After having Bi-Mart pharmacy for 40 years, this pharmacy is no comparison. You phone in your refill 2 days ahead of going in to pick it up. I stand in line for 15 minutes and it's not even started even though they have a phone system to facilitate refills. The staff had no understanding that I only had my lunch hour to pick this up and didn't like my asking what to do differently if the phone system doesn't work to get a refill. They all started getting defensive instead of trying to understand that their system sucks and they were wasting my valuable time. I had to leave there without getting my refill because they were taking so long and I had to get back to work. Now, I have to go back again today. YOU SUCK RITE-AID read more

Cheap entertainment If you're short on cash, but still want some entertainment, just hang out at this rite aid late on a Saturday night- some nonsense is always going down. During the day this shopping center is pretty nice, but at night all the valley creepsters seem to find their way here. If I ever make a late night run for something, I know to be on high alert. The redeeming factor about this rite aid is it is getting a nice remodel and the employees can be friendly enough. Rite Aid is certainly an experience. After going through a rebranding process and a similarly impactful remodeling process, the overall atmosphere and purpose of Rite Aid still has not changed significantly. Someone I know often goes to Rite Aid to pick up their prescription medication there, and they have found it fairly consistent and relatively streamlined. However, Rite Aid is a pharmacy and still is a pharmacy, not a supermarket or a convenience store. Strategically placed shelves full of unorganized and overpriced goods line the sides of the store next to the path that leads from the entrance to the actual pharmacy. Excluding the over-the-counter drugs that would be fit to be in a pharmacy, all the other nearby products take up valuable space and maintenance costs. But only the most price ignorant people on the planet would ever buy these items, as they are often listed on a huge markup. Someone that I know very well once bought a small pack of 10 hot glue gun sticks for a project from the store for roughly $6 (This was in pre-pandemic times around 2016). When they got home and checked the prices online, they realized they had bought it at a rip-off price since a bulk bag of 50 hot glue gun sticks was roughly the same price on Amazon. Even common retail brands like Walmart and Target provided cheaper prices. No one besides the uneducated or the truly desperate is going to go buy anything else from Rite Aid besides medication, and leaving those overpriced products on the shelves is a waste of time and money to both the company and the consumer. read more

This rite aid has the best pharmaceutical staff that exists anywhere. I grew up at the Topanga branch and ventured into mom and pop pharmacies, later into Walmart, cvs and etc for different family members I picked up for. No way in any world do they match up to my rite aid pharmacy on platt. They are the most knowledgeable employees, obviously educated. They are attentive and so helpful!!! Never have to ask twice. If it's under the rainbow they will fix it for you with their super powers! And they are all sweet, courteous and easy on the eyes for you old boys out there. I love tge Platt Pharmacy as it has been my local pharmacy for many many years, I would say over 2 decades now. Every time I have an interaction with the rep. named Anna my experience turns out very uncomfortable. It seems I cannot ask questions as she is impatient in her replies where other reps are friendly and give clear replies. I'm a delivery driver and while I was out on my route my mask broke. I went in to buy a new one and was immediately scolded and humiliated by one of the cashiers. I didn't even make it two steps in before she started yelling at me in front of her line and kicked me out. I have never been more embarrassed walking into a business in my life. Unbelievable! This has to be the worst pharmacy. I made an appt. for the flu vaccine. I waited 25 (20 min. after my scheduled time) and finally left. They were not that busy, just very slow as I watched two individuals and an elderly couple be told their prescriptions weren't ready. The elderly couple before me was told it would be 15 min. They were still waiting when I left. One customer indicated she was informed if was ready two days ago. *sigh* read more

