I had brunch here for the first time with my girlfriend. It was highly recommended. I ordered the vegetarian omelette with home fries and coffee. The coffee was delicious and the omelette was average. I was expecting an actual omelette but it came as a scramble entree. It was okay. Other than that the service was decent. The bathroom was clean and needless to say I returned the same day and had a solo dinner date at the bar. I ordered a shrimp fajita which was smaller than what I expected but it was sizzling and hot and delicious. I had red blend wine to complement my meal. I plan to return to try their dessert and brunch.

Me and my boyfriend had our first date night since having our baby here and it was amazing!! Everything tasted sooo good! We were seated immediately and I ordered the calamari as soon as I sat down. It was out in about 5 mins and matched with the sauce perfectly. There a lack of breading in the middle of the rings which isn't my favorite but it was really good still. I also ordered the Lomo de Buey which is steak, spinach, and potatoes. for $16?!?!? omg give me 3 of them! My boyfriend ordered the guac, chicken tacos and a quesadilla because they are true to the name, these are small plates! This is a great place to come if you are doing more talking than eating, if you are actually hungry be careful because you might order the whole menu LOL

Well, l had lunch at Riviera today last time was a huge disappointment. I went back to read it and l wouldn't change a word. I knew that l would come back at some point because l gave such glowing reviews before the last one a year ago. Went today unexpectedly and everything was one point. Drink, the meal of Chicken and Mashed Potatoes. Owner stopped by and chatted just like she usually does. All is forgiven see you next time.

Don't let looks decieve you. I say on visiting this place for too long. I didnt expect much but I was served heaven. Waiters were polite and took plates to free up my table. The music was super familiar. There is also a walking path near here. It's amazing.

This was one of the best cheap brunches I've been to in a long time. I love tapas style and the food did not disappoint. I think we tried almost everything on the menu. $45 for unlimited food and mimosas/ sangria is a steal. It's best to make a reservation since the bar area fills up quick. Bacon wrapped dates-10/10 Brussel sprouts - 7/10 Chicken empanadas - 9/10 Beef empanadas - 5/10 Huevos de pollo - 8/10 Mussels - 6/10 Fried green tomatoes - 7/10 Red sangria - 4/10 Mango mimosa - 10/10 Passion fruit mimosa - 7/10 I'll be back for sure!

After coming back from spending two weeks in Spain, I was craving some authentic tapas. This place was a pretty good substitute. Everything we ate was delicious...we had the crab and risotto balls, patatas bravas, pan con tomate, and we had a steak dish (not pictured). Everything was delicious! I topped it off with a delicious glass of Tempranillo and my girlfriend had the churros dessert. The service was a little slow...but there was a huge birthday party happening there at the same time so I'll give them a pass this time around. We can't wait to come back and try some more dishes!

Food was tasty. Well priced, atmosphere was pleasant, service was nice and you can tell their menu is made with love. It's a nice place to grab a drink, I'll most definitely be back for happy hour.

I really love this little hideout. Intimate space and the mood lighting and absolutely beautiful chandelier in the main dining room rounds out the soft vibes. For some reason, every time I dine here I only eat apps but I will branch out one day. Now the food is really good but the real star is the bartender who is somehow always there when I visit. She knows how to make a good drink!! I love the whiskey sours and my go-to apps are in the pictures. The parking is really limited so if you live nearby, it's conveniently on the walking trail. Pro tip: come to their happy hour on Wednesdays... it's from 4pm - 8pm.

This was second time going to Riviera Tapas and both times did not disappoint! It is the perfect spot for after work drinks. The happy hour has amazing prices and has a lot more menu options than most other places in the area. Service was also fast even as the restaurant became progressively busier, which is a plus. I especially enjoyed the patatas bravas. They were perfectly crispy and the sauce had great depth of flavor! The empanadas were also cooked well and the drinks were refreshing.

Thankfully, the runner who seated us, (a kind and helpful gentlemen who got a separate tip) noticed and got Daniel to visit our table. My gin martini was excellent and the water was cold. We ordered several plates, which arrived rather quickly. The homemade hummus with the carrots and pickled onions was fantastic. We'd take creamy and delicious hummus like that any day. The deviled eggs were wonderful and came with an extra kick thanks to the jalapeno. Gnocchi with parmesan, carrots, and asparagus was creamy, comforting, and filling. The lamb over hummus, with their rich homemade gravy, rivaled any amazing lamb dish I had anywhere. The portions were phenomenal. I have been to places that give half as much with the same prices. The chef and kitchen staff are incredible. We'll definitely return to try new dishes but we hope the service is much improved.

