We had 10 people join us for Easter brunch at Rivers Bend because we had heard such great reviews. They had packed as many people as they could in that restaurant. We sat at a fold up table with fold up chairs, squished together. At no time did I see a price for brunch. I looked online and did not find one. They did not tell us that sodas came with the meal or that the mimosas were not bottomless. The food at Perkins or Dennys would have been better. The prime rib was tough and tasteless. It was not the experience I had hoped for. We will not be going back. Perhaps serving less people and making it about quality and not quantity would be a better idea for this restaurant. read more

The evening got off to an immediate bad start when I stepped up to the Host only to receive a snarled "Were you next?" as if I'd jumped the line, something I'm careful never to do. When I replied "Yes, I am," he looked over my shoulder at my husband and friends to confirm. "Weren't you next?" To which they replied, "Yes, she's with us." The Host then allowed me to speak. I said, "We're the (Insert Last Name Here)s, and we have a res..." He said, "Hold It, HOLD It, HOLD IT!!! You have to give me your last name!" "OK, as I was saying, we're the ..." Somehow, he then managed to locate our reservation. I mentioned we were early because we'd like to go to the bar for a cocktail before dinner. His reply, "Well, you're going to HAVE to because your table isn't ready." So, we went to the bar amid much discussion along the lines of, "WOW, is that guy in the wrong job!" Two minutes later, we learned he's the owner. O M G. 30 minutes passed and still no one had come to retrieve us from the bar. My husband went to the Host desk and was admonished that we had not reminded him that we were here. Actually, we had. Twice. After we received our menus, we noticed a few discrepancies from the web site. For example, the sauteed scallops I had planned to order were listed on the web site menu at $36 but, when I asked the server, they were $46. You get the idea. (I have subsequently noticed that prices are no longer listed on the web site.) I do have to say the server was a sweetheart and the salad bar was great. On the other hand, my husband ordered tenderloin tips (an item he's ordered at River's Bend on many previous occasions) and was served beef stroganoff. He detests beef stroganoff. One might think that in a "fine dining" establishment such as this, someone would notice that a customer took ONE BITE of their dinner and let the rest just sit there. For that matter, I doubt a REAL fine dining establishment would have either tenderloin tips or beef stroganoff on the menu. Don't be fooled by claims made on the web site - this is a Wisconsin Supper Club with jacked prices. Period. Too bad because my husband and I went to Rivers Bend on our first date - in 1977. I was staying up in Green Bay and wanted to treat my friend to a nice dinner. We're from Chicago so we have a lot of great restaurants to choose from. This place was amazing! Overall ambiance was very nice. Not too fancy, not too casual. It has a supper club feel to it. This was the best meal both of us have had in quite some time. We ordered the calamari and shrimp cocktail as appetizers. The calamari was super fresh and the shrimps were huge. Both dishes were generous portions. I ordered the New York strip, which was cooked to perfection and so delicious. My friend had the porterhouse. His was very good, but he said mine was better. We both got the mashed potatoes which were also delicious. The meals come with the salad bar, which had a great variety of choices and was fresh. We really lucked out having Derek as our server. He was the best server either of us have had in quite some time. Derek was very informative, pleasant and gave just the right amount of attention. It was clear he really likes his job. We let him know how great we thought he was and also asked to speak to the manager to let her know as well. We were too full for dessert, but Derek helped me choose an after dinner drink which was the perfect ending to a delicious meal. My friend and I couldn't stop talking about that meal for days. Rivers Bend has always been in my top 3 Green Bay area restaurants. Sadly after my last visit it has tumbled down the list. My wife and I sat at the bar waiting for the kids to show up closer to the reservation time of 7:00pm. Our OF's and drinks at the bar were on point, as well as the Grasshopper and Brandy Alexander after dinner. Wonderful time at the bar with great bartenders. On to the food portion of the review. Sone had filet and scallops. He said the filet was good and he enjoyed the taste of the scallops. They looked a little on the small side, around the size of a quarter. Sons girlfriend has Strip Steak with fries, no complaint from her. Daughter had a lobster tail and twice baked. Lobster was good but the twice baked was dry, almost as if it was just a baked potato. My wife and I each had Prime Rib M'R with twice baked. The prime rib and a rubbery texture and the appeared to be very little, if any seasoning on the ourside of the cut. It looked like a cheap cut of meat, Maybe just a bad loin. Twice baked were like out daughters, dry. The table service was lacking. Waitress took very long between visits to the table and had to be reminded to bring butter a couple of times. I ordered a beer when the food was brought to the table. The beer arrived after I had finished with meal. Very indifferent when mentioning that to her. Was asked how the meal was by the hostess. Told her it was edible and she gave no response. Our bill with food and before and after drinks was over $550.00. The quality didn't match the price point. if I had went to a bar that served the same prime rib I would still be disappointed by have several hundred dollars left in my wallet. Hopefully just and off night, but the will have to work hard to get back into the top 3 in the area. read more

