Visiting aIndy for the holiday weekend and my family love this Mexican restaurant. So we gave it a try. We started with a pitcher of margaritas and one Michelada. Our server is José. My husband had the taquito plate with rice and beans. My sister had Chicken fajita plate with rice and beans. My daughter had a tilapia fish taco plate that she said the fish was very dry! I had enchiladas Cancun, which I was kinda disappointed because I only had 2 shrimp. One in each corn tortilla :-( but the seasoning and flavors were good.. All of the dishes were pretty good seasoned and fresh. Except for the fish tacos my daughter had. She said the fish was dried out and was bland. Jose came to the rescue and, suggested if she wanted to try another item on the menu and she ordered a chimichanga and it was good! Overall the restaurant is clean, (1 star), fast service (2 stars), Friendly / knowledgeable staff (3 stars) and, freshness of of served (4 stars). And I gave four stars because the manager did come by to check on us to see how our dining experience was. I guess I'm California spoiled! Still in search of that Cali Mexican food flavor. read more

We were excited to try this because it gave us a vibe of the Disney restaurant San Angel Inn. The salsa was good, but my tacos didn't have a lot of flavor. They were salty. The chips were stale, and we asked for fresh ones, but even those were bad. We won't go again. read more

I went here for dinner to celebrate my friends mother's birthday. Overall, the ambiance was nice and the service was Ok, but the quality of food was below the mark and not that good. The chips and salsa were the highlight of the meal to be honest with you. I ordered the enchilada and taco combo, which was edible, but not that great. The margaritas were Ok from what my friends told me, but other people thought it wasn't so good. Needless to say that this Mexican restaurant was not my personal favorite, but it was OK for what it was and the staff was friendly and professional. If I were to come back here again, it would be for cocktails and nothing else. This is definitely a family restaurant for kids to enjoy, but not a restaurant for couples to enjoy on a date night. This was my first time being at the new location since they moved from downtown Fishers. The food is 5 stars delicious. We were seated very quickly and our drink orders were taken right away. The chips+salsa were amazing and our food came out extremely fast. My one disappointment is that our waitress did not do a good job checking up on us. We had the ask the man who dropped off our food for silverware, napkins, and a drink refill. He honestly was a better waitress than her. She may have just had too many tables, it was hard to tell. However we did feel like we were neglected by our waitress throughout the evening. She showed up once asking about refill--long overdue and we informed her someone else was already getting it. Then the last time we ever saw her was at the very end for boxes/bill. I like that you checkout at the front counter and don't have to deal with waiting for the waitress to bring back the card. Everything appeared super super clean! It was such a positive experience from an atmosphere and food stand point. I'm sure usually their wait staff is on top of it as everything else was amazing. My friend and I checked this place out on a Friday night. There was a slight wait to be seated but it wasn't bad. The staff were all very friendly. We started with margaritas. They were almost $7 but tasted strong with quite a bit of liquor. I ordered the nachos. They had ground beef and chicken. They were ok. The queso was good but things got soggy quick. The meat had a ton of liquid and was clearly precooked. This is definitely a step up from Taco Bell but not a lot. I'll probably give it another shot but may check out elsewhere first. Absolutely horrible last night! We arrived and we were sat right next to a band they had playing. Typically, I love music and bands at restaurants however, the music was so unbearably loud?! All the customers were complaining. You couldn't speak to anyone at your table, let alone your server. We had to type out our order on our phone for our server to be able to understand what we wanted?! I left with a pounding migraine. The server then also proceeded to tell me that they could not make the piña colada margarita on the rocks? Which I told her I found odd because they did it the last time we were there? She responded with it was a new bartender and they refused?! The poor experience continued as our server forgot to put my meal in so other peoples meals came out and they were completely done eating before I even got mine?! No compensation was offered for her mistake Either, no meal was taken off, no discount, nothing. I've worked in the service industry for many years before switching over to healthcare and 100% that should've been done. She even fully admitted to us that she did not put the order in. She never once came came to our table to refill drinks. We had to continuously try to find her just to get a drink refill or salsa refill. Then to make matters even worse if that's possible, a fight broke out at the table right next to us to which the staff did not make these people leave after?! They continued to yell and cuss very loudly at each other & drinks were also thrown. The staff simply cleaned up the drinks and allowed these people to stay, which is beyond me?! at this point we no longer felt safe as well as many other tables around us. We all got boxes and left. This used to be our go-to Mexican restaurant, however, quality in drinks has gone away. Shared a pitcher of Margarita and there was zero taste, zero tequila in it. This wasn't the first time I heard of this happening there, I just had completely forgotten. Sadly we probably won't return, plenty of other great local places (Samano's, Verde, Agave to name a few) to spend your $$. Be careful and check your receipt before paying. This increased my bill, tip, and taxes on my bill. We there today for lunch. The server did not hand over the receipt which he had in his hand but just told us the total. He handed us the machine. I selected the tip and printed the receipt. Looked over the receipt the server added another meal we did not order. This increased the bill along with the tip. I asked to get refund on the tip and the meal. Which they did the meal, but they said they could not for the extra tip. Nor did they refund the extra tax. We somewhat regulars about every two week, but the service does seem like it is going down hill. There are many other Mexican restaurants in town might start trying them out. read more

