This shop is perfectly located next to the visitor's center in Joshua Tree. It is a small shop filled with everything you may need for your day of hiking in Joshua tree. I have to say, I didn't expect much from this place, especially since it's right next to the visitors center. But WOW, they have some of the best coffee I've had in a while! I usually get my coffee black and this cold brew was brewed to perfection. The flavor was so good and my girlfriend and I came back the next day to order the same thing. They also have great sandwiches, but I didn't get a chance to get a picture. The staff is very friendly and you can tell that they really like working with each other. Merrilee and her buisness partner opened up this adorable grab and go early October 2020. We found it due to all the healthier lunch options around closing earlier. My friends and I were so pleased with the food and service that we returned twice within our quick escapade. I remember having a Mediterranean wrap which was divine, great ingredients, made with love, care and delicious hummus. We thoroughly enjoyed the egg salad, and Parmesan Kale salad with a lemon juice and olive oil vinaigrette. You'll find the food is simple, which is what makes it so great. Ultra nourishing with no compensation to the quality and flavor. We swooped up some locally produced honey which I've been savoring since our last trip to Joshua Tree. My other favorite finds were the locally roasted salted peanuts and dried fruits. This place is amazing! And it's so convenient since it like by the park's entrance. The owner was super sweet and even had a conversation with us. They had a bunch of snacks and sandwiches to take into the park! The sandwich were really big and you can tell they make them constantly throughout the day. This spot is serving "grab and go" style food! We went for the first day they opened and the selection is perfect for if you need to bring breakfast or lunch into the park. I had the caprese sandwich, which was tasty and tried their cookies! Yum! They also sell really nice cheese which is hard to find around here. I had a caramel cold brew, it was quality, smooth and didn't taste old like cold brew often can. I'd recommend light half and half as the drink is already pretty sweet. It's a nice place to grab some food or coffee before heading into the park, but please note the food is really basic. We got a ham and cheese sandwich ($6) and a small kale salad ($4). The ham and cheese sandwich is just that and the kale salad was very cheddary (not bad/not good). They also only have hot coffee or tea. No iced tea. It's super fresh and they fly in there delicious sub rolls in from NJ so the Italian hoagie is like the ones I use to get in NYC. Damn. So I went on a spontaneous trip out to Joshua Tree. Right before my hike, I stopped by the Roadrunner Grab+Go to pick up a sandwich based on a recommendation from a local. This grab and go deli is located in the Joshua Tree National Park visitor center on Park Blvd. and is open everyday of the year from 7:30AM to 5PM. Everything here is scratch made daily. So don't expect you regular packaged sandwiches here. I bought a roast beef and cheddar sandwich with chimmichurri and packed it in my backpack before I entered the park. I squatted down and ate the sandwich in the middle of my hike and it was pure bliss. I absolutely loved all the ingredients used in the sandwich, from the high-quality Boars Head roast beef to the incredible chimmichurri spread. The bread is also perfect for a deli sandwich, firm but soft. It's also a big, filling sub. It is absolutely an incredible value at a $13 price point. I can safely say this is the best cold deli sandwich I've ever had. I know they also offer a few other hot breakfast and lunch items that I'm sure I'll eventually try. They also have great sides and salads, including Rusty's Chips, my favorite potato chips!! This is a must-try when visiting Joshua Tree/Yucca Valley/29 Palms. I highly recommend it. read more

We love this little cafe with an amazing selection of grab and go items, ranging from fried chicken and mac and cheese to vegan broccoli salad (my favorite) to a large variety of sandwiches. This is our go to for lunch on days we need something quick or for picking up before heading into the park for a picnic and hike. My only wish is that they were open a little later than 5 so we could grab something after work. I worry about pre-prepared sandwiches being soggy, but the one I had was perfect. A little splash of vinegar gave it a zingy taste, not soggy in the slightest. What a great set of options as you head into Joshua Tree NP for the day. This place has gourmet grab n go snacks-drinks-salads-sandwiches and dessert. I got the veggie sandwich, my companion had the Italian. There were a lot of great choices. Bread was soft- not soggy- and just right. Veggies and cheese were fresh and the chimichurri sauce and jalapeño were a great add. I ate the whole sandwich because we didn't have a cooler at the time and that held me over for a full day in the park. If you have a cooler you can get two meals out of 1 sandwich or split with your hiking buddy. You can build multiple meals from this place or a solid picnic! It may seem a little pricey but worth every Penny when it comes to choices (NOT GREASY FAST FOOD), flavor, preparation, and convenience. It is attached to the 29 Palms visitor center which is your gateway to the west entrance of the national park. read more
