I came in for a cacio e pepe on a Wednesday night around 8. We were able to get a table immediately. We sat in the garden area which was relaxing as they weren't too busy. The prices are affordable and the menu is extensive. Unfortunately my cacio e pepe just wasn't very good. The noodles could have been cooked longer and there wasn't very much sauce. To end our meal they have us free limoncello which was appreciated, the food just wasn't very good.

Excellent customer service and the best pasta I've ever had so delicious and perfect proportions !!! If ever in Rome you have to stop by such a good vibe and overall a 5 star experience will be back again next year!!

weIn Rome I had lasagna for three meals in a row! Tonight I wanted something else and this place was within walking distance of our hotel near Termii station. The staff quickly found us a table. My pizza was tasty and the shot of italian liquor was a great end to the meal.

This place really deserves the 5 stars! Service is fast, super friendly and attentive. Location is in a perfect spot close to Termini but in a quiet, nice neighborhood. The food was the AMAZING. I had the 4 cheese gnocchi and it was the best I've had in Rome. My husband ordered the Tagliatelle which comes with bacon, prosciutto and peas. I tried a bite and it was fantastic. We also ordered the red house wine which was affordable and delicious. They also give you a free limoncello shot at the end of your meal. Can't wait to come back :)

Let me start by saying I loved this place! It is amazing! It was close to our hotel and the station so on our way back to the station we popped in for lunch. Atmosphere: clean, trendy and air conditioned (very important in the hot summers of Europe) Service: fast, efficient and super friendly Food: Amazing! The portions were perfect for each of us, and you don't feel like you're stuffed to the top, it's perfect. We had the seafood risotto and the cacio e pepe and both were cooked to Al dente perfection! We licked the plates clean! My only regret is not finding this place sooner or visiting sooner! When I'm back in Rome I'll be sure to pop back in again for sure!

We were staying close by and I was excited to try this place after reading some of the previous reviews but maybe that set my expectations too high. I would give them 3.5 stars if I could but I can't justify 4 with the quality of the main entree The prosciutto Melon was good. The fresh melon complimented the salty meat for a great, refreshing flavor. The amatriciana wasn't bad. By itself, a bit bland but after adding a few spoonfuls of Parmesan, it had the savory flavor I was looking for We were very disappointed by the Filetto Pepe. The pepper sauce looked and tasted like American gravy with only a hint of pepper. By the look of the meat, it seemed to only be cooked about medium rare (which I like) but still somehow felt overcooked with a dry taste and felt leathery when cutting through. On the side, the potatoes were burnt and the salad wasn't dressed

We stopped in here for lunch as we waited for our hotel room to be ready. They had a menu outside and air conditioning which was good enough to check it out! This spot is fairly standard and wasn't anything too special but the service was fast, food pretty good, and the prices were reasonable. They don't charge for service or give out bread FYI. We each got a pasta that was €8.50. I tried the 4 cheese gnocchi and my husband got the 4 cheese spinach ricotta ravioli. The portion was actually quite filling and I was certainly satisfied. Compared to the many other amazing spots in Rome, however, this spot is just OK.

best food i had in rome! went on my last night, then proceeded to go again for lunch the day i left. still hadn't had enough of my italian pasta fill and even got an order to go to eat on my train to budapest for dinner service was great, multilingual, and attentive. our waiter gave us like three complimentary shots of limoncello too. he's my hero.

Great food and great service! I would definitely come here again. Everyone loved their food and the tiramisu.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

I was surprised when I read the Yelp reviews that a few of my awesome Yelpers also dined here too and gave high marks so I was very excited to give them a try. After ordering some tasty vino we went the Focaccia with mozzarella, black truffle with a truffle cream sauce. The Focaccia was lite and a thin crust. Topped with some delicious mozzarella and black truffle made this appetizer and home run choice. After the Focaccia I decided to stay on theme and went with the Fettuccine al tartufo nero e porcini (fettuccine black truffle & porcini mushrooms). Holy cow, a delicious culinary delight. Some other hits of the table included the beef fillet with green pepper sauce & Digione mustard. Astice grigliato, verdure al vapore e maionese alla curcuma (Grilled lobster with steamed veggies in a mayonnaise turmeric sauce and a Lasagna, tartufo nero, funghi, mozzarella e grana (lasagna with blach truffle, mushrooms, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese) All were just amazing. Impeccable service and an old world Italian charm decor made this a delightful experience.

