Yes, they are small, the furniture doesn't match and the staff have changed - but the real reason I come to this restaurant is the owner Julie and her wonderful food. It's amazing how a small breakfast and lunch restaurant can make me feel like I'm home! Best Monte Cristo sandwich... ohh.. and that breakfast burger is awesome! But don't let those negative reviews fool you, just because a single SERVER isn't there anymore doesn't mean it's lost its charm. If you ask me, now it's better! Stopped in for breakfast with my children. the staff was extremely friendly and welcomed us to eat in despite the fact we showed up 20 minutes before closing. The food was delicious. my kids had eggs, toast, home fries, and bacon. I had a spinach, bacon, and tomato omelette. the home fries and bacon were cooked to perfection. The food was very reasonably priced. It was about $15 each. read more

Good food. BUT!!!! One of the workers, Chuck, needs to review proper food service hygiene. On two occasions that I observed, he has dropped plastic to-go cups on the floor, picked them up, and reused them. I spoke with the owner, Julie, after the second instance and she agreed that this was the wrong thing to do. On two occasions I have watched Chuck blow his nose and not wash his hands or change his gloves. After the second time I told both Chuck and Julie. Julie's response was to ban me from the restaurant. I used to eat there just about every day, spending about $400 a month. So, if you want me, I'll be at a very clean Cranberry Cottage. read more

First when we got there the guy told me and my friend that it was a 20 minute wait, no problem he told the group after us the same thing and told them they could wait outside so we did too. Then we came back in a few minutes later to use the bathroom and the guy goes "oh you guys wanted to wait" even though we told him we were. He then sits two parties (the same number of people as us) that got here after us before us. Then when he finally sits us down he immediately makes us get up and wait for a different table so a bigger party (that just got there and we've been waiting over a half hour at that point) could sit. Then when our food came they forgot something and there was a hair in the food. The waitress was nice about it saying she'd adjust the bill but they only took off a side of hash browns not even the meal the hair was in. When my friend went to go talk to the guy up front about it he got extremely nasty with her ripped the bill out of her hand told her to leave and not to come back. The worst breakfast experience I've ever had, which is so sad loved coming here as a kid but will never be back. read more

We came here for breakfast this morning and loved it. The service was just fine. The woman who took care of us apologized for being busy but really the wait to order was no different than other places. We had pancakes, omelettes, bacon and a delicious blueberry muffin with fresh blueberries and huge mugs of fresh coffee. Our table of four was happy and full when we left. I can honestly say we will be back again the next time we are in the area. Came back again on a Sunday morning. The place was packed and the food was just as good. We were greeted as though we were regulars as we walked in the door. "Sit anywhere you'd like!" No wait for a beverage order, with results brought quickly. Our orders were taken in reasonable time and 5 minutes after placing them my husband saw a sign with a special for banana, coconut, almond pancakes and his eyes lit up. He asked Kim, our waitress if he could change his order and she allowed with no issues. He was in heaven with these treats. The beans are made from scratch and had down home taste. So let me be honest right up-front here: I don't go here because I love the food. It's not bad, mind you, but it's still not why I go. I frequent the Riverside for four reasons: (1) My Little Girl likes going, (2) The prices are great, and, (3) Because of Danielle, the awesome waitress who knows everyone's name, everyone's order, and all that's going on with everyone. It's heartwarming to be in a place where there's kindness and caring and good-natured teasing and where you're greeted by name. As to the food: the portions are generous, the food tastes good, and the menu doesn't have a ton of healthy options, but it looks a bit like most of the regulars are there more for the portions and taste (and maybe Danielle) than they are for healthy options. (Picture included) This is a comfy enough restaurant which surrounds you in what could be described as your grandmother's over exuberant omage to candyland. As cited in many other reviews; the service and staff are a very friendly and talkative lot/bunch. We were engaged in a conversation regarding a shared affinity for crime detctive television. The food was prepared quickly and to order, and in fairness, the crowd was light. The omelettes were presented very well and the taste was good and served appropriately warm, but would require some seasoning to enhance the flavors. The coffee was of mid-range quality, but certainly better than Farmer Bros. The [side] of beacon was large, tasty, and crispy. Their popular cinnamon toast is good but comes with a layer of sugar on the crust which for me is not preferred. There is little doubt that this was unquestionably the finest breakfast I have had out in quite some time. For starters, the corned beef hash was just magnificent, easily the finest I have ever had in my life. The eggs were good, but the pancakes were just out of this world as well and I couldn't even dare to put any syrup on them, now THAT is saying something. Just a light butter and you're good to go with them. They also have a pumpkin caramel for a special which it's only unfortunate for me that I didn't see them early enough. But I will be back again soon. This is a marvelous stop in downtown Wareham and I can only hope it is just the start of some good times for meals on the main strip. read more

