Been going here for 5+ years they've literally brought my dental health from 0 to 100%. I got my root canal here, I got my crown here, and I just finished my last clean this year from the main dentist on staff who happens to be the best dentist in the world. You'd be crazy not to give them a try if you need a dentist or you're looking to switch. There facility is clean and upscale from technology stand point. They use local anesthetic as well as the full numb stuff for larger procedures. Just the best place to get you teeth right. read more

There have been noticeable changes to this practice over the years. To be honest, it has steadily declined. My experience to date has been sub par and I am considering changing dentists in the near future. I have only gotten basic treatment (cleanings) here, which have been fine, but I just feel like there is likely a better practice in this area. I used to rate this a 5, but it has recently gone down to a one for the following reasons: 1) When I got my cavity filled, their equipment did not work. Therefore I had to spend an extra 1 hour with my mouth open because they did not have the intelligence to have a backup 2) I went to pick up a mouth guard 10 minutes before closing time. I even called earlier that day to tell them I was coming. When I got there the doors were locked because they decided to close early. 3) I paid in full at the appointment, and recently received a notice that I owe over a hundred dollars and if I don't pay then they will contact the credit bureau. That's such bullshit!!! I absolutely paid in full! read more

I have been going here since last year. I had two cleanings here and a emergency check-up. The first cleaning(last year) was done by Dr. Lee (female) and I liked her. She was gentle, nice, explained everything to me. The second cleaning was done by another doctor, don't remember his name, because Dr. Lee was on maternity leave. (this year 2009). He was okay, a little rougher than Dr. Lee. My 3rd visit was with Dr. Wu and he was very informative, nice, and I liked him. The place has very nice equipment, clean inside which I am very conscious of because I hate going to the dentist and would like to have a nice place to go than an old run down place. Because I have had different doctors for all of my visits, i can't say I love this place but it's close by and I am not planning to change any time soon. I like the receptionist, Rachel, who is always very nice and she explained everything they will charge my insurance, my co-pays etc. read more

Dr Lee and her team are extraordinary! She is always upbeat, happy, and takes personal interest in her patients! Everything from a totally painless routine dental cleaning, to fillings and crowns, she does it all! The dental cleaning is especially unusual w high pressure water pik type painless procedure. I became very upset. Two months after the poor crown job for my two teeth at Rivermark Dental, I ended up seeing another dentist. One crown for my tooth was not covered my tooth fully, so they had to give me a new crown. The other tooth, when she drilled it, she damaged the inside of my tooth. I got infection. I had to take medication to eliminate the infection and get a new crown. read more

I have been going to this Dental Office for two years. I have never had any issues with the staff. Everyone is very helpful and nice. I am not sure why there are so many bad reviews on Yelp, but I like this office and will continue to use them. The office is clean, the dentist is nice, he does my cleaning and the assistant that does the final cleaning is usually also very nice and consistent. NOTE: --I had switched from another office nearby because the hygienist was very MEAN and hard on my teeth. So far I have had very good service here and will stay as a patient as long as it remains convenient to me and the service stays consistent. Thank you! read more

I really don't know what the nay-sayers are talking about. I've been going to Dr. Lee for 4 years. She is very skilled, and explains things in an understandable way. I have had root canals, crowns, and fillings. I'm satisfied with them. The only thing I don't like is that there have been a number of associate dentists. They don't seem to last long there. They were good. But I feel more comfortable with Dr. Lee. Also, Rhonda at the front desk, and now a dental assistant, is great. She is very helpful with insurance coverage and figuring out the best way to use it. She is also a very good assistant. I will absolutely stay with Rivermark Dental. read more

I chose this dentist because of how close they were to my previous home and I have continued going there since I moved. I had gone for cleanings in the past and always had a very pleasant experience and I appreciate that the dentist does the cleanings and not just a hygienist. When I broke my tooth a few months ago I was very nervous about the process to remedy my pain. I have never had a filling or extensive work done but Dr. Lee made me feel very comfortable about the root canal and crown I was going to get. She was very precise about the crown fitting and even sent the crown back to the lab to be made a fraction bigger so that I would have the best possible fit and no problems with cleaning. I really appreciated the attention to detail and how quick all of the appointments were for such extensive work. The appointments for the multi-visit process were flexible (she works Monday and Wednesday) and the receptionist was helpful with my payment plan and even offered a discount because I wasn't covered by dental insurance and the procedure was very costly. I did experience waiting about 15 minutes past my appointment time once so that was disappointing but I had been squeezed in anyways so it wasn't that big of a deal to me. I don't love going to the dentist but I have had a good experience with Dr Lee and the staff. read more

