Out of town, sitting on hold, waiting for somebody in the pharmacy to pick up. 45 minutes and the only glimmer of hope was somebody picking up, then immediately putting the call back on hold without saying a word. I'm trying to transfer a prescription to a pharmacy in FL where I am on business. They got hold of Rite Aid only to be told to FAX the request and they might be able to get to it in a week. How many times does Rite Aid management need to apologize sincerely on Yelp reviews for the same bad service issues? 3 years and counting makes it pretty clear nobody in the store really cares about how bad their service is or how frustrated customers are. This review isn't so much about Rite Aid as it is about an experience my friend and I had there last night. We went out to dinner and then, per usual, we like to stop by Rite Aid for a single scoop of ice cream. We were standing in line behind two college-aged girls. One of the girls ordered chocolate malt ball ice cream, which was the last serving in the tub. My friend commented on the fact that they were out of her favorite ice cream. When the girl was served, she turned around to my friend and handed her the ice cream cone, knowing it was her favorite. She then ordered another flavor for herself. That was one of the sweetest gestures I've seen in a long time! No matter what you think about young people today, my faith has been restored by this one act of kindness. I hope and pray for this young girl to have a wonderful college experience, and that someone comes along and blesses her immensely. read more

For all the complaints I read on Google about this place, the location was immensely convenient, and the facilities were the most pleasant of any drugstore around. It was so nice to not be lost in some kind of enormous shed, but instead to be in a light and cozy evironment. Terribly rude pharmacy staff. Looking at these past reviews I don't see why Rite Aid hasn't done anything about this. I've waited over an hour and a half for an easy prescription that had already been sent to them by my doctor. The rude pharmacist kept telling me 30 more minutes, and was very snappy. The store was completely empty. I will never be back, I have other pharmacy options that are just as convenient and better ran. I assure you, it's better to go to a pharmacy that's out of your way.. unless you don't mind losing hours out of your day. read more

The experience my family and I have had at this Rite Aid location, at the pharmacy specifically, has been consistently terrible. Our final experience was the last straw and we will be switching pharmacies. The pharmacy technician, Roxanne, was incredibly rude and the pharmacist, May, was even worse. We waited approximately 20 min in line for them to assist us, which I understand is due to understaffing, however Roxanne was incredibly rude, short, and snappy when she interacted with us. I was not sure which prescription was ready and she asked me if I wanted the paperwork for this medication. I asked her which medication the paperwork was for, she kept repeating if I wanted the paperwork. I asked again which medication was ready, instead of telling me what the medication was, she shoved the bottle in my face. I said I do not want the paperwork for this medication as this is a medication I have been taking for years. I asked her whether the medication was billed through goodrx or my insurance and she said goodrx. I asked her to rebill the medication through my insurance, and the pharmacist, May, came to the counter and immediately snapped at me, telling me I was rude because I asked Roxanne to tell me which medication was ready. I tried to explain that I wanted to know which medication was ready because I do not need the paperwork for my chronic medications. Instead of listening and understanding, she continued to snap at me and berate me without understanding any of my reasoning. I am a healthcare worker, and Roxanne and May's behavior was unacceptable in any setting, but especially in the healthcare space. From all of these reviews, and from our friends' experiences in the community, this kind of behavior is the norm for this Rite Aid. Rite Aid -- despite knowing that this is the behavior that your pharmacy staff demonstrates, why have you failed to make changes? The assistant manager stated that this is not the first time he has heard complaints about Roxanne and May. Time to make changes Rite Aid, otherwise you might as well close this location if you're unable to hire kind and professional staff. read more

