Hey, I think i'm pretty happy with this joint. So the service was at 0830 on a Sunday. 5 staff members and a full restaurant of patrons. The waitstaff was on-it with quick service and attentive detail (brought crayons and stuff for the kiddo). The food was UNBELIEVABLY FAST, but everything seemed to be cooked right. The only suggestion I would have is that for Benedict(s), the english muffin be toasted before other items are layered on top. Cost here is a bit over-the-top and probably about 40% higher than a standard breakfast place. Was 52.00 for four plus a kiddo. Atmosphere was loud. Proportions were good, not like they threw potatoes at the plate for volume. Overall, I'd go back for the well-done hash and cooked-right eggs. Great job for the short-order fan. read more

Avoid this place if you don't want to spend an hour+ on breakfast. Went here on a Sunday morning around 9:30am. Walking in, we thought a packed (though fairly small) dining area and a wait for a table was a good sign. We only waited a few minutes before a table opened up. The server came over and didn't greet us as she set the table, just asked what we wanted for a drink. We ordered coffee and in an effort to friendly up to her, my fiancé asked her what she thought the best thing on the menu was. "I don't eat breakfast" was her response. Okay...at least say what your customers like then. She came back with our drinks and we ordered what we wanted. About 50 minutes later, hungry and wanting to get on with our day, we started getting antsy and irritated, and our server had only come back once to fill our coffee (after we asked for it). Finally after having been there for an hour our food arrived. How was it? Fine. My eggs were cooked wrong but I didn't want to wait for them to be remade. Bust Saturday morning breakfast. Waited about 3-4 minutes at the door as 2 or 3 waitresses looked our way and continued about their business until we were finally told to seat our selves. Order raisin toast to tide my daughter over as the restaurant was busy, the waitress needed to be asked to bring the raisin toast, she forgot. Portions were large, pancakes and waffles were a little on the well-done side for our liking. Seems like everything was an upcharge....we ordered a Belgian waffle with a side of bacon, and an Order of raisin toast, in order of banana walnut french toast with a side of bacon and home fries and one of their specials for $9.99. This place is more for locals and regulars. They mainly have the various breakfast dishes, but nothing too special. Seems like they usually have a decent crowd and slower service, probably a result of bring a routine stop for those nearby that aren't in a hurry. Wouldn't be an issue but the food really isn't that great. The bacon was thin and crumbly, the ham tasted like deli meat and you're stuck with home fries as a side (sometimes crispy other times less cooked). It is what it is, I don't think anyone who already eats here would ever be dissuaded, but I wouldn't recommend this as a place to seek out or commute to. read more

Went in around 10 a.m. sat down within 5 minutes had a delicious BLT. My kids each ordered an omelette with home fries bacon and sausage they said it was amazing and it looked amazing. Staff was friendly. Prices were reasonable. Can't wait to go back! read more

Meh. Had to order drinks twice and get up and ask someone else for them since our waitress never came back. There was a hair on the outside of my coffee cup but I figured it could happen and continued to drink it but then there were two other beard looking hairs in my coffee. After eating my eggs there was a huge hair on the plate. Completely grossed out. Waitress never came back or asked how our food was. The Benedict eggs were fried instead of poached, weird. Terrible service. Low quality food. Several parties placed orders and received food after we had. Had to remind the server we were still waiting. When our food finally dropped, egg whites were still runny and potatoes were very stiff. Gave it a shot, but will have to go back to Belly Buster. Just horrible service! The food is ok but the experience was terrible. Isolated incident? NO, I was stupid enough to go a few of times because others wanted to go there. The place had only one other table with customers and the waitress was nowhere to be found. No coffee refills ($1.99 for 6oz). The food wasn't cooked to order. Don't believe me? Roll the dice and take your chances and you'll be back here giving this place 1 star. If you're in the are, there are much better options. Belly Busters (same price, same food and MUCH, MUCH better service). Also consider Stellio's (slightly higher price, much better food and GREAT SERVICE). My oh my oh my, where to begin. The Riverview Restaurant, known by locals simply as "The Bomb dot nom" is a classically-styled breakfast eatery specializing in only the finest eggs benedict, pancakes, and world famous iced coffee. I came here this morning for the third time and it was simply phenomenal. I got the strawberry pancakes with a side of corned beef hash and my girlfriend got the sausage benedict. Both arrived promptly with wonderful service, shortly after our large iced coffees (which are to die for). The Riverview Restaurant is an inexpensive, consistent, and familiar diner with all the comfort and warmth you would expect from a small town restaurant. read more

