I'm just extremely confused on why we still have these stigmas in 2025 and think it needs to be changed. Dogs attitudes are a product of the owners training. Just because a specific dog breed needs more stimulation, enrichment and training to behave correctly does not mean all dogs that belong to that breed are aggressive. Unless you have a golden retriever, i'd steer clear of this place.

I was just here this past weekend for a music festival, and this was the perfect venue for it…read more The grounds are gorgeous, with plenty of space for camping. Lots of waterfront camping space, but if you actually want to be able to sleep in on those hot summer mornings there's also lots of space in the wooded areas to camp. Everything was really clean upon arrival (as clean as it can be for being a camping area) and was kept as such throughout the weekend. Not an easy task when you have 500+ people traipsing around. There's two sets of restrooms (with running water) and the ones at the front also have 2 showers in each bathroom (mens and womens). The showers were much great, hot and good water pressure. There's also a concession area right as you arrive at the campground which carries smaller items (sunglasses, waters, etc) and are super reasonably priced. The only downfall is that you can't swim in the lake (at least not when I was there), but it's a bit murky so I'm not sure if one would want to. They do rent out paddleboats and canoes though for $50 a day with a $50 refundable deposit. There's also some pretty good fishing in the lake. One of my favorite things about this place was the fact that the owner, John, was always on hand. Interacting with patrons, making sure things were running smoothly. He really did a great job of making us feel welcomed. I'll definitely be returning next year :D

The campground itself is secluded and quiet. There are spots for RV and tent camping. Bathrooms are extremely clean and well kept. The lady that runs it is super nice, but don't speed on her grounds or she will destroy you. The lake is home to all kinds of wildlife and teeming with fish. Whether you have a ski boat or a canoe it is accommodating! Overall a great place to get away and enjoy nature!! Just don't tell anyone I told you about the secret spot.

The upgrades to the campground are nonexistent but the upgrades shes made to her house that's on the same property are definitely noticeable. Just know your money isn't going into the campground it's going to her house. Just go to George Washington. It's right down the road. It's quiet, peaceful and clean. No drunks and excessively loud live music. It's a campground not a bar.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a rude woman working the front office smoking a cigarette outside while we waited at the desk for several minutes unattended. Unfortunately we didn't get her name but remember the lack of dental hygiene/ missing and rotting teeth. During the tour we were made aware of the severe power grid issues at the camp and kept our consumption down in the sweltering temperatures (even though we have a dog) but still managed to melt a surge protector (SEE PHOTO) and out appliances were making weird noises due to dangerously low voltage. While exploring the grounds we wanted to check out what they called "the pollution field" and was confronted by a very large mountain of trash with including furniture, electronics and toxic plastics. Needless to say we won't be revisiting and if you value your rig and your time, I recommend the same!! Sun Ridge ("Resort" - or lack of) crossed off the list. And the internet was a joke as well.

Did I lock the doors and roll the windows up? Yes. There's a cul-de-sac right below the tower with these "fake structures" that apparently were used to disguise the buildings during WWII. There were info plaques but I was too scared to get out lol. After googling quickly it says The "Town": The buildings included a gymnasium (disguised as church), commissary, barracks, exchange store, and residential homes. They were all boarded up with signs to stay out and falling objects, yikes! No thank you!

The day we visited was clear and lovely, but we unfortunately couldn't stay long because our footgear wasn't appropriate for hiking around inside the park. On June 29, I called earlier in the day to ask whether our cabin might be available before the 4:00 p.m. check-in time. I was told that early check-in would not be available that day, but that the cabin could possibly be ready around 3:30 p.m., and that we were welcome to arrive early and enjoy the campground amenities while we waited. We arrived around 3:00 p.m. and were told the cabin was not ready and to return at 4:00 p.m. Since we had family staying at the campground, we waited at their cabin. While walking by our assigned cabin, a woman who identified herself as the Head of Housekeeping stopped and asked if everything had been cleaned properly. We explained that we had been told the cabin was not yet ready. She went inside, immediately realized it had not been cleaned, apologized, and assured us it would be cleaned right away. Shortly before 4:00 p.m., we walked back to the cabin and saw that the housekeeping staff had already left. I then went to the office to check in, only to be told that the cabin still had not been cleaned. I explained my earlier conversation with the Head of Housekeeping, and the office staff repeatedly attempted to contact housekeeping over the radio. Eventually, another employee who was already responding to a separate cabin issue was sent to verify the cabin's status. I ultimately waited nearly 45 minutes in the office after the official 4:00 p.m. check-in time before receiving our keys. While I was waiting, I also overheard several other guests experiencing issues during the check-in process. During our stay, the campground Wi-Fi was unreliable and frequently unavailable. We later received an email notifying guests that the Wi-Fi was down and that the camp store would also not be open. While I understand that technical issues can occur, this was another inconvenience that affected our experience. Additionally, one of the amenities that influenced our decision to stay at your campground was the lake, which is advertised on your website as a place where guests can enjoy swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Unfortunately, the condition of the lake did not match the expectations created by your website. It appeared stagnant and uninviting, and we did not feel comfortable swimming or otherwise using an amenity that was prominently advertised as a highlight of the campground. As a result, one of the features we were most looking forward to enjoying during our stay was effectively unavailable to our family. The most significant issue occurred on the evening of July 2. Our cabin became extremely hot and would not cool down despite the air conditioner running continuously, both ceiling fans operating, and two additional fans that we had brought ourselves. The main bedroom and loft were especially unbearable. Our children were visibly sweating, and the temperature inside the cabin was so uncomfortable that it was impossible to sleep. We called twice before maintenance arrived. The maintenance employee immediately commented that the cabin felt "disgusting" due to the heat and discovered that the air conditioning unit had frozen over. He explained that several cabins were experiencing the same issue that day and told us the campground had received a shipment of portable air conditioners and fans to distribute to affected cabins. Unfortunately, by the time he reached us, none remained available. He sincerely apologized and explained there was nothing further he could do other than have us turn the unit off to allow it to thaw. As a result, our children were unable to get to sleep until after midnight, and the main bedroom did not reach a reasonable temperature until approximately 3:00 a.m. We essentially lost an entire night's rest during what should have been the final evening of our vacation. While we understand that isolated issues can happen, the combination of the delayed check-in, poor communication, unreliable Wi-Fi, the unexpected closure of the camp store, amenities that did not match how they were advertised, and most importantly the failure of the air conditioning during extremely warm weather made this stay far below the standard we expected. These were not minor inconveniences--they substantially affected our family's comfort and enjoyment throughout the trip. Emailed several times with no response from anyone at Jellystone. Do not go!!

The cabin was clean and we were able to get some nice weather for a swim and the basketball court. I love the fire pit outside of the cabins we made fresh snores they were so yummy and the kids had so much fun doing so, you can buy wood right at the store on the campsite which was convenient I also grabbed some eggs for breakfast in the morning. We didn't get to enjoy mini golf but we seen it and it looked fun. Overall great experience and we will be back!