Rude, RUDE. My husband and I are both disabled, and have a difficult time walking around. We asked the cashier where a certain product was (her name was something like Gracie? Wearing a long skirt, black hair in a ponytail) so that we could more easily maneuver the aisles. She was NOT nice at all. We ended up needing to ask the pharmacy staff, and found it ourselves. Pharmacy staff was much more friendly. Once we went to the checkout counter, the rudeness just elevated. RUDE. Who would hire a person like that. She made us feel bad for even asking for accommodations, or where certain products were. I'll never come back to this Rite Aid, the employees (or maybe just THIS employee) are beyond rude, and so unprofessional. This Rite Aid has a decent assortment of everyday things - medicines, snacks, beverages etc. Whenever I need to pick something up quick, I typically stop in here. However it seems like whenever I NEED something - the Rite Aid is either out of stock or doesn't carry it. For example, one time I injured my arm (was not sure if it was broken or not... it was) so I stopped into Rite Aid to get a sling. They were out of slings and they didn't have any in the back of the store. The store associate then proceeded to tell me they sell them online - which was not helpful whatsoever. I would expect a store like Rite Aid to be fully stocked with medical supplies. One thing that I do love about Rite Aid is their ice cream. This is one of my favorite places to come with friends when we want a cool treat. The prices are very cheap compared to other ice cream shops and they have decent variety. read more

Worst pharmacy every AVOID. They are very passive aggressive with me and other customers. They also can't figure out there system! My insurance has been dropped numerous times and I have to pay for prescriptions then come back later for reimbursement. They are fucking idiots it's hard to watch. Every time it's something new and I feel bad being rude bc it just slows the process down even further. I am here for 30 minutes every time because they can't get their shit together. Literally made a yelp account, because of how bad they fucked me over. I get a prescription from my dentist. The dentist calls it into the Pharmacy. I go in immediately to give them my contact info. After 20 mins of waiting they take my info and assure me that they will call when its ready. After two hours of waiting I never received a call. I get in there and they tell me I have to give them my insurance.(I literally tried to give it to them when I was doing my contact info). I have to wait another 20 mins because they needed a different employee to put my insurance in. Finally 3 hours after the prescription was put in the employee tells me they don't have any of my medicine, but they would by 2 pm and they would call me. Never called me and when I called them they informed me they were still out and they don't know when they have more. So the employee essentially told me misinformation the day prior. I have now went a day since I was supposed to get my prescription and my condition is dramatically worse. read more

Well...I normally wouldn't do this kind of post especially because it's regarding a $3 purchase, but I am so grossed out haha! Just took my son to get ice cream and the lady scooping the ice cream had a nasty cough and was coughing while scooping the people before us ice cream. We should have left but I was like "maybe it was just clearing her throat" or whatever...then for us she scooped a little bit onto his cone and then literally coughed ON the ice cream then put another scoop over that... It was wild. She went from the cash register straight over to the ice cream bar and I didn't see her do any sort of sanitizing situation and was (I think) wearing the same plastic gloves she had on at the register?? Anyways, she was not rude to us but was slamming around the ice cream bins and seemed like she maybe needed a day off. :( we took the ice cream but then I just tossed it out (my son already ate some while I was getting my ice cream Scooped...) because I didn't want us to eat ice cream that was coughed on...my son was crying and didn't understand because he's 4 so it was not a great moment, haha. So this is awkward but this level of service is pretty wild considering the last couple years and just sanitation in general while dealing with food. Daughter went to get a prescription filled for antibiotics for strep. Waited over an hour then asked at counter and was told that they did not have her information even though they had her insurance card and prescription but then said it had not been entered into their system. She waited another hour before approaching the counter again and was told rudely by the woman working that she needed to sit down and wait. My daughter reminded her she was contagious with strep while sitting in their store for over two hours. Not to mention she feels miserable. Won't be back or recommend to any other Cal Poly families to go to this Rite Aid Pharmacy. read more

