Obsessed with this coffee spot!!!!! Gosh, I wish there were more of these all around Southern California! I'm so happy they opened the Riverside location. Recently, they had a horror pop-up event. It was the perfect excuse to try out the coffee. It did not disappoint! All of the spooky names of the drinks were fun! I loved that they make designs of your favorite characters. I wanted to get the Mike Myers drink or the Jason one so I could have the face on my coffee lol Taste wise though I thought those would be too strong for me. I ordered the white chocolate raspberry drink and it was delicious! It had a sweetness and the white chocolate and raspberry flavor was yummy! My husband ordered the worm drink and it came with gummy worms in the top lol Love it! The theme is amazing and the drinks are chillingly frightening. What more could you ask for?! This place rocks!!

First timers and we loved it! The vibes were spooky of course! The service was super kind we showed up 10 minutes before closing and we felt so bad we didn't want to be those people but the staff made us feel so welcomed and told us not to worry about it. They answered any questions we had and we ended up getting two blended drinks and a blueberry lemonade. My son loved his shark blood drink with the shark gummies on top. The blended drinks were just as great we'll have to go back for their espresso. We'll be back for sure!

When I pulled up to Roast of the Dead. I didn't expect much. The exterior was unassuming, with just a few people lingering outside looking at some items for sale on shelves. It felt like just another quick pit stop on a road trip. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! The moment I stepped inside, the atmosphere was completely transformed. The horror theme really works. I thought it was it's quirky, immersive, and fun. Not only was the interior a pleasant surprise, but their coffee was genuinely really good. It's clear they put as much effort into their brews as they do their aesthetic. The experience was topped off by the service, which was fast and friendly. It's the perfect blend of great hospitality and high-quality product in a unique environment. Don't let the exterior fool you--it's a truly memorable coffee shop experience.

Always enjoy the first location. This place is not really in a good location but the inside is big. It feels kind of empty inside but the decorations are cool. I ended up getting Child's Play with extra shots of espresso. It was good and if I didn't add the shot of espresso it might have been too sweet for me. But the flavor is awesome! I feel like this location has room for merchandise to sell. I just wish this place wasn't so far off the freeway.

My wife loves Halloween and she's been wanting to come check this place out for a while. They were having an event this weekend with popups selling Halloween stuff. Fun spot to take some pictures and get some bomb ass coffee absolutely way better than Starbucks hands-down!! service was great even after the fact that the place was super full. Had to wait a while in line to order but definitely worth it. They were playing some death metal music definitely Vibin with almost felt like throwing some people around and starting a mosh pit.

I loved it so much! I can't remember the girls name that helped me at the register, but she was very nice and helpful. We didn't know what to order at first because we were so amazed with everything and reading all of the drink names they have and she was very nice in helping us understand the drinks and it was just a great experience overall really good vibes. I got the "worms Michael" the lost boys is my favorite movie which was super cool and it tasted really good, my husbands coffee was supper yummy as well

Cute little stop on our way home from LA. It's a small little horror coffee shop filled with horror movie icon items. I got the red velvet Freddy Krueger iced latte, honestly was expecting super sweet. Was quite pleasantly sweet. Loved that it was read and green. My daughter got an Oreo blended drink(non coffee) she loved it, reminded her of a shake. It's a little ways from the freeway but I didn't mind the drive. Owner was super friendly and welcoming.

The coffee is really good, especially with the whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and chocolate syrup making it feel like a dessert drink. I liked how the presentation matched the Halloween theme and made the drinks stand out. The red and yellow lighting gave the place a spooky but cool vibe. The decorations made the atmosphere feel exciting and different from a regular coffee shop. Overall, I thought it was a fun place to grab a sweet coffee

Always looking for new coffee shops to try and Roast the Dead was a great experience. Lots of fun horror ambiance and places to sit. I really enjoyed the very low lighting that really added to the aesthetic and creepy atmosphere. A great place to try out yourself or to WOW a date that likes horror movies and coffee. I ordered the Vorhees Fog and it was absolutely the best cold foam I have ever had. Nice and thick as not all cold foams, cream caps, soft tops etc. are equal! My coffee had 3 distinct color levels and I really enjoyed my coffee and the overall experience. Two people were working on a Saturday and they were friendly and quick with orders. I will be back!

