I hate this bike shop! Each time I come in here it is always empty and full of employees doing nothing. They do not even acknowledge that you are there and the do not give you the time of day. This bike shop is also way overpriced. I like shopping at my LBS and i try not to buy from places like Jensons or performance. But this place is making it hard to not buy from those shops. Outstanding customer service. I called to get a bike rack hitch. The representative told me he had only one left. I asked him to place it on hold. He told me he would make sure all the parts were there and that he would build it for me! He called later to say it was ready. When I arrived, the cashier found my bike rack, and in the blazing heat, installed it on my hitch and showed me how to place my bike in the rack. I highly recommend Cyclery USA. Called the store asked if they had in stock Specialized S-Works road shoes (two BOA version) to try on for fit and purchase. Was told they had them all in stock. I travelled two hours from Ridgecrest, CA to go to their shop, only to see that they did not have the shoe in stock or available to fit. Additionally, their customer service reps are terrible. I paced and checked out the entire store, only for their three goons to just stand there to not help or assist me at all. I'd rate this place lower than one star if I could. I've been looking for a road bike online and was told I should go to a store to make sure the bike fits well. I walked into Riverside Cyclery USA around 11:30am. There were four guys behind the counter chatting and what looked like a manager in an office. None of them acknowledged me when I entered. I went over to the road bikes and looked at them for about 20 minutes. During most of that time I was the only person in the store. I was unable to get anybody's attention to help me. After about 30 minutes I left. I'm not sure they even knew I was there. I actually got better customer service and more questions answered from the online company. I've purchased a few bikes here in the last couple of years. These guys are the best!!! Selection: they have a good selection of bikes and accessories. What's unique about their assortment is that they are one of the few large stores remaining that carry both Trek AND Specialized. Since many dealers have become dedicated to one or the other brand it is hard to compare these two (three if you include Fisher) lines side by side, They have plenty of bkes, clothing, shoes, and accessories. They also carry a full range of bikes from the most expensive road racers down to scoot bikes for toddlers. Prices: nothing to report here. They are lower than MSRP, but no lower than the local competition. They do offer 12mo 0% financing on bike purchases. Service: Cyclery USA really stands out in this regard. They are always friendly and there is never any pressure to buy. They are always open to talk about your riding and if there's an adjustment to be made, they offer to do it on the spot (f possible). Here's my most recent experience. A few months back I purchased a new road bike. It was very nice, but after riding it for fifty miles I decided to upgrade to a better bike. No problem. Debbie and Al took my bike back, ordered the new one from Specialized and gave me a full credit for the original purchase. The new bike was going to take a few weeks to arrive and Debbie kept me informed ever step of the way. Since I picked up the new bike, I've been in the store about three or four times. Each time, they offer to make a free adjustment to make sure everything is working, e.g. derailleur cables, tire pressures, shoe cleats. You cannot go wrong shopping here whether it's a new Colnago or a BMX bike for your kid. A+ read more

I would be very careful with their trade in your bike with bicyclebluebook pricing deal. I have two very close mechanics that claimed my bike was in excellent condition (only 400 miles ridden). I took it in and the mechanic starts yelling out on purpose whats "wrong" with the bike, such as the chain needs to be replaced (it barely had any wear when using the park tool chain wear indicator). Even if the chain needed to be replaced, it should not have dropped my bike from 1.5k bicyclebluebook to $600 value... chains are only 40-60$.... He offered me $600 for a carbon frame full ultegra groupset bike lol. The bike had no physical damage to it, except for drive chain scratches due to the chain. read more

