I have recently spent too much time in this part of NY. For which I vote this the most imminently inhale-able breakfast burrito imaginable. Hash brown/Potato? Check! Hot sauce? Check! Eggs? Check! First time dining for lunch today. It took me a minute to order because they had a good amount of sandwich options that were appealing to me. Some options I never seen on a menu before. I can tell that whoever made this menu is a real sandwich eater lol. I got the buffalo chicken cesar wrap and a side a fries. The buffalo sauce wasn't too spicy to where it just tastes like hot sauce, but tangy enough to balance out the cesar salad. And they were generous with the fries. Very good hand cut fries, just needed a little dash of salt. My coworker said the wagyu chop cheese was good. Just wished they seasoned the meat a little more. I can understand the other sandwich toppings are supposed to balance it out but a little extra pepper never hurt lol All in all they're on point. Service was helpful. I was jonesing for either a pastrami or corned beef sandwich but they don't have any of those on their menu! I've received emails from Roast in the past, promoting their Ruben Sandwiches but apparently, that was during St Paddy's only...not on their regular menu. I ended up getting a Crispy Chicken ala Vodka Hero (17.17 including tax). It was huge and pretty good! I would get this again. This store is small, with a few tables available for dine-in but most people do takeout. Metered parking only. Conveniently located a few blocks from the LIRR. People working here definitely have some sort of disorder or syndrome considering they can't handle removing spinach and putting romaine in salads or following basic instructions; man I wish I too could lack brain cells the same way they do here. Great sandwiches! Everything that I've gotten from here is great. Roast Beef Melt, Chicken Parm, Chicken Tenders, Potato Tots as well as the Sweet Potato variety too. I really dig the Roast Beef Melt and the Chicken Parm as my two favorites. These awesome bites are especially great to take to a nearby park table for an outdoor lunch. These sandwiches are a little hefty, so if you're prone to a little nap time after a carby meal, this is probably one meal that you want to be careful with. The Roast Beef Melt is also is a messy meal so be careful make sure you grab some extra napkins. The staff are friendly and there is plenty of seating available even during lunch hours. The nearby NYU Langone hospital staff I assume probably grabs much grub to go. read more

Came here for the first time with my wife for a quick lunch. We ordered 2 sandwiches and fries. Could easily have split 1. The Cubano was excellent, very fresh. We are well versed in Latino food and this hit the spot. The Pernil was very good. We also ordered the grilled chicken sandwich which was excellent. Blackened Shrimp Cobb Salad was sooo good. I'm a sucker for anything with shrimp and avocado so this was an obvious choice for me. Everything in this bowl was super fresh. I need my lettuce to taste like crunchy water and this was it. I will say that the price ($18) is a little high for a takeout salad. While it was delicious, I don't know if it would be my first choice when I'm in the area considering the price. Their paninis sound good so perhaps I will try those whenever I stop here next. They don't follow instructions. I asked for no tomato and dressing on the side in addition to the two eggs over easy to be added to it. They only did the eggs, but everything else is not as requested. I hope I enjoy the dressing. And they're lucky I'm not allergic to tomatoes. The chicken tastes fine but is lacking flavor and they served it cold. Gross. I know I ordered the salad but the grilled chicken should be grilled and chicken and actually hot or at least warm when it is served. The guy at the counter took my order right and was helpful in letting me know what I'd save when using a card or cash. It's nice and sunny during the morning hours. A handful of tables and chairs for people who wish to dine in. They also have metal stools by the window. I had no idea they had a location in Mineola! This is one of my favorite lunch spots and the staff is always great. The bread is always perfectly toasted and my favorite sandwich, the crispy chicken alla vodka, is both filling and a little expensive (~$16). My wife got the Country Fried Chicken with Mike's Hot Honey and that was delicious as well, especially if you are a fan of Mike's. The menu has lots of great options, so I really do need to branch out a little and try something new, but it's hard to pass up that Chicken Alla Vodka! They were about 30 minutes from closing when I arrived and everything was clean and tidy. One thing to note is that on Saturdays it closes at 3PM and closed on Sundays. M-F I believe they are open till 8PM. The Mineola location also has a loyalty program online. Not all of them do. read more

Rib eye is thin & juicy that It doesn't need sauce but the garlic aioli is so yummy and a nice touch. I still always ask for an extra side of the sauce that they use inside the sandwich. Service was slow, i got my food ten minutes after the people in my party got theirs, and it was cold.

