Peak Pot Roast w mash potatoes and slaw

On a clear day the view of the mountains from this restaurant is beautiful. This is an open modern restaurant filled with music posters who have performed at the theater. If the weather is nice they have a huge outdoor patio . We had the Peak Pot Roast which was tasty and tender. The brown gravy was rich and had a nice flavor. The mash potatoes slaw were good. The roasted carrots were good sized delicious and not processed.

I loved this restaurant. It was a pleasant surprise as I didn't think the venue attached was going to have more than bar food, but thank goodness for this place. I cannot emphasize enough how friendly the staff are here. Our server was all smiles & even joked around with us, super nice young lady(Miranda I think) Our food was very tasty, app was boneless wings in garlic parm sauce, very good. Who had chicken kebobs on a menu, anywhere? So impressive! They were cooked perfectly over a bed of white rice&vegy, both my husband & I got this dish & though it was great. Everyone there was there to see the show, so we were all sitting outside to take in the spectacular views. Clean, friendly, good food, great show. WIN WIN

Located at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe, Roadies Restaurant and Bar sits in a prime location with two huge outdoor decks promising sensational views , where my partner, his aunt and I came for a late lunch. On a clear day, in fact, one can often see up to 50 miles away. Upon arrival, one has to go up a couple of flights of stairs to get to the restaurant. We requested a table outdoors to enjoy the sunshine, the breeze, and the panoramic view with a wait of 20 minutes. The 50's interior themed decor perfectly complimented the dishes on the menu featuring the classic American bar food variety fare. We decided on the Pub Style Pretzels, French Onion Soup, Shroom Burger, and side of fries. The food was prepared to perfection and was okay. The price was very competitive, and the service was a tad slow. We can recommend this place.

Disappointing wait time. Even more disappointing food. Table of 8. We waited 25 minutes for a table, which was a shorter wait than expected, but after being seated, we had to wait another 50 mins for the food to come out. I don't mind waiting for food that's worth waiting for, but this food was not it. Honestly, everything tasted like frozen food. None of the food we got came out hot. I got the loaded pierogies, which was severely underwhelming. I'm not sure what the reviews praising the pierogies were about. I also didn't enjoy the grilled portobello sandwich, as I felt the sandwich as a whole was off. All the ingredients seemed out of place, esp the fried goat cheese, which overwhelmed the burger. The waiter (Brendan) was very nice though and kept checking up on us with drinks and updating us on our order. He also fixed an overcharge mistake on my receipt.

July 31, 2023 - Monday Review # 441 - While Vacationing 5 days in four cities of Pennsylvania. My vacation visiting my three cousins and Aunt started on Thursday June 1 and ended on Sunday June 4th here for an early dinner at 3pm. It was a "Road Trip" about 45 minutes from Mountain Top but well worth the hungry drive for a late lunch and early dinner since my hotel breakfast was small and light. All my photos attached show the style and uniqueness of this spacious restaurant in great details! Starting with the hostess at the door, then our server Kate and the finale was The Chef who actually came out of the kitchen to say Hi and how was your meals was very friendly, attentive and super surprise while we were all eating our hot meals. Everyone's order came out one after the other and were prepared and plated with delicious and tasteful flavors! No one had any complaints and my burger was FANTASTIC with every bite, Especially their seasoned fries. Cheers to PA Beer as well to wash the burger down. Dessert? Unfortunately we were all FULL so no desserts were enjoyed for anyone. Next time we will!!! The views of the valley and even the Poconos can be seen throughout Roadies with many of my photos attached as proof. Downstairs is Penn's Peak a music concert hall with many artists who perform year round and even those local talented singers and bands as well. That's another review for Me next time my cousins invite Me back for some Rock & Roll Fun! Atmosphere - 5 + Food - 5 Service - 5 Setting -5+ Extras - 5+ come visit and see for yourself. This place is worth the drive for locals or 10 hours for Me! I was here in the Summer but my cousin Steve told Me that in the Fall its Awesome with Beer and Wine Tasting along with enjoying the outdoors with Fall Tree colors in view. Then there are firepits lit with tasty comfort foods. Cuddle Alerts with Music playing before and after concerts as well if downstairs. Many places inside Roadies to hang out especially with large open area near the bars. Roadies has Retro 60's 70's and 80's decor with outdoor deck areas to enjoy apps, cocktails while gazing at views of the hilltops and sweeping valleys. Dine before a concert or afterwards or just eat and view while listening to music throughout the property. They offer Dine-In, Delivery and Take- Out weather permitting. Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - CLOSED Thursday 4 - 9 PM Friday 12 - 9 PM Saturday 12- 9 PM Sunday 12 - 8 PM... Again must be a Jim Thorpe, PA thing? No late bars... Location: 325 Maury Rd. (Semi dirt too) Above Penn's Peak Concert Venue Jim Thorpe, PA Toll Free: 866-605- PEAK Tell Steve & Donna Hi for Me if you see them when dining at Roadies since they frequent this impressive and relaxing restaurant! Thanks Cousin's for the Sunday trip and dining experience here that I throughly enjoyed! :-) I've very happy and pleased they brought Me to Roadies, I look forward to coming back here again. This is how A Yelp Elite dines when out of town ! SpecialK - Karen Michigan :-)

The Host greeted us promptly, Ava our server was very friendly and took great care of us. Always had a beverage, never ran out. I had the O'shroom Burger (Brioche Bun loaded with sautéed mushrooms and onions, topped with garlic aioli) with sweet potato waffle fries. Great views of the mountains from the patio (was raining the day we went) Plenty of seating, just watch if there is a concert next door (Penn's Peak) so plan ahead. Follow me for more reviews and feel free to comment or message me, what you'd like to see more of.

