    Ordered a "matcha"??
    Kristy S.

First time here and we ordered food and drinks. I ordered a matcha latte and dirty chai. The matcha latte came out brown and we asked again if it's matcha and the lady said yeah that one's matcha. I went into my car and tasted the matcha latte and it tasted like a mocha. My boyfriend went back inside to let her know that it's not a matcha. I just don't understand how you can incorrectly make a matcha latte. She apologized and remade the matcha. It has a weird tasted syrup aftertaste. Anyways, we got a breakfast burrito with very little bacon and sausage for $12.99. It was mostly eggs and potatoes. I wouldn't recommend this place, honestly coming here ruined our morning.

Super convenient grab and go place that sells all sorts of locally sourced items. Parking is the same lot as the Joshua Tree visitor's center. Restrooms are outside. They carry snacks, coffee, tshirts, drinks, Gatorade, and kombucha. On the pricier side of things, but if you have the cash, worth the try.

The best spot for a quick grab and go meal before heading into Joshua Tree! Keep in mind there is no food, water, or wifi inside the park. Stopped by Roadrunner in the morning before starting our day our day. They have a variety of hot breakfast items like breakfast burritos and cold sandwiches you can pack in for lunch later in the park. There's also chia pudding and things of that sort. I wanted the turkey sandwich but didn't see any; a minute later a staff came by to refill the station and told me if there's anything you don't see, just ask and they can make more! I really appreciated that. There's also hot drinks/coffee. No lattes but I had black coffee and it's good for a quick fix. They open everyday 7:30am-5:00pm. Located right by the visitor center on the west entrance.

So happy I found this cafe! We were on our way to one of the hikes but not sure where to go so there's the visit center next to the cafe so we asked the lady working there to give us some ideas and she pointed out a couple on the map so that def helped! The cafe has warm breakfast food, snacks and coffee. They have a great variety of coffee. I got the salty caramel mocha and that was so good! I also got a breakfast sandwich and my bf got a breakfast burrito. Even though they were nice and warm, the breakfast burrito was too smashed and not enough texture. I got the s'mores brownie too which was okay. The service was helpful. We parked on the street.

The perfect quick stop for a caffeine break! My boyfriend and I stopped by before visiting the park, and I got the most yummy iced dirty chai. I would recommend for anyone who loves a strong herbal flavor in their tea! It was also great to see turkey sausage options for anyone who doesn't eat pork. The cashier was polite, and very welcoming. I also loved seeing that they supported local community with selling community beef jerky. Honestly, the perfect stop --- quick, clean, and yummy!

I appreciate the convenience of the grab and go concept as it's perfect for taking the food on a long trip or to the park. I also appreciate the organization of the store! Came for some breakfast items and they were a bit limited in terms of breakfast selections, but you can basically grab anything. I opted for an egg sandwich which looked so plain when I ordered it, however, it was surprisingly flavorful. My boyfriend grabbed an italian sandwich and he ate it up. Glad to have stopped by Roadrunner Grab+Go before heading back home.

Gluten free butternut squash salad and deviled eggs. Delicious!

Please don't order the dirty chai. For $6.49 the coffee is like going to the gas station. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else for coffee.

Don't say your chai is "house made" and then slap a brand name chai teabag in a cup with some half and half and call it good.

Ask the Community - Roadrunner Grab+Go

Is there seating inside or outside? And do they have organic food options?

    Which entrance is it near?

So close to the West Entrance on Park Blvd - literally right opposite the entrance to the Joshua Tree Visitor's center. Easy and delicious picnic fixings - so many options, including gluten free choices.

Do you have gluten free options?

Yes, they always have gluten free options. And their gluten free chocolate chip cookies are so delicious and addictive that I eat them, and I don't even eat gluten-free, normally!

ANYWAY. We have been here a couple of times - will usually stop by here when we're in Joshua Tree. On Saturdays, there is a Farmer's Market in the parking lot, so it gets pretty crowded. This last time we went, I got an iced strawberry matcha, and my partner got the chai iced tea. Both with almond milk. They still charge a surplus for non-dairy, which feels so 2022. But anyway. The drinks were delicious. We also got an almond croissant, which doesn't look like much, but it was AMAZING. And then the quiches. Oh, the quiches. I had such high hopes for these, especially since we were primed with refreshing drinks and a tasty pastry. These quiches are muffin-sized, perfect for a light meal or a heavier snack, and they look super cute. They will heat them up for you. When we went, they had bacon cheddar and spinach feta. We got one of each. My friends, these were so disappointing. First, no flavor. We asked for ketchup or hot sauce to give it a bit of acid, because it was basically egg all the way through. Solid wall of egg that tasted like the powdered egg you get at one of those corporate conference catered breakfasts. I had one tiny sliver of bacon in mine, and my partner was playing hide and seek with the spinach, and the spinach was winning. The crust itself was rubbery and chewy, not flaky like I would expect a quiche to be. I mean, it was palatable and not super expensive. I'm just not sure if you're selling food, you want it to just be "palatable". Last time, we got a savory veggie pie, and that was pretty good, so they DO have good savory foods. I think the quiches were just a huge miss this time. Bathroom is clean and single-stalled. Parking is easy in the lot, and on Farmer's Market days, I mean, c'mon, it's Joshua Tree, it's not like there isn't space on the streets too.

I complained previously about false advertisement by Aldi, which is only the tip of the ice-berg. It is also true that they have the worst check-out personnel imaginable. Rude is an understatement. Almost every time I check out, there is at least 1 overcharge. One of their repeat abnormalities: banana weights, and charges. There are 2 weight prints, meaning the bananas are weighted twice. The first time I pointed at this, I was given a refund. The second time this occurred, the same manager -- Alyssa her name -- repeatedly ignored the 2 weight prints, alleging the charge was correct. Why would she confirm an overcharge in the first case, then allege it is all correct, while the same abnormality repeats ? In addition, I was overcharged more than 1 USD for the couscous.
