I took my boyfriends beat up old schwinn bicycle to these guys and asked them fix it up for his birthday. Not knowing exactly what needed to be done myself, Danny was very helpful and explained everything that needed to be replaced and suggested a tune-up as well. So I just walked out of this shop after walking around for about 20 minutes. I wanted to see if I could order a fitting I need for my daughters trail-a-bike. Checked out some baskets for my wife's bike, sat on a bike I liked not a bad price still no offer of help or a hello. Walked over to the Service area and saw their prices for service as my bike is due and I need to get it done still no offer of help. Finally I walked up to the cashier area to ask someone for help. There was a woman behind the counter that I was standing right in front of her. She reached in her pocket pulled out her red phone and made a call without even acknowledging me. Now I am wearing my hunny do list clothes as it is my day off so maybe that was why I was ignored. I am a Service Manager at a local car dealership and have quite a few people that I manage and one of our biggest rules is the 10 foot rule. Say hello to anyone within 10 feet of you. Now as for today I was ready to set up a $120 dollar service for my bike and buy a $45 dollar basket for my wife as well as the $50 seat I liked for her. However I walked right past the girl on the phone in the black Polo Shirt, the fellow in the red Cyclery shirt that looked like a Coca-Cola shirt as well as the fellow that had a beard and was wearing a black baseball cap and black Polo all of whom did not so much as say hello or goodbye as I walked out. I like to keep my money in Riverside with local businesses and I don't mind paying the price for good service but to at least be acknowledged would be nice too. read more

We will not take our bikes anywhere else! The service is fast and they do a great job. We have gone to other bike places and had bad experiences. So happy we found this place. We ride a lot, so finding a place that keeps us riding is important. Quickest tube and tire change turn around time compared to other bike shops in the area. Same day service is awesome! read more

My favorite bike shop. I have bought one road bike and two mountain bikes here. All Specialized. The people that work here are super helpful in every way. They helped me pick my bikes, they fix up my brakes, derailers, wheels, etc. when broken or when I upgrade. They all ride so they give me tips to make me better and faster. I see them out riding in Sycamore or on the road all the time and that's just cool. I've sent friends there who left with bikes and were just as happy as I am with the products and service. Plus, they are the only bike shop in Riverside open on Sundays. Highly Recommend this place. read more

I'll admit they have fair prices and quite good service, I went there to get my 2018 free agent novus fixed (back hub loose) and they said too much was wrong with it so they gave me a 2018 fit trl complete bike in exchange for the free agent. It was an upgrade and I got it free of charge. Me and my friends always go there for bmx repairs, on of my friends went there to get his hub fixed and the loosened his hub and didn't tighten it back up, the use wrenches instead of ratchets and have stripped my bolts. These guys are super helpful and friendly and they have a solid amount of parts in stock. I recently crashed on my mountain bike causing my foot to be ripped out of my clip less pedal. I took my bike in hoping the pedal could be repaired rather than having to buy a new pair (Shimano XTR). The mechanic said he would see what he could do, I waited for awhile and he told me he would give me a call so I didn't have to continue waiting in the store. I waited for less than an hour at home and he called me letting me know the pedal was repaired, the guy didn't stop until he could fix it and saved me a lot of money only charging me 20 dollars rather than having to spend about 100 for a new pair of the same pedals and he told me if I have any issues with it to bring it back in and they will talk to Shimano about getting me a new set for free. I've been there half a dozen times for service. A clean shop with very knowledgeable riders and mechanics. Delivery always beats the estimate. They never upsell, but they point out a problem if they see one. I'll keep returning. On expendables such as brake pads, I can trust them when they say, "We'll take a look and replace them only if you need them." read more

I have been around cycling in the Riverside area for 30 years and many of the employees in this store I've known for 20 years. I think that these guys are the best in the area. If I had a problem with work that they performed I would not hesitate to talk to Al and Steve and know they would do whatever is needed to make things right. This is a large store and the longer repair times are due to that. You might be able to walk into a small store and walk out with your bike but in a big shop that is harder to accomplish. The flip side is they have a good selection of parts and accessories that the smaller shop would not have the space to display or the financial resources to afford. If you are an accomplished cyclist you should be able to adjust your own shifting. If you don't know how then you need to learn because you will be out on a ride some day you or one of your pals will bang the rear derailler on a rock or drop the bile on the right side and then you will need to be able to do a field repair to help rescue yourself or others. If you bend the derailler in slightly and don't change the stop adjuster on the inside throw, the chain can come off into the spokes and destroy the rear wheel and toss you over the handlebars like a rag doll. So if you can't adjust your own gears get involved in a bike club and learn how. I would suggest a little procedure that works well for me. I find a bike store I like and then I tell them I'm going to do all my business with them and as long as they are fair on pricing I'll hang with them. No - I'm not going to drive across town to save 50 cents on inner tubes or come in and try on a helmet or shoes and then order it online from Performance. The other thing I tell them is if I bring my bike in for repair I want to get it back done right and I'l be chewing their ear off if it isn't. Yes we need to hold them accountable but bike shops are a lot more likely to get it done right if you are a loyal customer. You see back when I was in the bike business I had a customer come in and tell me that. We always had a good relationship and I went out of my way to make that loyal customer happy. Also, I would recommend that you join the Riverside Bicycle Club because it will get you a discount at this shop. So all that said I think these guys are good and pros and will do a good job. If they don't make you happy then go tell them about it and give them a chance to make things right. Rating businesses on the Internet is a tough situation because a large shop will receive more negative reviews that a small one because they have more customers that potentially could be unhappy. I was in bicycle retail for many years and in spite of going the extra mile and doing everything including giving people gracious and probably undeserved refunds, they were sometimes still unhappy. read more

