We have used Riviera plumbing a couple times. Here are my honest feedbacks: What I like about them: They are responsive and knowledgeable, and they are willing to take jobs that some plumbers are not willing do. They show up on time and easy to get hold of. What I don't like them: Over priced and I felt I was robbed. They charged us over $500 for a job that was done less than half hour. Sink fixture installation was $250 an hour. None of these was emergency call and didn't require opening a wall. I also wish they would lay a towel down to prevent sinks or tubs from getting dirty while they work. I wouldn't mind the price if they were white glove service. If you are looking into hire them, I will suggest discuss the price upfront. I understand sometimes it's hard to get an estimate without actually looking into the situation but that was not our case. read more

Quality of the work: Excellent. Value of the work: Dubious. This was a replacement of a pressure regulator. The price of a good regulator seems to run $125 to $250. I am not sure what a reasonable markup is. So by my reckoning, the labor was between $500 to $600. Now, all of that is fine if this was for quick turn service. It was pretty sloppy on their part for not explaining this to start off with when I called them. If the labor charge would have been less for scheduling it out a bit, that would have been nice. And the invoice was also, in my opinion rather sloppy as well. I expect invoices to be broken down to line items. So I have no idea what exactly I was being charged for. And when the invoice showed up in my inbox from Cuyler Kittle for $800, I dismissed this as a Scam Email. I am just glad I did not delete it on the spot. So, they do perform excellent work, but the business is run a bit sloppy, so make sure you have all of your ducks in a row with them before you OK the work. read more

Perhaps I've been a die-hard Yelper for so many years because I love, Love, LOVE supporting all things local; including the search for a plumber. I had been seeking a solution to speed up my hot water access in the far reaches of my home (most importantly master bathroom and kitchen). After years of wasting gallons of indispensable water and electric in drought-ridden California every time I hopped in the shower or washed dishes, I knew I had to get to the bottom of it. Not to mention that it was driving me nuts hanging out on my "honey to do" list... I reached out on NextDoor to see if other neighbors had the same issue. Sure enough, I wasn't alone! I found Riviera Plumbing on various sites with stellar reviews/recommendations and submitted a complimentary service request via their website to assess my situation. Within two hours I received a call from a plumber with availability to come by the next day! Meanwhile, I also had two other local plumbers in the running (one no-showed, while the other's estimate was too high). Cuyler arrived at my house on time the following day, looked at my hot water heater, discussed a few solutions with me, and promised me an estimate within 48 hours. Fast forward a week... Cuyler behind the scenes had to reach out to the odd manufacturer instant water heater company (Rheem), purchase the specific compatible parts and pump (which were on backorder due to national supply chain issues), and was at my home for installation day. What I particularly appreciated about Cuyler is that he is the son of a plumber and several family members with stellar skills and experience in the trade. At the same time, he has a great personality, is proficient, honest, and most of all, a perfectionist. He taught me all about how the system functions and worked diligently to confirm that everything was working smoothly--including that the pump doesn't overheat with use. Cuyler was cautious given Covid by wearing a mask and shoe covers inside my home without needing to mention it. He kept his work area neat and put back the items under my master bedroom sink exactly how they were before his arrival. All of these details made it easy to write this 5-star review for Cuyler and Riviera Plumbing. When looking for a plumber, I know who I will use and refer to others. read more

We had a leak and called Riveria plumbing. After coming out once he said he needed to order new parts. After that he kept scheduling time to come out but made excuses and never came. Eventually he just stopped responding all together. The worst part is we have a hole in our wall after the first visit. read more

I recently had a disaster with my toilet and although I have an unusual toilet Cuyler was able to find one that replaced my old one and install it. I had a very strange plumbing problem in a condo I just bought. Cuyler and Raphael worked diligently in trouble shooting what the problem was. With Cuyler's diligence and persistence I knew that he'd get to the bottom of it- and he did. It was a real headscratcher but he figured it out. They went above and beyond what my last plumber did utilizing modern clean tools. They also were very presentable- wore booties and masks- used pads anywhere they put their equipment. Absolutely phenomenal service! It turns out I have lots of opinions on toilets and wanted to replace one in my new house. Cuyler responded almost instantly to my quote request (and to all other emails too) and even helped me figure out what size toilet I needed to buy. Riviera Plumbing was quick to respond to my request! Cuyler is efficient and provided excellent customer service. We couldn't turn off the toilet water so he installed a new nipple in the wall and a new angle stop within just a few minutes. He arrived on time, turned off the house water before he even walked in, and brought everything he needed into the house so he didn't have to go in and out. When you hire Riviera plumbing the owner himself is the one that will arrive on the service call. That means you are going to get excellent, on time service, from a guy who knows his stuff. On top of all that, he is going to give you a fair price, and is going to really care that the level of service you receive is top notch. I am often away on business in L.A., and I really do not trust any repair men around my 82 year old mother if I am not there. My mother and I agreed that If she ever needs plumbing work while I am out of town, she is 100% comfortable with Culyer coming to do the work, even if I am not there. I used Riviera Plumbing to replace a functioning, but very old, water heater and received outstanding service from the owner, Cuyler Kittle, and his very capable assistant, Raphael. Cuyler was quick to respond to my messages, arrived on time as promised, did an inspection the day before to go over the project with me and explain all the details and the advantages of the brand of water heater he used (Bradford-White), and then performed the job itself quickly and efficiently, leaving the area clean and neat. Furthermore, they came back the following day to try and fix blockage I had in a 50' drain pipe that siphoned rain water from my gutters out to the street. They worked their rears off trying to get the pipe clear, and after 3 hours of hard labor finally achieved success. The total cost for these two jobs was quite reasonable. Another plus is that they are friendly and have a fine sense of humor as they work. I HIGHLY recommend Cuyler and Riviera Plumbing and will be happily using them for all my future plumbing needs. read more