This Rite Aid was very safe and well-prepared for customers during this pandemic. Social distancing positions at check out were very clearly marked and the cashier was masked and very careful. The line moved quickly and I was in and out in a speedy fashion. It's good to know this establishment is taking COVID 19 seriously and values the health of its customers and staff. Dropped in recently one evening to grab a toothpaste when they had a special store coupon that made it free. There was no line, no wait times. In and out. The people who work in the pharmacy department needs to be re-trained properly. There's absolutely no excuse for them to be telling me my insurance doesn't work for my pain medication (which I just got out of surgery you really think I wanna argue back and forth?) because they couldn't do their job correctly and simply look for my profile. After going back and forth for an HOUR IN PAIN, the Asian lady after cutting me off every time I tried to speak, told me it doesn't matter what I tell her she can't help me just for her to turn around and apologize literally right after because she found my information. I've been a customer for many years and this was a giant inconvenience and I will never use a rite aid pharmacy EVER again. If she would've just listened to me the first time this wouldn't have been a problem. I feel embarrassed to have gone through this. read more

Still a huge disappointment! MAN i miss the times when you could come in here for a ice cream scoop for under $.50. Anyway, I have used the pharmacy here and it's beyond words. I thought the pharmacy I go to now is bad. But each time I get bad service all I have to do is think about how bad this place was. Their pharmacy is not even worth writing about! The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the service at the front has been getting better. There is always a line no matter what time your there. Lately they have been getting through the line faster and it SEAMS like they care a little more about what your doing. Don't even bother trying to find the layout of the store, It's lost in some matrix. It is so hard to find what you need here, but again they seam to be trying a bit harder to help you out in that area. Parking is fantastic here that is a massive plus! TIP - make sure you have your loyalty card or remember your number. The prices are absorbent unless you use your card. Then they will get a bit cheaper. Enjoy! read more

When I think of a corporate pharmacy that has a decent shopping experience, I think of CVS, but that's more about the esthetics of the store, rather than the service. I've found the service at most corporate pharmacies is just crap. The Rite Aid on Platt, is not the most esthetically pleasing shopping experience. I find the layout of the store to be rather confusing and merchandising, haphazard and jumbled. What I have found about the store is the service at the front has been consistently friendly and helpful. That's why they're getting three, rather than two stars. There's a young woman who I see every now and then and she's always outgoing and friendly. Always wants to make sure I'm getting my loyalty program discount even though I always forget my card. I don't really like going into Rite Aid's but I'll go into this one because of the people. read more

I love the ice cream they serve here, but I dread going in to buy it. There's nobody to man the counter, so one of the employees, who was most likely manning the cash drawer up front, has to come over to serve the inevitable line that has formed. Those employees REALLY don't like having to do that -- or anything else in the store, really. They're almost patently unpleasant, which makes going into Rite Aid a chore, unless you yourself are antisocial and looking for zero social interaction. read more

I've noticed that they remodeled ,this store on ,Platt and Victory, and the one on Topanga and Ventura, very earthy , clean, and a wide inventory ! They still have that awesome ,Thrifty Ice Cream. Both stores are open 24 hours. They are not dumpy at all ! It's light and airy ,the staff is friendly and helpful ! I think you'll be pretty happy shopping here. A pharmacist who is new at Rite Aid 6410 Platt Ave, West Hills CA would not refill my prescription that I have been getting FOR YEARS AT THE SAME LOCATION AND THE SAME DOCTOR INCLUDING LAST MONTH. She said she didn't approve of the dosage even though I got a pre authorization the same day as the refill request due to switching insurance plans. I don't feel that a pharmacist can contact my doctor to discuss my health and her opinions on my dosage. No prior pharmacist there has ever questioned this prescription and she saw my record showing years of the same dosage. I feel this violates HIPAA rules. This has caused extreme anxiety for no valid reason.The same pharmacist also allowed the wrong medication to be delivered on the same day for a different medical issue which can have an adverse effect taken with the prescription I had picked up the previous day. There were 2 medications prescribed and one was a gel. The one delivered is a capsule which may cause nerve damage when combined with the other. I spoke to my doctor who told me she did not authorize the medication yet the pharmacist put the blame on the doctor saying it was prescribed but cancelled. They are still liable for delivering the wrong medication and it is their responsibility to contact the patient to alert them not to take it if any mistake on their part occurred. I feel the pharmacist didn't like my complaint, therefore denied my prescription. read more

