Menifee Bicycles is exactly that kind of shop. The entire staff is incredible. They know the best places to ride, they're friendly, and they're genuinely helpful with any question you bring in. They also have an awesome inventory. Tons of cruisers (lots of SE options), brands like Cult and FBC, and a big selection of Trek, Giant, and more. I contacted them today because the Trek website showed a perfect option for my daughter in stock. I called and spoke with Samantha, who confirmed they had it -- it just wasn't built yet. Without hesitation, she offered to have it assembled right away so my daughter could come in and test ride it with no pressure or obligation. We went to the shop, she tried the bike, and she couldn't be happier. The whole experience showed exactly why local shops matter. You can feel the pride and care they put into everything. And as someone who started racing BMX in the late 80s, the highlight of my visit might have been spotting a mint Haro Group 1 RS2 sitting on the floor. Original number plate, grips, everything. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because after a long drive there, I asked if there was a customer restroom. The gentleman said, "You aren't going to sue me are you?" which I don't feel is relevant. Maybe they have been sued before? I don't know what that was about. I told him no worries, I don't need to use the restroom and he didn't say anything after that. The bike is great and was just what we were looking for. It was a great purchase.

When I have wanted to repair or do maintenance in the past, it would involve a 60+ minute round trip drive to Riverside or Redlands to drop off the bike, then repeat to pick it up. Discovering and visiting 951 Bikes was both promising and a blessing. My end of day visit to the shop was to get some cleats for some new shoes. The price was reasonable, not Amazon low, but I prefer to pay a few more to support a local shop. The store was stocked with a lot of accessories in front and parts behind the counter. I had to wait to get help, there were two guys working on bikes in the back and another helping customers with checkout. Everyone I met was friendly, and I left hopeful that I found a place to satisfy my local bike mechanic needs.

Her talents are in customer service, attentiveness, and being very knowledgeable about their bikes. I initially felt the husband was a little grumpy, but I realized he is just a no nonsense type of person who is honest, hard working, and takes pride in what he does. They were both honest and sincere people. I didn't feel they were just trying to sell me something. Mrs White works the front (which makes sense) she's a people person, and Mr. White does the repairs and gives you honest feedback. They each have their talents and use them to perfection. I could have purchased my bike from another bike shop, but I felt it was essential to support our local bike shop especially during these times. My husband went to this bike shop today. The owner was very unwelcoming and did not want to take…read morethe time to do the work. He claimed he was four weeks out and could not work on his bike. He wasn't doing much was his comment he offered to spray some lubricant in the shifters to fix a derailer issue. However, my husband declined service and went to 951 where the service was night and day. 951 was very welcoming and addressed the problem right away. Not sure what's up with these people, but I've seen similar reviews. very different from the experience we had a few years ago. Will not ever go back. We will be using 951 moving forward.
