My wife and I decided to " Take the Plunge" and invest into an RV large enough to live in full time, easy to tow, and having the ability to accommodate an office for online work. So.. ok... the Plunge began almost two years ago. So we looked, online, in person, visiting seemingly an endless number of dealers who all . . . All who put in their own two cents that in my own opinion wasn't worth pig iron scrap to me. I've been involved with RV'S in the collision repair and maintenance side for 35+ years all in structural integrity and preventative maintenance. Now a lot of the new features such as electronic panels, four and six point leveling systems, and built in WiFi are areas I did not have any experience with. So as we looked I took notes and researched the new fancy stuff. So our search had taken us from here Southern Oregon, to Coos Bay, Northern California, Nevada, and even in Arizona. 2+ yrs. . . We also decided that to get the most bang for our dollar it would be best to look for pre owned. Now though we had looked in various towns and states we decided to take a peek at the dealer where we bought our first 'camp' trailer 8 years ago. RIVER CITY RV. So after glancing at the online inventory they had we went out to take a peek. There we met a jolly and well informed person named Frank Baskins. He didn't know the flavor of the month, but he did know RV'S. Which he attained from being in the RV Retail business about as long that I've been into repairing them. We sized each other up ,and soon found that we both were full of information that earned a mutual respect for each other. Frank took notes of what we were looking for, and what needs were more important so to find us a match. After our initial visit which was almost two hours, we took his card and told him we will need to think. We left knowing our dealer search was over, FRANK was going to find us our home. Severally weeks later we returned to look again we wanted to see what was in. We knew FRANK was going to guide us. He remembered our names, and what features were important to us. We (the wife) found with FRANKS help found the one... it checked off all the boxes This journey went on for about 6 to 8 weeks, each time we went over to see what's new FRANK knew who we were. We selected a 2year old pre-owned unit. We traded in our 18' camp trailer for a 41' 5th wheel. And RIVER CITY RV and FRANK BASKINS was with us all the way. Prior to delivery, RIVER CITY RV had preformed a Pre-Delivery Inspection to assure that everything was in good working order. Even the service tech RICK going the extra mile to fabricate a corner trim that wasn't able to locate. The service team manager MIKE, after delivery walked me over the phone how to troubleshoot and correct the control panel, which was super easy. This was AFTER delivery....... This dealer has the team who places the customer number One! An additional caveat... remember when I mentioned we made the decision that RIVER CITY RV & FRANK was going to sell us our next RV we NEVER received one call asking if we were ready to buy yet. So River City made it so I couldn't do an update on my review on google after the owner called me a douche! Lol so let's review River City here. 7 years ago they sold us an RV that was totally junk. And I mean JUNK! The salesperson totally lied to us said the batteries were new and they were 6 years old . Then the plumbing under the sink all came apart on our first camping trip . And that's just the tip of the iceberg there were so many things wrong with that trailer it was ridiculous . I left a review back then and here we are years later and today that trailer is a beautiful sound trailer because of what we did to it . River City RV is a rip-off and if you buy them don't say you weren't warned the owner called me a liar and a douchebag he also said that I only give one star reviews but if you look me up on Google you'll see I forgiven over 300 reviews and only a few one-star reviews River City RV will sell you total junk if they can buy or beware go somewhere else go to caveman RV go to Medford just go somewhere else do not give your hard-earned money to these Liars read more

We had visited River City RV a few times while visiting family. The atmosphere is more of a family place rather than a sales floor. During the Summer of 2020 so many people were buying RVs some places we visited throughout the Southwest ignored us because of our budget. Not River City RV. We saw the perfect trailer while in a campsite in Flagstaff, called Keith at River City and he pulled some impressive strings to get us the very next one available once the factory re-opened during the Pandemic. Constant emails and texts kept us satisfied everything was being handled. Right on schedule he texted a photo of our trailer and I drove the 6 hours to pick it up. No pressure, no hurry, they took the time to explain features, safety practices, everything. Some places we got the "You mean you have a trailer and didn't know that?" but not at River City. They even took the time to show me how to set up the EQ hitch properly and included plenty of supplies to get us started. If you are within 6-7 hours or Grants Pass, consider bypassing everyone else and going direct to River City RV. Ask for Keith. Coffee in the lobby isn't so bad either. read more

