Love this place! I came here the first time in high school and can't stop going back. My husband and I love their subs and burgers, plus their sides are always amazing. The waitresses are very friendly. They have a ton of spots memorabilia on the walls and have TVs with it on too. Nobody goes there much anymore because it is too crowded....no seriously if you go between 1130-100PM good luck finding a table. You might get lucky with a seat at the bar. Best burgers in town, and friendly service. Lots of TV with sports going, mainly NASCAR though. Place is mostly locals and wanna be locals, which is refreshing in this town of boorish spoiled brat students. If you have a craving for juicy burger and fries, this is the place. They also have long neck beers, which seeing working men on their lunch break slamming a few at lunch makes me jealous I don't have a more relaxed job. We stopped here on the way back from Carter Smith Mountain and I was so pleasantly surprised. It was a typical diner with pretty standard American menu but everything was really cheap and everything that we ordered was excellent! We got the pulled pork, a BLT a burger and a hot dog and plate of fries and no one had any complaints. read more

Tasty, greasy, affordable burgers. If you're looking for healthy food - look somewhere else! However, if your mind is set on a burger, it's hard to go wrong with Riverside. I prefer their burgers and atmosphere ten times more than the fancier burger restaurants downtown. It's not fancy, but it's a local gem! The meal my husband and I had at Riverside Lunch the other day was nothing short of life-changing. Seriously - this was the best burger I've ever had. (They recommended the double, and I was glad I got it.) We also got the carrot cake, and it was absolutely delicious. The place is really charming too - total local dive complete with a bunch of older guys watching the game and classy styrofoam plates to catch the grease. It's fantastic.