Great restaurant, great food, great service. Went on a Friday night and had a reservation. We enjoyed a great old fashion at the bar and liked the jazz pianist playing in the background. We were seated at a nice table overlooking the river. Our party all ordered different entries and everyone said their meal was excellent. Our server was great also. Will return often. Yumbo! Had a very nice meal at Rivers Bend. Betsy was our server. Friendly and stopped at our table a number of times to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything. The manager also stopped to see if everything was ok. I always think it's a nice touch when the manager takes the time to ensure guests are happy. The food was awesome. Large salad bar with everything you can imagine. My husband enjoyed the hot bacon dressing. People were asked to wear masks and gloves at the salad bar. Everything was fresh and appealing. We had schrimp and Mahi Mahi. Both of our meals were delicious. Nice selection of sides. Beautiful dining room overlooking the Duck Creek. We will definitely be back. Great Covid safety measures. If I could deduct stars I would. I have never been so rudely treated in a restaurant in my life. After bringing 10 people here for a Sunday Brunch the food was terrible! Chicken was cold and dry, French toast sticks were cold, there was some kind of meat they had there to carve but I'm not even sure what it was. When I complained to the management.. the owner Steve Van rudely yelled at me from behind the bar and told me he just had the food and it was great. He said if I didn't like it that was too bad.. just don't come back. Well I for sure won't. And if I was any other paying customer I WOULD NOT GO HERE EVER. Brunch is amazing, make sure to reserve ahead of time especially near holidays like at least a week in advance for the Sunday brunch.

Went the long missed salad bar- after building my salad and applying my favorite French and blue dressing I noticed at the end of the bar HOT BACON DRESSING, too late to change so I went and got a second salad with the HOT BACON- excellent. Overall, a great experience. Typical supper club atmosphere. They have a salad bar, but didn't have some of the random "salads" found at other supper clubs, like potato salad, Jell-O salad, etc. However, they had plenty of toppings for the salad, along with cheese and crackers. We ordered crab cakes for an appetizer, and got the prime rib and the lemon butter shrimp. All in all, the food was great. It's just a bit pricey in my opinion compared with some of the other supper clubs in town. Our meal (with an appetizer and 3 drinks) was just over $100. Thankfully we had a gift card. We also had great service from the wait staff. I think it's a place I'd go back to if I had friends that wanted to go, or if I maybe only went for appetizers and a few drinks. read more

River's Bend is a very large classic Wisconsin supper club with everything you would expect. The service is good, food good, atmosphere good. It has an operating salad bar (rare nowadays) and classic menu choices such as walleye, prime rib, cheese curds, etc. The big surprise on my most recent visit was a sham charge on the bill called "supply chain economic charge." What? You read that right. The owner has decided to slip in an extra charge, not noted on the menu or anywhere else, to bolster his profits. I believe that you should simply charge what you need to charge to make the profit you need. Don't ask the customers to pay these BS kind of extra fees and hope they don't notice. Now that it's under new ownership, we decided to give it a shot. The interior has been entirely redone, and has an enjoyable view of the creek/river. Service was top tier, everything on the menu looked amazing and prices were very reasonable. The food was DELICIOUS! I had crab cakes for my entree, and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of crab and lack of "fillers". All in all the best dining experience I've had in a long time. read more