I've heard about this place many times between Yelp and Hockomock swamp Supper Club. Decide to stop in Wareham center today while we were on the cape and grab a coffee which they have flavored coffees and something to snack on. We ended up getting the blueberry muffin their famous cinnamon rolls and a lemon pineapple raisin muffin. Everything was as good and then some as all of the reviews that I had seen the muffins are very moist lots of fruit inside matter fact more fruits and muffin LOL. The cinnamon roll was very tender flaky lots of frosting like we like and well-cooked. The serving people were absolutely out of this world the lady was very helpful explained everything and made my order I got a butter pecan hot coffee and a medium regular iced coffee. I told him how I heard such great reviews about their cinnamon rolls and they ended up giving me a free cinnamon roll. Everything was exactly like people had describes and then some looking forward to going back and having breakfast at some point but they close in like 45 minutes actually under an hour and I didn't want to be rushed to eat so we just grab something quick. Place is very clean need inside everyone is social distance and acceptable and the only owner I apparently believe it is and the lady that works at a very very nice definitely worth a trip and a hidden jewel in the downtown of Wareham on Main Street it is four doors up from Cumberland Farms heading north. read more

Wow!! We were in town for a wedding last weekend and met up with some local friends for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Good quick set. We were seated within 5 minutes. Hot coffee was on the table right away! The wife and I both ordered Monkey Bread French Toast and bacon. Oh my god! This may be nature's perfect food! It was hot, sweet and just delicious! Bacon was cooked perfectly. Crispy for my wife and a little softer for me. Price was good. About $35 for 4 of us. I'll be back if I'm ever in town again! Staff was friendly; there appears to be a server dedicated to ensuring you never run out of coffee. The serving sizes were quite large; I judge the person who claimed they were too small and wonder the status of their weight management regimen. Food was delicious; I had the green pig, hubs did a French toast special with walnuts, bananas, and all sorts of other tasty items. The food came to the table pleasantly hot - the toast readily melted the butter spread on it. The home fries were deliciously cooked - not the greasy undercooked stuff you often see at breakfast. This is my new go to breakfast spot in Wareham! Visited the cafe for the first time today. Upon walking in it felt like a cute little country cafe. Hospitality was through the roof. I ordered the Riverside Special and everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. My father and I had some car trouble so we returned to the cafe about a half hour after we left. They were so nice. We ordered some coffees and they gave us complementary brownies for the headache we were going through. I will absolutely be returning again. read more

Riverside cafe is without a doubt the best breakfast spot within a large radius of Wareham. All the food is fresh, homemade, and delicious. The servers are happy, playful and attentive, The coffee is off the hook I asked for green Tabasco the first time I went and they didn't have any. The omelette was tiny. I'm guessing 2 small eggs. It was also prepared with too much oil. Very oily. Taste 3. Portion 2. The star of the breakfast was the home fries. Awesome breakfast/lunch restaurant that is not at all what it seems from the outside. Cozy, clean and comfortable, we were greeted by the friendly staff and sat ourselves. Had the homemade corned beef hash (so good!!!) and eggs breakfast, with a single pancake. Everything was hot, delicious and expertly prepared. Certainly not a fine dining joint if that's what you're looking for, more of a come as you are family/townie place. Super cute country cafe. Found this cute spot from our way down from the Cape making our way home to NY. The server was so friendly and humorous. The coffee was great and she kept it coming. The food was good I don't eat meat so I only had the home fries and beans which did have huge pieces of ham I was able to pick off. In-laws kept saying how quaint and cozy this eatery was. I love that they have games at every table encouraging families to put down their cell phones and interact with each other. I also loved that none of their mugs matched and decor was so cheesy but in tune with the type of eatery it is. Very homely.
