Persimmon Creek campground is a peaceful and beautifully maintained place for families, groups, and solo travelers - with or without pets! There's bamboo fishing poles provided at no charge where you can fish in the central pond - and pull out a fish with virtually every cast! Then there's the stunning creek that borders the entire eastern side of the campground where you can swim or pan for gold - it's amazing! The showers and bathrooms are some of the best we have seen, and the full hookups were reliable. Lots are spacious and feature picnic table and fire ring, with plenty of room for your rig and gear. The best part about this campground is Tony and Karen, the owners. They'll provide you with exactly what you need, including friendly, meaningful conversation. We stayed at this campground for a month and it was always a pleasure interacting with these two. We wanted to stay longer and regret leaving but we're off to explore the rest of the country on our search to buy some land. It's close to the dam and water access: The owner/manager is very welcoming, super nice and so helpful. Our kids stayed in one of the rooms and enjoyed their stay as well. They said the bed was super comfortable and the room was clean. It is our preferred place to stay when in the area as we tried the KOA once, and it's definitely a KO-nAy for us. We had one of the sites "down the hill" where the long-term campers stay. It was FABULOUS. Lovely grassy areas, and a pretty creek. Our kids were 2, 5, and 7 at the time and played outside ALL THE TIME. We always had good service from the park staff. Since we were RV newbies, the park owner and his assistant had to help us a LOT, but they were always ready and willing. Anyway -- for an address close to everything, for a fairly low monthly outlay, this place Can't Be Beat.

Very kid and dog friendly! The bathhouse is brand new, so lovely, and is the cleanest bathhouse I've ever been in at an RV park. The owners are some of the kindest people we've met in NC, super accommodating, ensured we liked our spot, and set up a picnic table and fire pit for us to use at the site. Truly the best Campground we've ever stayed at. I highly recommend staying here, whether for a night, a week, or for a long term!!!

Views of beautiful tall trees…read more The sites are very spacious on large gravel surrounded by green grass that run all along the creek where you can dip your feet in, throw in a line, observe the Ducks and Blue Heron or just listen to the serene sound of the water. It also is a short drive to many activities should you choose. A short drive to the quaint town of Murphy for vintage shopping, wine tasting, brewery and plenty of places to grab a bite. We highly recommend the fried pickles at Chevelle's! Owners, Jon and Eileen are so welcoming and always available if needed. New bathroom/showers will be finished by Spring 2024. I had an encounter with 2 loose dogs, one of which was large and threatening and could not be controlled by the owner - an elderly gentleman. I had 2 working dogs with me on leashes and left within the hour without hooking up as I did not feel safe. I had to scramble for another park on a Saturday evening, twice as far away from where I needed to be. Refund was refused, even though the office manager who I reached on Monday said this has occurred before. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau.

The park has a lot to do, if I weren't just passing through I definitely wouldn't have gotten bored. What are the stone towers on each side of the river? I didn't have time to ask, but will on my next go around as we will be back.