Useless office. I was in pain. I called up for an appointment. The receptionist confirmed the appointment with me for the next day (which is really not the typical dental office response in case it is an emergency). And in the evening the office calls me to say that they cannot do appointment the next day but can book for the day after that! That is total bullshit! The doctor all of sudden would have decided that she will cancel all appointments... Being a doctor.. you are supposed to be responsible.. god knows what professionalism they show when they have to take accountability in case something goes wrong... I have been going to Dr Lee for about 13 years, along with my husband and two kids. I have a lot of fear of dental procedures after having had some bad experiences at other dentists and I've had nothing but the best experiences with Dr Lee and her staff. She is always very understanding of my fear and has taken extra effort to make sure I'm comfortable. She is also really good with my kids. They have been going to her since they were two. Today I saw Dr. Lee as a new patient. This was the best day I have ever had at the dentist. My teeth were cleaned quickly and PAINLESSLY! My old dentist used to scrape and claw at my teeth until they bled. Dr. Lee used an ultrasonic plaque remover and the entire procedure took less than 5 minutes!!! My teeth have never felt so clean! Then, Dr. Lee used another tool and fixed one of my teeth by making it even with my other front tooth. My old dentist wanted to charge me $2500 to replace this crown but Dr. Lee charged me ZERO $$$! I left the office feeling so happy and beautiful! My sisters used to tease me about my tooth, but now they cannot tease me anymore! GO TO Dr. LEE!!! You will be so happy you did! read more

If you look at most bad reviews on this dental practice, it is not about the dentist but the office management staff and how they run the business! I went to them for a couple of years because of I move away from Saratoga and they are near by my office but got so mad about how the front office Chinese lady mess around with my schedule and have an attitude as if she owns the place that I just left them and went back to my old dentist eventhough it will be 1 hr drive to Saratoga but she opens on Saturdays. Dr Lee: Nice and good dentist. No complaint on the dentist. Sometimes another dentist treat me instead depending on which day. I prefer seeing one dentist, but not minding it too much because other dentist is good too. Front office Chinese lady: bad attitude and sometimes rude (why is she the front office staff, I never know). She acts like she owns the place, has a real holier than thou attitude. They schedule people really tight so they can see more people per day / per hour. It is a processing cow business, not patients' care. Service is aweful! Timewise, they are not flexible (how could they when they over schedule?) This lady reminds me of the United airline incident "if you don't do what I said, I will beat the h... out of you". I left them because I will not pay for bad service despite nice dentists. I love Rivermark Dental! Dr. Lee has been my families' dentist for five years now and we always have had a great experience with her. She has a gentle touch, works fast and tries to cause as little discomfort as possible. I also highly recommend her as a dentist for kids: my daughters actually like seeing her! I've had a lot of work done over the years: crowns, tooth extractions and fillings. Not once have I felt that I had unnecessary work done or being taken advantage of. I will never come back to this place.......this happened back in 2004 or 2005. Their office manager/receptionist Cindy was a total and complete incompetent airhead! I am not sure if she is still there but wow she wasn't the "brightest crayon in the box". Dr. Lee told me that I could replace my silver filling with ceramic fillings so that they were unnoticable and apparently "better for you". I was told by the Office Manager that my insurance would cover most of the work and that it would be about $150 for the 4 teeth. She even stated that she called the insurance company to confirm this and put it as an estimate. Now I understand that it was purely an estimate but she was wrong...it came out to be $800. The funny thing was, I was never notified of this charge until I got a letter from a Collections agent??!! WTH??!! This was 3 months after my visit and I thought I was all taken care of. She didn't even bother to call me and at least tell me that she was wrong and what I owed. It would have been alot less embarrassing just paying it at that time then having to tell the Collection agent what happened!! So I went to see her after this happened and she apologized and acted confused..whatever! I was pissed. I paid what I owed and told her to make sure she called the Collection agent and get it off my credit!!!! And she did...... I wouldn't go back.....I felt like their office was unorganized although it was shiny and pretty when I went there. I like all the doctors in this dental office. After being a patient there for over 4 years, I am convinced that they are truly professional. Even bad reviews agree that the doctors are best-in-class in bay area. Office employee may be too straight-forward when it comes to logistics but I still love their upfront clarification for billing and etc. My minor complaint would be that it is hard to find parking space in lunch hours. Horrible Dentist. I had a appointment with Dr. Lee for a regular cleaning at 1pm. I get there at 12:45pm, and she keeps me in the lobby until 1:30pm. I was on my lunch break, and she wasted 30 minutes of it waiting for her. They were not busy, not a single other patient was in the office. 30 minute wait, I can live with. What really made me mad was, that she got me in the chair at 1:30, and I was already out of there at 1:45pm (notice the time of my post? 1:56pm). Her 15 minute cleaning was the laziest apt I have ever had. All she did for my cleaning was polish my teeth really fast. That is NOT a cleaning. If you want good service and a REAL cleaning/checkup, do not go to Dr. Christine Lee. All the other reviewers are correct, I only wish I had read yelp reviews before I came here. read more

