So my coworker invited us out here. This was my first time at this location. We decided to go here after work. It is right off of Garland Road. It is a black building. You will miss it, but I have to say this is a bar like they say don't judge a book by its cover cause when I pulled up, I was like, where am I, but when I opened the door, wow, it was terrific. The vibe is on point. They have a big karaoke stage. They do game nights. They do a Mario Party or Mario Kart night, and they have a happy hour. They have a game room in the back with darts, pool tables, and a few arcades that offer free play. I mean, this place was amazing. We came on Friday after work. I got the cocktail. I can't remember the name, but it was a celery gin-infused cocktail. It was on point, delicious. My coworker got another cocktail that had mezcal in it. This cocktail was so good, the way it was made. It was just delicious. We also ordered the umami pretzels with a three different dipping sauce, a mustard and apple type of sauce and I can't remember the other one, but I highly recommend this as a starter the sauces were so good and everything so I really wanna go back and try the food because the bartender was telling us that they just opened up in August they have a chef a new person there and so I'm really excited to try some of the food that they have there overall it was an amazing experience love the vibe you need to check them out like I said if you don't pay attention, you will drive past them so I highly recommend this bar. I can't wait to go back.

Drinks, food, and vibes are all tens across the board. Very friendly staff, fast drinks and amazing food all at a reasonable price.

Came to celebrate a Birthday last night. We arrived early and didn't know a soul. Within minutes…read morethe owner, bartender and patrons invited us in. Don't let the dive bar ambiance scare you it's definitely the people and the vibe that keeps you here. We witnessed people from all walks of life from Tesla to bicycle singing and sharing moments that can't be duplicated. Had a blast and can't wait to go back!

This place should be kept a secret and limited to invitees only. I almost didn't want to review…read morefor that reason as I'm not sure everyone should check it out. It has a special, magical charm of the perfect dive bar. I'm ignoring my previous trip there as, well, I should not have brought that person to this place. This place is not for pretentious people. Thus I was at home at this spot. It looks camouflaged by plain wrapping with a boring exterior. Open the door and it is a world of more things to explore than you have time to. You are treated like family as a stranger. Be ready to be among people who want to know you. I guess I fit as some there knew my friends from other dive bars. I never realized how small the Dallas Dive bar world was. I have some cool friends. The music is good on the video jukebox. The tears came to my eyes as a few post 9/11 patriotic songs were played (I bleed Army green and so did some that didn't return home to their moms intact.) Glad none there saw my eyes or noticed my toast to my memories. The couple dancing on the next song made me feel more at home. Good thing a good 2 step or waltz never played or I might have had to find a partner. The decor is somewhat Green Bay Packer-ish. Okay, a lot of Green Bay love in the decor. Heh, yes, I still carry a grudge from the 1967 Ice Bowl as a life long Cowboy fan should! But, I respect a bar owner who has actual stock in his/her team and displays it proudly! So that adds another star or would that be Starr? The patrons make this one special. This is one of the great dive bars!

Came here after walking at White Rock lake! Luckily for me they have two vegetarian options! YES!…read more They had a veggie bean burger and an impossible burger. I got the impossible burger with sweet potato fries. Amazing! We sat outside which may have been the wrong move, once the food arrived a slew of flies swarmed us and would not give up! We were barely able to get through half of the meal before deciding to take half of the meal home and getting out of there. The staff was friendly. They love dogs and came to hang out with our dog and give them plenty of water. They even offer treats if you would like. There is plenty of parking for an off period (we came at around 2pm). This is such an awesome place, but next time we will sit inside.

