Judgemental and rude rude rude. I went in there and nobody was there to greet me. AT ALL. It was deader than dead, not like someone was busy helping someone else. I ran to the bathroom and came out and was informed that the bathrooms were for "paying customers only". How would he have known that I wasn't going to sit down and have a meal. At that point there was no way in hell I was going to. I then told him if it was a problem I'd be happy to order something and eat it and was informed "no no not a problem, BUT NEXT TIME you cannot use the restroom". As if I'm some homeless person or something that comes in there all the time to use their restroom. I had NEVER been in there before in my life. And I will NEVER return. Let me be perfectly clear. As a mom, I may not have been dressed 100% stylishly (jeans and a hoodie), and while I may not have taken a shower this morning, I most certainly had one yesterday afternoon. It wasn't like I stank, or had holes in my clothes, or looked like some sort of social degenerate. My fiance and I came here on a Monday night because we've heard rave reviews about it. So we walk in and after about 2-3 minutes of us standing in the doorway, we are sat by the one person who is serving the entire restaurant, bartending and hosting all at once. He had left the table before we had even sat down. Then another person (I think a bus boy type) brought us some salsa. Man, that is some hot salsa. Good thing we had water! Oh wait, we didn't get water until we asked for it when our guacamole appetizer came. I asked for a margarita on the rocks and it came out frozen. Our server didn't come back for a good 10+ minutes so I couldn't even ask for it to be remade because I was dying from the salsa. We finally got out entrees and they were decent. I had the deluxe fajitas and the shrimp was overcooked and dry. My fiance had a combination plate and liked it. I have to say that my experience at this place has not been the best in the past but today was so different. The food is always pretty good the Margaritas are great the guacamole has always been great but the service left so much to be desired and that just kind of ruins your eating experience today I have been blown away. My girlfriends and I had an ongoing joke of their dubious. Today.... Every single aspect of our experience here has been a plus. David our server was attentive and kind. We tried a new dish called the molcajete and I was very impressed. It's a house specialty. I wish the onions would have been done a little bit more because they were actually inedible but the steak and the chicken and the cactus we're incredible. The sausage was a bir dry But the green sauce it comes in was so flavorful and delicious. I'm so glad they either changed or trained their servers in customer service because that made this entire experience a plus. Oh and did I mention that their Margaritas were fabulous. Changing my review to 1 star. We had a drink at the bar and paid the bartender. At the end of our meal, the waiter basically called us liars and said we should be honest next time. I'm kinda disappointed with Rito's of late. Our group of 5 stopped in on Sunday afternoon for lunch. All the lights were off. The restaurant was open but they didn't have any lights turned on. That just didn't say welcome to our restaurant. I felt like I was bothering the staff by being there. Our server was just meh. I've gone here and the service has been excellent. But apparently go on an off time and it's bad. I wanted to order a beer-margarita. The table next to me had one and I'm even pointing to that table ("I want that one!"). He kept pushing me to the flaming margarita special. I understand there's a communication gap but c'mon. Finally I gave up and ordered a frozen margarita. Really enjoyed the food- had the sampler plate- fresh tasty ingredients, lots of flavors. The Chile Relleno was AMAZING. I enjoyed the enchiladas quite a bit as well. I think I inhaled a basked of chips with their salsa too. They had margaritas on special- wow- it was so tasty and really strong. They were also really accommodating to my friend's 2 year old- gave her things to color, had a kids menu, and even made a fake kids margarita (pink lemonade with limes on the rim of the kids styrofoam cup.) Rito's: one of the best places to get Mexican food in Aurora! The food at Rito's is outstanding! From the pre-meal chips and salsa to the leftovers you'll undoubtedly be snacking on at 3 AM, everything tastes fresh and flavorful. I recommend the Tacos Al Pastor! For drinks, I usually just have a Modelo, though I'm told the margaritas are outstanding. One small warning: it CAN get really packed in there from time to time (I guess that's what happens when you serve good food!) Ritos has very good mexican food. I had the green salsa enchiladas. They were muy bueno. For an appetizer I had the queso fundido. A great choice along with some tortillas. All in all, good cuisine. The restaurant itself leaves something to be desired. The seating is poor. There are benches along the walls that are hard and the 'back rest' is the wall. Additionally, it's a family restaurant but there's arcade games there which are a bit distracting during your dinner conversation. Another complaint is the lack of quality margaritas. The basic margaritas are passable, but no top shelf selections Only three stars. I would return to give them another shot because the food is so good. Well- I was excited to head to this restaurant after all the great reviews. Yikes- seriously mexican food isn't real hard to make. I've never had dry mexican food until today. The Chile Relleno was soggy, the Tamale- was DRY, the Enchilada had no flavor, the Taco was a soggy mess, after eating the the Chimi- I wanted to say-"where's the beef?". Now the Margarita was ok- but I was smashed after 1/3 of it- not what I was looking for when going out with the family for dinner. The very first time I came here, I enjoyed Rito's and planned on coming back a lot. But coming the second time, now I'm not so sure. We were the only ones in the restaurant because we arrived when they were going to be closing soon. Our server greeted us, and pretty much never came back. I understand if they are busy that their service slows down, but we were the only ones in the restaurant and it was completely unacceptable for how long it took. Also, when he finally did come back, it took him an ENTERNITY to take our order. When we finally got our food, the food was good. I enjoyed my food and that was pretty much the only part of the experience that mirrored my first experience at Rito's. I not positive I would be coming back. One of the best things this place offers is the mole sauce. Most are too sweet, but here it has the perfect balance. The queso dip was really good, as was my meal. I had the Acupulco combo. It had Carne Asada, a taco, and an enchilada. Very tasty. None of it was to die for, but I left happy and full. My gf loved it. I will definitely be back to try other offerings. I pass this place twice a day. I always ignored it because of how bad the previous restaurant "Cucina Barro" was. Been to Rito's off Montgomery Rd more times than we could count pre covid, truly loved their food and margs! Tonight we ordered dinner to be delivered from them to help out a local restaurant. When it came we were missing an entire meal, so I called to let them know. They proceeded to tell me that they could not have the missing meal delivered, so I asked if they could bring it to me if I drove over to avoid going into what sounded in the background like an overly busy restaurant. They said no, they were too busy and couldn't do that (mind you they mention offering curbside pickup if requested on their website). I asked them why my business was any less important than the customers dining in there now, and asked them just to refund the meal. They refused and said that I would need to drive there and go into get my refund. When I told them that they were not being very accommodating considering they messed up and that I didn't want to have to submit a negative review after enjoying their restaurant often pre-covid. I asked how I get my refund short of disputing the charge, and they proceeded to ask me "is that the kind of customer you want to be?" Oh, you mean the kind of customer hat expects to get what they paid for, and that if a mistake is made that you make completely rational accommodations due to the error? Then yes, I certainly do! Needless to say we will NOT be enjoying $5 margarita night after covid at Rito's. Mistakes happen, but it's how you accomodate righting those mistakes that retain business. read more

