They smiled and immediately greeted me as a number of shoppers came in. The second time I showed up was a bit of a different atmosphere. Two guys (re: kids) running the place and kept to themselves. I started to chat with them and they finally opened up but it felt like pulling teeth to ask them about sale items or what the hot item was. Your mileage may vary as far as experience goes. I went back the second time cause I had a blast the first time. Now I will just timidly go back but if I see the guys working, I might just leave and go elsewhere. They do sales at the end of each sports season. That's my tip to you. Go cheer on your favorite team. Go Hawks/Go Cubbies!

The prices are a bit steep; one of my t-shirts was $35, which usually I would never consider spending that when it probably costs $5 to make. But whatev- sometimes you gotta splurge. You can definitely find some great stuff here, though. The employees are friendly and helpful, but they do tend to follow you around the store, so if you're thinking of stuffing that $35 t-shirt in your waistband, good luck. While I appreciate their efforts to deter shoplifters, it makes for an awkward shopping experience for the honest folk.

Got to register and it came up as the original price. Had to get a manager "Josh" involved and he offered $10 off because he could not lower the price and admittingly made a mistake on the sticker. They even made accusations that someone in the back had already spoken to us about the "wrong tag" price. In order to cover for their mistake by someone in the shoe dept. In my experience as a loyal customer in other stores, More than often said store will acknowledge their mistake and honor the stickered price in order to maintain a good relationship with their loyal customers. Needless to say we walked out and they lost a sale and possibly a customer going forth. I at least will NOT be patronizing the Naperville store again for my needs.

I have 2 separate orders, 2 different order numbers, purchased different days and 45 days to return the shoes. She says she can't "find" my order so she can't return them. She made a snide comment about how paying the extra $35 wouldn't be an issue for her. Must be nice to make bank working at finish line. I stood in the store for 45 minutes on hold with customer service only for them to just call her. She told them she has a limited system and can't see my order so the only thing I can do is come back at 2 when he manager gets in (after she already told me she was the manager and there's nothing else she can do). I'll make sure to call after 2pm to let her manager know how rude and unprofessional she was (long dark hair, piercings in her lip - I think her name was Celina). Not only that, but I asked about this sweatshirt (before all the shoe stuff happened) and she told me there's no other piece for it (mind you, there were multiple). I showed her the tag where it says it's a 2 piece outfit and told her it's selling as a 2 piece outfit online for $25. She basically said oh well and walked away. If you're a good employee, wouldn't that be something you check into? What a joke. Update: I went back and the manager, Ashton, was able to return the shoes no problem - looked up my order number (which above employee refused to do - she would only use my email and claimed no other way would work) and BAM, done. Situation rectified; however, I did explain to him what happened earlier and he didn't seem to care at all - no apologies for my frustration and time wasted. He alluded to the fact that he wasn't there so he doesn't know what happened but I was probably giving her the wrong order number (which 100% wasn't the case. I'm an avid shopper and I know my sh*t lol). I'm also a customer service rep so I know how people should be treated.

Gabriel worked with me and my spouse, for a second time, on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the Road Runner Sports, Naperville, Illinois store location. Gabriel greeted us immediately and was welcoming upon entering the store. Gabriel asked us if we were familiar with the store and its products, and advised us that he would be right back with us, as there were several customers ahead of us. We were able to view the well-organized shoe sections. Though the store was quite busy, Gabriel moved with ease about each customer. Gabriel returned to us and was attentive to our needs. He was well-informed about the different shoe brand collections. He explained both the in-store and online purchasing policies. He provided us with a variety of shoes and sizes to try on and choose from. He made sure we were satisfied and comfortable with our shoe choices. Despite a number of customers in the store, Gabriel enthusiastically assisted my husband and I in a timely matter. Gabriel explained in great detail the store's return and exchange policies, shipping and delivery of items not available in the store, VIP enrollment, and merchandise savings. Road Runner Sports is an amazing company and their team at the Naperville, IL location is just about as good as it can possibly get. All team members are genuinely into running and pretty much into all fun activities where finding the best fitting and performing shoes are a must, and they sure have all the knowledge, enthusiasm, and the most clear-cut customer service orientation to always deliver to their guests not only what they look for but also what they really need. I signed up to run a half marathon I knew I needed some new gear. I gave the road runner a call and spoke with Max, they were 25 miles away but I figured it would be worth it. Boy was I right. I've been suffering from jumpers knee for years and any sort of running was supported by a patella strap. Eric approached me and we got to work, I brought my strap along I knew I would need it. I ran barefoot on the treadmill we reviewed my stats and we picked out a pair of insoles and sneakers. I did not realize until I returned from a conference call that I never put the strap on. Eric assessed that my show size and type of shoe was wrong. The shoes were throwing my knee out of alignment. I'll get to the point, I've run 8 miles over the last two days NO knee strap no pain. I have 88 more days to decide if I like my setup, people say I fall in love quickly. Let's hope so. read more