I will never return to this place My wife got me a $100 gift card from Cyclery USA. I lost it somehow. I had to call the store and only a manager (Mark) could help me. After phone calls and three visits He told me there was nothing he could do. I offered to brainstorm with him a solution l. He said he could try to get the card number again. After waiting 30 minutes he said even the store owner said they had the $100 and there was nothing they could do. Mark promised he would try everything he could. Pissed Off - New customer for LIFE!! Ok, I bought a Standardized mountain bike off craigslist. The bike had some derailleur issues but it was a good deal. I took it to Riverside Cyclery. They said it should get a full service; which I was cool with. They also told me (the next day) that it needed a new derailleur. This wasn't a surprise either; there was a 50/50 chance of that. Add in some additional parts and I'm at almost $140. Money I wasn't prepared to spend but I wanted a functional bike. THE ISSUE: Two weeks after getting my bike serviced and riding it almost every day (on the road), it had a meltdown. I was pedaling across a street and the pedals just stopped moving. The next thing I know is feels (and sounds) like the back end of my bike is being shredded. Well, it was! The chain had somehow wrapped around the derailleur, broken it off and stuffed it in my wheel. Needless to say the chain broke and I was stuck three miles from home. I took the bike back to Riverside Cyclery and was a little miffed because it had just undergone a full service (with a new derailleur). Two days later I got a call/voicemail saying it's all good and they needed my chain to finish the job. Are you efffing serious? No call to tell me how much it was going to cost me??? No explanation of what happened or who's fault it was. I called (that evening) and spoke to Jim! He sounded like a manager or at least someone that was in a position to address my problem. I told him the story, that the chain was trashed and that his team had just done the repair without so much as a phone call to me... He said James, don't worry about the chain, I'll put a new one on it. Also, I don't have $numbers$ for you just yet but come in tomorrow afternoon and we'll figure it out. The next afternoon I was ready for the fight. Were they going to try to charge me full price? Oh hell no! My bike was waiting when I got there. New derailleur, new chain, straight spokes... Perfect... So I asked "what's the damage"? "NO CHARGE! And we're sorry for your inconvenience." That was it. No long explanation, no here's what happened, no here's what we replaced, nothing! Just "we're sorry for your inconvenience." I felt like a total jerk... I even think I teared up a little. It wasn't these guys fault that my bike ate itself and It wasn't a new bike... under warranty... To make it even better, Jim was standing there listening and dealing with other stuff but never spoke to me (I recognized his voice). He let the guys handle it and didn't make it about him fixing this for the customer. Anyway, New Customer for Life!!! I've already had one friend take his bike there for service and I took a friend there to buy a new bike on Black Friday. I have my bike on craigslist and plan to buy a new one soon... you know where... Thank you guys!!! read more

Both times I have been here it has taken them awhile to acknowledge myself and other customers. I went back to purchase a tube and to have it replaced, it took about an hour and a half. The repair guy was busy helping other people, I can't blame him. The other 4 or five employees where helping two other people, they get caught up on the big sales and ignore everyone else. Once the repairman got unoccupied it took him about 5-10 minutes to fix my bike. They do fail to acknowledge customers as they walk in. Overall they are knowledgeable and could probably be more efficient. read more

The place was clean, wide selections of misc things for you bicycle. I was there to get new brakes for my mountain bike $10 including service/tax. The employees were attentive, kind, and helpful. No pressure to buy things. Parking lot was located near the door , so less hassle to walk your bike around. The store sign was large enough to see from the street, which is an A+. Richard helped me with the brakes and assist putting my bike on the car rack. Great Job. Prices are 50% cheaper then other local bicycle places. read more

Came in the store for the first time and no one care to greet me, not even a good morning. Walk the entire store and no one came up to me and ask me if I needed help. The prices are about the same as other bike shops. There are a few bike shops that I prefer to drive 20-30 min because they care about their customers. read more

I purchased a Trek 720 disc from Cyclery USA about a year ago. Had a problem with it breaking spokes (both front and rear). The guys at Cyclery USA were always very helpful, and replaced the spokes at no charge. They even contacted Trek, who replaced one of the wheels under warranty. However, I lost confidence in the original wheels, so after speaking the staff, I decided to upgrade to stronger set of wheels. I just picked them up, and Cyclery USA swapped them out (no charge for the labor), and gave me a decent discount to boot!!! Awesome bike shop!! I went in knowing nothing at all about biking. I have been training for triathlon tho and decided it was time to get off the spin bike and get the real deal. The guy that helped me (Richard, I think, super bad with names) was awesomely helpful! He even went as far as to take a ride around the neighborhood with me to show me how to shift gears and make sure I felt comfortable with the bike I'd picked. They give a nice discount on any accessories for 30 days after you purchase a bike and also give you tune up for free for a year. I was also sent with info on local places to ride. My boyfriend bought me a beach cruiser from here, and I love it. He also frequents the store often for accessories to go with both of our bikes. I bought a bike rack here for him for Christmas since I knew he wanted a high quality rack. We used the rack for the first time, and stopped by the store to make sure it was secure since we were going on a trip out of town. Fernando came out and taught him exactly how to use the rack, and put on some straps to stabilize the bikes. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Went in with a flat and they said the rim needed to be drilled for a different stem. First mechanic gave it to the 2nd mechanic, and I had the feeling something went wrong after 20 minutes because they were whispering and laughing while I waited. Got the bike back and now the rim was bent and wobbling. After riding it awhile, the rim cracked in the area they drilled it. Went to California Cyclery at 3747 Central ave in Riverside and they had a new rim, gave me a deal and got it done in 5 minutes. read more
