The selection of food was wonderful, this was a little more high class than I was thinking! I was wearing shorts and a polo shirt. They really didn't make a deal l of it. It is definitely casual dress. For the lunch but I would've dressed better but I've known being a Sunday. First time I've ever tried this place but I definitely highly recommend it, chef, Carlos went above and beyond and so did his staff. I have been looking for a brunch buffet place in San Angelo. It seems that Riverview is the only place in town. I went to try it out and it has a decent setting. Mimosa is also available. It has egg and waffle to order and the basic breakfast items. It gets filled out pretty quickly after it opens. The price is also reasonable. read more

Closed. No indication online or on the door but there was no one there. We were there promptly at 11 and waiting for 10 minutes (with about 6 other people, not with us) and no one ever opened the door. Looking in the window it was obvious no one was in there. Really disappointed! And frustrated that there was zero indication online and in person that it would be closed. Not a good first impression. read more

This is probably the worst buffet I've ever been to. It makes frozen meals look like fine dining. For example, the carrots were swimming in a dark gray, unappetizing looking broth. The squash tasted old, past its use-by date. The desserts were drier than the desert. We were a party of four, and two of us had stomach aches later than day that lasted for hours. The views were excellent, and the staff did ask if everything was all right. We did not complain about the taste of the food or lack of choices, so that's our fault. However, you can see the same view from other places without paying for barely edible food. The rate for the daily buffet on the website is $11.95. However, we were charged $18.95 for the Sunday buffet. Do yourself a favor, and avoid this buffet. Some of the others in San Angelo are so much better - and less expensive. read more

We have been here for brunch twice. It is worth the money, especially because it includes two mimosas per person. The only reason I can't give the place 5 stars is because the food isn't THAT good. The food is good, but it is on a buffet, so we run into standard steam-table issues (i.e. bottom of the biscuits are hard, some of the veggies are soggy, the fish is cold in the center, etc.). Also, the fruit and salad selections are atrocious. I prefer to eat a "clean" plate before gorging on the entrees and waffles, but that wasn't even possible with that raggedy cantaloupe and iceberg lettuce. The desserts are obviously from a box, which is also disappointing. Still, the service is quick, attentive, and professional; I believe the place deserves 4 stars. We'll be back. Bonus: There's a blues guy playing live tenor saxophone, and the view of the river is beautiful! read more

We placed a pickup order on thanksgiving. There were about 40-50 in this tiny lobby standing waiting to get into a locked door. They had a few seats but most 95% were forced to stand and some of the other older people couldn't even sit down. I was there to pick up an order but no customer service people were in the lobby. We had to place an order somewhere else because they wouldn't answer the phone. read more

What a wonderful surprise. When we visit San Angelo, we have our usual places to eat. I just googled brunch places and found this. The weather was beautiful so the view was spectacular. It was obvious this was a place that families gather for special events. Even though we were walkins without a reservation, we were treated like royalty. I found that it had been reviewed under this name, so I have moved my review to the correct place. "The actual name appears to be Riverview Restaurant. One of the worst restaurant meals ever. My boyfriend's mother took us here for Easter Sunday Brunch 2016. A dress-up affair, and I'm sure she wanted it to be special.. and it should have been special. The view was great. The musical accompaniment was pleasant. The supposed menu sounded good. But they ran out of things. Lots of things. Like champagne. So, no mimosas. And no apologies. The salad bowl was basically down to scraps. The "prime rib" was not. The shrimp in the pasta dish were tiny wet ones, which looked as if they might have been canned. The only redeeming item was dessert, and it was not outstanding. Really awful, and I felt bad for my boyfriend's mother. By the way, he reminded me that the restaurant also ran out of plates. This is the first time I have been to this place and I will be coming back. The atmosphere is sophisticated, but not stuffy. I tried many of the items on the buffet and I was pleased with all of it. The catfish was fresh (not "fishy" at all). The meatloaf was pretty good (have not eaten meatloaf in 20 years because I don't like it). The salad was a garden style mix with romain/spinach. The server was pretty good and it seemed that there was always someone asking if we needed anything. I will be taking my wife here some time, but I doubt I will bring the kids. The views are AMAZING, probably the best in all of San Angelo. Every time I've eaten here, I'm always satisfied with the taste of the food as well as the healthiness of it. You don't feel heavy after eating here, and can really tell it's really good quality food. Chef Carlos has always been kind and accommodating to us. I wish I could eat here all the time! read more

