No matter the time of year I love visiting Downtown Home & Garden. My previous review stated, "I love any store where I can get tulip bulbs, a new bird house, a winter hat shaped like a Christmas tree, a new cookie sheet and a loaf of Zingerman's bread" and all that still rings true. But these days I also add national parks merch, gear for my dogs, holiday decor, kitchen gadgets and cookbooks and, perhaps most exciting for a Polish broad like myself, a variety of Polish pottery pieces. In the spring and summer months I can be found perusing peony bulbs for my garden, hummingbird feeders, bird seed and squirrel proof bird feeders, planters, plants/starters for my veggie garden, pest control and fertilizers, plus a variety of lawn decor and sculpture pieces, etc. Some things can be kind of pricey but you truly get what you pay for. Even after years out in the elements everything I've bought for my yard here is still in amazing condition, my plants from here always yield the most delicious fruits and veggies, and the little birdies are so happy with the snacks we provide them from their bins.

I was able to a get quote ($6 per knife) and it was finished within 10 minutes. They also did the paper cut test right in front of me! Very sharp. I didn't realize they sold awesome chef knives too and kitchen scissors! Great to know that this little vacuum shop is such a great local knife and scissors sharpening option (rather then sending it out via mail, etc).

It was clear that he knew his stuff and took pride in his work. He helped to reset the edge of my Wusthof chef knives to the proper angle and got them back to me sharpened razor sharp. He turned them around the same day--just a few hours, actually--and they're sharper than ever. I feel stupid for paying premium prices for Wusthofs and Henkels. The gentleman also sharpened my daughter's beloved Leatherman blade better than it was when we bought it for her. Was very happy when they purchased Rowell's and brought quality products and service to Jackson. Two months ago I bought a new Sebo which was a great vac but only used it 3 times before new carpet was installed. Despite bringing home carpet samples, we found to our shock the installed carpet was WAY thicker than what we thought we were getting. So the Sebo model we just bought was not going to cut it. Rowell's allowed a trade in for a different Sebo that does work without any hassle and Rex was thorough in his guidance. What a relief! This kind of service does not exist at the big box stores. You might think you are paying more for your vac but remember they service what they sell and will keep it running for many years which is real value.