What RV dealership doesn't have their parts department open on a Saturday?? If someone needs to repair their RV on the weekend, because they work during the week, how are they supposed to accomplish that when you're closed on Saturdays? Scott Busby (who deserves 6 stars) gave us so much of his time, showing us anything and everything we were thinking about. His knowledge is unsurpassed (for his experience and time in the business) We had a laundry list and he found our perfect match. He was so encouraging (my nervousness of driving an RV)and offered so many common sense tips to having an amazing experience being RV owners. We were absolutely appalled at the way we were treated. We went into the sales room, the salesman (Nick) came out, and walked us to the far end of the lot where all the used fifth wheel trailers were all wedged together. He spent about two minutes with us. He told us information was printed on the windows about the model numbers, and, if we needed information about price, to write down thenumbers, let him know, and he would look it up for us. He then walked away and never came back. To say he was rude and unprofessional would be an understatement. We were genuinely shopping for a fifth wheel and prepared to make a purchase. read more

F'd up the wiring on my truck when installing 7 pin trailer connector. Brake lights burn out after tapping brake once. Lights on my truck cap no longer work and neither do the ones on the trailer I bought from them. Costing me more money for an automotive electrician to rip everything out and start over. read more

They were ready and waiting, with rv fully powered up for us- price had been negotiated with Gary before we arrived, and our financing was pre-approved so the process was seamless! We visited here on 7-6-20. When we drove in, we were the only customers there. No other cars were parked in customer parking. When we got out of the truck there were three employees sitting on the green golf cart in front of the building, not a single person said hi or anything welcoming. I finally asked where the toy haulers where and after a few minutes of awkward silence one male finally said there are some in the back of the lot and pointed in a direction. I guess we were supposed to walk blindly by ourselves with no help? We were there looking for over 2 hours and not one sales person offered any help. We did see several couples who arrived after us talking with sales people and saw one couple being offered bottled water. I have never felt so infuriated with the lack of help than at this place. I would never buy from here. My wife and I felt utterly humiliated since obviously we were not good enough for those employees to get off their butts and help us. When we were getting back to our truck two of the sales people were still sitting on the golf cart. Please avoid this business at all costs. If they ignore people like this, just imagine how they will treat you if you need warranty work or regular repair work. read more

Stopped in to find a travel trailer and got Keith as our salesman. Keith showed us the first camp trailer and I didn't care for the floor plan. My husband asked me if I liked the floor plan We seen at a different establishment and Keith immediately said to us , "fine if you like low-quality go with that one." I left immediately and didn't waste anymore of my time with this guy. This was our first impression and we won't go back. We have visited almost all RV places in the area and this was the only place where we encountered terrible customer service. We recently bought a fifth wheel from them. Keith was our salesman. He was super low pressure and very knowledgeable. They have tons on their lot, new and used. They do a in depth inspection before you haul away the trailer. At pick up the service tech walks you through the trailer functions and everything. They even put new tires on ours because they were starting to wear and we had a long trip back home. Everyone was very friendly. Low key environment. This is one of the few times I have walked away with no regrets after a big purchase. I would highly recommend them, even if you have to drive a bit to get there. read more