went for my wife's birthday with another couple. 2 petite tenderloins, one large prime rib, and one Liver n Onions. petite tenderloins were cooked perfectly, one well done, one medium well. Prime Rib at med rare was also spot on. My BIL had the Liver and said it was some of the best he had! We took his word on that! salad bar has lots of options, drinks were well poured and tasty.Vege and potato options were great as well. very good service, friendly, professional, and their when we needed them without being overbearing. A lot of people in the area swear by this place and I don't understand why!! Let's start with the bar staff. You wait forever for a drink because they're chatty chatty with hardcore regulars at the bar. They usually have about 4 bartenders on staff on a Friday night and they ignore you like the plague. I don't understand. We've been to this restaurant way more often than we should have. My husband likes the all you can eat crab legs but we decided it wasn't worth it. They're cold most of the time and my food is usually just O.K. Every time we go, we leave disappointed. We finally decided, no more chances. read more

This restaurant is not COVID safe at all. We arrived at 4 pm for dinner. They still offer a salad bar, and when we left the bar area was packed with people with no masks. Never there in the old days but been there since it was redone, and it is great! Staff is super friendly the bar are is awesome and they had a live piano player there even! We didn't even know it as we sat out in the sunroom area but our steaks came with salad bar so that was a plus. Was at the restaurant last month and had a great time. Came back last week and found the owner implemented a "supply chain' fee on all sales (both at the bar and in the restaurant). This is terrible. Just raise prices...don't act like a utility company which buries fees on its customer's bills that are simply margin enhancements. I get inflation is here, but this is not how to deal with it. Got to restaurant about 20 minutes early to have a drink at the bar. Checked in before hand and we were told that they would let us know when our table was ready. Our reservation time came and went. After 15 minutes past our reservation time I went up to check on our table and we were told it was just about ready. 15 minutes later we finally got sat down. After another ten minutes we finally got some water . Another 10 minutes and our waitress came over( with an attitude) and took our drink order. That took another ten minutes. The entire meal continued in this fashion. Not impressed at all! We go to a lot of restaurants and have not had this type service anywhere else. read more

This is one of the nicer places to dine on the west side. The restaurant is very comfortable with great views and exceptional service. We most recently visited for Sunday brunch. The brunch items included a salad bar, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast sticks, ham, fried and baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, sour dough rolls, a prime rib carving station, and dozens of desserts. I'm sure I'm missing a few items that I can't recall. I enjoyed the endless Mimosa option as well. I don't drink bloody Mary's, but nearly every table around us had one so they must be good! The morning sunshine was a nice perk coming in through the beautiful glass windows overlooking the river. Extremely disappointing. Super crowded; people at the salad bar didn't wear masks; tables were very close together. Had the grilled mahi-mahi; it was so dry I couldn't eat it. No spices or flavoring. The baby reds were boiled and cut into chunks - again no seasonings or flavor. Paid $49 for a steak (all steaks on the menu were listed as 'market price') that, again, had zero seasonings or flavor. My husband and I chose River's Bend for our anniversary dinner and we absolutely loved every aspect of it. We walked in and we were surprised by how beautiful and open it was w/a Piano player playing his music. We went to the bar for pre-dinner drinks and got 2 dirty martinis made perfectly. We were seated in their patio type of room that had a beautiful view to the outside. I got the French onion soup and prime rib that were both perfect. I get French onion soup everywhere I go and I would say this is the best one in the GB area. I was hoping for better. salad bar and liver paste was the best thing about my meal. I was with my wife so she did not want me to complain otherwise I would have. First the bartender and the hostess were nice and accommodating, we sat down and our waitress was ok not great not bad, just ok. we go to the salad bar and the liver paste was excellent. The bad is the food comes out, we ordered Bruschetta and it was cold and not very taste, then I get my French onio soup and it was on special and it was terrible ( croutons with cheese on top and no soup it was all soaked up, then a bay leaf was left in the soup). not good. well our food comes out and my wife had a twice baked potato and it was bad poorly mad and a brown unappealing potato skin along with a fillet. I had shrimp teriyaki and it was ok but not worth $28. I understand it can be hard to get people to work, but this place needs to be better. $120 was not worth $25 bucks. this place should be better read more

One of the best restaurants in Green Bay! I've always loved it but it's even better since it re opened. I went during restaurant week and the food was so good! We sat in the corner right by the water and it was absolutely wonderful. Service was great too! The bartender came by to make sure our drinks were ok even after we left the bar. read more