I picked up my daughter's prescription today in person. The service was unacceptable. The woman behind the counter was verbally rude. While I patiently waited for her to hand me the medication, she did other things, this was after the transaction had gone through - we were not waiting for the cash register; it was just me waiting for her. When I asked if there were any special instructions, I was rudely told to, "read the front of the package", which I will do; however, I don't believe this is the kind of customer service Rite Aid wants to be known for especially since there are so many other options in the marketplace. Also, I did read the sign about being kind and patient because of staffing problems, COVID, etc. I was patient, and I was polite. Being busy at work isn't an excuse for rude behavior. I just changed med providers and have never used this pharmacy so I thought I would try it. The person who first helped me at the counter was really nice but then the pharmacist came for a consult and was rude, short and it appeared I was a huge inconvenience to her. When I returned two days later to get my last of 3 medications there was a diff person worked the counter and she was rude not only to me but the customer in front of me and even small things like your welcome or a smile was absent. Super disappointed and I will now be finding a new pharmacy. No excuse for unfriendly behavior when ur in a service industry. read more

I have been going to this Rite Aid for the last 15 years. Within the last couple of years they have gone down the drain. I am truly done with their pharmacy. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but every time I do I come out disappointed. Last week was the fourth time they either meds up my medication or don't have it ready. After waiting, im told the medication is it's not available. It gets better, they proceed by telling me to go to the Calabasas location. I got smart and told them to contact them to make sure they had the medication. yep you're right, Calabasas did not have the medication. I decided to go to CVS less than half a mile away and got my medication with no problem. This is just terrible! Oh I forgot to mention, I was sent to the drop off lane and had to wait for approximately 10 minutes while the lady in the front kept on answering phone call after phone call. I couldn't believe it no acknowledgment. So I had to tell her let me know when she was ready to take me. My gosh! Get it together! read more

The pharmacists are incredibly rude and condescending, especially the woman with black hair. I've had issues the past 3 times here. They call telling me that my prescriptions are ready, but when I go to pick them up the next day I still have to wait for them to be filled. The last time I was told it would be a 20 minute wait, however I was here for over an hour while the pharmacist kept trying to tell me that I didn't have insurance which is absolutely ridiculous because I had my insurance card in my hand. She even went as far as to claim that it wasn't a real insurance card. I had to ask for my prescription back several times so that I could get it filled elsewhere before they would give it back. And even then she was incredibly rude about it. Needles to say, I will not be spending another penny here. The quality of service is absolutely appalling. read more

I used to go here since I am local but I had a bad customer service issue with Niro and Barbara. I was treated terribly and went above their status which I received an apology by telephone. Hello, what about my dignity? My situation was handled improper and staff is in need to be trained correctly. Customers are ALWAYS right. The situation was concerning western union located in Rite Aid which I pay my mother's mortgage. I had all supporting documents. This was confidential and need to know basis. A line of other customers, strangers to me and, Barbara announcing she needed to know "why I was paying, why my mother couldn't pay, about my mother's disability, why I had so much cash" .. Niro as the store manager needs to be demoted starting from step #1 of training how he handled the situation. When employees are being compensated for their work of duty and time it must include to- learn, respect customers, do your job right regardless how simple or complicated the job responsibility is. Just went to this location with my mother and grandmother. We were looking for an adjustable cane for my grandmother. My mom saw a defective cane on the floor in the store. She told the store manager about it and the store manager didn't seemed to care and gave my mom the "it is what it is" type of response. My mom asked if they had any other ones and she said they didn't. My mom asked to speak to a supervisor and she said she was one.. so we go to check out. The cashier a young man named Brandon went to the back of the store to see if they had canes and magically they did! He was so helpful and went the extra mile. This place is terrible. The people at the front counter are are far from friendly. If you need help good luck. You will have to go on a hunt to find someone. Once you do find a "employee" they are far from helpful. The pharmacy if even possible it is worse than the front counter. I always call my prescription in ahead and it is never ready. There is always a line due to the slow pace of the staff. In my opinion stay away from this place. The last thing that you want is idiots dosing your meds. read more

