Not the best Rite Aid location in my opinion. This one is very close to my house but I try to not come here unless I'm desperate. Stock has been bad lately and there are lots of empty shelves and out of stock items. Some employees are nice and some not. The pharmacy has been ok over the years but I've had some issues before. Overall this location is so so. Maybe it's due to the rumors of this location shutting down, I don't know? The store is clean and well lit though. I sent my mom to pick up my prescription- and guess what? Anahit was rude to her has well! People are ill and are just wanting their medications. This is getting worse. Dr. Sending prescriptions yesterday at3.00 pm they call you today that they don't have it and have to order it, will call when it's ready. Then if they fill up one. Avoid this location for all your medication needs, if you need your medications in timely manner this will never happen , got a text from Rite Aid that my medications were ready, then My wife called to verify they were ready and they said they were not ready to wait 15-20 min, we got cut up in some errands and let about 2 hrs pass, you would figure if they said 15-20 min and you show up 2 hours later the medications would be ready!! well to our surprise they were not, and we needed to wait 15-20 minutes, this is absolutely outrageous, they don't care about your well being much less your time, totally unacceptable and disrespectful. 0 stars if I could. Came here several times to pick up a medication that I need, was given the run around everytime by a different person at the pharmacy. On the FIFTH time I came, the pharmacist told me that they don't even carry the medication I need, after repeatedly being told they'll "put it in" for me and to "come back tomorrow". No calls to notify me or anything. I had been out of my meds for a week and experienced horrible symptoms due to this. I'm lucky this medication only had non life threatening withdrawal symptoms, but if it were a more essential medication pertaining to their body functioning correctly, I think someone could be in a lot of trouble. No regard for health and no communication between staff. Entirely unprofessional, and UNSAFE. Currently working to find main pharmacist's license number to file a report with the California Board. Looks like this has happened to others at this location. Feel free to do the same if you get the chance. read more

Kaiser was out of the medication the doctor prescribed so I went into the local, West Hills pharmacy on Platt Ave and Mo, the pharmacist, could not have been more helpful. He called Kaiser multiple times until he got through, got the prescription ready and texted me to come in before closing time. The prescription was for my mother-in-law's very itchy, red eyes....she was in major discomfort for a couple days while Kaiser messed around. Thanks to Mo, she finally got the relief she needed. The Rite Aid in Apple Valley, Ca. Jess Ranch is the worst. Always shirt staffed. Today I had to call 12 times, the pharmacy line kept rolling over to the promp to push 3 for pharmacy, then finally after calling back a few more times, someone answered an immediately put me on hold for over 10 minutes. I called back because I wasn't sure they even knew I was on hold, only to get the same thing for another 10 minutes. Finally after 3 more tries, someone answers. A prescription that my doctor sent over a week ago was not ready and out of stock. I will be awake most of tonight if I even get to sleep. Thank you Rite Aid, you suck. Lucy in the pharmacy was awesome today! I called right when the pharmacy opened (expecting to be on hold for a while), but Lucy answered immediately. She was so helpful in looking up my daughter's prescription and verifying the pills are in stock on the shelf so they could be refilled. It was an emergency where my daughter was out of medicine, and I felt much better after Lucy helped me. She also explained the issue with my daughter's original prescription that led to her being out of pills a whole 12 days early which I have already contacted her doctor about. The new staff at the pharmacy are very rude and disrespectful. They refuse to counsel patients and explicitly tell them to "read the instructions" and "I don't have time." Every time I go into this pharmacy there seems to be an issue with my prescription, and I'm simply told to call my provider to solve the issue, only to then find out that there isn't an issue. I take medication that will give my body shocks and make me dizzy and unable to walk or drive if I don't take it on time, and three times now I've had to skip medication for multiple days because of the unreliability of this pharmacy. I don't want a copy and pasted "customer care" response from the store manager; I want you to fix your pharmacy and stop jeopardizing my health because of your pharmacy's ineptitude. UPDATE: Despite my provider sending new insurance info over three days ago, the pharmacy did not have accurate information and charged me full price for a prescription I desperately needed because of their incompetence and disorganization. Waited an hour and a half, finally got the text that it was ready but was told I had to go wait in the super long line to get it. A prescription of mine ran out of refills so when I called into the auto attendant it said they would contact my doctor to authorize additional refills. That's all well and good. However, the next day when I called to speak to a live Rite Aid person I was put on hold for 15 minutes and told that they would have to contact the doctor again; and that if I did not receive a text by no later than 4 PM that day they were not able to get authorization from my doctor. So 4 PM comes and goes and I call back. I was on hold for 30 minutes so I drove to the pharmacy and arrived there at about 4:45 PM. When I demanded to speak to the person in charge she reprimanded me for raising my voice!!! Mind you I was still on hold (now for 45 minutes) as I'm arguing with her! Since I had to drive there and make a scene they filled my order in under 3 minutes! Meanwhile I'm still on hold going on 50 minutes! I asked the clerk why they hadn't texted me by 4 PM since they had authorization from the doctor at 2:30 PM and all she could do is apologize! (She told me that they got the refill authorization at 2:30 PM) It seems like these morons think they they can do a rotten job but once they apologize all should be forgiven! NOT IN MY BOOK! Rite Aid Pharmacy offers poor service!! Just awful service! And I'll be going to another pharmacy in the future! read more

