Wow, these guys saved the day today. I was driving home to Austin from Houston, had a blow out caused by scrap metal on the left hand shoulder of I-10... As I was exiting the freeway, I had a second flat occur picking up a screw on the right shoulder!! Two tire flats within the span of :5 minutes!! I couldn't believe my luck - I knew I could fix one tire but didn't have two spares and thought for sure I was going to be stranded in Sealy till late in the evening. As I was exiting, I saw a sign for Riverside Tire. Drove about 5mph until I made it into their shop. The front desk staff was awesome and said they were closing in a few minutes but thought they'd be able to help me get back on the road. Literally in a few minutes, I had two brand new tires that matched the originals installed and balanced. Their tire team was like Nascar... I probably would have waited longer at McDonald's on a Big Mac than the time it took them to fix my tires. What I thought was going to be a huge nightmare turned out to be a minor inconvenience. Today, my husband and I saw a stranded young female on the side of the road, so we stopped to assist. She was waiting for AAA, but was told she would have to wait at least two hours before someone could arrive. My husband looked under her car and saw that it was safe to drive for a short distance. We led her to Riverside, where they got her car on a rack within minutes, repaired/secured the loose undercar shield, and sent her on her way back to college. Picture this: Car zooming along I-10 West carrying family with two little kids and a trunk crammed with Tetris-like precision full of Christmas presents, two scooters, dirty clothes from a week at the beach, two guitars, a cooler, and several boxes of Chinese take-out. Suddenly, a big THWUMP is heard, followed by the smell of burning rubber and massive road noise. Car is maneuvered carefully into the ditch and over to the feeder road. Parents disembowel the trunk to get the spare out, install spare, repack the trunk, and limp down the feeder at the recommended 50 mph. Then, less than a mile down the road, a huge billboard rises like beacon - Riverside Tire Center. (Insert shaft of light emanating from the clouds and choir music here.) The nice folks at Riverside immediately come out to assess the situation, note tire is hosed (no doubt there), sell us a new one at a fair price, install in less than 10 minutes, re-stow the spare, and check us out - all in a jiffy. We repack the trunk for a THIRD time, and we are back on the road in no time. No fuss, no muss. In the waiting area they even had free lollipops for the cranky kids and free wifi for the cranky parents. Plus clean bathrooms. Thank you Riverside Tire Center. We couldn't have had a blowout at a more auspicious location. As for I-10, this is now the second blowout I've had on you - you suck. read more

These guys saved my car after it sprang an oil leak on the highway. They quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and cleaned all the oil off my car. Apparently, the previous oil change place had crushed my oil filter in an unsuccessful attempt to remove it. The guys at Riverside went on the record to help me compel the other place to cover the cost of the new oil change and filter. Great guys. I highly recommend them. read more

I had car trouble while pulling my new pop up camper near Sealy. Luckily, there was room at the Stephen F. Austin State Park and the Park Rangers had a good recommendation for a nearby mechanic so I hobbled in the next morning. The owner, Bill, drove me back to my campsite and within a couple of hours came back to pick me because I was fixed up (hub bearing replacement) and ready to go. I wish I could rate Riverside Tire 10 stars --that's how incredible they are. To make a long story short, yesterday two colleagues and I went to Houston for the day for a work trip. On our drive back to Austin, my car had a tire blowout somewhere near Sealy, requiring us to stay overnight. Riverside Tire had been recommended to us by a local, and thus at 7AM this morning as the shop was opening, I was calling them. Bradley picked up the call and proceeded to go above and beyond in helping us resolve the situation. Although my specific tire was not in stock, Bradley tracked one down -and traveled 50 miles to get it for me. Meanwhile, Eusabio drove out to the hotel we were staying at to check all of my tires -and then removed the back two which both needed replacing. By the time he returned to the shop, Bradley had returned from his trek with the replacement tires in hand, saving us several hours of waiting. Eusabio returned to the hotel with the new tires and installed them in no time. By 10:30am, the three of us working gals were back on the road, Austin-bound. A sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to Bradley, Eusabio, and everyone else behind the scenes who pulled off this amazing feat. Pulled in after engine started to heat up very quickly hoping to get some help--they could not be bothered since it was 30 minutes to closing. The cashier or whatever she was did not try to find out anything other than calling in the back to someone who said no. I was ready to pay through the nose but I guess they did not need the business. As I was pulling out I could see her snicker to some old man hanging around as she looked my way. Screw you Riverside Tire. I made it back to Houston without you. read more

Twice my teenage daughter has had a flat, and both times the family and crew at Riverside promptly and without hesitation - even though it was close to closing time - fixed it. They patched it both times, hitting me the bill of $17 over that of a new tire. I've been plenty of places that pressured me to buy a new tire when I knew it wasn't necessary. Absolutely the worst experience I've had here! I've used them to get tires in which they were very helpful. But this last experience has been a complete waste of my time and money. I dropped my car off with them first thing in the morning hoping to at least find out what was wrong with it. But calling them all throughout the day didn't even motivate them to touch my car til 30 mins before closing in which they called me to tell me NO results. They have forced me to pay MORE money for my rental and giving me way less time to make arrangements due to my work schedule! They have really made things difficult for me today! Took a bolt through my tire on I10 and pulled in on a Saturday morning. Courteous staff at every turn, very fast service though every bay was full, and the new tire was $30 cheaper (installed) than the exact same tire bought 6 months ago at [Big National Chain]. Clean waiting area and restrooms. I live 75 minutes away, but will stop there for new tires and vehicle service during my frequent trips from Houston to San Antonio. read more