We live about a mile away and tried this restaurant for the first time. Our experience wasn't much different than what we were expecting. This place is always busy and had heard good things about it, about their margaritas and food and they both were just ok. The food lacks flavor and also the spice. It's not much different then what you'll have at Pepe's. Chips and salsa are generic, nothing to rave about. Service was mediocre at the best. I have had better margaritas and mix way better myself, then what you get here. I understand it's reasonable prices on food and a good neighborhood place, without going to go to downtown Aurora, but it didn't hit the spot for us. read more

The staff from the hostess to busboys to waiters were all efficient, friendly and welcoming. Water was refilled promptly, chips were delivered quickly and our sever was genuinely interested in our experience. I suggest arriving early for dinner. I was so surprised that a restaurant in a strip mall that's close to my house could ever be so good and have authentic Mexican food. The puerco guisada was spectacular and the yummy green salsa it was roasted in was made fresh not from any can. The rest of my table had a wide variety of dishes including mole and fajitas. All were really good and at a fair price. It was my first trip and I met the owner, Rito, who was not only making sure everyone was happy, but was quick to help his attentive staff. The margaritas were also made fresh and perfectly too. I have not had a margarita this good since my recent trip to Mexico City. We need to support restaurants like this because they are part of our community, they deserve the same dinner dollars I would spend in the city, and they have earned my return. We came here for lunch, the place was quiet and we stood by the door waiting for someone for about 2 awkward minutes. Finally we were seated and 2 small red and green salsas were brought to our table with a basket of chips. The green salsa was stale but our waiter did not look very friendly so I didn't want to say anything. After waiting a long while for our food and looking at the chips in front of me, I finally mustered up the courage to tell him that the salsa was not good. The waiter looked perplexed, took the green salsa behind the counter and took a taste. He made a "there's-nothing-wrong-with-this face," topped off the same salsa, gave it another taste with the same expression and brought it back to the table. Two glasses of water later, the food came! I got the Flautas with chicken and my husband ordered the Green Enchiladas with chicken. The rice was great, the Flautas were good but the beans were bland. Also, I didn't like how they covered half my Flautas with guacamole, I don't eat them like that, I would have preferred it on the side. My husband said that his Enchiladas were just okay. All in all, the service was mediocre and the food was passable. I will not be returning to this place since there's actual authentic Mexican restaurants out there with better service. read more

I was torn between a 3 or 2 star review but after our last visit I was content with 3 stars. Let me start with we have only been here for lunch and only 5 times but we have only been out here for a year. The lunch service during every meal except the last time we went was awful!! We waited for a check once for over half an hour after our plates were taken!! We always seemed to get the same guy serving us also. This is just my feelings and I have absolutely no idea if it is tue but it kind of felt like he was a relative of the owners and the owners just did not want to have to deal with the rest of the family if they fired him. On to the food. I found it good enough to keep going back. I like the burrito and tacos. My husband like the salsa and chips and is hooked on the steak tacos. I've lived in the area for almost 10 yrs, started coming here 5 yrs ago (wish I had started coming here earlier). My Chilean friend introduced me to this. I usually get the Molcajete or the South of the Border Camaron (it is a spicy dish but you can always ask for spicier). I read some of the comments and some people have said that they salsa is very watered down....in all honesty I have never tried the salsa that they bring to the table. I always ask for the orange one....it is spicy as heck, but, amazing! Service has always been good. The servers recognize repeat guests and now know how I like my South of the Border Camaron. Margaritas on the rock are what I drink. They come in 3 sizes. Anytime I have someone else drive, I go for the large one! Love this place! read more