This is a great place to get low pressure, high quality products and service! Amari was a friendly, courteous and knowledgeable staff member. He greeted me quickly and asked me and asked a few on what I needed. He was confident he could help me find a solution to my heal pain. Amari walked me through their analysis program and listened to my foot and back issues and addressed every question and concern. I have to tell you that their custom fitted insoles eased my foot pain and totally converted me from using the insoles I bought at a regular chain store. He was patient while I tried on several pairs and helped me select the perfect fitting shoe in the color (black) that I needed. On Saturday , March 3, 2018 I visited Roadrunner of Naperville. I experienced a warm and inviteing atmosphere in my encounter with a number of Associate's, But the one that helped with the actual fitting was Sam. He patiently listened than he brought out the shoes that fit my profile. Also, directing me to the item or items that was needed as well as explaining why they would be a great selection. Therefore, he made my first visit with Roadrunner Sports informative and pleasurable I look forward to return for all of my sport needs. The custom analyzation of my feet was thorough. Ideal for finding my specific pressure points and stride for making the best recommendation for my type of foot structure. Had the occasion to go to the Naperville store today in search of a new shoe that would help prevent continuous occurrence of shin splints. Met with Herman, a fit expert, and he was extremely knowledgeable and so courteous. He spent a lot of time with me measuring my foot and analyzing my walking/running style and gate. Using a 3D system,we then constructed a custom insert for my foot and went on to find the right shoe. Interestingly the shoe I was wearing - Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 - was one of the shoes selected as part of the try on process. However, he felt that a more cushioned ball area was needed. Ultimately, I selected the HOKA CLIFTON 6. Super cushioned and light shoe, and with the new inserts, a great fit! Thank you Herman for your time and expertise! read more