There is a restaurant on the same corner with the same name so make sure you end up at the right place. There is always a woman in the front window rolling out fresh pasta so you know it's legit. This place is very popular so you should expect to have to wait in a line outside for a table, trust me it is worth it. The waitstaff keeps things moving and are very organized so just be patient. I ordered an Aperol Spritz and water for drinks. The cocktail was a nice size, well balanced, and I loved the branded glass. It was very hot outside so appreciated the cold drinks and AC units. We also ordered a side of bread to share, which of course comes with olive oil and balsamic, so we could soak up every ounce of the delicious pasta sauces. The bread crust was crispy and warm and inside soft, perfect. So many pasta options on the menu. Every dish I have tried has been spectacular, but I decided to get the Carbonara again as it was my favorite last time. The sauce is rich and decedent, the noodles are a thicker type and perfectly al dente, and the pancetta and cheese on top adds lovely saltiness. It's so satisfying. You will be full after you devour every bite so you don't need the Second course. We couldn't even do dessert. Osteria da Fortunata has multiple locations and open late, so I highly recommend you try them when visiting Rome. This is a town of amazing food, but here really just hits the spot!

Very Disappointing Experience - Osteria da Fortunata, Pantheon Location…read more We have visited Rome several times and have eaten at Osteria da Fortunata della Cancelleria on Via della Cancelleria. During our previous visits, we had excellent experiences with both the food and the customer service, which is why tonight's experience was especially disappointing. We ordered the carbonara and spaghetti, and unfortunately, the pasta was undercooked, very chewy, and cold. It was not at all the quality we had experienced during our previous visits. When we asked the waiter to take the carbonara back because it was not edible, his attitude was extremely disappointing. Rather than offering to replace the dish or addressing our concern professionally, he told us that the manager had approved it and that we could simply take the food home. What made the experience even worse was the atmosphere of this location. The restaurant felt more like a factory than an authentic Italian dining experience. We noticed the staff using walkie-talkies to communicate with the host, and as soon as customers left their tables, the waiter would communicate with the host to immediately send new customers in to fill the space. It gave us the impression that the priority was turning tables over as quickly as possible rather than providing guests with a pleasant dining experience. The constant rush was noticeable and took away from what should have been an enjoyable meal in Rome. It is very unfortunate because we have visited Osteria da Fortunata several times in the past and genuinely enjoyed both the food and the service. Tonight, however, the cold and poorly cooked pasta, the attitude of the waiter, and the rushed, factory-like atmosphere made this a very disappointing experience.

It is a large restaurant and was full of lively patrons. The indoor decor is warm and inviting. The first thing I noticed was the camaraderie between the waitstaff - everyone seemed to get along, helped each other and were having fun. We had 2 wonderful Filipino waiters. One had the same Ray-Ban meta glasses as my husband, which they bonded over. We ordered the bombolotti carbonara and lasagna-both delicious. For the mains, grilled Turbot (which was perfectly de-boned tableside) and meatballs w/ mashed potatoes. While the waiter was de-boning the fish, the song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver came on overhead. My husband and I both looked at each other and smiled, thinking WTH?! I asked the waiter, "did we tell you we were from West Virginia?" and he smiled and shook his head. But later confessed, he played it for us (I guess we did tell him, lol). It made our night. Rome was the last city in our multi-city 12 day tour and we loved every minute but we were looking forward to going home. Hearing "Country Roads" at a popular and busy restaurant a block away from the Spanish Steps blew our minds. A young couple sat next to us for a quick snack, I asked her what she ordered (it looked delicious) and she said "Im from a different part of Italy but come here just for their artichokes". A few minutes later, I saw a plate full of artichokes pass by, being brought to a table outside. They made my mouth water. Al 34 was one of our favorite restaurants in Italy -- wonderful food (extensive menu), very lively with a mixed crowd (lots of Asians, English speakers and native Italians). It is a fun place to go and the wait staff is one of the reasons I will be coming back. I cant wait to try their artichokes! If you see the word, carciofo (artichoke), order it!