Fantastic food, but frustratingly never open on time. I do early morning shifts (typically 5-1) as an electrician at Winthrop Hospital nearby, and my break for food usually falls between 8-9am, and I stumbled upon Roast one morning and decided to swing by and try it out for breakfast, and WOW! The food (particularly the southwest breakfast) is delicious and fresh, the staff friendly, and the store clean. I've been frequenting about once or twice a week ever since. However, within the last few months I've noticed the store opening later and later in the morning despite the official hours listed as 8am-8pm. And I don't mean 8:03, 8:05, or 8:10, because that would be perfectly acceptable every now and then. I've worked in the food business and I'm human, I can understand a few minutes here and there, we've all ran a little behind a few times in our lives. But recently it's been more like 8:25, 8:30, and today the most egregious at 8:42. As someone who only has an hour or so break my time is precious. I've been left standing outside waiting for someone to let me in every single time I've come here in the last 2 months, and It's getting ridiculous. By the time I get my food, walk back to the hospital and sit down to eat I have less than 10 minutes to quickly scarf down my breakfast and get back to work. It's disrespectful and unfair to me as a customer and has on several occasions stopped me from coming by for breakfast at all, and instead give my business to a nearby deli, which I recommend you do too if you're looking to eat here. I hope this review reaches management and that changes are made soon because it's frankly unacceptable. Either staff accordingly for an opening shift, change your hours to open later, or stop serving breakfast all together before it causes you to lose happily paying customers. read more

Mmmm so tasty! The sweet potato tater tots are my FAVORITE. 1000% recommend. This little place on the corner couldn't be more convenient. It's close to the hospital and the train station - perfect spot for a bite. The interior is pretty small, so not ideal for groups larger than two, but they're experts when it comes to takeout and fulfilling online orders quickly, so that's always a viable option. The staff is awesome and more than willing to help answer questions or get you what you're looking for. I love the food I get from Roast. My friends do too, which is why they recommended it to me. The only problem is that it's surprisingly small. When my friend and I went to pick up an order, we both remarked on how tiny one of our salads was. It tastes great, just keep in mind that the portions won't be very large. Even so, it's definitely worth stopping by for lunch. Especially for the tater tots. Trust me. SO good. read more

The word "Roast" just makes me feel warm inside. It's like a direct connection to heating up my core. What's even better is when that word lives up to the hype it creates in my mind. Case in point: Roast Sandwich House, where you'll chow down on some quality handhelds along with a few sufficient sides. That's just what my girlfriend and I did a couple weeks back. Now I already consumed one unbelievably tasty Roast meal over in Hicksville several years ago, so when I learned a RSH would be opening relatively close to me, I knew it would end up in my belly sooner or later. Truth be told, it's location was once a La Bottega where I had dined on a glorious dinner, so I knew the space inside was gonna be small. It was exactly that, with a handful of tables and a small counter space to the left of the cashier. Sitting and eating there, you could tell Roast does a lot of pick up/on the go orders from the amount of customers coming in and out. For us, we had time in our day so we took a few minutes to peruse then menu on the board. It's a little financially nice yet interestingly odd that Roast has a few sandwich/soup/salad/side pick combos, but some of those choices aren't on the rest of the menu or vice versa. Even so, it's tough not to go for that kind of deal and so my lady and I each ordered the aforementioned half sandwich half something else. I went with the buffalo roasted chicken sandwich and a side of tomato bisque soup while she went for the roasted turkey avocado panini and a side of house made french fries. And, just because it sounded interesting (and wasn't on the list of available you-pick items), we tried the sweet chili crispy Brussels. After paying, we parked ourselves at a table, and once a slight wait passed by, our grub appeared from the back kitchen. So how were things? Well that buffalo roasted chicken was near perfect. The quality of shredded-style poultry with a little kick was spot on. The tomato bisque did the trick too with a creamy tomato flavor and an accompaniment of a mini grilled cheese (nice touch!). I didn't try the lady's sandwich, but she said it was tasty, though I did munch on her addicting fries. Crisp and delicious. Those Brussels were also pretty good, though there was way too much sweet chili syrup on them which drowned out any last bites at the bottom. Despite the Brussels being meh, things were right around what I expected. Overall, Roast Sandwich House of Mineola does the trick in delivering just what you're craving, as long as that crave involves fresh meats and soups along with some stellar fries (skip them Brussels, but don't forget to eat your veggies...ya know, in life). Consider this a slightly less than five star experience (as compared to the other Hicksville lunch), but definitely worthy of a return trip. read more