We have been going here for years! Great service, the employees are all pretty knowledgeable about running shoes and running issues such as shin splints, etc. We have the VIP membership + rewards which saves us a ton considering how expensive good shoes can be. The staff are able to kind of test your feet like your arch and walking gait and determine the best fit for you. Awesome! Way better than going to a department store or somethin like that . Sam helped us out this trip and was very conscientious about making sure I had the right fit! He also helped me to order the style and color I wanted and have it delivered to our house with ease! This store has a fresh approach to customer service, not only was I greeted within 10 steps, i received a handshake and intro to services They have a system to take a scan of your foot and record you on a treadmill. Mary took me thought the process and was great I run a marathon once or twice a year, and this is my new favorite spot since they have a guarantee on the shoes you buy. I really love this store. I've been coming here for several years, ever since I got plantar fasciitis and they have helped me out greatly. They evaluated how I walked and the arch of my foot and put me in the right shoe. I've been having issues trying to find the proper shoe this season but today I got lucky and I had a sales person named Malik help me. He ended up pointing out a Brooks shoe that I tried before and dismissed. He put me in a half size up and also a wide. It never occurred to me to do that. Christian from the Naperville store was amazing. I just arrived home with a new pair of running shoes, 2 insoles, hiking socks and an order for some apparel. Christian was patient as I chose running shoes and helped me understand the different manufacturer's approach to stability shoes. He was definitely interested in ensuring that I got what I needed, listened to my preferences and concerns and was even cost conscious for me. I am glad he said something about trail running as well. Hi, this was a first time visit at Road Runners for my Husband and he was treated like a king. Sam was the employee who assisted us and believe me that he went out of his way for everything that he could have done to make sure that we were fully comfortable and satisfied with what we were purchasing. He did not rush us at all and gave us all his time and attention. A complete customer satisfaction, which exactly the company is looking for from their employees and so are the customers. Dalton and Sam were OUTSTANDING!!.. Dalton greeted me with a smile and was so helpful...not pushy at all. Sam was wonderful as well!.. Sam answered any question I had and showed a genuine concern in my need for the right shoes. Sam took his time with me as well as giving me several options to try. This is the best high end store for people who are into running i travel 15 miles to get here and it is totally worth it. the people there are so kind and knowledgeable. i would like to give a huge shout out to Sam for helping me find the shoe that was meant for me. without him i probably would have spent more money on a shoe that would have given me an injury. whether you are a high school, collage, or marathon runner and you are a runner enthusiast. The fit expert Sam who assisted me could not have been more helpful. Gave me a lot of good information without being pushy or overwhelming and let me make my own decisions. Really happy with the overall experience - a lot of 1:1 attention without making it feel awkward or that you are being oversold on product. Overall strongly recommend the store. Have used their insoles for years with excellent results (decreased back pain etc.) and the shoes I buy here always fit so much better than what I have gotten anywhere else. My mother and I went to this road runner this past weekend and I appreciate the knowledge of the salesperson, Malik. He was extremely helpful in finding the perfect running shoe that satisfied my personal needs. He also helped me find socks which I greatly needed and one thing that stood out was that he wasn't too overtly pushy in any shape or form. My wife and l stopped in today to check them out by a recommendation by my son. We were very pleased by the service and expertise provided by AMARI. We are in our seventies and had sore feet and joints. I have never in my life had a shoe fitting like we had today. We walked out with new shoes and molded inserts with no aches or pains. I took my niece to RoadRunner Sports hoping she could find some comfortable work shoes. She is on her feet all day and has significant foot pain due to multiple surgeries. After her gait was analyzed, she worked with Sam who spent more than an hour finding the perfect shoe. He never showed impatience or frustration, just tried shoe after shoe until he succeeded. GREAT EXPERIENCE..if you are looking to get some good fitting shoes for running, walking or whatever I would highly recommend shopping there. You get all the size fit done in 1 shopping visit. they are open to all your suggestions about what you like & what you do not like & they work with you. They custom fit you for a custom orthotic..not your old hard plastic one but a soft insole support that can be interchanged to different shoes. It isn't trying for the DSW boutique experience, and they focus more on big sales to draw in customers. I don't think I've ever shopped at a Famous Footwear without there being some kind of sale going on. I was here during a Buy 1, Get 1 at 50% off sale. This included all of their shoes, even clearance. They have a lot of name brands (Steve Madden, Keds, Sperry, and Carlos Santana to name a few), but nothing that I'd call overpriced. The sandals were picked over, and the store overall feels a little disorganized including narrow aisles in the clearance section. If you don't mind a warehouse kind of feel, there are some great deals at Famous Footwear. In addition to my Keds, I found a darling pair of Carlos Santana flats in a platinum shade with laser cut-outs on the clearance rack. They were marked down to $20. My Keds and Carlos shoes cost a combined $43, which was still $5 less than what I paid for the single pair of Keds at DSW. Customer service is great. I noticed one girl bending over backwards for a customer who wanted to special order a pair and have them shipped to her home. The girl who rang me up was also very friendly and she walked around the store greeting customers and asking them if they needed any assistance. It's not the level of service I'm used to at discount retailers, and for my tastes it was a little bit too much, but it was still nice to see.

I'm not Imelda Marcos so I don't need 1,220 pairs of shoes. Skechers are so comfortable. I bought my first pair of AEs last Sunday and only time will tell if it was worth spending twice as much as compared to a pair of Rockports. But you are definitely paying for higher quality, along with the fact that they are made in the USA. So when you factor in US costs for manufacturing, the prices make sense. I am not a high roller and the AE employee did not make me feel out of place which is a plus. I recommend coming in with a list (refer to AE website) of the models you would like to try as they will not have every model in stock. All in all, it was good experience.
