I've been here for 40 minutes and just finally got our drinks which have been sitting at the end of the bar the whole time. We'd been told "the bartender is backed up on your drinks, but here's your app", only to have been witnessing the bartender simply cleaning glass and chatting with the bar top patrons. The tab came and we'd instantly been told we'd been discounted?!? For what? Did you just only now notice you'd left us hanging for so long? Unfortunate. This spot used to be very hip and a great gathering spot. I'll pass next time. The dried out Brussel sprouts came out in 30 seconds flat too. Probably a decommit from someone else tired is waiting as well. I'm literally watching others leave their table and head to the bar, since they too are not being served. Not a good look. read more

One of the better bars in town in terms of seating. - They have an outdoor patio on Arizona Avenue but it's not the best in town by any means. I don't like loud music playing in pubs where people want to converse and have been known to turn around at the door (which we did, in fact, at another place just before coming here once). OK, there was that large group of happy Aussies enthusiastically celebrating a wedding. Cheers to the bride and groom! Solid pub food: - Drumsticks (instead of wings): I ordered dry rub which was tasty without being too dry. I suppose it's good to have choices (drumsticks vs wings) but I prefer wings. - Bison Burger: Probably isn't going to make the 'top ten of Bend' list but it's a good burger. Nice bun, well-prepared meat and very tasty. I ordered mine with the sauteed mushrooms and onions, which made it quite sloppy, causing the whole thing to disintegrate. - Curly fries: Ordered extra well done. And they were. Very nice. - Salad: A-OK We have received great service at the bar during our weekday visits. The regular and happy hour menus were offered straight off and the beer (and wine) swiftly followed. Have been here a few times during the past few years and typically lunch is pretty good. My wife and I tried to eat here prior to a concert on a Saturday a few weeks ago. Took 5-10 to get a drink order, another 10 minutes to get our beer and cider, and another 15-20 minutes to get food that included cold fries. read more