Last week, my friend and I had dinner at River Terrace. The dinner was again excellent. I had the fillet, which was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. My friend had the salmon which was also great. The Cajun beef tips appetizer was a bit small, but the meat was tender and the flavors were wonderful. The baklava and flour-less chocolate cake were also great! In addition, our waitress was very attentive and personable. Let me start off by saying this restaurant is earning their only star from me because I enjoyed the food a little. It was good, but nothing I would ooh and ahh over. Let's get down to the customer service part. My husband and I were scouting restaurants for a small intimate dinner with 3 other people following our elopement. We found this place online, and decided to try out brunch and talk to the manager, Carlos, about the possibility of setting up a specialized menu for the occasion. When we arrived, nobody seated us, yet there was no seat yourself sign. Eventually someone said "sit wherever" and so we did. We took a seat near the window to see what the view was like. Yes, we could see the river, but the window was covered in cobwebs on the outside, which took away from its charm. Carlos did bring us an example of a set menu and told us we could change things around as we pleased and that they would be able to accommodate our requests. Great right? So while eating, we looked over the menu, made some adjustments, and waited for Carlos to return. He was busy at the omelette station, so we waited. Our server came to get our check, and we decided that when she got back, we would approach Carlos at the omelette station and talk to him. After about 20 minutes, the server returned with our card. We went to Carlos with our ideas, he told us to just lay the paper on the bar and he would call. He looked busy so we nodded, left the paper with our contact info attached, and left. We gave it a week, and had not heard from him. My husband called, Carlos was not there. He called again later, and Carlos said he had not had a chance to look it over yet, but was sure we could arrange something really special. He said he would call back that week. No call. So, my husband called again. This went on and on. We were needing a firm reservation time so we could plan our elopement ceremony time around it, and needed to know how much it was going to cost. We could not get these details. Every time we tried contacting Carlos, he was either unavailable or had not looked at specifics yet. We gave up on him and got a reservation at Cork and Pig. The night before the wedding, Carlos called and left a message to say they could host our dinner. Needless to say, we did not eat there that night. read more

My first time to eat at this restaurant was for Father's Day buffet. When we arrived, there wasn't a hostess at the podium to take us to our table. The chef preparing the omelets pointed to a table and said sit there. The view we had was of the roof. Other tables near the Windows had a view of the Concho River. We waited at our table for about 10 minutes before someone came to take our drink orders. They were still taking the lids off the food on the buffet at 11:30 am for a Champagne Brunch. It seemed as if they were not open yet, but we had a reservation for 11:30 and other guests were already there. There was no explanation given of the buffet which did not flow as a normal buffet. The salad bar was on a table on the far wall as well as the desserts. Some entrees were on the buffet line and some on the separate omelet station. The veggies were first on the buffet so you had to pick those before you picked your entree. When we were finished eating, no one brought our check even though we sat there several minutes after the table was cleared. We finally asked where we pay and they said at the podium. Again the podium was unattended and we had to wait to pay. While we were paying, the guy rang up 2 other tables, put the tickets in nice folders and had the server take them to the table. I gave a 3 star rating only because the food was very good. Everything was well seasoned and the homemade ice cream was out of this world. The green beans were woody as if they were old. However, the service was on par with Golden Corral. The service should be much better for the price per person. One more thing, don't advertise a champagne brunch if you don't offer champagne. I did not see anyone with champagne nor was it offered. There was a sign with drink specials, but the waitress did not mention them when she took our drink orders. read more