Horror and coffee just work together. I can't explain it. It just DOES. So when I found that Roast the Dead Coffee opened a location in Riverside I knew I had to try it. Located in possibly one of the most low key strip malls in the city (behind Savers), Roast the Dead isn't something you'd find in passing. However you forget about all that once you walk in. The fun horror theme is at the forefront of this large dimly lit space. The menu is big and sometimes things get sold out. The drinks were delicious but not cheap! But what is these days? Service was super friendly and patient with this first timer. Location aside, Roast the Dead is an awesome little coffee shop. The service, interior and most important of all, the drinks were great. I'll definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

A hidden gem in Riverside! I couldn't picture a coffee shop in this shopping center but I was blown away with how great the inside looks. If you like horror, you'll love this place. They do an amazing job making it as dark as possible inside. It was very clean and spacious. Coffee was SO GOOD, lots of great choices. Look forward to coming back and trying something new.

Spooky Coffee place here in Riverside! It's like a Halloween theme here all year round, lol! Wanted something spooky so I was recommended to try on their menu the Voorhees Fog Marshmallow cold brew. Has a display face of Jason on the top. So cool and delicious too! This place is open all year round so stop by if you're ever in the area of this part of Riverside! Will be back to try another one of their menu specialty drinks Service was awesome! Drink came out quick and it was actually a worker that recommend me the drink since it was my first time there. Great recommendation!

A horror fans dream! Still up and coming but they have some really cool displays! It is pitch dark inside so it definitely keeps with the theme. I've been a few times & both times I've had a great experience. The staff is really nice & helpful! The pumpkin latte w/oat was so good and honestly the best alternative I've found. I will say it is on the expensive side! I paid $10 for a 24oz however most places have raised their prices and I get you're paying for the ambiance! The coffee is really good so I think it's worth the price! Cool place to check out. read more

One dark, cold room.... With tasty coffee choices. Cute little horror movie scene set designs. The service was super friendly and helpful while I decided what it was I wanted to drink. Their coffee "killer drinks" and "the fogs" choices are cold brew based so caffeine potency was good....and if you like your coffees stronger you can always add an espresso shot or two to your drinks. They had also lattes and cappuccino options as well. For those who don't drink coffee... they also had some teas and lemonade drinks. A lot of choices. A few tables to sit at with a scream scene photo /sitting op. So for all my coffee vamps out there... you'll love it in here because it's cold and dark. read more

I would give 6 stars if I could! This place was splendid, the atmosphere was to DIE for LOL (literally). The youngsters behind the counter were extremely kind and helped with my menu selections, they also had fun colorful hair and their aesthetic matched the spooky atmosphere. The menu itself was insanely creative and as a horror movie fanatic I was pleased as punch to see my handsome hubby Freddy included in the selection! I ordered the salty seas fog and the cookies from the crypt, both were really tasty, and I was giddy to see purple whipped cream on top. The salty seas drink was perfectly sweet, salty, and very creamy, I finished it within minutes. I hope to try the Hi Ya Georgie during my next visit and spend some more time with my pals (the nun, Michael Meyers, and ghost face). Oh, if only I could see my Freddy!! read more

I think I overhyped myself for this place. I tried visiting with my daughters on Juneteenth drove over an hour to realize it was closed. That was a bummer. I had a spa appointment in Montclair (a Saturday ) with my friend who's also a spooky fan and decided to visit again. Parking near it was very limited. When we entered there was really not much to see at all. It was noon and at least 3-4 of their most popular intriguing drinks were all out. Their small vendors/merch was very minimal. The cashiers were friendly. I ended up getting a cookie butter flavored drink, Tales from the crypt themed if I remember correctly and my friend got the Churrona drink. Drinks were tasty. The music was a whole vibe. The foot traffic was pretty consistent the whole time we were there. I recommend this place if you're a local but making a 1hr+ drive, don't expect much in the spooky props/decor department. read more

I've been to a few horror coffee shops, but this one by far is my favorite. The inside is a whole vibe, they keep it nice and dark in there with good music.. And the coffee! Not only do they have amazing choices but the actual coffee is so good!! I got the Voorhees fog, man that coffee is smooth! I read someone describe it as the perfect amount of sweet, and it really is. I drove from Lake Elsinore to try this place out, and it was worth the drive. Definitely going back read more