The lady was rude to me when I wanted to buy a COVID rapid test. It's fine if you can only sell one per customer, lady - you don't have to yell at me about it. Tried to get a prescription from here, whatever you do don't do it, the prescription has been received by them for 36 hours and they still have yet to fill it. i have been in three times and each time they say it will be ready in an hour. When I called the front of the store and asked to speak to the manager, woman was dismissive and cold saying, "he is not available". If the staff is overworked, understaffed and overwhelmed, there is no need to take it out on customers; myself and my 18 year old daughter included. Definitely taking business elsewhere. This rite aid is so beautiful! It's very clean and has a modern feel to it. Things are usually well stocked and organized and best of all, thry have the ice cream counter! If you've never had Thrifty's before, now is the time to go! I understand masks are required because of CO-VID; that doesn't give your closing woman the right to start talking negatively about other shoppers to people checking out. A guy walked in covering his nose and mouth with a shirt, the woman snaps at him saying he needs a mask (his mouth and nose WERE ALREADY covered....). He says okay and asks for an extra one, she says no when I can clearly see a stack of extra masks in line. He went to buy some but then your cashier had the nerve to start badmouthing him to another customer, which he heard and then immediately left. I set all my stuff I intended to buy and left as well; if they were willing to treat someone else like that and lie about not having masks, why would I want to support that? I found what I needed, there were many different brands of packaging tape to choose from, and I was in and out of the store in a matter of 5 minutes tops. I am writing a review of the Rite Aid on Foothill Boulevard. I had scheduled a COVID-19 Moderna booster after work. I waited in the lobby and she rudely proceeded to let me know that Moderna was not CDC approved and would not give me that booster. I called the other Rite Aid on Johnson Avenue and now they don't have any appointments available, but they did give out correct information about the Moderna booster. It is CDC approved! Surprising that an employee that specifically works in a pharmacy is giving out wrong information to the public. And was rude to top it off. read more

Pharmacy here is horrible. Tried to come in and get a Covid booster. I've been here for the initial J&J and one booster. 2nd booster was approved for people that had two already and are immunocompromised, which I am. They told me they don't do J&J. I let them know I had been there twice for it and it was the option to choose in the menu when making an appointment on the website. Pharmacist says aggressively "I'm not going to fight you on it". So I walked out. Horrible experience and they pushed me to not get a booster. read more

I don't even know what to call this store..its like a pseudo grocery, pharmacy, random stuff store. The only things I have ever bought here are ice cream :) beer, packing tape, and a pack of gum. Everything else is over priced or utterly useless. They sell a lot of random stuff that I am pretty sure no one ever buys - just go look down the aisles one day. Best pharmacy ever. It's frustrating to see negative reviews about things like the pharmacist being at lunch(thank god there's a law that requires a break those guys work 13 hour shifts), or the pharmacy asking for ID on a controlled substance( that's a no brainer), or wait times ( it's not fast food take your time and do it right). These complainers have clearly never worked retail or medical. Things take time, require cooperation from doctors and insurance companies, and communication is two ways. This pharmacy has, and encourages text notifications. If you sign up it will text when your medication is ready, or need to be ordered, or if your doctor needs to authorize refills. read more

Eerie lighting and expensive products. Its the ideal place to purchase medical supplies and drugs but thats it. The drink and snack selection pales in comparison to the options offered at stores just a block down the street. The ice cream also does not taste like ice cream. Maybe its made of powdered milk? Their higher end hair care products like Paul Mitchell, Biolagé, and Matix were approx. $5 more over priced compared to the hair salon in the same strip mall area. Realizing my mistake, I returned the rite aid version Biolagè products and used the money to go buy the less expensive, more authentic, and less watered down versions of those products at the salon. Plus I saved enough money to get a dope nail polish from that Rite Aid so it all worked out in the end. Their selection of Essie brand nail polishes were the most extensive I've probably even seen so kudos to them for that. Oh one last thing, the gallons of milk were too over priced for market value. I understand that they can charge $5-6 for milk because college kids who don't know any better will pay for convenience over researching less expensive equivalent grocery products and going to get them from a grocer but come on, $6 for milk? It's the only place in the area with so many random items that going down the aisles is a trip every time. It seems it was made for college students, which is probably why I've been there so many times in a rush or just on my way to a get together. The positive reviews will tell you that the ice cream here is a good deal, and I echo these sentiments. I haven't used the pharmacy much at all, but anything over the counter that is Rite-Aid branded has been useful and comparable to more expensive options. Meds to note: Decongestants, Cough Drops, Nasal Fluid, Multi-Vitamins, Nyquil equivalent. Lines are long most of the time, and the congestion in the middle aisle is annoying if you're trying to get anything in that area. read more
