1st visit since new owners and remodeling. Place is nice and clean and Bruce one of the owners was very accommodating. Food was good and service was excellent. Per Our server suggestions we ordered the cod bites, clam chowder, Rueben and smash burger. She was right they were all good. Prices were fair, the view of the water, the cold beer and good food will have us coming back.

I reviewed this place some time ago and deleted it as I felt my issues with the incompetent bartender (at the time) was not worth the hassle, especially since he no longer seems to work here. I've been at this bar 4 times now. The food is incredible, believe me, if you ate here during the previous ownership you know the food was sub par, to be polite. Truly everytime we come, we're blown away by the food, it really is incredible. The shrimp is AMAZING! Seriously, the best shrimp my family has had. Other foods we've enjoyed : quesadilla, perch sandwich, shrimp app, pretzel bites (), pizza, etc etc. We were here yesterday (5/25) and our server Emily is the best, seriously everything she recommended was 11/10. We're back today (5/26) because we currently can't cook at our place up here. We've been sitting for 45 minutes, only one soup brought out, and it's EXACTLY as packed as it was at this time yesterday. Holiday service makes or breaks restaurants, we hope to get our food soon!

We tried the burgers, fish and chips, and perch sandwich. Everyone was happy!

It was a beautiful day and the car club decided to do one-lap of Harsens Island on Sunday morning. Based on other Yelp reviews, I set my expectations to "Low." I was very pleasantly surprised. I'm marking it down 1-Star because of the (lack of) cleanliness in the mens room. We had reservations for 11:30AM and our table was ready when we arrived. Our group of sixteen had two servers assigned. They were prompt with the beverage orders. Food orders followed swiftly. The servers were knowledgeable and attentive. I ordered the half-pound perch sandwich - and that is precisely what I was served. The mound of perch filets was large enough that it overflowed the bun. (see the pic). The breading was light. The sandwich was served hot, with a side of creamy cole slaw & tartar. The menu mentioned "hand packed," half-pound burgers. They didn't look like hand made. Rather; they looked like the standard Sysco:GFS half-pound patty. Regardless; those that ordered hamburger were happy with their food. Will I return? Yes. WiFi performance rocks, but it is unencrypted & unsuitable for any sites that require a login.

What an adventure to the island on small ferry boat. Now gentrified go figure island so interesting with vintage homes & wildlife. We went to the bar patio & split a 16 piece perch dinner sitting yards away from frightens and expensive cigarette boats racing by. The server was great and no one was in a hurry. When entering patio asked customers is this table available the friendly response was " yes but your welcome to join us" ironically one younger woman said raised in Nogales Arizona her dad was a pilot for cap in family& and she a u of Arizona grad? Go fixture! You'd think we were zonies I. San Diego . Leaving the bar people were standing milling around former small firehouse now a small museum where we joined them to watch the eclipse through the correct glasses & even a Colander! Unforgettable lunch & afternoon at the classic sand bar!

When dining goes slumming - This sums up pretty much everything in this place from the smell, to the food. Took 45 min to get food, we were jammed at a table smashed in to music equipment which I'm guessing was for the bar party later. The place is dirty, food was all bland, just eh. But, only one of two or three spots to eat on the island so it seems they can just do whatever and they'll get business. Maybe a better island nightlife spot, crap place to eat though.

The other side is the bar side which I have never needed a reservation for and the side faces the Detroit river. The two sides have different menus and the bar side has like burgers and "normal" food that's actually not terribly expensive. Both sides are fun but I honestly like the bar side because you get to sit in comfortable couches and still have an amazing view. There's something called like Japanese bread that's pretty cheap and tastes fresh, and the ice cream is really good too. A few times we went we had something called a decompensated dessert which is a little bit odd, it's the ingredients that make up the dessert but spread out on a plate instead of formed into the actual desert. I included a picture of the decompensated cheesecake to explain. Honestly always so fun to visit here and the elevator ride up is cool too

Service: The table service was excellent however, the bar service at the front was meh. Overall: The food was great but the desert was meh. The steak was worth the price but the rest was meh. I would go back for another special occasion. Again, the table service was great.

(If you live here you take for granted how cool this is!) often on summer comings you can find live music either at the indoor bar (which has large group high top tables) or out on the deck a band or solo acoustic set! I have images from two different visits in this review. Managed well this restaurant has great food and good service. Been here a number of times and honestly it's usually high class for the region. On this occasion our party of three had cedar planked salmon, red snapper and shrimp, lemon scented salmon with corn salsa and black beans. We also had a wedge salad, seafood bake appetizer and cup of clam chowder. The chowder is a staple and has lots of chunks of potatoes and clams. Wedge salad is good- not in my top 5 but certainly in the top 10. Made right/ great blue cheese dressing! Personally the red snapper and shrimp was lovely. Crusted with Parmesan cheese the red snapper had a nice exterior. I had double veg and appreciated the asparagus. All the food was great the appetizer was awesome. I could have eaten about 10 more shells with that lovely seafood cheese and butter dream. So head on up or down the river and enjoy a nice night! This is situated with a hotel on property. One day I'll eat, drink, stay and update this review! Thanks as always River Crabs!
