We stopped by La Colombe on Saturday afternoon to pick up a chai latte. It was raining, so we decided to enjoy our drinks inside. Upon entering, we were greeted and informed that the espresso machine wasn't working, so we couldn't order a hot chai latte... only iced. The drink itself was extremely sweet; I don't think I've ever had a chai THAT sweet. I think if I were to order it again, I'd probably ask for 25-30% less chai. The coffee shop has plenty of seating available, and it wasn't very busy for a Saturday afternoon. Stopped in La Columbe for a cup of chai tea. The space is in an old brick building still has lots of the exposed brick. Lots of seating is available. You order at the counter. They call your name when your food is done and you can go and pick it up. I love that they have a water station with both still and sparkling water. The chai tea was very good. It had good flavor with some warming spice to it. The milk was frothy. I love that the tea is served in a real cup not paper. My friend had the yogurt parfait which she really liked. It had a good ratio of yogurt, fruit, and granola. read more

Stopped by the Fishtown location of La Colombe in March 2025 and it was good but not great. It feels a bit more worn down - I can't quite put my finger on it. Service is still great, but the drip coffee was kind of bland. Perhaps my taste in coffee has changed - but it seemed like the beans were past their prime (maybe it was a strategy to save on costs). Also, the vanilla doughnut was sub-par. Given how difficult it is to find street parking in Fishtown on a Saturday, I will probably not go to this location again. This coffee place was amazing during the COVID-19 pandemic - but I think the rising cost of coffee (and 2022 price inflation) have led to a slight deterioration in quality. As a flagship location, the space is huge and beautiful. They have savory lunch options. If you want to get some work done, there's wifi and some power outlets. It's a nice place to meet friends for coffee or lunch. You can get a draft latte, which is always a tasty option. read more

La Colombe Fishtown is the Willy Wonka Factory for Coffee. The flagship location for La Colombe, it is very large, spacious, and gorgeous inside, with plenty of tables and chairs. The service is always fantastic with helpful and outgoing baristas. The drinks are all fantastic and the draft drinks are always great and far better than the canned versions they sell. They have plenty of tea options and plenty of sweetener/milk options that are self-serve from the syrups, sugars, oat milk, regular milk, and honey. And there's now (finally) free Wifi. It might be too mainstream for me to say this, but La Colombe is still one of the best coffeeshops in the city. And now the part no one ever talks about: - Water: Philly Water is notoriously not great. That said, not only is there free water here, but it's actually super clean, self-serve, and there's free sparking water. Wha?!? - Restrooms: There are two massive Men and Women's Restrooms here - Accessibility: The entire coffee shop is accessible - Seating: Plenty of seating is an understatement -- there are so many seats across the entire shop. That said even with all the seats, it can get busy during peak times. Enough that you'll probably find a spot as a one man crew, but as a group, it could get tricky. read more

We were extremely impressed with the coffee and food at La Colombe. The hot latte and cappuccino were both very tasty. Strong coffee flavor with good amount of foam. The Egg and cheese sandwich was surprisingly delicious. I usually have low expectations for egg cheese sandwiches but this one was great! There was a sauce that made this sandwich really good. Southwest Mayo I think. Anyway I highly recommend. The ham and cheese croissant was also really great. Extremely crispy and had a wonderful rosemary flavor. Not a coffee girlie (of any variety, hate the taste), so I didn't think I'd be patronizing this place on a Saturday morning. I saw my friends' ordering really yummy food and opted for the breakfast grits (after being convinced by the woman taking my order. She said she has to stop herself from eating it every shift.) BABY. I ordered an iced oat strawberry matcha and their ham croissant, both of which were delicious! The matcha had a nice balance of earthiness and sweetness from the strawberry, and the oat milk made it super smooth. The ham croissant was flaky, buttery, and perfectly savory--definitely a great choice. My boyfriend got a decaf strawberry cortado with oat milk and the gluten-free mudslide cookie. I thought based on the amount of spacing in the area that this would be a small coffee shop. It was a bit bigger than expected with the high ceilings from what was probably formerly a warehouse. A bit of a bigger kitchen and cafe area to be able to sell food and not just run of the mill goodies only. La Colombe has coffee that locals like. This is five star coffee, the service the atmosphere the ambience it's all good. HOWEVER, they have recently stopped serving decaffeinated coffee. Their corporate line is that there's a chemical in it that they want to eliminate. That's great but maybe that's something they should have thought of before they stop serving it. Figure it out first, not later at the customer's expense. That's elemental. If you love their coffee, but you can't drink decaf later in the day, don't bother. You might be offered a decaf espresso, if you don't like that, well, too bad. read more