Stopped here for lunch the other day, and I was really impressed by the decor and ascetic design. It looks like a restaurant you'd find in an amusement park (in a good way, with great attention to detail). The lunch portions for the price were absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the Steak fajitas (delicious!) and a side Chalupa...couldn't even eat the Chalupa because of all the food that came with the fajitas! Speaking of the Chalupa, it was very hard to eat...or even see where to grab it to pick up due to toppings overload. If you're thinking it's going to be a easy hand-held version like Taco Bell, you won't like their interpretation. Big beers were a nice choice as well. However they only get 4 stars because the lunchtime service from our server was hit or miss. He would disappear for 20 mins at a time. 1st time visitor at this place, located on the northside in fishers just off of 69. Was pretty quite in but you'll get that on a Sunday sometimes. Used to be in the old cheese burger in paradise which is interesting to see it convert with a Mexican flair. The alsservice is great! They start you off with your typical chips and salsa, and there is a decent selection of Mexican and domestic beers. Thankfully you can pick from a good deal of margaritas as well! The menu is very extensive probably about 7 pages. I chose the Mexican pizza which was delicious! It had steak peppers cheese in between 2 tortillas and I loved it, this also came with a good guacamole salad that was the perfect paring! Good evening my fellow Yelpers, Tonight was a sad night. Tonight was an eventful night. Tonight was a night worth fighting for. Unfortunately, I had the most miserable experience at this establishment. To begin, we were greeted by young woman with a sticker on her forehead. Not very professional, if you ask me. In addition, she sat us with a large attitude, and was annoyed we walked in shortly before closing. After coming off of a 4.5 hour road trip, all we wanted was quality Mexican food. Yes, we could have timed our trip better. However, if it was such an inconvenience, why did they seat us? Preposterous. We then met our waiter, who had quite the chip on her shoulder. The attitude. The nerve. The impatience. These were all very unsettling. As she rushed our orders and claimed "the kitchen is closed", she wouldn't serve a bottled cerveza. Stomping away, she delivered our orders to the so called "closed kitchen". Within minutes we received our beverages. We could have sworn they spit in them. While it was not visible, we believe it sat in the bottom of the glasses. A while later, approximately two minutes before the listed closing time, our dishes were placed on the table. It was blatantly obvious there was no care or concern for the presentation and construction of the food. The refried beans were soupy and forced the burrito to be eaten with cutlery. The quesadilla looked like a taco and didn't have any cheese. The enchiladas "weren't enchiladas at all". Overall, the meal was not bussing. The servers began speaking in their native languages. The dirty looks were shot from across the room. We could have sworn there were targets on our backs. In order rush us in finishing our meals, they began turning out all the lights. The music went silent. The staff began shuffling. The plates were taken away as soon as we put our forks down. The young man in the Justin Bieber sweatshirt rang us up without asking. They even attempted to lock us in. With only one escape route, we quickly fled the grounds of the restaurant with anger engrained in our hearts. We will never return to this establishment. BEST MEXICAN FOOD WE'VE HAD SINCE MOVING TO INDY AREA !!! We are from the Chicagoland area, so needless to say, the options and variety we grew up with eating ethnic foods are various so when we say it's the best we've had, we mean it (seriously) ! It was a late Wednesday night, I had a craving for steak tacos, but our "usual" place closed at 9 PM and my fiancé works until then so I went to Yelp! to try to find somewhere else that would be open later and every restaurant I clicked on also closed at 9 PM, so I gave up and closed the App and tried to think of another option for a late night dinner... As I was searching I accidentally hit the back button a few too many times and ended up back searching for "Mexican Restaurants" and that's when I saw Riviera Maya so I clicked and called to see how late they were open (Yelp! can be misleading at times especially due to COVID last year) Riviera Maya was open until 10 PM so we placed our order ASAP once my fiancé was off work and I'm so glad we did.. I am always skeptical ordering so late from restaurants, especially new ones we haven't tried yet ! We each ordered the Tacos Carne Asada, chips & salsa, guacamole, a side of rice (which, this would be my ONLY complaint, the rice is very bland) with a side of sour cream... 10/10, our meals tasted fresh, were cooked to perfection and it's again the best Mexican food we have tried since moving to the area and highly recommend to any family, friends, etc. read more

