I don't usually review. Make better choices generally- We were on a road trip and in a hurry and it had decent reviews. The wait staff spent 90% of the time changing TV channels wearing sloppy sweatshirts- I don't come to make friends with the staff but seriously , these two were solemn. There were several menus on the table that didn't apply. I was told "we are doing brunch - that's it " Ok, Got it - a fork would have been nice when the food arrived for this Marvelous "brunch." I was dubious by now about the kitchen so went safe. 2 eggs, potatoes and sausage. Eggs were perfect over medium. The sausage were clearly cooked DAYS ago and reheated. Skin like leather, hard interior, greasy. Potatoes also deep fried new potatoes cooked sometime in the past. Potatoes, that versatile , wonderful carb all around the world were shamed. Ok second visit to the Riv Pig and I think they have improved although I really enjoyed my first meal about a month ago, today the service was faster, friendlier, and funnier thanks to Rebekah! Had to make it three F's, ok the burger was exactly how I ordered it and served with a smile. I must say those fries are freaking great! The atmosphere is fun, casual and easy to just sit back and people watch out side as you pig out with your meal. Great stuff keep it up! read more

Let me start by saying KATIE.IS.AWESOME. Cheery, friendly, knows her stuff. My cousin and I were in town for a concert and dropped by here for some pre-show cocktails. She poured some pretty decent drinks! We loved it so much, we came by again after the show for more. This time, we also ordered some jalapeño poppers (always good) and sautéed Brussels sprouts. Both were quite tasty. My ONLY negative is that they knew there was a concert in town, yet only had one bartender and one waitress for all the patrons who came afterward so service was SUPER SLOW. read more

I very rarely feel compelled to write a review of a restaurant establishment, but the River Pig Saloon in Bend, Oregon is an exception - because I hope the Manager and/or Owner sees this. Tonight could have been an anomaly in futility, but our experience was terrible ... putting it mildly. And, this was in no way the responsibility of our server who was trying her best. For starters, they were out of 3 of the 5 appetizers or main courses we ordered. They were also out of Coors Light (seriously??). When our chicken strips came out, one was still raw. It took 20+ minutes for the server to see us. They were ridiculously understaffed ... on a concert night at the Bend Amphitheater no less? This could be a cool place. And the staff was friendly. But the complete ineptitude of management to put their staff in a position to be successful was embarrassing for this establishment. I'll probably come back at some point to see if the owner actually gives 2 s***s for their patrons. read more

First, if it matters to you, no one wears masks. We usually split the nachos. Then, we got nachos that were on a small plate, and skimpy. So, then we ordered the chicken fingers (something like that), which were burnt and still served to us. These never should have left the kitchen. When we asked the server if they should be this black, she said yes. We asked another person? Yes. WTF? Finally asked the manager, and he too said the chicken should be black and dry. Again, WTF? Our first time at the River Pig Saloon in Bend today. We are locals so we are always trying to find a new place to be our next favorite..... annnnd, I think this is it. I absolutely fell in love the moment I walked in the door. The old western Wyatt Earp time period decor and atmosphere was great, but once we got our food we were blown away. We stuck with mostly appetizer plates but every single one was great. I loved the fried pickles, curly fries and the drumsticks with ranch. This is something Bend needed. We stopped by the River Pig after the Portugal the Man concert at the amphitheater, so about 9 pm on a Friday of the Labor Day weekend. It was already really busy when we got there. We sat 6 people around one of the barrels out front. It's a nice outdoor area that's supposed to be non-smoking but there's always someone that doesn't care. We ordered nachos, curly fries, mac and cheese and jalapeno poppers. Everything was super delicious. It did take a bit for it to get out to us but it was worth it. One thing I don't like about most new places is that while they do bring out a pitcher of water to your table (in this case a massive previous Jack Daniels bottle), the water is never chilled. The place seems quite popular but at this time of night, mainly for the drinking crowd. Bathrooms were pretty dark but clean-ish. read more

