Most of my recent reviews are 5 stars, raving about great service. Unfortunately this isn't one of them. This review is about the pharmacy staff at Rite Aid. . Not the retail store staff. The pharmacy on Spring Street has the rudest, most impatient, uncaring, uncommunicative staff & Pharmacist. Basically refusing to "deal with" customers & telling them to "stop talking" & are short staffed & that is why they are incompetent. I have never heard staff talk to customers like they did last Thursday afternoon, on November 2nd. The pharmacy at Walmart in Paso Robles is so friendly & efficient & the Pharmacist, Jonathan, is extremely professional, personable, & caring. Transferring our prescriptions was the best thing to do. I'm getting all my family switched to Walmart. The Spring Street Rite Aid's pharmacy clearly doesn't want your business. The lines are usually long, & they will tell you it's because they are short staffed. The Rite Aid on Creston is somewhat better but my vote is Walmart if you are looking for a great pharmacy with professional pharmacists & caring & efficient check out staff. I do not recommend the Spring Street Rite Aid pharmacy & would give it negative stars. Sooo today is December 29th. I started this review almost 2 month ago & finally all of my husband's prescriptions are transferred. It took 4 requests! When I went in to ask why it was taking so long, the pharmacy staff snapped & said it was sent today. They always act very bothered to assist their customers. Well it won't be us any longer. Jonathan, our Walmart Pharmacist told me he was going to drive there himself if it wasn't transferred today. Luckily he didn't have to. But THAT is the kind of service you can expect at the Paso Robles Walmart pharmacy! read more

This pharmacy is always very busy. Long waits for prescriptions. However the lovely person who works counter goes above and beyond to be helpful and speed things up. She deserves a bonus for her attitude under difficult circumstances. read more

Geez Louise, what's up with all the negative comments here? I'm a reasonable and patient person. Honestly I've never had an issue here and they are 100% more competent than any CVS I've ever been to. Minus one star for the huge amount of maskless. Whether it's ignorance or just defiance, this is a pharmacy with sick people (just like an MD office). Please have some respect for others. If I could give it 0 fucking stars I would! This is the worst pharmacy ever! At ALL Rite Aids the pharmacies suck! Why do we still support them? They have 5-6 probably even 7 people working and they are super fucking SLOW!! Now I'm in so pain because they take so fucking long! Had to wait over an hr to receive my medication after they said 30mins wait. And on top of that the ladies are rude and annoying af! read more

We walked in for a prescription after a long night at the hospital. I had work that morning and got finished right at 4:30PM to take the Ms. to the pharmacy. The pharmacy, similar to DMV 's are hit or miss experiences, not primarily due to the staff but mainly because the patient or client came In unprepared. We ran into Shannon, who made the experience seamless, provided we had all of the necessary materials. We were her last patients for the day and she still took her time ensure we were properly handled and our experience was completed with another nice person at check out. Overall, thank you to Shannon and the rest of the team for their help after a long day through the medical system. read more

Has Rite Aid on Spring Street given up? If I could give no stars, I would. The pharmacy just opened, four staff standing around, three customers in line already, and no cash register. Been coming here for over a decade and this place has been in a steep decline, especially the last year. It took 3 days to get my non-controlled substance medication refill ready to pick up. And god forbid your doctor prescribes a controlled substance. The judgement and attitude of the pharmacy staff is akin to a 15 year old girl straight off the set of Mean Girls. It's a hassle and inconvenient but I'm switching to Walmart. No surprise that rite aid is going bankrupt. read more

Rite Aid Pharmacy at 2424 Spring St is extremely frustrating. My husband was given a prescription to start immediately to help prevent an infection in his lungs not to turn into pneumonia. Stopped on the way home but was not ready. I called several times over a 6 hour period the next day but pharmacy never picked up. I went into town and stood in line at pharmacy for 15 minutes and when I finally got to the pharmacy window and asked if something was wrong with the phones I was told they were working but they chose not to answer. That is not acceptable. I also prefer Walmart. My husband made a formal complaint to the corporate office. read more

I was in this store today and the women behind the counter told me I needed to show I'd for pepper spray which by the way was not behind the counter .I just got a package at the sporting goods store the other day and they didn't card me or even Ask for my ID . It is not a california law to show ID to buy pepper spray .Not cool riteaid . bad service read more

