This store is a runners dream! I've gone to other running stores in the past but this was the best experience that I've had. I'm recovering from an Achilles rupture so it's really important that I have the right support as I slowly get back into running. The guy that helped me was Patrick and his service was top notch. Not only did he get to know me as a customer but truly helped me decide what the right decision was for me and my safety in terms of recovery. There were a lot of shoes to choose from and he was there every step of the way ensuring that the choices were not overwhelming. Running shoes and equipment is definitely pricey these days but with the VIP membership you're able to get cash back which I haven't seen at other stores. I needed another pr of custom insoles and had a credit to use so we went to the Naperville, Il store on March 24, 2023 had the insoles made went to check out and the cashier would not take the credit was rude wouldn't even look at my gift card number so we had to take out the custom insoles that she put in our shoes and hand them back to her! She offered us nothing service was horrible, these two retail workers that were at this store that day should not be working with the public! No one else was in that store no other customers the whole 2 hrs we were there trying to use my credit, DO NOT bother using this store very poor customer service! Will never go back! I went in recently to look for new shoes and custom insoles due to knee pain when running. The staff was courteous and greeted me right away. I was asked some initial questions about my visit and promptly directed to the area where they examine you for custom orthotics. The process was very easy, less than 15 minutes or so, and the staff member was very informative of each step and it's purpose. Within 10 to 15 minutes, I had custom insoles that felt great, and they were used in each of the shoes I tried on until we found the right fit. Jonathan was assisting me in finding shoes, and really listened to my feedback on each pair of shoe to help me find the right fit. I was surprised to walk out with a pair of Nikes, (which never seemed to feel good on my feet, but the insoles made a huge difference;) and not Saucony or Brooks, which is what I had gone in to purchase. I was pleasantly surprised, and have felt great ever since. This definitely shows that Jonathan knew each shoe and fit and really listened to what I was saying in terms of my needs and knew exactly what to bring to me, even if I wouldn't have chosen it myself. I will definitely be going back when I need my next pair of shoes and custom insoles. If you've never had custom insoles before, definitely worth it! Your joints will thank you. read more

I was in town for an appointment and the sole of my shoe separated from the top! I saw a Road Runner shop and pulled into the parking lot. I had an idea what make and model of shoe I wanted to buy. I have large feet (13 - 2E), so finding a shoe I want in my size is a big deal. Gabriel welcomed me as soon as I entered the store. I told him exactly what I was looking for (Asics GT-2000 8) and he went in back to get the shoes. He quickly brought out my first choice along with several boxes of shoes from other brands, all in my size, just in case I didn't like the Asics shoe. The Asics shoe was perfect and I told him I would be wearing them out of the store. We went to the cash register and quickly settled up! He applied my VIP discount and pointed out that I had $22.43 in benefits that I could apply to the cost of my new shoes! So I had my favorite shoes in the right size WITH a sizeable discount! Ok I gave it a better rating a few years ago when I went into the store for the first time...Since then my view has some changes. Where is the ZERO Stars Button??? 1. When I went in there one time I was literally IGNORED by a sales person...like he walked right past me-the manager saw this and came up right up to me and apologized-the apology did not help the service I received 2. The employees know nothing about their merchandise...Matt a young salesperson in the store when I asked him if a particular shoe was new (I had not seen it before)...He was like yeah we just got it Mizuno just came out with it! I came home looked on their website as well as Zappos and found that it was an endangered shoe (It had been out about 2 years...not so new). Also I never see the same staff twice there are always new unknowledgeable people. 3. PUSHY!!! They are so pushy about their Shoe Dog and their insoles....My feet do not do well with insoles I have been running for a few years now and without any weight changes or pain I am going to stick with hat I know but every time I went in they basically want to throw you on the treadmill and shoves insoles in your face... Poor service, old merchandise, unknowledgeable staff...I am going to a local running store who actually cares about their customers!!! read more

I was in here to pick up a new pair of Nike Trail running sneakers, I knew what I wanted, but was unable to find it. The walls where the shoes are kept were quite bare, the selection seemed very small for a store that is geared towards just these items. The worst in my opinion was the lack of service. I came in, there were two salesmen hovering around one woman trying on shoes, there was a young blonde girl stalking a woman through the very poorly lit clothing section at the front of the store, and another sales associate who was determined to hit me with the door to the stock room as he made several trips through the door, with nothing in his hands, no-one to talk to, etc. I mosied around for about 10 minutes and decided I would wait to go to the Rack across the way if I wanted to be ignored - at least they have a reason. Overall, I found the store poorly lit, poorly stocked (for their square footage I would expect a lot more product), poorly serviced and the prices no great deal for all of the disadvantages. I was also confused by what seemed to be out of date signs regarding their discount club. read more

Not a fan... Way too expensive..... $70 for soles / inserts... Nope! Sales people are a tad on the pushy side... No thanks! They put me on auto bill, unbeknown to me, when I signed up for their VIP program. Charged me $25 12 months after my purchase. FAIL! They offer a free running analysis called "Shoe Dog". They video tape you running on a tread mill and run some other tests to help size you correctly. It's free, not worth the sales pressure and jacked up prices. I have lost faith in running shoe stores because of this place. I will be making future running shoe purchases from Zappos.com and Kohls again. Stay away! read more

I went with my wife to look at running shoes and Sam came up and asked her if he could help her. And he was able to fit her into a perfect pair of shoes. I was curious about the 3D computer to look at your feet. I did not want to spend a lot on a pair of shoes but I have a flat foot and slightly crooked ankle I was born with and I made it worse by running marathons. Sam was not pushy at all I asked him if I could get on the 3D machine to see my feet boy did that open my eyes he got 5 pairs of shoes for me and he suggested to try the Brooks the Beast 18 and they felt great on my ankle and my flat foot, he took time with not knowing if I was going to buy a pair of shoes and they were busy. The moral of the story is he showed he cared with out being pushy and we walked out with 2 pairs of shoes. I would recommend on taking to Sam!! read more