Base on the reviews I was scared to come to this dental clinic. I asked my friends how well I should trust a Yelp reviews when it comes to a dentist office. They advise me that either people like there dentist or don't so just go and see what happens. My last dentist was in Canada about 8 months ago. I had no problems then so I didn't expect that I would have any major issues. This dental clinic is clean and the facility seems updated with décor and tech. They were so nice watching my kids as I was getting my teeth exam. When Dr.Lee looked at my X-Rays and my mouth her recommendation is to re do 2 of my fillings because are "leaking/cracked" and I have about 10 cavities. Dr.Lee likes to get all problems out of the way to have a perfect mouth was my impression. They had a zoomed in camera to take pictures of my teeth and I can see the dark brown lines in the bad parts of my teeth that look like it's causing holes and the fillings that I did get done I saw the "crack". So I scheduled an appointment to have Dr. Lee to fix the problems. Nina the receptionist (super nice) said Dr.Lee is a very busy doctor and the next appointment was 3 weeks out. Nina confirmed me on the phone one day prior to my appointment that I have my dental appoint at 6pm. I prayed that night for God to take care of me as I can't tell if they are doing anything right or if I really need all of these dental work done. The day of the appointment I arrive at 6pm and waited about 15mins to get seated by a different dentist. She did not introduce her but asks if I was ready to get started. Confused I told her that Dr.Lee was the dentist I had the appointment with to get my dental work done. She looked at me guilty of the untold switch, telling me that Dr. Lee wasn't able to do it since they had another dentist scheduling conflict and that they just transferred me over to her. She asked if I was okay with having her do my dental work which I wasn't and had to reschedule. I just felt a huge lack of trust in this place now. The receptionist Nina apologize that she was on vacation when this happen and was trying to keep track of who patient for which dentist and apologized of not confirming with me on the phone if it was okay to have a different dentist other then what was scheduled. So I arranged for next available appointment which was 2 weeks out. I was upset and discouraged with the dental office as I had my husband come home early to watch our kids to just make the appointment! They apologized multiple times and I not going to yell or scream or demand as nothing could be done. The dentist has 2 children herself and has to go home to them. They can't do much about the prices since it's with the PPO insurance company. They sent my X rays to me by email and I got a 2nd opinion. I went to see another dentist Dr. Myrna Hilo. She agreed that one of my major fillings was cracked and leaking and there was even a small cavity. When she sprayed water at it and poke it and I told her it didn't hurt. Dr. Hilo said it best to leave it then as the cavity isn't deep and its best not to disturb the filling. By maintaining flossing and brushing it could take years before the cavity can be a bothersome and that dental work to fix it would be more invasive. She explained to me that I did have about 9 cavities but only 3 of them she would fix as the others can be monitor for now. She explain that fixing cavities on the side of my teeth would mean she would need to drill at the top then drill to the side to "fill" the cavity which isn't necessary when I can keep the integrity of my teeth and prevent the cavity from growing by regular brushing/flossing. So I rather keep my teeth the way they are rather than spending LOADS of money to have a whole bunch of fillings and have a cavity free mouth. read more

