Food was delicious, service was great. Went on a rainy day but it still was an amazing view

We stopped here for a casual brunch suggested by a family member. We were given the option of indoor or outdoor seating and chose outdoor. We had a beautiful view of the river. Although seated quickly, our waitress was hit or miss. She only came to take our order and give the check. The rest of the outdoor seating seemed to have great service from their waiters so it seemed we were the unlucky table. The bloody Mary's were delicious. I would recommend their house bloody for only $6. We split the chicken and waffles along with the hangover smash burger. The food was fantastic and extremely filling.

Today's lunch was a nice one. I have had some negative experiences before, however today was great. The steak caprese salad was bomb. I had to steer clear of the cocktails because some bad experiences were bad. But today is a new day and I'm so thankful we stopped It. Shout out to Lauren! Super attentive and prompt. The atmosphere is the best part tho. It is February and I'm loving the view.

    Beautiful view!!

What a find! I was looking on YELP for water front restaurants and saw this. Only half an hour from us so in the car we go! The service was great and the food. $5 bloody Mary's for brunch! We enjoyed the view and busy atmosphere! We will be back!

The service here is ... weird. We asked for iced coffee and the waitress was scared. She was trying to make excuses to why they dont make a simple iced coffee then offered to bring hot w ice on the side lmao. Also the toast last yr was beautiful and this year was very cold dry stale and bad. The rest of the food wasnt as good either. What happened? Good part is the view of the river

We were in Pennsylvania for a couple of days and decided to go for the River Grille on our last night in town. The food was good but the service was even better. Our servers name was Haley. She was attentive and super sweet! My husband ordered the hangover burger which was great and I ordered the jambalaya which was alright. I felt like the Jambalaya was a bit too heavy for me and I couldn't finish it. For dessert we ordered their cheese cake and tiramisu. The cheesecake was great. The tiramisu was light and good. Overall experience was 8/10 - mostly for the great service!

Outdoors year round. One of the few spots for Sunday brunch. Steak & eggs recommended. Build your own Bloody Mary bar optional.

Don't mind going for a few beers on the patio but forget the food. Pricey and nothing to write home about.

We got the Korean dumplings which were very good with Asian zing sauce on them. We also got their nachos which were soggy towards the bottom but had good flavor with bbq sauce and pulled pork. Now they don't offer pulled pork sandwiches but have pull pork on the nachos. My fish and chips were soooooo salty! The tartar sauce was good and French fries. The breading was also soggy but the fish was very tender and nice. The chicken cheesesteaks were good, filling and yummy. The Ale Burger is a double smash burger with good flavor, and a good meal. The Buffalo Mac and cheese was spicy but enjoyable. The service wasssss slow and not very attentive. The manager had to come over and ask if we needed anything bc our server seemed to disappear. I believe it's new owners which explains the menus cut in half, but I hope they get things together bc this spot is super cool. Speak easy, cool hangout spot.

Really enjoyed a lunch with my family at Ale Mary's after spending a few hours at Steamtown…read more I found parking right up front on the street (lucky, plus the meters were off for the weekend according to staff). The service was slow, but once we were greeted our drinks and food came out quickly. The inside is spacious, it's in an old building dating back to the mid to late 1800's. The high ceilings and metal work inside gives an old industrial feel. The menu had a lot of tasty choices and the beer menu was fantastic. The list of the handhelds/sandwiches is too long to list, but I could have ordered any of them. They have over 100 small and large craft/international beers in bottles or cans and around 20 taps. I had a couple cans of delicious Russian River/WeldWerks collab Convivial which is a hazy imperial IPA. My wife really enjoyed their Buffalo Chicken Flatbread 13.95 - popcorn chicken, house wing sauce, cooper cheese, blue cheese, scallions. It was more than a serving, sizable and fresh. The flavors were balanced and outstanding. I had the Bison Cheesesteak 16.95 - Chipotle bison, pepperjack, bacon chutney, mushrooms, chipotle aioli, toasted hoagie roll. The flavors were balanced, roll was fresh, the serving was large and it was pretty darn good. The meat had a hot dog/pork pate taste. My 5 year old son ordered grilled chicken street tacos 13.95 - Pico de gallo, jalapeno sour cream, queso. Choice of grilled chicken or beef. It came with three and he ate half. We all had a bite and agreed they were fresh, easy to handle and had a delicious mix of flavors, especially the chicken and cheese. My other son had the House Grilled Cheese 9.95 - Boursin, pepperjack, & cooper cheeses on grilled brioche. He enjoyed it, but said it was a little spicy. Although they lacked a "kids menu" my guys found something they enjoyed. The inside was family friendly and they were treated well by the staff. We thought Ale Mary's was a great gastropub and will absolutely repeat when we are back in Scranton. Thanks guys!

We waited at the front a couple of minutes which was okay considering they seemed busy, but then some party entered and were attended to right away. We basically just followed that party because I overheard the there wwer only tables in the outdoor patio. We were able to establish contact with wait staff out there and so it began. Staff was friendly but service was slow. We were waited on by about 4 different persons, which was a little confusing, but if that what it takes to get served, then fine. Again, I am guessing they were understaffed. We ordered some BBQ ribs which were quite good but the half rack was small IMO. They have nothing on Kansas City, but it was still pretty good. They appear to BBQ their meats on the premises. Ambiance was okay, fine for BBQ and beer. If I lived in Scranton, maybe this place would be on the list of options, IDK.

Don't come here on Wing Night Wednesday…read more. We made the mistake of coming here on wing night. We got our appetizer, chips and dip. Chips were homemade and burnt... 3/10. Dip was fine, probably out of a packet. Little did we know those burnt chips would be the only thing we would be eating for an hour with little to no refills. Seemed to be forgotten about with us being inside and I guess everyone else in the back. After an hour, our food came out. I got the brisket tacos, they were good. 8/10. My table got a chicken cheesesteak and ask for no mushrooms and ofc it came out with mushrooms... We had to get the wings, the wings were good! An hour wait good? No. 7/10. It took a weird amount of time for our last entree to come out and it was just like chicken tenders on a bun, no love. Oh and the pulled pork sandwich was more like slop. Our waitress's excuse was that they had a new chef. Sooooo I guess they decided to start training this chef during service. Food - 8/10 Service - 5/10 Atmosphere - 7/10 Overall - 6/10