The service and our appetizer were the saving grace of the meal. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The mozzarella appetizer was excellent. However, our meals (cheeseburger and veggie burger) came out burnt and were flavorless. We also thought it was ridiculous to charge $3 more for a veggie burger. Great views of the Poconos from here at least!

I don't understand the mixed reviews. The food was excellent, the service was great and the view was nice. No left overs after we were done. Definitely coming back.

Three of us ordered Thai chicken and my wife ordered the Bangkok bowl. The ingredients were fresh and carefully selected, as the dish had a slightly sweet curry sauce on it. The chicken thigh was on top of a bed of short grain brown rice appropietly cooked for the dish. Veggies such as broccoli and eggplant were around the edges. The Bangkok bowl was slightly different as the samosas had a fair amount of heat to them. The waiter recommended mixing them with the rice and fried chickpeas, which worked well. For dessert, the rose and cardamom coffee glee had little rose flavor. I asked and they said it was infused as well as the garnish on top, but I failed to taste it. Ditto for the chocolate orange ganache, in which I could not taste the orange flavor. No points lost, the deserts were still better than average, not too sweet. Service was very good, the waiter loved to inform us of what to expect. Also, it was a good place for four of us to sit at a table and enjoy a conversation.

The only downside is the wait times, very long to get sat, even for folks who did have reservations, and then a very long wait for the food, for getting the bill, etc. likely just a bit understaffed but something to be mindful of if you're in a rush. It was a bit pricier than I would have expected but not horrible. Overall a very nice spot for a date night.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

I ordered shrimp and scallop hibachi and it was incredibly oily and greasy, and the portion of shrimp and scallops was tiny. My friend also got hibachi and felt the same way. My salad was watery, and the clear mushroom soup tasted very strange. I couldn't take more than a bite of either the soup or the salad. For my entree, asked the server if I could please have extra vegetables instead of noodles, and she said that there was a "language barrier" in the kitchen, so she didn't want to ask that. I thought that was an odd comment for her to make. My daughter ordered some sushi rolls and liked them, and my husband and our friend also liked their sushi; so maybe sushi is a better choice here. The place is small and to echo other reviewers, tables are very crammed together and you will bump in to other people just by moving around. The place is cool looking on the inside and outside, definitely an interesting vibe, and they have a full bar. We did have to ask multiple times about the status of our beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). My drink was not good, it was a sake/lemon drop hybrid type of thing and it was insanely sweet - I couldn't finish it.

The first thing that we noticed that was interesting was the eerie music playing. At first I thought it wasn't bad, but the longer we stayed the creepier the restaurant became. More people left and the unlit street outside was pretty creepy as well. Drinks were decent but service was surprisingly slow and seemed a bit understaffed for a Saturday night which I thought was weird. Our appetizer was the melted mozzarella on focaccia with chimichurri and honey (too much of both). The bread was super soggy and cheese was half melted and wet as well. We decided to split the side of potatoes and the half chicken. Chicken was seasoned fine but the texture seemed almost raw. The potatoes presentation and taste were not great and there was not much flavor. Everything was wet in the worst way possible. We were in Jim Thorpe for the weekend and I booked this restaurant hoping for something special. It ended up being our least favorite meal unfortunately. But also our most expensive meal. We loved Notch Eight Craft and Marion Hose Bar.

The murder mystery itself was the highlight, the storyline was engaging, and the actors were clearly well-trained in improv and very kind. Murder Mystery: 8/10 The room was fairly standard, what you'd expect in an old-timey house. No TV or modern extras, but there were plenty of charging outlets, which was appreciated. Room: 7/10 The food during the stay was incredibly disappointing. Most of it felt like reheated microwave meals. Breakfast included eggs, bacon (very thin, broken pieces), cubed potatoes that were oddly watery, ham slices, stale danishes, cereal cups, and a parfait option that had run out by our 9am time slot. Dinner was similar in quality. I chose the cheese ravioli, but despite being second in line, it was cold. The same watery potatoes from breakfast were served again, along with green beans. The only highlight was the coffee, which was good. Food: 2/10 Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor. There are only 5-6 spots directly outside and a few more up the hill behind the carriage house. I was dropped off at check-in and informed staff that my boyfriend would be arriving late. I was assured there would be parking available and that staff would be present 24/7 to assist him. However, I woke up to a call from him saying he couldn't find parking. I went downstairs to get help, but no staff could be found. Not wanting to disturb other guests, I eventually gave up, and he had to park on the street in the neighborhood on top of the hill overnight. At breakfast, we were briefly told about additional parking behind the carriage house, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue from the night before, nor any attempt to make it right. Parking: 1/10 The staff overall seemed inexperienced and, at times, unprofessional. While I empathize with younger staff members, there were several uncomfortable moments--such as hearing an employee joke about "killing" another staff member over a small mistake, and staff walking away mid-conversation while we were trying to ask follow-up questions. Staff: 4/10 Overall, there were some enjoyable elements, especially the murder mystery, but the experience didn't quite match the price point.
