After moving into our new home, we discovered that both brand-new refrigerators were not functioning properly. In addition, none of the showers were working correctly, as the water temperature could not be balanced and would suddenly become dangerously hot. When we brought this to the inspector's attention, his response was that they "don't check the water" and that the inspection is only "visual." We received a similar response from the agent regarding the improperly assembled dishwasher. Because of this negligence, we are now facing serious issues with the seller, who is refusing to take responsibility or corrective action. For anyone planning to buy a new home: please make sure you personally walk through everything with your agent and test all appliances, plumbing, and fixtures yourself.