I think they adjusted their lighting a little bit -- it was quite dim, and from the outside it looked pitch black. My friend made a reservation for 10 (only 6 showed), but it was fine and I feel like I always sit at the exact same table haha. The staff were very kind and asked if the first to arrive wanted to wait for others, and yes... yes we did. Once everyone arrived we dove right in and everyone enjoyed everything. We had every type of sangria and some of the highlighted foods were the mejillones, platanos, empanadas, pancakes -- on wait, let me speak on the pancakes for a second. A few times when I previously came they weren't sweet potato. I forget what the reason was, but while they and the syrup were still fantastic, I really missed the sweet potato element. But that's back now, and all is right with the world YAY! The eggs benedicts, patatas bravas, datiles, French toast, and huevos rancheros were highlights too. I think it's new, but they have a note that indicates there will be a charge for excess leftover food. I wonder when they added that?? We did an excellent job of eating literally everything, and everyone was satisfied at the end. The staff did an excellent job of checking in on us, gave us plenty of time for last call, and were so diligent. Mind you it wasn't crowded... but listen, it needs to be. I believe even the owner came by asking how everything was, and wished us well on our way out. It's been around a long time... if you haven't been to La Malinche yet, do yourself a favor and go. They have happy hour on weekdays, but the bottomless brunch... it's $41/pp now. Higher than ever, but still the best deal around.

After striking out at two other spots, we landed at Barcelona Wine Bar, and honestly, it ended up being a pretty good save. As expected on a Thursday night, there was a wait for indoor seating, so we did what any reasonable adults would do: grabbed a drink at the bar and waited it out. I started with a Sauvignon Blanc while my friend ordered an espresso martini made with tequila, which was surprisingly delicious. Since we'd already survived happy hour elsewhere and had plans to continue the evening, we responsibly switched to water during dinner. Hydration is self-care, ladies and gentlemen. For food, we ordered the garlic shrimp, crispy mushrooms, chicken thigh, patatas bravas, and branzino. The stars of the evening were definitely the garlic shrimp and the patatas bravas. The chicken thigh was also flavorful and well-prepared. The crispy mushrooms, however, didn't quite do it for us. The flavor itself was good, but there was so much breading that we felt like we were eating the concept of a mushroom rather than an actual mushroom. Now for the plot twist. Everything came out fairly quickly except for the branzino. After waiting about 30 minutes, our server kindly informed us that it would be another 30 minutes before the fish arrived. At that point, we collectively decided that while we enjoy seafood, we do not enjoy it enough to wait an hour for it. So, we politely waved the white flag and called it a night. The service throughout the evening was genuinely good. The hostess was friendly, our server was attentive and communicative, and the bartender was cool despite operating under what appeared to be combat-level crowd conditions. It was packed, so ordering required decisiveness and a strong sense of purpose. The restaurant itself isn't huge, but it's a great size with a lively atmosphere and plenty of outdoor seating--which I'm sure is wonderful during the approximately three weeks of the year when DC weather is actually pleasant. Would I return? Absolutely. I'd just skip the mushrooms, order strategically, and maybe avoid arriving after spending several hours participating in Happy Hour Olympics beforehand. As I always say: I'm not difficult to please. I just have standards.

The dark warm mood lighting, the corrugated wall, the intimate seating, and of course the small share plates makes for the sexy experience tapas is suppose to be! It is typical of Spanish flavors, heavily relying on high-end cured meats and cheeses, and classics such as croquetas. There is something very special that goes into tapas because its suppose to satisfy you based on good taste over quantity. Large shrimp in a generous skillet of olive oil and slow cooked garlic slices and a iberico mac and cheese are some examples of how they elevate classics we are familiar with. We really liked that they learned into garlic and spice. We found dried Aji Caballero in our meal, great attention to source country. They have a very robust and generous drinks menu. Loved watching others not dining alone and embracing that share quality of the menu design. Perhaps it is not the best tapas I had, I would have liked to see a balance with lighter citrus flavors but maybe that was an ordering issue. Started off with the "Taste of Spain" which included Pan con tomate, Aged manchego, Jamón Ibérico de bellota, and Boquerones con naranja. Since I couldn't eat the latter two, the server said they could double the first two, which was so appreciated. For my first course, I chose the Escalivada (fire-roasted eggplant, red pepper, labne yogurt, fresh herbs, olive oil, served with focaccia) and Croquetas de setas (creamy mushroom croquettes with truffle aioli). The Escalivada was tasty, but more on the tangy side; the bread was more crostini-like than focaccia. The Croquetas were so good: creamy, savory, umami inside and crunchy outside. Next, I got the Zanahorias (spiced baby carrots, sweet and sour reduction, orange honey yogurt, mojo verde, Marcona almonds) and Patatas bravas (crispy potatoes, salsa brava, pimentón, garlic aioli). When I tell you those carrots had me dreaming about them later, I'm not kidding- all of the different flavor combos paired with the perfectly cooked carrots were amazing. The Patatas bravas was pretty classic- crispy potatoes with creamy aioli and tangy tomato sauce. Finally, for dessert, I had the Tarta de naranja (orange olive oil cake, citrus-honey yogurt), and my friend had the Tarta vasca de chocolate (Basque chocolate cheesecake, macerated strawberries, chantilly cream). Both were tasty, but the Tarta de naranja was so good: perfectly dense cake, refreshing citrus, and great contrast with the yogurt. For my drink, I got the Forget-Me-Not refrescante (butterfly pea flower, thyme, honey, lime, ginger beer). Very interesting drink, not sure I'd order again but it was good. Service was great, super willing to accommodate my vegetarian dietary restrictions. Ambiance is really nice, very modern and elegant. I did not like the patatas... sauce was good but the potato itself had none of its own seasoning and was tough. Yes crispy but not pillowy inside. The octopus was delicious and super tender. Would come back for seafood paella and charcuterie.