This place is super cool looking and they have a great happy hour menu. However, they don't have a lot of seating, and sometimes you have to cram in a big table with people you don't know. The fries are $2 for happy hour and to me that's a good deal, but the service was sorta slow and by the time they came out they were pretty dry. Either that or they gave me some old stuff ... I also got their "Oregon's best bowl" which is arugula salad with quinoa and basil oil. The idea was great, but the basil was overwhelming and the quinoa was hard. My husband got a bison burger and he asked for medium rare but it ended up being medium. Overall it's a cool place to hang out but our food wasn't spectacular. Opening seating - so I sat at the bar opened up my laptop and worked for a little a few hours also got to know Katie & Amelia. All around- I've been here a handful of times since they've opened and had GREAT Customer Service! While hanging out, started off by ordering Riff Coffee (MmmMmM) while enjoying the environment (Music, wallpaper, lighting and awesome décor) only thing that is missing is an AWESOME Caribou & a Pee Pee sign! Just saying.... After putting in some work & enjoying the music and friendly staff I order Bloody Mary (22oz) & Fried Brussel Sprouts (insert drooling emoji here). I've tried a few other items on the menu from past visits (Bend & Portland location). The Drumsticks, the fried pickles and the French fries- Tasty! I've have been visiting this establishment for a year now. The staff is amazing. Especially Alex the swiss army knife of barbacks, the servers Amelia and Reeebekah who can handle 200 plus guest each, the main attraction is yes the bartenders. Cool place but like every other business in the state, they are badly understaffed. The place has a great vibe with staff that is doing their best to take care of their customers. This use to be one of our fave's. But they are still using a Covid reduced menu after a year and a half. So there are hardly any options. After ordering the same food over and over and over again we are finally calling it quits. Oh and any restaurant that starts charging $3 for every refill on ice tea is not okay in my book. You advertised that it was put on by Svedka (well, you called it Svetka, but we knew what you meant) and Boneyard, giving the hope of great specials, drinks and promotions... 4. You charged $30/head to get in the door (a little steep, but for what was advertised, we were game). 5. You promised a champagne toast at midnight... REALITY 1. We got a party at the River Pig and the attached hallway. Most of the other businesses closed down, and those that didn't, charged additional cover. Block party? I think not! 2. 2 tents - one marking each entrance and housing security and taking cover. A "silent disco" - earphones that I suppose looked fun at first, but we had to give you our ID for them? And then we got to listen to something other than the what? ONE BAND? Really? So if you don't like the band, you can hang out on your own with headphones on and listen to house music? Is that fun??? And the band... they were alright, but you had them stop at 11? An hour before midnight? Now what? EVERYONE gets to listen to house music anyway, so what are the earphones for now? Oh, I almost forgot... the burlesque show... hmm... ok, that was fine (at best), but that ended at 11 too..? 3. Your promoters? ONE Boneyard beer... ONE! I didn't notice anything specifically promoted for Svedka? Thanks promoters! Where were the promos? Games? Prizes? Shwag? Something??? 4. What did I pay a $30 cover for? A full hallway? Live entertainment (sort-of) that stopped at 11? Hugely overpriced drinks served in plastic? A low-budget band? An isolating silent disco? We are new to Bend and have enjoyed numerous restaurants and breweries. We try to explore a new one each time to get to know all that Bend has to offer. All have been wonderful experiences. Our visit today to River Pigs was very disappointing. We ordered Bison Burger, Fried Brussel sprouts, 3 Tacos, chicken drums, and Jalapeño pops, along with 3 beers for 3 of us. We waited an extended time for our food which we didnt mind as we enjoyed just visiting. Our food arrived with a lovely presentation. The Jalapeño pops were hot as was the Bison Burger. Everything else was cold. When we addressed this to the waitress she said she would check with the manager. Returned to tell us there was nothing that could be done and we wouldn't be charged for the Brussel Sprouts and would be comped for the beers and additional adjustments were made to the other food items. We asked for to go boxes to take home the cold food and reheat it. The waitress apologized and hoped that we would give them another try. Not likely as there are so many great restaurants and breweries in Bend. The restaurant was not busy so we assumed our food was left to sit before being served. read more

So happy to have River Pig in Bend! This spot has quickly become my favorite hangout for an after work cold one and night time shenanigans. I've outgrown the downtown Bend bar scene and love having a chill spot to hit up with my friends. Not to mention Tokyo Starfish is right across the street, look out Mr. Rogers, the neighborhood is comin up! Excellent happy hour (try their chicken strips!!) and the customer service is stellar. Katie, Amelia, Jay & Sean always take such good care of us, even when they're slammed, they provide excellent customer service with a smile. Young girl, dull greeting, didn't check on our drinks or how our food was, took forever to close out, wasn't slammed or anything in there. In fact this was during Covid so you'd think restaurants would be slimmed down to their elite staff. Anyways, kicker was that as we were walking out we heard our waitress audibly complain about our tip (which was 18%). Pretty legit for crap service.