For Dr. Lee (female) at Rivermark Dental at santa Clara,CA: I had scheduled my deeep cleaning & was a horrible experience. Dr. Lee was quite ruthless in her handling the patients including me. She was not empathetic at all for all the pain which I was going thru - instead she kept talking about her "PERSONAL" life with her assistant while working on my tooth. Inspite of telling her that when she gave me an injection shot - that it hurts a lot & I was in tears - her response was her laughter. Really ! Is it good to laugh when someone is in pain! & complaining to you as your a doctor! She has messed up my jaw as well. Thank god I just got only one side of cleaning from her . DO NOT GO TO DR. I went to this dentist 2 times, once for a teeth cleaning and second time for a filling for a cavity. Such a horrible experience that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. It wasn't just the roughness of the female dentist or the rudeness when I asked her a simple are these 10 cavities something I need to address now? It was the fact the staff here is so arrogant. I was in pain the entire second visit even with the numbing shots and the dentist did nothing to correct it. Simply atrocious. Starting with the receptionist, I had asked if there was a water fountain anywhere in the office. The receptionist said she would bring me a bottle of water, but even after being called for dental cleaning 10 minutes later, the water had not materialized. Surprising, considering I was the only person in the waiting area. And it would have been understandable if the phones were busy, but such was not the case. The receptionist would prove to be the best part of my first (and only) visit. As the dentist began the work in earnest, she used excessive amounts of force I had never before experienced. I let that slide, considering maybe if was her particular heavy-handed style. I politely asked if she could ease up on the pressure and not stab at my gums so much, to which she responded by ridiculing my previous dentists. Continuing on, she then started calling me the wrong name a few times. I let this happen simply out of amusement. Finally, the dentist insisted I had a cavity. Interesting, considering I had nothing of the sort since my last dental appointment, and since then have actually flossed more and used Listerine regularly (in addition to already good dental hygiene). Needless to say, I will be getting a second opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if she herself had caused intermediate to long-term damage. Unless you happen to be a masochist who enjoys being insulted and duly ignored, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. read more

On July 2nd, I was 6 months pregnant and had a slight tooth ache. I went to Rivermark dental expecting Dr. Lee but was seen by one Dr Dhillon, who took X-rays of my upper tooth (L&R) and told me I had deep cavities that needed immediate attention. After 5/6 numbing jabs of local anaesthesia he got to work on my right upper teeth to fill two cavities. Two weeks after that i felt that there was a sensitivity that was progressively increasing and the floss was not going in between the two fillings, so I went back. This time Dr. Dhillon was extremely RUDE. At 6 months pregnancy I have to sit up once in every 10 min to catch my breath and he was RUDE. The first time I asked him if I can catch my breath he told me to come back and see Dr. Lee the next day as he there was not much he can do. So I went back next next day, Dr. Lee who had also worked on my left side (a week before) redid Dr. Dhillon's work on right side. However things got worse after that the sensitivity had now become a jabbing pain. Every time I drank water or even ate a salad the pain would travel from tooth to the right jaw, ear and eventually giving me a headache. I ended up taking Tylenol every single day, so after 2 weeks of this on august 2nd I went to see another dentist. (I am now in my 3rd trimester). This dentist took one look and said there was too much of overhand of the cavity fillings, she had to polish of quite a bit on both sides. Its been a week since I saw the new dentist and the pain is gone. These guys at rivermark dental have no clue, they dont know what they are doing. They made my pregnancy unbearable from 25th week to 30th week. Rhonda at the front desk and the Dr's Assistant are very nice and helpful but that ofcourse is not of much help if the dentist is bad. Going to the dentist can be daunting and this place is like taking your car into the mechanics. I went there for a cleaning and they recommended I get all kinds of work done, including replacing an expensive crown. I got a second opinion and I didn't need the crown. I hadn't been to a dentist in about 15 years. Yeah, I know. Bad. Needless to say my teeth were really jacked up. Cavaties, needed new crowns and two root canals. Whew. Got them all done and my teeth feel and look so much better. Onto whitening and invisalign to correct some minor post-braces crowding and I'll be set. Dr. Lee is great and explains everything very well, never pressured me into anything I didn't want to do but also gave mw the reality about what I was facing.