Great place to grab a quick bite/beer. The indoor seating is pretty large and they also have a dog friendly patio with heaters. Pretty standard pub food and a smaller rotating beer selection. If you ever told me I'd write a review for chicken fingers and a beer I'd have thought you were nuts. But the incredible ones served here deserved one. A hearty thick well fried crust over large strips of meaty white meat. Crunchy. Moist. Meaty. Great sauces. And a super friendly bartender who managed all our needs without being too involved. Spur of the moment stop before we ride our bikes back to the motor home. Husband got the Smash burger with curly fries and I got the nachos. We both thought our dishes were excellent. Now I've eaten a lot of nachos and whoever made these must also be eating them. There was filling on all layers but not too much of any one item. I wish I had a picture to share because they were as good as they looked. I tasted the curly fries as well and thought they were excellent. We had an amazing experience at River Pig Saloon. Mike made THE best Bloody Mary any of us had ever had. Jacob was our waiter and provided top notch service. Food was delicious BUT can we take minute to break down this Bloody Mary. Removing all of the garnish....this is the straight up BEST Bloody Mary. Not just in Bend but anywhere. Now for the topping....the jalapeño popper was stellar. Wishing we had ordered those as an appetizer. We'll order those next for sure. Great venue. Killer Decor and service. I spent my New Years here and had a blast. A lot of fake reviews on here and I felt I had to step up and cancel some of them out. Plenty of drinks and food for everyone. Most reviews are bitter because it's an ticketed event only. Can't get in unless you bought ticket online only. I've attached proof. So I ask of you reviewers to buck up and prove your distasteful claims. (I was not compensated or paid for this review) some of you peasants need to grow up. This is my favorite go-to spot in Bend. Food is always on point. The Mac and cheese with Bison Burger is the best in town. Great whiskeys and always helpful staff in choosing new drinks. (They even make a great margarita). Been here twice now for a weekend lunch. Service is a joke. Food is pretty good! And we really liked the decor. Jalapeno poppers are excellent. Grilled and bacon wrapped, we've had them both times. Nachos are good, one time we had them with pork, the other without meat. My partner had the lamb burger and curly fries and both were very good. Before we've even gotten our meals, she takes my empty water glass and places my empty cocktail glass into it. I ask if I can have more water, she takes my cocktail glass out of the water glass and refills my water. We get our meals in good time. About midway into the meal, my partner's beer is a half inch from empty and my water glass needs another refill. Bartender has been prepping fruit at the bar with her back to us for the entire meal. Finally she gets close enough so my partner can get her attention to refill the water. Her response while refilling it? You can always go to the water stations at the end of the bar if you can't get my attention. Never heard that before. Reminder - there are 6 people in the entire establishment. And oh, now she sees my partner's empty glass. The beer he thought he wanted 10 minutes ago, no more. She gives off the impression that we should be happy to see her. Like we are the ones that should be smiling and offering goodwill. She's not rude, but has zero service personality. Zero! There's a waitress also working, she has NO customers. She's doing prep at the bar. She never glances our way. We might go back for the food, but will never be back for a weekend lunch. Cindy W. is spot on - prepare to be invisible. The River Pig has a nice ambiance, of loud music, and dark seating inside. The place was certainly a crowded hang out. There were 5 of us the night we went to the River Pig. We all ordered drinks that were good. No complaints there. It was certainly busy so we did not mind the 30 to 40 minute wait to get a table. Then things started to fall apart. Our server took 3 of orders, then came back 15 minutes later and took the other 2 orders. When the first 3 orders arrived they arrived in an unfriendly manner. As someone walked by and tossed 3 items on the middle of a long table and disappeared. Then as the person arrived again. 1 person said "I ordered that" before it was placed down. The person continued to toss the food on the table and walk away. The person at our table said "excuse me." The lady stop and said "What" our table said "that is the food I ordered" She said "I'm the kitchen manager and I shouldn't even be out here. I'll throw it on the table and you can figure it out." Then walked away no more said. The I food that made it to the table was 2 orders of brussel sprouts, 1 curly fries, and 1 mac and cheese. Then the people that ordered these items started to eat them. Curly fries were fine. The Brussel sprouts were insanely charred. The mac and cheese sauce all ran off the noodles. This is all in the pictures. When our server came by to check on us. We asked to speak with the manger. Manger "What can I do for you?" Our table "The kitchen manger was just incredible rude to us. All of the food is burnt or not good. We also dont have the food for 2 of our people. I wanted to eat my meal with my friends." Manger its Covid we our down 3 servers tonight." Us "please cancel the remaining food and we aren't paying for the brussel sprouts as more of them are inedible" The manger did comp the food and after paying for drinks we left. I do hope this was an isolated incident. I'm not in Bend Oregon often, so hopefully I get a chance later in life for the River Pig to make a better impression. read more

I love the food here, but I also experienced a VERY rude waitress when coming to get my pickup order. Kelsi was extremely rude and I definitely gave no reason to be. I try to be kind to everyone and expect the same in return ESPECIALLY in a customer service role. I'm extremely disappointed. There is no excuse to be bad at your job, or allow people to treat others like this. Be better. This is not the first time I have had terrible service here. Nor the second. This is a repeat occurrence. I have had a few times that the service was fine too though. But what's the problem guys?? Hire better people or treat them better because you have a serious morale problem, and we are in no shortage of friendly people in Bend. read more