River City RV is now located in Grants Pass. I agree the purchase of our new Bighorn was painless with exceptional service. That however came to an abrupt halt when we needed some service and maintenance performed. We needed an awning replaced and some work done on the refrigerator.I was told to bring it in on Wed. Aug. 6th When I dropped it off I was told I would get a call the following Monday or Tuesday. When I did not receive a call I made a call to them on Tues.Aug.12th and the person who took my call said she would leave "Mike" a message. On Wed. 8/13 having not received a return call i went into the store and talked to Mike who told me that the awning was not finished yet and he would call me the following Mon or Tues. (Aug.18 or 19) Having not received a call from anyone I went back to the store and Mike told me the awning is not finished yet and it would be done by the end of the week. (Aug.22) If my RV is complete by the third promised date it will have taken a total of 16 days counting week ends to complete some minor maintenance. I understand it is a busy time of the year but it would have been very considerate of River City to have me bring the RV in at a time where I would not have to leave it until they could get around to it as I store my RV inside when not in use and do not like it outside in 90 to 100+ degree days when not necessary. If the service improves I will certainly write another Yelp. The sales dept. gets 5 stars but unfortunately the maintenance so far is at a one. I returned to River City today Aug. 21 to check on my Bighorn RV. I walked to the back lot and discovered that nothing what so ever had been done to date since Aug. 6 when I dropped it off. Needless to say I will not have it back as promised. The service manager lied to my face at least three separate times since I brought the RV in for service.I spoke to Gary the owner of River City about this issue. He spoke with Mike and I was told I will get a call by noon on Saturday, Aug 23. Seventeen days after the RV was dropped off and eleven days after it was originally promised. Bought a cougar trailer just over a year ago. Beautiful camper. Shortly after getting it we had a couple issues that we couldn't deal with right away because we were living in it while buying our house. Long story short, I waited until a year and a month (expired warranty) to deal with it. I called Rick at river city RV where we bought it and he was awesome! He got everything covered under our extended warranty and even took care of a couple other minor issues while it was there. Great service! read more

Stopped in early Jan 2018 and asked specifically for a pull trailer under 4000 lbs with a walk around queen bed. Jeff took us to a 2012 R-Vision Crossover, used light weight, meeting and exceeding our requirements. Very clean, cared for unit and we bought it. Jeff found solutions for the few concerns we had and they were dealt with. Gary finished our transaction as Jeff dealt with the flu. Very positive sales experience and all the items we asked for and paid for were done to our satisfaction. We took our tow vehicle in a day before picking up the trailer so it could have a brake controller installed along with the hitch system set up to match our truck to the new trailer. This where our experience degraded. We arrived at delivery time to provide them with a Cashiers Check, ins info, etc. The brake controller had been installed but the new trailer and hitch matching had not been done. We spent 2 hours while the hitch was assembled, freezing and wondering why this failure of a near perfect transaction occurred. The tech that worked with us was awesome,(Rob?). Great walk though and training on our rig, 5 STAR!!!. We purchased a few items from their parts dept. Why do I only give three stars? Sales, Service, and Parts, acted like 3 different companies and made our almost great experience, just mediocre. read more

We had been looking for our Montana 5th Wheel for several weeks. We live in the San Francisco east Bay Area and had been talking with another dealer in Redding, whom I won't mention (it's a national chain that rhymes with ramping twirled). We hit an impasse with the deal with an approximate $10k gap. We found our rig at River City RV using RV Trader on the web. We communicated with Gary B. at River City RV. We immediately worked out a far better deal than we had with the Redding dealer. The process was seamless and there was never a hint of deception or a feeling of being ripped off. After taking delivery of the Montana we stayed in The Grants Pass area with our rig and River City continued to impress us with their post sale service. We had a couple of minor issues with the rig (standard stuff) and they quickly addressed and fixed the issues. River City is more than worth any drive. The whole process was a breeze, fun, and on the up and up. We can't say enough good about River City, Gary, and the service staff. Any RVer knows that the service department at most dealers is their weak link. Not River City. Do yourself a favor and check them out. read more

Been trying to resolve a factory warranty issue for nearly 3 months...still waiting. We keep being told "it's been shipped". Was told we would receive last week, but no part. Called once again and was told we'd get a call...nothing. Over 7 emails and numerous phone calls and no closer to resolution than 3 months ago! My advice is if there's any issue with a purchase, DO NOT take possession until it's resolved. Not happy with the lack of follow up and would not recommend this dealership. read more