Horrible shop. I took my new used bike to get service and told them that my gears were not working. They said that I might need some parts cleaned within the gears. They said over the phone it would be $40. When I got there, it became $40 each gear and that they wanted to clean both gears. They go ahead and clean the gears and keep the bike for over a week. Forgetting that my bike was there. I go and find out afterward that the gears were fine, I just didnt know how to use the gears. Theifs! read more

Save your time and go to a different bicycle shop. There are plenty of fine bicycle shops in Riverside, this is not one of them. I asked them to fix my front bicycle wheel because it was flat and I didn't know why. They checked it up and down and found nothing wrong so I asked them to replace the tube since I had come all the way down there anyways. They replaced the tube and while walking to the counter from the repair section (literally ten steps) the whole wheel just deflates. I look at the guy and he looks confused and has no explanation but that he would put another tube in. So I let him put another tube in, pumps the wheel up again and sends me off (probably knowing that the wheel will deflate on me again later) I drive 20 minutes home, open my trunk, grab the wheel to find out that it has deflated once again... No surprise there. The following morning I drive all the way back to this so-called "business" as a frustrated and angry customer. I walk in and none of the 4 guys behind the counter care to acknowledge my presence. I ask if I can speak to the manager who ends up being the guy that couldn't fix my tire the previous day. I tell him what happened and he says that he will have his "best mechanic" look at it. He sends a short Mexican guy my way who takes a look at my tire and simply tries to replace the tube, ONCE AGAIN. I said to him that I don't think that is going to do anything as we've tried that two times already. So he puts a piece of tape over an area he believes is sharp, pumps up the tube and hands me my wheel back. I say to him "how can we be sure that this will do the trick because I don't want to have to drive another 40 minutes roundtrip to come back here again". He shoots me the dirtiest look and says " I did what I can do, what else do you want from me? " At this point, I'm way too fed up to deal with the business anymore so I tell him to reconsider his profession and that he should not ever deal with customers and leave. This place specializes in bicycles yet can't even fix the most simple flat tire? That is like a doctor not knowing how to use a thermometer. Lack of knowledge and TERRIBLE customer service, I'd never even think to go back to this place... read more

I'm a huge fan of this shop, and my dad and step dad have both been customers of theirs for a couple of decades. Steve is especially awesome. He is always super friendly, down-to-earth and helpful. I'm just getting to know the ins and outs of riding and bikes, and he never makes me feel like an idiot, even if I'm asking a dumb question. Labor costs have been consistently cheap - even free for small fixes - and I often get good discounts on merch. I've also had good experiences with Mark and Richard. I definitely recommend this shop - go in and ask for any of those three dudes and you'll be well taken care of. read more

This was the first stop of my bike search. The selection is relatively varied, and there's not a ton of pressure to purchase immediately, but the service was pretty awful. They basically recommended a bike at the max of my price range without even asking me what I might use the bike for (road, mountain, hybrid..etc), and when I asked about frame size and comfort issues they tossed the concern aside and said I'd just have to adjust-- which was totally contrary to later cycling shops I perused. In my inexperience I almost bought a bike here, but I'm very glad I decided to look at other places that were more helpful. read more

This is a good local shop that will help you out with repair and upgrades for your bike. If they dont have something in stock they will order if for you, and it usually comes in within a few days. They have a good amount of bikes to select from and there are some quiet, low traffic streets behind the shop to try before you buy. I've always had great customer service, Richard is a good salesman that offers advice and answers any questions you might have. If you are a member of a local bike club, show them you membership card, they will probably give you a discount. read more

It is a busy shop and one of at the largest around with a great selection of bikes. Whenever I bring in my road or mountain bike for service, it usually is taken care of on the spot or within a day or two. Stay Away! I went to get a wheel. They sold me a wheel for $30 four months later the wheel had broken spokes and needed to be replaced. I went back to get a new wheel (same wheel) they told me I did not get that wheel for $30 and that I was a "Liar". These guys are remarkable. I can't believe I actually considered buying at a big-box store, I'm glad I didn't. I bought a Trek for myself a few years ago from Cyclery USA and then recently one for my daughter (she is an adult). I have purchased a number of accessories and used their service department. Both bikes were professionally custom fit to us by their staff. This has made riding easy, fun, and very comfortable. I'm out of shape yet I can ride 30 miles easily on that bike. When I buy gear I feel like they are looking for the great deals for me, and not just trying to sell me stuff. Their service department has kept my Trek riding and shifting like new. I want to thank Richard in particular as he really has made a lot of extra efforts for me (I am a pain in the rear, I know), but all of the staff have kept my best interests in mind and given perfect advice.