Food Coming from california, been a fan of their canned lattes for a while so I'm glad to have finally visited one of their locations in Philadelphia. I was first amused by the fact that they have coffees on draft and it was interesting to see. I got the draft cold brew and I asked for almond milk. They served the cold brew to me and gave me the carton of almond milk so I'm glad i was able to control how much i wanted. The coffee itself was really good. Nice deep flavor without being too bitter and overpowering. I went to this place 2 days in a row and both days were pretty good, so i'm glad to see consistency. This location offers so many more options than the location at 6th & Market. I've tried some of the food options and have been impressed - both the slightly premade (like the egg sandwich + bacon) and the assembled sandwiches (ham & butter is a surprisingly delicious treat). They also have a little cold case that offers some of their canned beverages, along with juices and other drinks & snacks. Everyone I've encountered working there is friendly and helpful. La Colombe Coffee is a chain, so I avoided this one for the longest time. However, when I actually visited, I realized that it was a triple threat: a cafe with good food, drinks, and space. La Colombe rotates the items in its menu with different coffee specials. The cashier let me try one drip coffee and even the oatmilk draft, which I ended up getting because of slightly sweet and creamy taste. You can ask to try anything on tap, so highly recommend doing that if you want to try before you buy. Super friendly and helpful service. I got the chocolate frosted donut, which was more moist than expected. Imagine like a sponge with more weight. I also tried the caneles back in NYC at one point and those were good too. The food is about as good as the other trendy cafes around Fishtown. La Colombe is also a calm, convenient place to work. Industrial vibes (pipes and wood) and pretty art. There are a couple of outlets, though there aren't as much as I'd like. Keep in mind the outlets might be occupied at the busiest times. Anyway, go here, don't care if it's a chain. read more

Took myself on a Fishtown adventure day primarily to visit this flagship La Colombe location and it did not disappoint! The exposed interior is truly stunning and well thought out, with tons of convenient seating for groups, dates, and solo workers alike. I went with an oat milk latte on draft as recommended by a number of friends, and it absolutely hit the spot and fueled the rest of my day. The line here moves really fast, and I appreciate that you can grab beans (they have their full line out) on your way up to the counter. I am a sucker for their Nizza roast in my drip coffee maker at home, but coming to their locations is an extra special treat. Bathrooms are also beautiful here and the staff is super friendly. (Not like my typical NYC coffee shop/ co-worker space) Nice selection of roasted coffee, if you want to hear the real coffee nerdy stuff here it is: they have all the good stuff @ 12oz bags - nice verity of origins - one of my favorites- Colombia honey processed yum. A solid looking Kenya. And I love seeing a sample of the roast profile through the box, nice touch. If I could see the actual roast date as opposed to the best used by date I might have grabbed a bag to go - but no price which is a little scary considering one of my favorite coffe shops in AZ is now charging upwards of 30.00 for 10oz ouch. We ordered: an almond croissant (very good) , a SOE (single origin espresso) Ethiopia, cortado traditional espresso profile, and flat white and my mother in law got the Nitro Orchata. My favorites were the double shoot of espresso, and the nitro. They must have worked hard with w/ the nitro recipe bc they nailed it. Creamy, smooth, not overpowering horchata but a nice balence. The double shot/ SOE was dark berrie foward as one would expect of this origin, nice acidity, thinner body but not too thin. AND, AND, sparkling water ON TAP, yes please. We loved that. Another nice touch!! We don't often go to Philly but I would recommend this place and come back. Thx La Colombe. Cool warehouse industrial but comfy feel in this giant coffeehouse. There are an assortment of food options including bakery fare, sandwiches and pizza. Obviously a full coffee, espresso and tea selection, though the mininalist decor does not allow for giant menu boards that you may normally be accustomed to seeing. I looked up the menu on the website beforehand! We ordered two cafe mocha's. My wife wanted a caramel latte but they did not have/offer caramel - which was odd. We ordered a selection of pastries including strawberry donuts, a chocolate croissant and a blueberry muffin to take home. Both the food and beverages were exceptional. The mocha's came with rosettes. (natch) I loved that it was more of dark butter chocolate flavor with full notes of espresso as opposed to sugary sweet chocolate syrups used in other coffeehouses. The staff was friendly and accommodating - I had ordered a 5lb bag of beans from the La Colombe website, and forgot to select a grind so they came whole. I brought the bag with me, and the the staff had no problem grinding it for me while we drank our drinks. Super nice. There is ample free on-street parking around the Frankford Ave area. read more

Stopped by while visiting Philly for the weekend. The space was beautiful and much bigger than you would imagine. Service was incredible. Since it was my first time visiting somewhere like La Colombe, i didnt know what to order. The cashier was so patient and explained the menu and essentially how they made there drinks. There were so many pastries to choose from and there was also a large food menu too. I ordered the pumpkin chai draft latte (hot) and it was okay. It had a very strong pumpkin spice flavor to it, which I enjoyed, but I understand that a strong pumpkin flavor may not be everyones favorite. The quiche was divine. I wish I got two! The only con I have is that they are unable to warm up pastries in store. I wish we had a La Colombe closer so I could try more of their menu items. read more