What a fantastic experience we have had with the folks at River City RV. This is our 5th Toy Hauler purchase so we knew exactly what we were looking for when we contacted Gary. We had found what we wanted elsewhere here in California where we live, however we retracted the deal because the first dealer did not disclose damage they had caused. Luckily we found the last (exact) make, model, extras, etc at River City RV. It was okay that it was more than 4 hours from our home because Gary was great with us on the phone. He made sure we weren't making that trip for nothing. He personally checked out the coach we were interested in, took our trade info and photos into consideration and we came to a no games agreement on the phone. We went the next day and found him and his team to be genuine and honest. Mike F was great with our deal and so was Jan, our finance manager. We left that day with terms we were happy with and a delivery date we were excited about. Mike and Brad in service had our new 2017 Fuzion ready as promised today when we arrived and went over it thoroughly. We couldn't be happier and we feel like we were treated very well. River City RV has made several mistakes in the delivery and purchase of our RV. 1.) RV was not ready for walk through when we arrived at facility, it had not been completely checked. 2.) Service manager broke the washer dryer combo, and was unable to deliver RV on set date. We had to wait an additional day for delivery. 3.) Service manager neglected to telephone before delivery as he stated he would. This caused the delivery driver to arrive at the destination without us knowing so we were not home at the time. He then questioned a 10 year old about where to put the RV and did not ask to speak with an adult. 4.) Delivery driver did not properly level the RV, as we were told by the sales associate he would help us properly level and set-up the RV. Delivery driver stated he had other appointments to get to. 5.) Upon first use of the toilet a valve was leaking and the toilet is not usable, we called the service manager and he sent out a tech. However, the toilet is currently unusable and the valve is on order. Obviously this was not properly checked. 6.) We called River City RV to speak with the sales associate who sold us the RV, he was unavailable so we spoke to the sales manager. The goal of the conversation was to have a delivery driver return to properly set-up and level the RV. He stated that they were exceptionally busy this month and things were busy, and this may be why all the mishaps were happening. He had the sales associate call us, he set up an appointment on Sunday at 9am (his choosing) to return to our site and level the RV. at 9:30am on Sunday he called to say he had just woke up and wanted to do it on a day he didn't work instead. He requested Monday, I stated I had plans on Monday so it has to be done in the early morning, at which he responded that he doesn't usually get up that early and maybe I just didn't need to be home for it. I am anticipating that I will not be having him show up. read more

We ordered our 2015 Bighorn 5th wheel from Gary who walked us through the purchase details. We came away feeling no pressure, in fact the opposite experience. After adding some extras our purchase price was well below anyone else on the west coast. We were very pleased to sign the agreement. During the build process Gary kept us informed of the anticipated delivery date and assisted in adding a late option. Once the coach arrived we were scheduled to do a walk-thru with John a service tech. John did a great job delving into all the systems and set up procedures. We are experienced RV'ers and still learned some good pointers...that's the beauty of having a service guy with you. There were some interior trim items that we noted for repair and a scratch on the front nose from transit. These were taken care of quickly. When we got the call for our pick up date from Gary I asked if he could store it for three additional days to allow us to button things up at home. No problem... As I write this we are happily eating breakfast after a restful night in our new Bighorn camped along the way to visit family. The whole process of this purchase was great! Drove 3 hrs. to River City RV to view a rig advertised on RVTrader. An individual came out and led me to the vehicle. He was congenial. I asked the usual questions but he didn't seem to know much about the vehicle. I opened up all the cabinets and they were jammed with stuff - probably from previous owner. I inquired as to why the vehicle was not cleaned up and was told they were very busy and didn't have to time to do that stuff prior to a buyer. Really? You advertise a vehicle on a nationwide platform but don't clean up the vehicle or do an inspection (fox in the hen house) until someone has committed to purchase it? I inquired as to how long the vehicle had been on the lot. 30 days!! I continued to check on the outside and noticed the front windows were not sealed properly - same on one side window. Opened all ports and parts were showing signs of rust. Opened the hatch where the generator should have been - GONE! I told the fellow I wanted to test drive it. After about 15-20 minutes, I went looking for him as he was to return with keys. He was nowhere to be found. I spent more time in the rig taking photos. Still no return. Went looking a second time but couldn't find a soul. Needless to say I left. I guess these folks must be doing ok not to worry about a 24K sale and nationwide reputation. It's my understanding that River City RV was operating in Portland prior to "moving" to Grants Pass. read more