Someone neglected to put one of those peel-off UPC labels for scanning purposes, despite explicit directions on the packaging to do so, so we had to wrestle our collapsible gazebo / tent on top of the counter so that the cashier could read it (with zero help from customer service). Then the barcode scanner refused to work. So the salesperson started ringing up a different customer's purchases. Without telling us. She just walked away to another register after telling us the barcode scanner wasn't working. (Question: As the barcode scanner wasn't working, wouldn't you have had to ring up our purchase at a different register anyway? Sooo... What was the point of walking away without us?) The manager, an older gentleman, came to help out and tell a second employee what to do to take care of us. He was very nice and helpful, and he alone saved the place from getting 2 stars. +++++ Edit: The tent ripped upon trial set-up. It was still usable, but why keep it if it's so cheaply made? It might not hold up to more than a few uses, and we did not end up using it at all for its intended purpose, to provide shade during our outdoor wedding. read more

If I could give the pharmacy at this Rite Aid negative stars I would! Their customer service and respect for a customer's medical privacy is absolutely HORRIBLE! Do yourself a favor and take your business to CVS, Walgreens, or anywhere else besides this location... even the pharmacist is rude. Why in the world would Rite Aid hire customer facing associates who are far from helpful? It just makes no sense. On Friday around 11:00 a.m. my doctor's office called in 4 prescriptions for me and spoke with Nelly who informed them they would be ready later that day for me to pick up. I came into the store that evening (e.g. 6:00 p.m. or so) and only 1 prescription was ready... the associate who helped me acted as if they didn't even know about the other 3 prescriptions. Finally after I gave her the name of the associate that my doctor's office spoke with and she did further research she told me that they needed to order two of the prescriptions and would not receive it until after 5:00 p.m. on Monday evening. How does that help me when I needed to start taking the medication on Friday night??? If Rite Aid provided good customer service they should have let my doctor's office or me know they didn't have the medication so the prescriptions could have been transferred elsewhere. By the time I got to the pharmacy and found out the status of my prescriptions it was too late for me to get ahold of my doctor's office and now I am stuck waiting until Monday. To make matters worse when I asked about my fourth prescription the associate helping me at the register spoke loudly enough to converse with the pharmacist, who was in behind the glass section of the pharmacy not near the register, about the status of the prescription, including the kind of medication I am taking. The pharmacist was frustrated, obviously working on something else, and did not want to be bothered to help me. Rather than coming and speaking with me privately she began responding curtly and loudly (so customers in line could hear my private medical information) that I have to wait for the specific medication because it is not time for my refill and insurance wouldn't cover it, and that I would just have to wait for the other prescriptions as well. I'm so disappointed that I have spent money regularly shopping at this location. After I pick up my prescriptions on Monday I will avoid this location and Rite Aid like the plague. If Rite Aid corporate cared about its customers I would have thought it would have taken the previous Yelp reviews from other unsatisfied customers seriously and done something about the level of poor customer service at this pharmacy location. Had a horrible experience here came in Friday 5/18 to drop off a prescription was told it would only take one hour to fill. Before I came back to pick up the medication I was told by the pharmacy they are backed up and it would take another 30 minutes to fill. After I had waited 30 minutes I arrived to the store to pick up the medication they told me to sit down it would take another 20 minutes which was already ridiculous. After waiting about 15 minutes I was then told by the pharmacist "Marco" that he was a replacement and he did not realize he did not have the medication in stock, to leave the prescription with him and it would be ready Monday. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited the whole weekend then when Monday arrived I spoke to the regular pharmacist whom I didn't grab her name and she told gave me her apologies which I respected and told me to give her till Friday afternoon to have it ready. Now as Friday arrives I call the rite aid not to be answered by a pharmacist but by a very ill mannered rude woman named "Nelli" she refused to answer any of my questions repeatedly raised her voice over the phone and hung up the phone on me. This is the worst experience I've ever had when it comes to a rite aid pharmacy and don't recommend anyone going back to them.
