I tried Roar once. I enjoyed the workout but was completely turned off by the front desk personnel. We asked if we can try one class for free as we were interested in a new gym. The answer was that they already have too many people so they can't offer a free class. I'm sorry, but that is no way to attract new customers by stating you have enough. Who says that? 5 star workout, 5 star instructors, 5 star studio! I love everything about ROAR. There is such a good energy at this gym that keeps me from going back. Everyone is so nice and friendly and the workouts kick my a**! I believe the classes are for all fitness levels since you can go at your own speed when doing reps and choose your own weight. The instructor(s) will show you every workout at the stations before you begin. But if you're like me and forget, they also have it written at every station. I would say the workouts are a mix of HIIT, strength and endurance. I have such wimpy arms and after an arm day at ROAR, I already feel much stronger! Leg days are my favorite here (Tuesday's and Friday's). They have boxing on Wednesday's, as well. read more

I've been working out consistently for a few years and stopped seeing results, that's when I decided to try out The Fit Shop from a friend's recommendation. I was instantly hooked. My first class was two other people and myself and it worked me harder than any class ever had. Adriane, the owner and instructor, was teaching my first class and she pushed me to try harder beyond what I thought were my limits. She's a great instructor, motivator and makes you feel like she really cares about this place and everyone in it. No BS though - she will kick your ass in the best sense of the word. Everyone who instructs there is great though (Vanessa and Jason are awesome). The shop is modeled after a mechanic shop (hence classes are named tune up / supercharge / burnout, etc.). It's a no frills type of place but definitely more than a typical CrossFit box. You go there to get fit, not for the fluff. Keep going and you will see results. I recommend the monthly unlimited if you're going to go 3x or more per week. Don't be intimidated it's really hard for everyone, not just beginners. I used a groupon to check this gym out and was very satisfied with my experience. Classes are always different so there is no time to get bored. Class starts with a warm up that could be squats, running outside (short distance), mountain climbers, plank, pushups, etc. The workout is broken into multiple circuits. The instructor groups people so you don't have to worry about who to work out with or what station to start at first. This is a great gym if you get bored with working out on equipment. There is no 30 minutes of running on a treadmill.....they don't even have a treadmill! They have bikes, rowers, medicine balls, dumb bells, ski machine, TRX, etc. The implement different items each class so you are always trying and doing something new. The instructors know your name and make sure you are using proper form. They will modify anything to fit the need of your body. The facility is clean. Make sure to bring boxing gloves for Super Charge class. They charge $5 if you borrow the gym's gloves. read more

I called to let them know I couldn't come to the class several hours before but it went to voicemail. I was hoping they could move me to a later class since I was having car trouble and would need some time to sort my tire out, but no one ever called me back and I was automatically charged the class fee. At least call people back! Definitley seems like a place that is just here for your money. read more

LOVE The Fit Shop! Been a member since January and love the gym, workouts, and the trainers. They have the most current state of the art equipment, the gym is immaculate and inviting and the owners and trainers are the most inspiring and motivational EVER!
