Best bagel's I've found so far. Perfect flavor (everything bagel), slightly chewy & their nova cream cheese is delicious! The portions were generous and well presented - I had the spinach and mushroom frittata (and added turkey); it was really hearty! My brother had the Pastrami Rachel and really liked it. Returning to the "hood" requires a visit to the local bagel shop. Roasters n' Toasters is just down the street from my childhood home and it's the current iteration of our local bagel shop. There has been one in this strip center for as long as I can remember. I was unsure of the bagels (not all are created equal) so I played it safe with an omelet... bagel on the side. The spinach, onion, swiss omelet (my basic safe choice) was actually pretty good and plenty of food. The side of tomatoes very good and the bagel was also good and prepared as ordered. Ok, good but not great.... The service was (again) good and the server attentive. We were early and it wasn't busy so I can only speak to these circumstances. I came here yesterday with my family and I have to say that expectations were high. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not deliver. When we first came in, we were immediately seated and given menus; however, for around 15-20 minutes after that, we were ignored by all wait staff. I ordered the lunch special (1/2 matzo ball soup, 1/2 black forest ham sandwich). It was very clear that the soup had been reheated in a microwave, as it was steaming but not hot in temperature. The ham sandwich was only okay. For the table, we ordered a potato knish, which was forgotten by the wait staff. When reminded, the kitchen staff must have thrown it in the microwave, because it very clearly was not heated in the oven. All in all, would not return here again. Wait staff was not friendly, and seemed to get upset when we ordered additional things. The only redeeming quality of the restaurant is that all orders come with a plate of pickles and coleslaw for the table (but don't ask for more or the waiter will get annoyed). read more

We found this Roasters 'n Toasters to be very conveniently located and easily accessible. The environment was clean this Sunday morning with self-seating. Initial atmosphere appeared warm and relaxing as greeted by the you lady that welcomed us. This same young lady provided menus and served drink orders and timely frequent checks for refills on coffee and drink orders throughout our meal. But then, there was our waitress an older lady with an horrible initial presentation. Her demeanor was gruff and shifted the atmosphere the previous young lady worked so excellently to create. Our waitress was impatient and was heard fussing about the kitchen staff performance, as she used profane language, in the presence of customers. After receiving my coffee from the warm and friendly young lady, I wanted to inquire about getting some honey from our waitress as she past the table. I said, "Excuse me, Ma'am." To which our waitress abruptly, replied, "WHAT!" As her demeanor and sharp response caught me off guard, I paused. Needless to say, I eventually received the requested honey from the friendly and warm young lady. My wife and I contemplated leaving, but due to the way the other young lady served us we stayed. I had the Nova bagel and it was everything I hoped it would be. It was beautifully presented, delicious, filling without the sluggish bloated feeling. My wife had the egg whites with spinach and mushrooms. The presentation of her food was equally impressive and tasty. We are glad we stayed as the food and presentation by the other staff/employees far exceeded that of our bitter and unwelcoming older Waitress. Final takeaway, I would have absolutely rated this place a (5) star, if it had not been for our waitress service. With much appreciation to all the other staff, give this restaurant a solid (4) as I feel compelled to capture the entire experience for a true evaluation. In the old Bagel Bar location, and with similar menu items from the original Corky's, there is something for everyone here. I came here with the wifey and thing 1 and 3, thing 2 had things going on. They had never been here before, and quite honestly, not sure why being so close to home, but I had been meaning to take them here, so the time finally came. When you walk in, you can see the deli counter in front and to the left, and the main restaurant seating is to the right. It was a Sunday, around noon, and it was busy, but we sat right away. Its seat yourself, and we managed to get a booth. I ordered an egg-white frittata, with spinach and mushrooms, well done home fries (I ordered them burnt) and a scooped everything bagel, wifey ordered a side of scrambled eggs, and we also ordered a 3 piece Challah French toast, which thing 3 was convinced she would eat it all. I told her there was no way, and she said ok, then she will have two pieces, and the rest was for everyone else. So we were waiting for the food, the server brought our drinks, and some pickles and cole slaw, and I munched while we waited. Im not really into pickles and cole slaw, but these were some good pickles and cole slaw. The food came, and everything was exactly as ordered. The home fries arrived after, because they were crisping them up, and it was well worth the wait. All the dishes were HUGE. The frittata came sliced up like 4 huge pieces of pizza, the bagel was scooped and toasted perfectly, and the home fries were crispy, just like I liked. The French toast was amazing. Somewhat crispy on the outside, totally gooey on the inside, the kids and wifey were in heaven. Thing 3 only finished 1 piece, and the side order of eggs was enough for all 3 to share. Wifey and Thing 1 only managed to eat 1 piece of the French toast, so we ended up taking 1 piece home. There was so much food. The server took really took care of us, and the bill wasn't too expensive, around $35, which isn't bad considering we also had some fresh juices as well. As we were leaving, the wifey was like, why haven't we been here before and we should come here more often. I guess she liked it :) If you are looking for a good breakfast/brunch/deli spot, this could be your place. In NMB/Aventura, there is plenty of competition in this arena, so its good to see places like this that have good service, great food and you don't have to wait over an hour to sit down, like some of the other places. Every time I go I order the kitchen sink omelet which is 5 eggs, yes, 5. And then you throw what you want inside of it's body. Amazing right? Want shredded pork? No problem? Bacon, sausage AND ham? Sure, why not? Anything on their list can go inside. PLUS you get toast as well. One of my favorite things is the beverages. I know it sounds crazy, but the waitress always brought my three drinks at one and a to-go cup. I never was without a drink which is my number 1 complaint in any restaurant.
