The coffee was just okay, hence the 3 star "OK" rating. Nothing stand out or memorable for me from other average cafes or coffee shops. I also ordered a bunch of pastries to take to relative's and those were a bit underwhelming as well. I will most likely opt to try someplace else next time we visit. Cute little coffee shop with very friendly and helpful staff. They have a small display of some cookies, cakes and muffins and some hot breakfast sandwiches. They have a great selection of seasonal beverages. We tried the iced cinnamon vanilla shaken espresso and the iced chai with house made pumpkin seasoning. Both drinks were made dairy free by request and were not overly sweet, like some other places. Prices were very reasonable too. Glad we found a coffee shop in Manahawkin. read more

In a strip mall, there's some seating outside (if the weathers nice) and about three tables and some bar seating by the windows. The space is large and lets in a lot of light but a lot of the real estate is taken up by the roaster, the coffee bar and the retail shelves. We came for a bag of beans, and ordered a couple of lattes to stay. They kindly let us use their mugs, after inquiring about for here cups, though they only have the 12 oz size. We also got a bagel with egg cheese and bacon and a gingerbread cookie. The almond milk latte was very foamy and both the oat and almond milks were on the sweeter side. No latte art, which is always disappointing. I wish they had at least a vegetarian option, as I don't eat meat, so I had to remove the bacon on my half and give it to my partner. Service is kind the entire time and we spent a nice rainy morning here. read more

Outstanding coffee and service. Staff is helpful, friendly, and competent. I also love the ambience and the fact that this business clearly supports other local businesses by offering their breakfast sandwiches, ice cream sandwiches, baked products, and even "surf art." But the reason for a 4-star review is actually something that irks me about many other food businesses allowing this same thing lately, and that is allowing dogs into the establishment. I know -- it's named "Yellow DOG Coffee Roasters," but I was literally sitting and eating open food products at my table when the dog of this couple standing on line right near me shook out his fur in very close proximity to my food and drink. I know I will probably get a lot of hate for this comment, but PLEASE stop allowing animals into food establishments where prepared food is exposed and being served! Unless they are legit service animals, pets do NOT belong in restaurants, coffee shops, or super markets! It's discourteous to the other customers and should be considered a health code violation. read more

We stopped by Yellow Dog while on a trip to the shore with the family and ordered a large amount of coffee to start the day, and to our pleasant surprise the staff went above and beyond by serving the coffee to us in an insulated pump carafe. To boot they told us tot sake it time and return it when we wanted. Being from out of state we weren't used to this friendly act of kindness as it was such a thoughtful touch that kept the coffee hot for hours, making the day that much better. Friendly service, great coffee, and cool merch! They even had coffee bean sacks to purchase! read more

They know my son by name and always take the time to make little "lattes" for my kids, which they love. Big shout out to Yellow Dog Coffee Roasters. Anyone who is particular and knows anything about coffee this is the place to go. Coffee freshly roasted and delicious. I went to check them out and I wasn't disappointed. Dave the owner was so helpful and great taking the time to give me a few tips and info on the brewing and origins of each bean I purchased. I had Sumatra in house as a pour over. Excellent, and I took home the manahawkin blend for the espresso machine. Also Excellent. This place will definitely be my weekly stop in for Coffee and beans to take home. If your ready for real coffee and not that store bought stuff sitting there for months then please go and check yellow dog roasters out. Tell them Mike sent you. And let me know what you think.