I agree with Kevin L. I usual don't bother to write about a business if they're doing a good job, but in this case, and the beehive of negative reviews, I just had to speak up. I have been going to this Rite Aid since they opened and I've never had a prescription that was filled incorrectly or had to bring anything back to return or exchange. They're always a step ahead in store selections and noticeably and especially around the holidays. My wife and I LOVE that. I consider myself a hard customer to please but, I'd like to thank the hard working pharmacy technicians Rose and Tatiana (my guardian angels) and Rihanna the pharmacist. I was disappointed that Rihanna had been reassigned to another store since she was always concerned about my well-being. When I was doing my regular shopping at Rite Aid, and strolling near the Pharmacy, Rihanna would always wave and say hi to me and asked how my family and I was doing. I thought that was very thoughtful and caring. Taking a moment of her busy day to notice me and to say those things, it's really is humbling experience. I feel like all the people at the pharmacy treat me as one of their family members. I've read the negative comments on Yelp about this Rite Aid but this Rite Aid is much more liked than disliked because of all the customers they have that keeps them extremely busy. To the people that complain, these employees have got alot on their plates. They must make sure the perscription is correct and a valid one, check your insurance coverage, label it correctly, print the medication instructions and the legal mumbo jumbo so people like you don't sue the pants off them. They make one mistake and get sued, their careers are over. I wouldn't want their job, fo-sho. Walk a mile in their shoes, would you? If I was a wealthy man, I would send everyone of them to Hawaii for a month of R & R. A well-deserved vacation. And NO, I'm not associated in any way with Rite Aid. I'm just a satisfied customer. Maybe corporate can read this and give them the well-deserved vacation, rasies, and bonuses as I feel they need and deserve. This Rite Aid is very much appreciated. If I could give zero stars I would. Called their pharmacy and was given a run around about medication that was prescribed to my son. Saying I needed to call the er back and tell them to send it to another pharmacy who could fill that medicine. After calling the er they told the pharmacist was supposed to call and not me. Then contacting the pharmacy again for them to tell me o well we will get to it when we have time... thanks cause my son really needs that medication. read more

Need to slam this pharmacy after using, or trying to use it, twice. Each time in different ways they manage to fail to do even the most basic of professional responsibilities. Their recurring pattern is to simply stop work on filling any prescription if a single detail was not served up to them. They do not call either patient or provider to get the answer they want. Rather, the patient in need arrives hours later to be told "nope" and "not our fault". Power trip, laziness, branch or corporate culture, revenge for some employment or life dissatisfaction??? Can't say - just advise going elsewhere in your time of need. read more

1 out of every 3 or 4 times I call this store their phones are down or I key the option for where I want to be directed the call is terminated. It seems to be getting worse and worse with time. I would rate this a 1 but I like the employees here. It does however feel like the business in general is just trying to do just enough to survive. Which means instead of me calling in an order I have to drive in and sit their and wait because they don't have something as basic as a phone system which functions normally. read more

The Pharmacist Sonia has no patient care experience. She started by giving me the injection without introducing herself or providing any aftercare instructions. She literally just said nothing at all and when I asked her a question her answers were yes/no without blinking an eye. No emotion no compassion and no interpersonal skills to talk to the patient and make them feel at ease before giving Covid injections!! She also seemed not very knowledgeable and made me feel as if she didn't know much about the injection, she was providing me. She needs interpersonal training and should not interact with patients until she gets the training. read more

We come here occasionally for "Ice Cream Friday" when the kiddos do well on spelling tests. I don't generally shop here because I think it's over priced for the most part although there are sometimes good deals on makeup (bogo, 50% second etc) and booze. The reason for this review is strictly for their "loss prevention team." Last evening, a suspected shoplifter was assaulted by a plain clothed man who was part of their security team. I am obviously not a fan of shoplifting-and I have no idea if she actually stole anything, but there is not one single thing in that store that could have possibly warranted the way that man tackled her and grabbed onto her and her personal property. Theft is wrong, and so is assault!! If someone who clearly is not a law enforcement officer ever would have come at me like that, i would have immediately defended myself. I hope for the store's sake he was fired as he is clearly overzealous and a huge liability to the store. read more

The short fat lady that has short dirty dishwater blonde hair and works at night almost caused me to get into a car wreck in the parking lot because there was a police officer who pulled a car over into the parking lot and all the employees came out to see what all the commotion was and I don't know why they were yelling at me and pointing at me but I almost backed into a car because of it and the next day I called the manager I'm still taking care of this, it was so unprofessional and I've never been in any situation like this and I'm definitely going to take care of it read more

Update: Scolari's closed, so we switched back. I wanted to update because service in person has improved and so has phone service. I like the text notifications. Samantha is especially friendly here. Lines are usually down to one or two customers, which is great. Keep on improving! I added a star. Original: Service is slow and help can be hard to find. We switched our pharmacy needs to Scolari's because we were unsatisfied by Rite Aide's customer service at the counter, long wait times, and poor phone service. I get the feeling they have more customers than the time needed to deal with them. The store has a good selection of sundries and typical supplies. read more

We stopped here on the way back to the hotel to grab some road snacks for way home the next day. We found what we wanted relatively easy. This place isn't anything special. It's a typical Rite-Aid, but I did get the feeling that this building was from the 1970s or even earlier. Not exactly a brand new looking drugstore. When we were ready to pay, my husband had some fun playing with the debit card swiper. For some reason it didn't want to cooperate with us, but the clerk fiddled with it enough to make sure our the transaction went through. read more