I would actually give it zero stars if I could. What a horrible experience this morning and a complete waste of $22. The cheese filling on the danish was effervescent so clearly should've been thrown away. The French toast was inedible - burnt ! and of course the old trick of turning it over so nobody would notice, but one bite and then seeing the other side and it was black ! I brought it up to the counter and the girl (wearing the mask)tells me that I should "take it up with the chef". She clearly doesn't know the difference between a cook and a chef but what a response and of course the woman next to her (who is probably the manager) just stands there and smiles. Wasn't expecting to love this place since it's a chain but this might become one of my new fav study spots! I love how spacious the inside is. Also, despite the line being long I felt the service was quick. I ordered the seasonal gingerbread latte, an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, and later I had a hot chocolate. Everything was so good. I wasn't expecting to like the breakfast sandwich as much as I did, but they put this garlic aioli sauce in it which really takes it to the next level. La Colombe was very interesting when I stopped by. It was a late Friday morning when I wanted to find somewhere in the neighborhood to sip on coffee and work. Unfortunately, it was not what I expected. I wanted to love it here, but did not. It's definitely a spacious, nice location where a lot of people grab coffee and work. It looked like there are different spots in the back and upstairs to reserve and conduct meetings. I didn't expect it to be so packed. I had to wait around for a little to find somewhere to work, which was a bit frustrating. I ordered an iced caramel coffee, but they did not offer that. Instead, I was given just coffee w/ ice and had to add my own sugar, milk, and some syrup they had. The coffee was fine. Also, grabbed a "ham & butter sandwich". The bread was super hard to bite into. Eventually, got used to it and it was fine too. The staff seemed friendly. La Colombe does not offer wifi. Thankfully, I have a hotspot. I did not notice any outlets close to where I was seated. If I go back, I would try maybe their cappuccino, a pastry, and work late afternoon when it seemed to be more open seating. Parking is pretty nonexistent. Gratefully, found a parking location nearby. read more

Took a trip to the highly anticipated La Colombe Coffee of Fishtown. The entrance is reminiscent of a speak easy. The Sign painted on the outward facing brick (in black, its easy to miss! But soooooo cool) and a huge glass double door(which was nice on this 20 degree day to keep the wind out). When you walk in there is a "starbucks-esque" feel-- but at the same time it gave elevated, high-end, and curated. If you ever want to impress a business partner or if you're a TikTok girlie looking for content spots--you've found your spot. Just from the interior design alone. It is truely beautiful inside. When you walk in, to your left there is merch for sale and a refridgerated cooler that holds fresh pressed juice and sandwiches. There are also no shortage of pastries of sandwiches--lots of variety. I went up to the front and ordered. The barista was very friendly--we had a chuckle because I always forget my order when I get to the front of the line(I order the same thing everytime). Lol. I ordered my standard Vanilla Latte( almond milk, light foam, heavy on the latte art). I would give it a 3.5 out of 5. It was a bit sweet for me, but the rest of the latte was prefect. Next time, I will ask for less vanilla syrup. A staple coffee shop in Philadelphia, La Colombe never disappoints! Definitely in my top 5 coffee spots in Philly, this location is not only clean, but also spacious and airy. Plenty of seating inside, but no outdoor tables. Take advantage of free water and seltzer to keep you hydrated as you drink your coffee. Top con: no wifi!! Pets are not allowed which is a negative about this place since dogs are allowed inside neighboring cafés. I really wanted a breakfast sandwich. But I had a question about the eggs on the sandwiches. Because I like my eggs well done. The young lady started that they might be well done. They might be a little jelly, and I changed my mind and just purchased other items. And the coffee was so good. I like it black with two splender. I took my treats to go. I went to my car and started it realizing that I forgot that I didn't get myself something sweet. So I got back out of my car. And looked back, and someone wanted my parking spot. The parking around their is limited. I put my finger up to let the person know I'll be right back, so I ran back into the store to grab me something sweet. While in line, this man was telling me about the banana nut bread and said everyone loved everything here. So I ordered two of them and blueberry muffin, apple donut, vanilla donut, and a ham and cheese croissant. I will be back and bring my husband back because he loves hot chocolate, and I'll have a cup of coffee. I was surprised that they did put coffee art drawing on my cappuccino (usually you only get it on latte)! Their coffee was smooth & aromatic (not too bitter or sour). This place is a prefect spot for WFH or studying or get your work done when you don't want to stay in your home if you need some white noise as background sound.