My wife and I stopped in for lunch. We had two taco salads and soft drinks. The chips for salsa seemed stale and were on small pieces as if there were from the bottom of a container. The taco salads were covered in queso to the point it was like soup and we could taste nothing else. They removed the taco salads from our bill, however, we still had to pay $3.49 for each drink. I ordered a small guacamole to go with the chips..this guac only had avocado and lime juice in it...never have I had guacamole with two ingredients. The service was very quick, but no I know why, no love in the cooking AT ALL!! For dinner I ordered the house special..one of each... tamale, enchilada, chalupa, and fried chilli Relleno. The chalupa was just a hard shell taco, that's not what a chalupa is. The enchilada tasted like the tortilla wasn't even cooked layered with red sauce that wasn't warmed filled with hamburger meat that wasn't seasoned. The tamale was bland the only item that tasted good was the chilli Relleno. The rice and beans were also bland. I have no clue why it was busy this was the worst Mexican restaurant I have been too. We have gone to Riviera Maya since it was on 116th St in Fishers and have enjoyed MANY meals there! It has been our go-to Mexican favorite! Unfortunately, the last few times have been so disappointing. My husband's enchiladas were made with the insides on top and kind of tasteless. My dinner was with grilled beef that tasted like a lot of added grilled flavoring and not tender. My margarita was very sweet and warm this time and poured over ice tasting like it came directly from a bottle mix. Unprofessional and rude servers and manager. Dine here once a month or sometimes twice a month and order same dishes every time because my family is vegetarian. But each time I was charged different amount and additional charge of veggies. Ordered vegetarian dish and was charged for each veggies separately. Question here is what does vegetarian dish comes with. DO NOT QUESTION the server or manager because you will be insulted and humiliated in front of other dinners. I order Vegetarian Chimichanga for me and every time the size of the chimichanga is different and charged extra for veggies. Chips and Salsa served complimentary is always half fried and uncooked. Because it is complimentary no one can complain. The server who sings loudly behaves like a boss but is just the server and has lot of attitude problem. He makes fun of dinners with other servers. I was really excited to visit this restaurant and was finally able to do so. I checked out their website before going as I often do to familiarize myself. One of the nice things about this location is they describe various materials used in the construction of this building and from where said materials were sourced. Most of them came from central Indiana buildings that were being demolished. It's possible this is the norm for this company but I thought that was interesting and a cool factor. We ate here on a Friday night and were seated immediately. Chips and salsa arrived within 30 seconds of being seated which is always a good sign at a Mexican restaurant. I ordered the Burrito Gigante and my wife ordered a taco salad with chicken. We struggled to finish our respective meals. Our compliments to the chef. Excellent flavor, presentation, and portions. There was more chicken in my burrito than I think I'd ever had and my wife exclaimed she thought there was more chicken than lettuce in her salad. Very unusual but props to this establishment for not skimping on ingredients/portion sizes. We both ordered H20 so I cannot comment on drink options but I'm sure our next visit will be accompanied by various adult beverages. Looking forward to going back and taking in the architecture of the building a little more. Highly recommend for a nice meal on the town or even for a family gathering. Just found out this place is related to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, Mi Pueblo in Franklin Indiana. And just like Mi Pueb, Riviera Maya never disappoints. My coworkers and I are regulars here at lunchtime. We all love the salsa which is fresh and zippy. The chips are served warm and are tasty. Service is very fast, especially at lunch which is good otherwise we would fill up on chips and salsa. Food is excellent and servings are huge. The lunch menu is extensive and includes more variety than the average Mexican restaurant. Lunch specials are listed on the board and are a bargain. The vegetarian combos are very flavorful, I think I have tried them all. Even though I practically know the menu by heart I always have a hard time making a decision. Cheese enchiladas, veggie burrito, taco salad.......I can't even name a favorite. Rice and beans are very tasty and the queso is so thick, melty and smooth you could drink it. The decor of the restaurant was on point - I felt like I was transported out of Indiana and somewhere in Mexico! The food was also good; we had a selection from the vegetarian meal combos, all of which were standard choices amongst Mexican restaurants. The service, however, was quite poor. Our server was nowhere to be seen and never stopped by the table to check in on us. We visited on a weekday evening, so the restaurant was not particularly busy. We had to constantly flag down a passing staff member who would assist us; when we did flag down our server, he wouldn't end up getting what we asked for! While we were in the middle of our meal, our server gave us the check without checking if we wanted to order anything else or wanted dessert. We felt rushed out of the restaurant and ended our special day we were celebrating on a negative note. The busboys were more helpful than the two servers who passed us by, thankfully. read more

I use to love this restaurant but ever since they have moved to their new location the service is HORRIBLE I visited on a Friday evening and was told a 15 minute wait time. Which I was perfectly content with due to the time of day and the location. After waiting for over 20 minutes, the (extremely rude) hostess walked up to our party and said "have you been seated yet" I responded no and she said "well, whatever we told you it's an additional 25 minutes because our kitchen is backed up so it is up to you" I asked for clarification as to if we could order drinks and she said "probably not". She then said "yeah actually we're just not even going to seat you" and proceeded to walk away. I understand being busy especially on a Friday in a new location but rude mannerisms from a staff is a quick way to lose loyal customers. read more

Excellent variety. The lunch menu has huevos con chorizo, which is tasty and served with fluffy flour tortillas. Our most recent trip we came for dinner and sampled carne asada tacos. It comes with refried beans rather than black beans. Chicken taquitos were huge and filled with shredded chicken, topped with cheese. Plenty of chips and salsa, plus lots of hot sauce.