I've become a regular at Roast the Dead because it's such a scary good time! The baristas are nice and do a good job helping me pick drinks whenever I'm indecisive. The ambience is spooky in a chill way, which is an odd combination in the best way possible. I love seeing a small business uplift others when they invite vendors on the weekends. I heard about this coffee place from Tiktok. Walking in it was dark and creepy, in a good way, it is a halloween horror movie themed coffee shop. Barista welcomed us in and let us know what they didn't have, since they ran out, I'm sure those were the popular drinks. They were friendly and took my order promptly. Coffee and horror sign me up . I had been wanting to check out the original roast the dead in Yucaipa but never got a change to check it out . I was so happy when I found out about this opened and it's from the original owner . I came in about 10 minutes before closing and although it was towards the end of the day the staff was still extremely friendly . I loved all of the different themed decorations and all the different themed drinks scanned over the menu to find something I could try . The girl working suggested I try the cold brew with the sugar free cinnamon dolce syrup . I was sold . Overall the drink was really good . I was nervous that this place wouldn't live up to the hype but it certainly did . The one thing that really stood out to me was all of the sugar free syrups . As a fellow diabetic it's nice when you are considered and thought of . Anywho I will definitely be back soon to try out another one of their killer drinks . read more

Coffee was good, I love that they have a good variety of sugar free flavors and Skinny Mixes just so happen to be my favorite sugar free syrups so that's a plus! They make their cold brew in house which was very strong so it did its job! The ambience is definitely unique and I had no complaints on the service. My biggest shock was the prices, I spent around $16 on 2 large drinks. read more

Love this spot! The ambiance is perfect for horror/slasher fans. The coffee was amazing too. I took some photo ops, my favorite spot being near Ghostface (of course ) The staff was friendly upon arrival, guiding myself and my brother through the menu for the first time. As a nursing student, I THRIVE on caffeine. I love their killer drinks. The coffee wasn't too bitter or too sweet. Drinks are super creative, and I appreciate their nondairy options. I'll definitely be back to study and for the ambiance. There is seating in the back with outlets. When asking them, they plan to have WiFi at this location by next month (July-ish). Located in a strip mall this coffee shop is a hidden spooky gem! Halloween all year round is what I love! Drinks all have spooky names and not only is it so cool it's also great coffee. Sweetness level is perfect, espresso is bold and you can actually taste it. Service is great, speedy and friendly which is rare these days. Will be back when I'm in the area. read more

Very spooky coffee shop, on theme from the first step you take to the scary movies playing on the TV. Their coffee is amazing!!! I got a Freddy Fogs pumpkin spice, & it was to dead for!!! A must try for lovers of all things spooky. So good we went twice in one day! Horror themed art and photo op decorations throughout the shop. Tried the salted caramel fog and shark water the first time and came back for the strawberry lemonade shortly after. Super friendly staff. We quickly received our order both times. This location is a lot bigger than the yucaipa location which I like. There is a lot of seating throughout, which is also a plus for me. Staff is friendly. So you will always have one half that has less chicken and ends up being part veggie pesto sandwhich, which is still worth it. The other favorite is a turkey club sandwhich on a croissant. Upon looking at the receipt, the person who took my order just gave me a regular cafe latte and didn't add the syrup I requested. The coffee was fine, but I would have liked trying something new. I have gotten several of their food options before, and I think that some of them are well-priced for the portion and some can be more on the expensive side. I think the avocado toast was pretty robust and was a good value. The steak and eggs are somewhat hit or miss, and I have had it multiple times. The cut of the meat can be chewy at times, and then also more lean and tender other times. Sometimes it comes with large pieces of chewy fat, which isn't quite to my taste. The sandwich options generally are a good value. I do kind of wish they switched up their menu a bit more often, since this current menu is rather basic and they have had more interesting food options before. Overall, a decent choice for a more premium coffee, tea, and food for the Downtown/UCR area of Riverside. Service is okay, and I have had somewhat mixed experiences with that. The employees generally seem pleasant and they're nice, but I have gotten incorrect orders at least a couple of times. During this particular visit, in which the photos are from, I had to ask two different people to get extra napkins. Our actual server was the first to acknowledge, then possibly forgot and didn't come back.

We recently checked out Roast the Dead Coffee in Riverside and were totally charmed by its cool ambiance and killer attention to detail. My wife is a huge Scream fan, so the Ghostface corner was a definite highlight for her. The decor is spooky but fun--think Halloween year-round in the best possible way. Our kids were a little nervous walking in (it is themed like a haunted coffee shop, after all), but they ended up loving it and now call it "the Halloween coffee store." It's playful without being over-the-top, and the atmosphere is super welcoming. There are cozy tables for couples or small groups, and a few couches with coffee tables that add a relaxed, laid-back vibe. The dim lighting also obscured the merchandise, making it hard to browse and enjoy the shop's offerings.