In the end, we all just try to tally up the wins and losses and try our best to rate a restaurant. This is my story. Usually when traveling, I try to get in a smattering of different genres of food. Mostly because I tire easy. Like when walking. I also try to get in some of the best things I like. Which are burgers. And wings. I'm also kind of a sucker for wildly long names of things. Which is exactly where good friend beer garden and burger house comes in. I really dug the look of the place. Open concept with the outside, outdoor seating, cool lighting ambiance. Just a really cool vibe and feel. Like a dorm room after your freshmen year. You know, once you get everything figured out and you aren't bunking with that weirdo with all the waifu pictures hanging up and FaceTimes with his cat. I will say though, the only weird drawback this place had was it was DARK on the inside. Never really had that problem before. Wouldn't have been an issue had I remembered my headlamp, but I left it back in the mines. And in all honesty, I don't care too much about the state of the building around me as long as the food hits hard. I was pumped about the wings as they seemed to have an assortment of flavors. I ordered four and thinking back, I can't remember why. Maybe that was the minimum, maybe you could only order in increments of four. Nobody really knows at this point and I'm way too far away to drive back and ask. So, four wings. You were able to split the sauces. Not like atoms, but like different flavors. This is food, not science. So, like a good CERN scientist, I requested split sauce. I inquired about the KFC flavoring and the server told me it was a rub and their version of secret blend of herbs and spices. I'm not a fan of rubs simply because if I'm going to eat wings, I want them saucy and messy. Like my relationships. BUT he said, and I quote "it's really good." That was all I needed to hear. Sign me up. After the rub I knew I needed a sauce. I settled with the Mild because it seemed like a good middle of the road. Man. Sometimes you do wings right and sometimes you do wings RIGHT. The KFC rub was 100% top tier rub. It wasn't a light rub which I've experienced before, it was a full on flavor soak. Make no mistake, you were going to experience that rub flavor. It was so good if I accidentally got some on my fingers, I'd just have nubs left. The Mild sauce was also top tier. Although I will say it seemed a few steps above a mild sauce. It was like a Low to Mid Hot sauce wearing a Mild sauce mask. Like the kind your mom and dad used to wear at those parties you weren't allowed to go to. Oh, and the wings had that chef's kiss crunch and that chiefs kiss juiciness. 10/10 want to experience these wings again in a Groundhog's Day setting. Now let's talk burger. I have found that I love smash burgers. I have not figured out yet how to make a delicious one myself, so I rely on the skill of others. Much like everything else in my life. Except dentistry. I do that myself. Castaway style. I ordered the Bourdain which included the patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and Kewpie mayo. Not sure what that last one is, but I like condiments on my burg, so sign me up. I'll let you in on a little secret, I used to make burgs for the Bee's back in my heyday. And a little deeper secret, I can't remember how we stacked them. That being said, when I make my personal burgers, everything is on top of the burger. I'll sometimes do a condiment or two on the bottom, but I have no real methodology. In my mind, you want that patty to hit those taste buds first. No middle man. Like the lawyer you kept having to talk to when trying to figure out which parent you wanted to live with. The Bourdain burger did the exact opposite with this burger. It had the lettuce and pickle as a buffer between meat and tongue. And honestly, I think that might have been what turned me off to the burger. I patties had good flavor, but it felt like it came in too late because I tasted toppings first. In my burger mind, this hurt more than it helped. Side Note: Fries were good. The spicy ranch would peel the paint off of any car, spot weld iron beams, and melt through your hand without protective gloves. It's hurting my mouth to even write this. PS Sorry for the sideways photos. I hate that, too. Chicken Wings: 12/10 Burger: 7/10 Spicy Ranch: Please Don't

The patio was pretty empty when I arrived at the end of happy hour but quickly started to fill with post-work patrons. My server, Jesse, was great! Super attentive and friendly. I tried the Texas Heat Flatbread ($8 on Mondays) and the Tater Kegs. They were each very tasty. The portion sizes were large enough that I could box half of it up for later. You could easily split a flatbread and an app between two people. **Girlies, I know where you need to be "girl dinner & yapping" on a Monday night** The restaurant's proximity to the White Rock Lake trails is also a perk. I was able to take a quick post dinner walk along the water. I will definitely be coming back for a post-walk "rehydration" break at a later date.

Second burger came out cooked correctly and I cut it in half to make sure properly cooked. I ate half and requested a box to go. Waitress comes back with box and I noticed a black hair on the outsider my burger. I showed it to her and she said she'd try to get it taken off my receipt. A few minutes later the manager (I suppose) comes back with the hair in a napkin and tells me "this is not from a person" and proceeds to tell me it was from my dog. Ok- my dog was in the ground the whole time. I had NO dog hair on me and there was NO dog hair on the surrounding areas. Manager insists it was from my dog and said "well if you want I can take the burger off your bill" very hesitantly. And I said yes. Ok well it could have been an eyebrow hair or an arm hair - it didn't necessarily have to come from someone's head. but it certainly did NOT come from my dog. Whatever happened to "customer is always right"? The backlash I got from this manager was Insane! Who would actually bring the hair specimen back to tell me it wasn't human hair and accuse me of lying. This is very bad practice for a restaurant. Not sure I'll come back here. If I was the owner I'd have a serious talk with this manager.
