    Crooked lines

After consulting numerous concrete contractors for our new pool decking we hired Robert. His sales pitch was impeccable and he seemed extremely confident and knowledgeable about poolside hardscaping. As the project progressed we started noticing issues with Robert and his communication. He is arrogant and lacks all ability to listen. He repeatedly told my husband ( who he insisted his name was Joe - it's not ) that he would not chose our color..... um.... Never asked him to. According to his guys , he also called them the wrong name. ANY time we noticed something wrong in the project he blamed us. More importantly is the SLOPPY shoddy job he left us. Instead of using new wood for the forms , to save a buck he uses recycled wood from previous projects. Didn't seem like a big deal until we noticed out new platers with crooked lines. We have gray concrete splatter ALL OVER our stucco. When we failed to get it off by a pressure washer we called Robert. His response was " we missed that" followed by "you should have cleaned that up". Ugh.... What ? And then we noticed we had wooden forms left stuck in the planters and door frames. The icing on the cake is the cracks. Upon completion of the project Robert instructed us to water "10 times a day". We did. After about 3 weeks we started noticing cracks - EVER-WHERE. When we called Robert, the first thing he said was " I have cracks in my own backyard" , " it happened to me" . He then continued to say cracks were "normal" in new concrete. At this point he was extremely defensive and told us to call back in month. We did. By that time the cracks had become noticeably worse. We called Robert back..... again we heard about his own back yard cracks as though that would make us feel better. He offered NO solution, NO advice and told us it was OUR fault we had cracks because we didn't water it enough. At this point he claimed he instructed us to water "25" times a day. Further, he stated he had "driven by" and noticed our concrete was dry ?!? Yet, if this was true why wouldn't he have let us know?? Our back yard hardscaping looks great from a distance. If the cracks had not appeared we might have been willing to overlook the shoddy craftsmanship. The slop he left all over the walls, his overbearing arrogance and complete inability to communicate in a normal manner was too much. Midway through the project Robert insisted we had not paid one of the installment checks for $15k. He insisted his wife ( the book keeper ) " does not make mistakes ". We had paid and provided him a copy of the cashed check. What if we just handed over another check ...then what ? In summary, Robert SAYS he knows concrete, maybe he does? We wrote a giant check and are left with a mess and a lot of disappointment. We will be having another concrete contractor come to assess the cracking. At NO point did Robert offer to offer advice nor come assess his own craftsmanship or lack there of.

He was thorough, detailed, creative, conscientious and he truly listened - to my goals, likes/dislikes, and concerns. He provided me with recommendations across all 3 work areas that took into account the needs and special considerations for each location. He worked to ensure that we had a good strategy for redirecting water from the downspout to the patio and for redirecting water via a small 'channel' parallel to the driveway to allow for better water management. Being a highly visual person, I also found their showroom very helpful in choosing colors and patterns for the stamped concrete finish. In preparation and execution, Paul and the team took great care planning out each phase, protecting my new glass garage door and fixing a small nick on the house during the cement pour. He also personally adjusted the patio downspout, intentionally going out of his way with a plan to avoid creating unnecessary holes in the new siding. He also helped me anticipate and plan for mail and other deliveries during the time the walkway would be off-limits. He also worked well with my neighbor to plan for and to gain access to the garage each day in my absence. He regularly sent pictures and text updates. All of this because he is thorough, creative, conscientious, detailed and seems to sincerely care about his clients. The result: Exactly what I had hoped, delivered on time, with quality, care and with consideration for my schedule and the well-being of my home. Paul delivered to his word. I would hire Paul and the Alexander & Sons team again for any hardscaping in the future.

I got a couple of quotes through Yelp, but ultimately decided to go with Kay Green -- and I'm so glad I did. It took Young and his crew about a day and a half to complete the project. I live in a townhouse community, and they were very respectful of the shared space. They did an excellent job cleaning up the carport area they used for their equipment and materials. We ran into a few unexpected issues during the project, but Young was always upfront about what was happening and communicated his solutions clearly. His recommendations were thoughtful and turned out great. I would definitely use Kay Green again for any future landscaping projects and will happily recommend them to family and friends!

They ruined and broke numerous branches while admitting that these plants are very delicate. They rushed the job that should have been at least two hours and finished in one hour. I should have stopped them after the owner told me to go inside and they will let me know when they were done. You never tell someone that's paying you $500 dollars to take your time and do a professional job to go inside. I should have told him to get the F off of my property and hired someone else. I would have been better off hiring men from Home Depot. Totally unprofessional, rushed the job, ruined a couple of plants and didn't give a shit how it looked, even after I showed the owner the damaged plants and all the broken branches only to find more as the branches dried out in the weeks to come. He tells me the plants are delicate, but yet they didn't treat them that way. I will never hire this unprofessional company again and recommend that you don't hire them either. They have plenty of help to do a good job, but refuse to do so. This was a total rip off job to the tune of $500. I'm so sorry I hired this clown to do this job, every time I look at what they did it makes me sick and pissed that I didn't throw them off my property and paid them nothing. I've waited weeks to write this review, in hopes that the job would look better, but it doesn't. Thanks a lot, KAY GREEN LANDSCAPING FOR DOING A SHITTY JOB AND TELLING ME TO GO INSIDE. I should have kicked your ass to the curb and told you to take a hike.

When it comes to "Outstanding" I'd like to take it a step up to "A Company of Excellence! "... I'm forever grateful for the referral to use EF & S. My Driveway & my entry way to the backyard turned out absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Since I recently had pavers installed for my walkway, I didn't go with stamped concrete as I thought it would be too busy & wanted my new pavers to stand-out. Simplicity can still work out to be really pretty so I had 2-tone very-light "brushed-broom", with smooth border designs - The design & color choices bring out my new pavers perfectly! I had no doubt it would turn out really nice but never imagined a simple design would look so stunning! AND, the quality of work is far above what I expected! Joe (the owner), is a real perfectionist in his profession, and takes a lot of pride in his work. Really knows his stuff, and he came every day to make sure the job was going well. Before starting he met with me to discuss the process, and throughout the install he made sure I understood what they were doing, and made sure he had my approval before he finalized the border design. Any concerns or questions he never failed to respond - could not have asked for a nicer person to work with. His working crew is another story! They were Amazing! Not only hard workers, but meticulous in all aspects of their work. Before pouring the concrete they covered the garage door & other doors - the cleanup at the end of the day was impeccable! Just finished my job today & he starts another neighbors this week - we both are so lucky to have found him ... When it comes to quality plus & customer service, EFS has it all! (Very reasonable in his price, and your also getting A+++ quality & service - can't beat that!) Wow! I didn't think I could get so excited over a driveway (lol!!!) ... but I'm so happy with the results :-) PS: I'll post photos in a few days - there's still cones surrounding my driveway until it's completely dry ...

I waited a few days, and sent him a text saying I never received it. I figured maybe he had my wrong email? I never heard back. So a few days later, I called him, and he again said he was sorry, that he was really busy and he'd send it that night. Again, no estimate. Finally, a few days ago, I called him again. I said hey I'd really like to work with you, but I still don't have an estimate and I'm going to have to go with someone else if I don't hear from you. He again, assured me I'd have it THAT night. Shocker- no estimate. I checked my spam email also. So, sorry Joe, you lost my business, and future business, as I had some larger jobs I was considering at a later date.