Over the last two years, I've shopped at this Rite Aid store. While I agree, the store is a bit long in the tooth, I appreciate it being located in a convenient site. I've found the employees to be very helpful when asked to help find an item and polite in other dealings. While others may have had a different experience, it could be we get what we give. One cannot expect politeness, if it is not given to begin with. I suspect we all have a bad day now and then, so it could be the same in some of the other reviews. A smile and good manners go a long way. I've been pleased in my dealings with the pharmacists and expect the same to be true in the future. A big thanks to those who working in less than stellar conditions, make way to their tasks in order to assure we have a store available without having to drive a great distance. I want corporate to read this. I want the smart and savvy executives and owners to invest in your biggest assets! Your employees and your customers!Please reward your employees more and I'd happily spend more money at RIte Aids everywhere. If I were certain the professionals who work here were paid more, it would actually encourage consumers to spend MUCH MORE MONEY at their local rite aid. I want to COMMEND the PEOPLE who work here ESPECIALLY TATIANA in the pharmacy. TATIANA is fantastic. During these difficult times people need to be kinder and not act like we are some sort of criminal. I will never shop at rite aid again ever. I walked in and grabbed the things I needed and the lady IN CHARGE of the line started yelling at me that I was not in the right line. I didn't see a sign that said wait here or that the registers were not working. Wow really lady, why not get a real job. We are still your loyal customers. Not sure why the reviews are so low, but I came in for some headache medicine, and got it. No issues. We browsed the cards section for Valentins Day and found a huge selection for all occasions. The store was clean and the staff was friendly. It is sparse and simple inside, but that's what you expect here. No complaints. read more

Worst pharmacy experience ever! Took them an hour to fill a prescription they should've filled in the first place. 3 people behind the counter doing nothing but filling out prescriptions for people who aren't even there to pick up. Heaven forbid they actually help patients that are already there to pick up a prescription. I'll be taking ALL my business elsewhere. read more

I was traveling up the coast from LA to SF, and stopped over for 2 nights in Paso. While in town, I needed to get a prescription filled. My prescription was on file with my home pharmacy in Ohio, but they looked at me like I was crazy when I told them to call the pharmacy- a locally owned, independent store, to get the transfer. It took over an hour, there was absolutely no rush, I was on their time. I'm glad that I don't live in Paso and have to depend on these jokers. read more

What an absolute dump!!! The store itself is not well kept at all...items out of place, floors dirty and the bathrooms are 1 step above an open trench. C'mon, I realize that this store is in the northern part of Paso Robles, but have some dignity and pride in your store. As for the employees, a couple of them are ok in the Customer Service aspect of their job, but i've also seen a couple of them just straight out argue with customers like they were at a bar instead of their place of employment. Also, the cashiers need to put some effort in their job and get those lines moving...seriously, waiting 5-10 mins in a line is wayyy too long. Finally,.....keep the tweakers and homeless bums out of the store. Although it is hilarious to watch them bumble around and harass the other customers, its just bad for buisness and reputation . All in all this place is good for a "Last ditch" store, but imo a total overhaul is way overdue. read more

All these other complaints or good reviews were years ago. Names of pharmacists that are no longer here. The main pharmacist is Kelly. I have been using riteaid for 20 plus years for my meds. I've only been using this one in paso on spring st for maybe 6 plus months and the one on creston for over 1 year. I receive pain meds on top of many other important meds. This last 2 months the pharmacist no longer wants to fill my pain meds. I've talked to corporate about how she has treated me and what shes doing about my meds. Corporate is awesome. They have been trying hard to help me and have talked with her. Anyways since Kelly is the main pharmacist apparently she can refuse filling my pain meds. She is very rude. Talks about your personal business in front of all customers and workers. She doesnt care about my situation and gives no help or empathy. The other workers and pharmacists are nice and dont understand the problem. I'm now forced to take ALL my meds somewhere else do to her hateful attitude towards me. I dont get my other meds by myself anymore because I'm afraid of her rudeness and hatefulness towards me. On their site there are others complaining of the same treatment. I know through a reliable source that there have been many complaints against her that are being investigated. It's hard enough to not get looked at wrong for taking pain meds. But to be treated like some pos druggy is horrible. I have cancer among severe surgeries going on and see a professional pain management every month. I'm not on fentanyl or meds like that. I have never been treated this way until now. She had no problems filling my meds for the last 6 plus months. Now all of a sudden she does. I am taking ALL my meds from this riteaid and will find a better personal pharmacy. I hope there are no more people being treated this way but sadly I know there is. 2/15/2020 read more

This is an okay Rite Aid overall. the line is always long and people cut because no one knows if you would be in one line or two and you get crammed in the front so if your in a rush this makes a speedy check out unrealistic. Another issue I have is all the lights in the parking lot are out I feel like this is a safety problem and has been like this for a very long time. Prescriptions, I have numerous but 2 are vital to keeping me alive High Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure meds that are covered by Medical which I have now transferred to San Luis Obispo county and they still tell me it's not covered by Medical and I know it is now active because all my other procedures are excepting it for prescribed test such as Mammary gram test and heart stress test yet Rite Aid still continues to fill my refills , all my Workman Comp go through without problems and they are serious meds and expensive if they don't fill the 2 most important ones I am transferring them all to another Pharmacy, also Social Services warned me of problems with that particular Rite Aid , they are right read more

I would avoid this pharmacy at all costs - there are plenty of other pharmacies in Paso Robles that will help you and treat your circumstances with some urgency and care. Rite Aid on Spring Street could care less about your personal circumstances as they are lazy and place little to know value on providing customer service. read more
