This place is the WORST that I have ever dealt with!!!!!! Do not trust anything that they say or do!!! They kept my car for three days and when I got it back nothing was done and now the car over heats!!!! WTF!!! Riverside Auto is the worst experience dealing with an auto shop I ever had in my 58 years of being on earth. When I arrived at the shop to have my car diagnosed the owner was arguing with a customer and the customer was so angry he was shaking, not to mention the whole place smelled of Marijuana, that should have told me that this is not the place to be, but it didn't, being me trying to get the best and cheapest work I could I went on and let them look at my car. I told the mechanic what I thought It was and he said he would check It out and let me know, well he said he put two new hoses on put a brand new thermostat and housing and and some kind of bypass in the heater hose line that was cracked and kept my car for two days while I was calling them the whole time they had my car and them not answering my phone calls to see what was going on with my car. I had to go to their shop and they told me the car was fixed and ready to go after the $490.00 dollars they charged me. Once I got my car home to find out it was running worse than it was before I took It to them water dripping running hot, it wasn,t running hot before I took it to them oh and did I forget to mention that the owner carries a GUN and wears it for his customers to see. After I went back to discuss the problem with the owner/manager, It didn't take me long to realize why he carries and shows a Gun!!!!!!! I took my car down the street to another auto shop and had them look at it and they told me the work wasn't done and they wrote it on their receipt that it hadn't been done.. I payed Riverside Auto Care half in cash and half with my credit card, I called my credit card company and put a stop on the payment !!! They are not BBB Accredited. Very bad experience with this place. They had my truck two days for a ball joint repair. I specifically asked before I brought it up there if it could be done that day since I had work the following day and she told me yes. They never gave me a courtesy call to let me know it's taking longer than usual, nothing. I called and they never answered. I found a ride up there after they had it two days and they still never touched my truck yet. I said I was going to take it and they said it was taken apart but not fixed yet. If I wanted to take it before it was fixed I had to pay $200. Absolutely unprofessional place that wouldn't just tell me the truth and say they don't have the time to fix it that day or the next. I went here on a Monday to have some work done on my Yukon. They told me it'll be done the following day (Tuesday). I called the following day and it wasn't done. I then called Wednesday. It still wasn't done. Then on Thursday I found out they lost the keys. One of the managers blamed the mechanic for having the key. The mechanic said he didn't have it. Friday they finally called a locksmith to get a new key done but I had to pay for a new keyfob. They ruined the plans I had involving this vehicle for the week. I asked them for some type of discount for the inconvenience they wouldn't budge. All they kept saying was "appreciate you man". I later found out they over charged me for the parts (3x the retail value). I'm never going there again. read more

We dropped off our 2006 Ford f150 to get a replacement motor put in on October 15 2020.,(we did not supply the motor). Adam the manager quoted me 2500 total and they would supply the motor. I was told to leave a 1000 deposit and pay the remaining 1500 in 5 days when the vehicle was finished. I am writing this post on December 20th 2020. They still have my truck and now have added an additional 1500 in damaged parts and they want me to pay for it. I have been layed off since March because of covid and have 3 children and household we are trying to keep together. We used this shop because of the ratings they had and the previous reviews.  However our experience was anything but! These guys are straight shooters. I do almost all work myself on my car, but this particular time I couldn't so, I brought in my car for new brake pads, rotors and calipers. They use quality new parts and work pretty quick. The work was done correctly and for as descent of a price as you would expect from an auto care shop. It's hard for me to pay this type of money $350 for this work, but when you don't have a choice this is the place I won't mind coming to. read more

ALet me tell you, Riverside auto has been there for me and my family for many years starting with the 1st location on Southfield road Lincoln Park store. They fixed an issue I was having on my 1997 Ford Explorer that other mechanics could not fix. Some of the other local mechanics wouldn't even touch it because they had no idea what the problem could be. The most recent issue I had with my 2003 Town and Country was a "No crank, No Start" and me and my father(self proclaimed mechanic) worked on it for 3 days starting with all of the continuity test along with taking the starter up to the local parts store. Long story made a little shorter the Starter failed tests. Problem solved right? No, so I had no choice but to contact a couple local mechanics and the Riverside Auto Experts were there to help. I was at the wall and couldn't get over! Jason was a pleasure to work with and informed me that he would come and tow the vehicle within the hour. Keep in mind they have their own tow trucks, which means cheaper on the wallet if you have them tow and do the work compared to having the local mechanic pay another company to tow it and slap a third party fee on top?? Back to my drama the problem was inside the trans(valve body), and some sensors sending units etc? Jason called me and said he had the diagnosis and that he was almost certain he knew this was the problem. So I put my trust in the local mechanic. I know bad idea right? Nope!! Let me tell you when he called me and told me he had it running I was so pleased with the price I asked if he could do a couple more things that I have been personally putting off. So when I was there to see it run for myself I asked him to fix and replace other things, full tune up(wires, plugs, fuel filter etc.) I had a slight oil leak sI had them replace the oil pan gasket. I am extremely satisfied with their services and would recommend these guys to my Grandma!! Compared to other estimates with other local mechanics I am very appreciative of the price I got! These guys are the real deal, and I feel that the service I got would have been at least double the price anywhere else!! Thank you Riverside for the A+++ service! Horrible customer service ... had my truck in their shop and dealership only to get back and same problem continue same day they told me it was fixed I took back and they kept truck n had to take to another shop because they could not fix a problem when it just came from dealership. Spent over 3,300 dollars only to eventually get truck back and have it break down 2 wks later and find out mechanics did not do 2,100 wiring job properly and I had to spend another 500 to get fixed correctly ... they have horrible customer service between receptionists everyday they got new ones as well as owner .... noone ever calls you back and they just make decisions and expect you to just be ok with it without consulting you first.... This place is a joke. Very unprofessional, untimely and kind of conning. Let me start off with I came here to have them fix a squeaking noise coming from a strut. Told them I need to know when they'll check it out because I need by the next day before they close. They told me they'd call me and let me know if they'll check it out later on or tomorrow. They never called me later that day. Hell, they weren't gonna call me the next day either cuz I ended up going in there a half hour before they closed to get my car back. They haven't even looked at it yet. They hurry up and tinker with it for no more then 10 minutes. Tightened down some bolts via strut. Low and behold the noise was fixed, so I thought. By the end of that day it came back. And I was generous enough to give him $50 when he asked how much I think owe him for literally doing nothing but I was so happy to finally have the noise gone and I didn't really consider at the time about how poor quality of service I initially received and that my car had a whopping total of 10 minutes of shop time. This time around the other side was now making the noise. So I took it back and asked to tighten that strut down even though it should have been tightened when you did the other one the first time.... DERRR. So two minutes later he had it tightened and wah-la, no more noise. Well an hour later the initial noise came back the original side loud as ever. Went back and told them I want a refund since I paid them $50 to fix this squeaky strut that they clearly were unable to fix, go figure.. And he tells me I'm not getting my money back and said he can continue to inspect it which will cost me more money talking about may even need to get my struts replaced, even tho they're brand new. I said so what did I pay you $50 for? He said to check it out and tighten bolts. I said you guys offer free diagnosis and didn't do the service I paid you for.
