My friends and I ate at Ristorante Julie's on our last night in Rome and could not stop talking about how incredible it was! It was the perfect ending to our trip. The food was incredible--exactly what we'd been looking for our entire trip--and the staff was so kind and welcoming. Our server, whose name I really wished I'd asked, was very accommodating and really took the time and care to make sure we were enjoying everything. Other staff also made conversation and even treated us to a round of limoncello on the house after our meal. The bartender, too, was very kind. The whole interaction felt like we'd made a bunch of friends just going out to dinner. I hope to come back to Rome soon and when I do, I will definitely be eating here!! read more

Had a nice portion of hearty pasta e fagioli: beans and small noodles. It was served in a huge bowl that resembled an upside-down white porcelain WWI army helmet, haha! Service was friendly and mostly good. They kept calling me "signore." The waiter forgot my water, but they made up for it with a shot of limoncello after dining. It's owned by a Chinese couple who came to Italy from Shanghai 40 years ago. Big menu. Fair prices. Pleasant interior with old brick arches. No coperto, but bread costs extra. Free WiFi. I came in for a cacio e pepe on a Wednesday night around 8. We were able to get a table immediately. We sat in the garden area which was relaxing as they weren't too busy. The prices are affordable and the menu is extensive. Unfortunately my cacio e pepe just wasn't very good. The noodles could have been cooked longer and there wasn't very much sauce. To end our meal they have us free limoncello which was appreciated, the food just wasn't very good. read more

Let me start by saying I loved this place! It is amazing! It was close to our hotel and the station so on our way back to the station we popped in for lunch. Atmosphere: clean, trendy and air conditioned (very important in the hot summers of Europe) Service: fast, efficient and super friendly Food: Amazing! The portions were perfect for each of us, and you don't feel like you're stuffed to the top, it's perfect. We had the seafood risotto and the cacio e pepe and both were cooked to Al dente perfection! This place really deserves the 5 stars! Service is fast, super friendly and attentive. Location is in a perfect spot close to Termini but in a quiet, nice neighborhood. The food was the AMAZING. I had the 4 cheese gnocchi and it was the best I've had in Rome. My husband ordered the Tagliatelle which comes with bacon, prosciutto and peas. I tried a bite and it was fantastic. By itself, a bit bland but after adding a few spoonfuls of Parmesan, it had the savory flavor I was looking for We were very disappointed by the Filetto Pepe. This spot is fairly standard and wasn't anything too special but the service was fast, food pretty good, and the prices were reasonable. They don't charge for service or give out bread FYI. We each got a pasta that was €8.50. I tried the 4 cheese gnocchi and my husband got the 4 cheese spinach ricotta ravioli. The portion was actually quite filling and I was certainly satisfied. I was dining alone. I ordered the pasta carbonara and found it acceptable. In terms of service, I seemed to be an afterthought. Groups arriving after me were getting fast service and "red carpet" treatment. I was not, but I let that go. When the waiter finally brought my check, I tapped my credit card to the card machine and asked if it was"ok" (wondering if I had tapped the card in the right place). The waiter said something in English I didn't catch, and asked, "Did you understand?" I said no, and he repeated, "If you don't have money you can help clean the dishes." This restaurant was close to our hotel. I went here to get some hot soup for my son who was sick on our first day in Rome. They were open but no one was in there & I had to wait for them to heat up the soup. The menu said €6 for vegetable soup but I was charged €9. My son & I went back for dinner a couple days later and again, it was empty. A few minutes later a couple other Americans walked in so we sat and chatted with them as we waited for our food. The risotto scampi wasn't bad but it kinda reminded me of rice-a-roni back home. My son's tortellini bologna was just ok as well. Neither of us finished our food & neither did the other Americans. My super picky 16-year-old and I stayed around the corner from Julie's a few weeks ago and had to give it a try. This is a mid to upper level bistro offering classic Italian fare - pizza, pasta, bruschetta, and a decent wine list along with, of course, Coca Cola and Sprite. The white pizza was not to my son's liking (he was expecting red sauce), but the classic spaghetti with marinara did the trick for him. The freshly grated Parmesan brought to the table enhanced the flavor nicely for a late brunch. Service was friendly and fast by Italian standards as well. We did have to laugh a bit at the ambiance - music videos on a TV mounted to one side of us while a stereo streamed jazzy covers of contemporary music (weirdly at one point including a rendition of Silent Night) played on behind us. read more

My friends and I were about to walk past this restaurant until the waiter reeled us in for dinner. He offered guaranteed satisfaction or our meal is free. I was very impressed with the service as well as the food. Our waiter's name was Mimo and he was one of the most funny, relatable, and hospitable waiters we've ever experienced in Europe. He told us that he didn't want to be one of those waiters that just drop the food off without saying a word, but he wanted to be an integral part of the dining experience. He brought water and bread for our table free of charge, and gave us tons of tips because he recognized we were tourists. 5 stars for unique service with affordable and good food.
