Another fabulous experience at Riverside Cafe. We had the Riverside Scramble and the Eggs and Pancakes combo. We worked with the ever so joyful Cynara. She was happy, polite and very good at getting our menus, taking our orders, getting our food and all the other things that you want to have with your delicious breakfast!!! Thanks so much to Riverside Cafe for having the best staff in town. You are greatly appreciated!!!!

Pros: very friendly and attentive staff Cons: found a grey piece of bacon? In my grilled Chicken salad, under the lettuce. Was this recycled from someone else's unfinished plate? I stopped eating and hoped I wouldn't get sick. Eggs in the salad were over cooked. Olives and diced tomato was mushy. The chicken actually tasted like fish...

This place was ok. We came in for breakfast on a Tuesday morning and it was pretty quiet but our server was very nice and patient with us. We ordered margaritas to start and they were good but not great. Hubby ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo and he said it was meh..apparently the chorizo was more like traditional breakfast sausage. I ordered the country potatoes and my eggs scrambled on the side for my munchkin to eat. The potato's really didn't have much flavor at all, just crispy deep fried chunks of potato with sides of guacamole, salsa and sour cream. One extra star for our servers patience with my rambunctious 1 year old though. Besides that, nothing spectacular to write home to mom about.

Looking forward to trying it out

Love this place clean and fresh look not to crowded and friendly staff. The food is well priced. I got the French toast sausage and eggs and I loved it. Thanks for great meal. Keep up the great work.

Appetizer sampler... overpriced ($18), burnt, frozen food.

Unfortunately the other negative reviews are accurate. We've been here twice and it's just not good. If you enjoy overpriced frozen food, this place is decent; otherwise I would check out other places in town. If you do brave going here, make sure you check your receipt because they will overcharge you and add on additional fees for items that would typically be included at other places (ie marinara sauce for mozzarella sticks).

How do they have the audacity to serve food when everything is burnt. And the steak is just tiny! A huge waste of money

Such a good breakfast and perfect portion.

It was my first time here. Before it was the Riverside Cafe, it was a Mexican restaurant, which was awesome. Although I've only gone there once. It was a small little cafe, the interior was simplistic and very cafe-like. "Please seat yourself" is what I love! Freedom! As soon as we sat down, we were presented with menus and asked what we wanted to drink. I ordered my usual water. The menu had a lot to offer and the prices were very reasonable. I chose the spinach omelette. It came with hashbrowns and toast. Let me tell you, it was the perfect amount. You know how Denny's and IHop gives you a giant portion of the omelette and small portion of hashbrowns and toast, or whatever else you order? Well, this was the perfect portion. I was able to finish it all, feeling full and not wanting to vomit. I did enjoy this cafe, and I may come back again for breakfast.

Five stars and beyond! This was our first visit to Camano Island and the Cama Beach Cafe…read more My husband and I recently visited Camano Island where we were lucky enough to have breakfast at Cama Beach Cafe. My husband, Mike, had the biscuits and gravy to which he gave a HUGE thumbs up. He frequently orders this dish and is generally disappointed; saying it's more like paste. I have told him to stop ordering it, but at Cama Beach Cafe, Coree (our server), said the Cafe's version was amazing. She was right! The Biscuit & Gravy was created with wild mushroom & silvana meats savory sausage gravy, on top of the homemade, buttery biscuit add two eggs for $3 which is very popular! And it was. I ordered extra crisp bacon and eggs with a Cama Cafe-made biscuit. I'm very particular about my biscuits (raised in the south) and was also very pleased. Plus, the homemade berry jam was extraordnary!!! Also, I wanted to say that Coree was absolutely 5-star!She was smiling, laughing, and providied excellent recommendations about what to order. We could see things coming and going on other tables and it all looked yummy. We were in the PNW celebrating my 70th birthday. Coree was so sweet and gave us one a Cama Cafe cheddar-ham scones as a birthday gift - I love my savories! We enjoyed our view of the beach and water from the deck. be sure to look up at the inside dining area with all the big wooden beams of the restored historic building at Cama Beach Historical State Park, which originally began as a private fishing resort constructed in 1934. Wonderful to behold. So knocked out by the food, we forgot to take any photos!

And when we got the food, like I said the place is "homey" so it wasn't anything I felt I couldn't do myself. How I really wanted to like this place but was massively disappointed and feeling honestly scammed…read moreout of my money: This is a tourist trap and not a beloved local restaurant like I thought it would be. The cafe was very busy when we arrived and had to wait about 20 minutes for an open table out on the deck. Due to how busy it was, I had high hopes that the food was good. Unfortunately it felt more catered to the one and done tourist - take their money with over priced mediocre food that certainly did not command either aesthetics or taste. What we ordered: 1. Fried calamari $18: this was the smallest portion on an appetizer plate with three calamari rings and a handful of what appeared to be minuscule tentacle pieces heavily battered to give the dish the appearance of "more". Bland and oily - nothing really outstanding here. 2. Captain's Platter $28: this was the most expensive item on the menu. I ordered it hoping that at least quantity wise it would be satisfying. It came with one fried piece of cod, one fried piece of halibut, four fried shrimp and fries. I have never eaten more bland fries in my life. They weren't even crunchy but soggy with oil as they laid under the fried fish, which likely was hurriedly plated on the fries without letting the oil drip off. The fish was overcooked for sure - the cod was so small that I was honestly offended. The shrimp - undercooked. 3. Strawberry lemonade $5: standard, on the sour side. The only pleasant thing I have to say is that the hostess and waitress were very sweet. They were definitely understaffed and I felt badly for them so I tipped well. But I would not go back and do not recommend - unless you like to waste your vacation money on this tourist trap.

We then tried to order a salad, and were told that oh also that wasn't available. honestly felt like they just didn't feel like making anything. The only real option left was smoothies and açaí bowls. We ended up ordering three açaí bowls for the kids and a smoothie. At around $15 per bowl, the portions were shockingly small--only about a quarter full with five banana slice and three strawberries. one bowl was missing almond butter. The protein* smoothie couldn't be made properly because they were out of the protein powder. They offered to substitute collagen instead - not the same thing but ok. no discount. no acknowledgement. I understand that restaurants run out of items occasionally, but between most of the menu being unavailable, the outrageous price for the quality of the output, missing ingredients, and the complete lack of an apology or acknowledgment, this was a very disappointing experience.