I went here with a small group of six guys for lunch some ordered breakfast some ordered burgers medium . Everything was terrible the burgers were cooked frozen patties that were cooked so long they were hard as a shoe hiel eggs were supposed to be an order of three each were only 2 and cold , waitstaff was no were to be found , no offers of refills quick to bring the check but 15 minutes for her to come and get it , finally one of the guys got up and was attempting to bring her the c card and she snapped at him to just leave it on the counter , this place used to be nice I would bring my wife here on the weekend but not and more ! Can't find an online menu for this place, so I stopped by and ordered off the breakfast menu. Quick service and average portions. BUT the next visit there for breakfast I ordered the same thing without asking for the menu. I got the same plate and same portions....but not the same price......upcharge? I went there for lunch today and and it was not very good. I ordered an ice tea and got an ice coffee. I told this to waitress and she replied that it was ice tea not ice coffee. I asked her to get me another and i ended up with iced coffee again. Did they put ice coffee in the iced tea pitcher maybe??? I did not feel like going thru another spiel of it is ice coffee and my food soon arrived. The tuna club was ok, but the bread was toasted so it was almost burnt. The fries were frozen string fries and served luke warm. After the waitress brought my meh food I did not see here again until I was done and she brought the check to me. read more

I've been going to the Riverview since I was a kid when I lived about a minute away. To this day it is my favorite breakfast place there is. Some people complain that the food is greasy but to me it's just a great kind of comfort good. Everything is always cooked perfect and tastes delicious. Plus the service is always quick which is nice. Not to mention they have a drive-thru so you can get an actual restaurant breakfast on the go! Horrible service and ownership does not care. I guess they get enough business that they don't care about bad reviews or losing customers. We would go to Riverview on the occasional Sunday for several years. A few weeks ago we went into the restaurant and as we were seated two men abruptly got up from their table, uttered some obscenities, and left. At the time we figured it was them. Fast forward three weeks and we can only assume they had a legitimate gripe. Our party of five get seated OK and the waitress comes over and takes our order. Has that thousand yard stare like she would really rather be somewhere else. She does ask if we want jelly with our breakfast and we say yes. The food comes out, the home fries are cold on everyones' order and the french toast portion of one order is missing. We got four little pats of jelly for our table. I guess there is a nationwide strawberry shortage of something. We assume that that the french toast will come shortly. We just about finish our meal, still no french toast. Waitress has disappeared. Our son goes and looks for the french toast at the kitchen and later goes back a second time where it is sitting on the counter. He brings it over to the table. Waitress finally does come back and asks if we want more coffee. Returns with one of those teapots with coffee and puts it on the table. Obviously doesn't want to have to bother coming back again. Waitress then starts taking away everyones' plates without asking if we were done. Some of us weren't. A few minutes later she comes back with the check and asks how everything was. We tell her it was very disappointing and outline the issues. The waitress then goes on a monologue about how the cook is supposed to tell her when the food comes out and how it's not her fault and that she thought that we were all done. Correct answers - "I'm sorry about the french toast and taking your food away without asking. They did offer to recook our son's meal. the waitress then asked if we would like to speak to the manager. A good five minutes later a young woman comes over, after obviously getting a story from the waitress. We asked if she was the manager and she said that she was "acting as the manager today." We again outlined our complaints, while our waitress conveniently stood behind her "cleaning" the adjacent table. We asked if there was an owner on site an we knew that they often cooked. The manager said yes but he couldn't come out of the kitchen. At the end the manger did take $10.00 off the bill which brings this up to a two star review. Went for breakfast with a friend. The server Danielle was one of the best servers I have ever had. I got a great vibe as soon as we walked into door. She came rite up to us and asked where we wanted to sit and was immediately there with menus and asking if we wanted coffee. Just a great person all around and if she was unsure of something she would go find out immediately. The food was great, the chef Emile (I'm sorry if I didn't spell your name correct) did an awesome job and everything was so good. I will definitely go back and hope to have Danielle there to be our waitress again. read more