ANDREA who works in the pharmacy, never has a smile on her face, she looks like she's had a bad day every time I'm there which is basically monthly since I get meds each month. I have mixed feelings about this review. The Rite aid closer to me was recently closed due to repeated incidents of violent crime at the location (Topanga & Ventura).. This is now the closest Rite-Aid to me. I knew it was dingier, older, just sort of less on every level. Went in several times in the last couple days for prescriptions. Pharmacists were very friendly and helpful, cashiers at the front, also very nice. Mixed results with the people who help you when you come to pick up your prescription. Some are nice, some clearly wish they were somewhere else. Primary complaint however is about the restroom. They screwed up my prescription, twice, and I had to wait for about an hour while they got the details correct. During that time I needed to use the restroom--oh my goodness what a mistake that was. The restroom is the only one in the store and is shared by staff and customers. It is located in the stockroom in the back, and frankly I was afraid of catching something in there. Absolutely filthy. Every single surface coated in years of grime and who knows what else. Absolutely disgusting. The floor was sticky and filthy. I spoke with one of the guys at the front cash registers about this today, and he said they clean it everyday but people coming in off the street to use it just trash it constantly. This Rite-aid feels very rundown and low rent. I have often gone to the Rite-Aid on Kanan road in Agoura Hills, and let me tell you, it is a world of difference. Clean, classy, well maintained, everyone is polite, you get the feeling that they care a whole lot more about that store. This West Hills location feels like a low rent CVS. Yuck. read more

For a pharmacy, they certainly have no compassion. They keep certain critical , but non prescription items behind in the pharmacy area where you need to ask pharmacy attendant to get it for you. But if you show up even a minute after the pharmacy section closing time , despite all the staff hanging in the area , they will refuse to give you the life saving product with smirk on their face. I don't do pharmacy stuff here, nor do I shop here often. But, the few times I have been here to quickly pick something up, the experience has been decent. There don't seem to be too many people on the floor to assist customers, but I haven't found the need to ask, so I'm good there. There are usually only one, maybe two, cashiers, but I haven't found a long line ever. The last time I was there, the woman helped me to save a few bucks with their "Wellness Card," which was nice. I'm not going to rave about a Rite-Aid, but it's a quick, easy place to run in if you just need one or two things. read more

I come to Rite Aid for 2 things-ice cream and rX; ok, maybe 3 things-nail polish. Did you know Rite Aid sells "Thifty" brand ice cream and they make hard to find flavors , like Chocolate Malted Crunch and Circus Animal (those pink n white cookies). This location is newly redone, it looks completely different now (2014). There's at least 3 familiar friendly faces, people that have worked here for years. read more

Terrible service, long lines, little information and extremely long waits. Last night dropping off, they took my prescription and disappeared for 10 min...not to fill it, just to see if they could. No information, no apologies, and then acted put out when I asked if I should stay or continue shopping while they filled it. During the day this shopping center is pretty nice, but at night all the valley creepsters seem to find their way here. If I ever make a late night run for something, I know to be on high alert.