First time in this new pub that's only been open for a couple of weeks. They are building on the reported success of their flagship operation in Portland. Relaxed funky vibe. Moderately loud music from a playlist. Occasionally live bands I'm told. Started of with a really good Old Fashioned cocktail..... good well bourbon, the right garnishes, and just sweet enough. They use black maraschino cherries rather than the bright red. Beautiful decor. Industrial with exposed timber frame construction leftover from the old mill days. Animal heads on the wall, a hanging piano on another wall, some large paintings and old west style wallpaper. Lighting that appears antique. Also several large screens for your favorite sporting events. Started of with an order of wings. The menu calls them Hells Canyon Drumsticks. Not drummettes.... they're full sized chicken legs. Ordered ours with the dry rub....fantastic. They offer wing sauce, but I think the dry rub was a better choice. I stay away from carbs so ordered the lamb burger without the bun. Very tasty. The lamb is served with feta cheese on top and tzatziki sauce mixed into the patty. Would normally be served on a Ciabatta roll. Makes for a small patty, maybe 4-5 ounces, a definite contradiction to the chicken wings in size. Others at the table ordered catfish sandwiches and a bison burger. I tasted the bison and it was very flavorful. Definitely not beef. Very good. The catfish burgers were huge. All in all I'd have to say give them a shot. Seems like a real good place. We'll definitely be back.... Oh yeah, they offer bacon with everything for a buck. So order bacon with your cocktail, your appetizer, and your main course! read more

My wife and I went to watch the Niner game, had a beer, ate some chicken tenders and enjoyed the afternoon. The sound was off for the game, which was fine, because they had multiple games on. Come here a lot and have since they opened, it's a spot, good food but there's a waitress that has some serious customer service problems we had a big group drank for hours had food and more probably spent $400+ dollars we asked to close out tabs and some how she or we forgot some of the tab we left to head home and a friend of ours picked up the forgotten tab since we were gone not sure why it wasn't brought out with everything else but it wasn't, no harm it was still paid... We came back a few days later saw her and told her it was an honest mistake but our friend took care of it and she gave us a "mhm" then our new waitress asked for a card to hold for our new group of 8...? What is that? Who replies Mhm to people that spent $400 and tipped 20% why would we come back if we wanted to rip a server off?! Haha. We had a bartender female black overalls blonde hair who was not friendly at all. It was our first time here and we had no idea the beers were high up on the wall and instead slammed the menu in our faces and said nothing. Clearly indicating to check for our selves. Been here 6 or seven times. The service has been good and it has been not so good at other times. I don't believe kids are allowed (we had to leave the patio once). Their drinks are good and they have a good beer selection (not a big selection). Their food has always been good. I hit this spot with a buddy when we were driving through Bend. The chicken sandwich was great, as were the fried pickles. The bar has a solid selection of beers and booze. The place will likely not disappoint. That being said, we did have an interesting hipster bartender. Not sure if it was his work persona or he was just a dick, but a dick he was. We asked for a menu and got a smartass response, he spilled a bunch of beer then commanded his bar back to clean it up while talking shit to him, then instead of asking someone to leave, he basically belittled the guy out the door. My only guess is that he's able to get away with that shit because the town is inhabited by a bunch of docile stoners, because if he acted that way in most places he'd be humbled with a few slaps pretty damn quick. read more

I love the decor and the people that work here are awesome. The River Pig Lager is definitely worth a try. You won't be disappointed. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, Mac and cheese, and fried pickles. The fried pickles were good albeit a little dry but the batter stayed on! The Mac and cheese was tasty. His only complaint was that it wasn't baked but that's his preference. The chicken sandwich was delicious but not spicy. At all. A little tobasco fixed that. We will definitely be back. Who sells bratwurst without mustard?? Fries were too spicy. Also ordered the Oregon Bowl which was too bitter and not tasty. Think twice before paying these scam artist for an event!!! I used to frequent the river pig in Portland and always had a good time. The other year for New Years we bought tickets for the bend locations event. It was $30 a ticket, a little spendy for bend but hey it's NYE. We showed up around 10:30 and there was a line around the block. I wasn't worried because I had tickets. Come to find out, the entire line had tickets and where not being let in because they over sold and where at capacity. To over sell an event like that, you gotta be ignorant, incompetent or it's being done intentionally. We left being told we would be refunded. I was a little annoyed given it was NYE, we had tickets ahead of time, and most places where already full. Then it gets real good. I reached out to river pig and they said contact the 3rd party ticket company. So I contacted the ticket company and was told they were not doing refunds. After being annoyed about all the events, I then tried to reach river pig via Social media. I got no repose but they did block me :) . Real classy and stand up business model. read more