A well prepared breakfast sandwich is one of my favorite foods. Roast did not disappoint. I ordered their Roast Egg Sandwich and it was one of the greatest egg sandwiches I've had in a long time. I substituted American cheese for cheddar. The hashbrowns and bacon added the perfect crunch to the sandwich. Fresh roll was good but me personally I would have done a brioche bun. One of the best sandwich places hands down. My husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich, I had the roast beef melt, the kids split the chicken and fries kids meal. The only down side was they don't have juice, just sodas, teas, lemonades, apple juice would have been great esp since they have kids meals. The roast beef melt was delicious as was the fried chicken sandwich. The french fries were great as well. Were homemade as opposed to the typical freezer fries most restaurants serve. The chicken for the kids was basically fried chicken cutlet cut up. There is seating but it is small and it is nice that they have a high chair as well. Yeah, I know, this is supposed to be a sandwich shop featuring in-house roasted meats. I however on my first visit to the new Mineola location, I went for the special salad of the day. Mixed greens, ripe peaches, pistachios, fresh mozzarella and juicy roasted chicken slices. Delicious and perfectly dressed ( can't recall the special dressing, most likely homemade though). As beautiful to look at (see accompanying photo) as it was to eat! So awesome!!! There are not enough good words to say about Roast Sandwich House, the team who works here and the ownership. I have been a fan of Roast since I started going to their Melville location. I always said it was awesome then and it's just more awesome. The new Mineola location is really sharp and simple, as in Melville, the seating is limited but they have some tables and counter by the window. It bright and a good place to be for a meal. The Food... Well, I am not going to go over every sandwich item by item so I'll focus on one of my favorites, Soft Shell Crab, PO Boy. Oh Boy, this is a fresh, delicious sandwich on delicious bread. Crab is perfectly cooked and the sandwich is just filled with delicious. I also love the chick alla vodka. Again, plenty of delicious chicken and a sandwich filled with a whole lot of yum. Make sure you try both the fries and sweet potato tots. Great soups and salads too. I could write about Roast for days but all I want to say is. MAKE SURE you come here for lunch or dinner. Located right off the Mineola LIRR station, this place is great for anyone that just wants to grab something before they go home or get on the train. I ordered delivery today, order #62, at 12:30 pm. Since I go to lunch at 1, I asked about the delivery time. The restaurant is only @ 4-6 blocks away. I was told 20 minutes. Perfect! Then I got a text from Uber saying delivery was scheduled for 1:26. I called to cancel my order but was told it really was going to be 20 minutes. The order showed up at 1:30. Not only was my lunch time over, but the sandwich (an rb melt) was disappointing to say the least. It was not hot, barely warm. It was soggy from being wrapped up too long (the au jus was on the side, so not from that). So a soggy roll and tasteless roast beef and I missed lunch anyway. When I called back to say they should have told me the truth about the delivery time, the young girl I spoke to said there was no manager available to speak with. When I explained why I was dissatisfied, she started explaining someone else took my order and she would send it over right away? That made no sense, since I just told her I did get the order.... If you're in the area, this place has some great sandwiches. The delis around have been slacking so I'd reccomend going here instead. Especially if you're in the mood for a hot sandwich, salad or wrap. I love their blackened shrimp salad minus the bacon. I've tried all the salads (minus the crutons), even the beet saladsnf they're all good. If you're keto they will happily keep things you don't want out of the salads. They totally let me customize my salads. I really appreciate them doing that. Super accommodating. My husband loves their roast beef, tuna, and crispy chicken sandwich, minus the bacon. They also have specials that are yummy as well. I'm still a bit salty over them not having the spicy burrito special anymore that was so delicious on my non keto days.
