Always a great experience! Dr. Woods, Hannah, Julie, and team always go above & beyond whenever my Husky visits.

I started going to dr woods 6 years ago when my kitty was diagnosed with Hcm. I was told that she would have maybe 3 years by another vet. With Dr Woods vitamins and nutrition advice my girl lived over 6 years with her heart condition. He really cares about animals. He helped so much and explained everything. Because of him I had more time with my love cat. He goes above and beyond. Sometimes his staff are very cold and i wonder about them but he does have a few that I adore as well. But as a vet he is definitely my favorite and I am willing to drive far to see him for non emergency situations. I wish he was closer for emergencies. Thank you Dr Woods for everything you did for Bubbles.

Kind of shocked to see people complaining that office staff are rude. My pet has had some major, scary health issues this year and the staff have been nothing but helpful and supportive. Also, to the review complaining that they charge a fee for hazardous waste disposal....guess what, Dr. Woods has to pay hazardous waste disposal fees for "sharps" - needles, etc. You can't just throw that stuff in the trash! Human hospitals have to do it too! And of course vets are expensive. Buy your pets Health insurance, the policies are better now than they were 5 years ago! If you buy it while your pet is younger, it's very affordable! This office is busy because Dr. Woods and his staff do an excellent job caring for our pets. Most vets today are not like him, they will push unnecessary treatments and won't inform you about titering instead of just giving shots every year. Most vets don't take the holistic approach and thoughtfully treat your pet. Dr. Woods is a total rock star because he actually cares about treating animals to promote longevity of life. His office staff support him in this. They are all animal lovers and shower my pet with love when he has to spend the day there for IV fluids. I won't take my pet anywhere else. It is also rare that he treats small exotic animals and goes beyond the realm of just treating cats and dogs. He reminds me of the vet from the book "All Creatures Great and Small." - Customer since 2012

Thank you so much Dr. Woods ! I brought my red boston terrier mix ,Sienna for the 1st consultation and we really appreciated Dr. Woods calm ,gentle very informative session to help me provide better food for Sienna's digestive issues, allergy issues and my concerns with her hip. All the advice and suggestions were very reasonable and caring and I very much appreciated your time and helpful information to help me plan out her care.

My cat living her best life thanks to Dr. Woods!

My cat has a chronic condition and the word that comes to mind when I think of Dr. Woods and his staff is teamwork. Great teamwork. From the staff that assists me on the phone, to the ones that help my cat when I arrive, to Dr. Woods, they all do their very, very best to care for her. I am so grateful that they are working so hard to keep my cat healthy. I am also part of the team. I have learned to get my cat to the vet as soon as she is experiencing symptoms and not to wait until she get worse.

This review is long overdue. I've been bringing my dog, Chelsea, to OC Veterinary for 10 years,…read moreever since I moved her down from the Bay Area. Chelsea recently passed away at 17, almost 18. She had such a long, happy life because of the care she received here. Chelsea was my baby, and I know how hard it can be to find a good vet. Pets can't talk, but you can see when they are genuinely cared for--and Chelsea got the best care at OC Veterinary. From the receptionists to the doctors, she was loved by everyone, and I am so grateful for that. Chelsea saw both Dr. Horn and, mostly, Dr. Nikki--both are exceptional veterinarians. We saw Dr. Nikki the most, and we had a very special connection with her. After Chelsea passed, Dr. Nikki even reached out to check on us, which was incredibly kind. She is practical, compassionate, and everything you could want in a vet. Chelsea also saw the groomer, Heather, who was very gentle and careful with her. Chelsea had back issues and was an older little lady, so it was comforting to know she was in safe hands. Sandra and Steve also made a big impact on Chelsea's life, especially Steve. They cared for her like she was their own family. Steve even called to check on us after Chelsea passed, which meant so much. I'm sorry this review comes so late, but I feel Chelsea would have wanted me to write it, and I want to honor her memory. No one enjoys visiting the doctor, but I am so grateful that we found such a wonderful facility to care for Chelsea. I loved her with all my heart, and after our family, OC Veterinary loved her most.

I previously came to Orange Pet Clinic a few years ago when I needed a USDA-approved veterinarian…read morein order to travel internationally with my dog. Although my dog had already received the appropriate vaccinations, he needed an updated rabies vaccination and an EU-compliant microchip. The staff at Orange Pet Clinic were kind and able to assist me with everything required. Since then, I have also brought my two other dogs in for routine visits as needed. I have consistently been helped within minutes of arriving. The wait times and overall visit lengths are typically short, and the cost is relatively low compared to other veterinary clinics I have visited in Orange County, depending on the services needed. Most recently, however, I visited the clinic with a client of mine whom I had referred due to a very poor experience she had with her previous veterinarian. During this visit, her pet was taken to a different room for the exam rather than being examined in the room we were placed in. We never met or spoke with the veterinarian. Staff instead assumed that my client's relative was the owner and communicated exclusively with her (over the phone). After the examination (which we were unaware had already happened), the technician came into our exam room stating that everything was fine, the bill had already been paid, and that we were all set. When my client and I tried to bring up our concerns and ask questions about her pet's apparent pain, the technician responded a bit dismissively, insisting the pet was not in pain. She didn't really seem to want to engage in any further discussion with us, despite the fact we didn't know anything pertaining to the vet's assessment. The appointment was extremely brief, and we left with more unanswered questions and concerns than when we arrived. While the technician was not overtly rude, her approach lacked tact and professionalism. Unfortunately, because of this latest experience, I'm no longer comfortable referring my clients to this pet clinic. I typically recommend businesses only when they consistently demonstrate strong customer service, quality care, and professionalism, and when I feel confident that those I refer will be treated with kindness and respect. Unfortunately, this experience fell short of those standards, and it was disappointing--and embarrassing--that the recommendation I made to my client did not reflect the level of care I expect.

She arrived early to handle all the paperwork at 10:15AM however ended up waiting until 11AM before ever being seen. During the waiting period, multiple dogs and owners entered and our anxious dog's stress levels were pushed to her limits. All the staff seem extremely young and inexperienced (potentially interns), and the main tech (male) whom wanted to see and prepare our dog was very nervous, which created unnecessary and additional stress for both my wife and dog. Due to being unable to handle our dog, the young man decided to grab a muzzle, however asked my wife to place the muzzle on our dog. Each and every tech that entered the room was nervous, which once again continues to stress all individuals and our dog within the room. The scheduled appointment was for annual vaccines and bloodwork (like any normal Vet), however this trip and experience basically caused more harm than good. Despite having a muzzle on our dog, the Vets mentioned that they couldn't do anything. They claimed that the exam was completed, charged us $60 and when our dog returned she had red eyes and poop smeared all over her. During the checkout process, the vet wanted to provide us medication to sedate our dog and return for bloodwork and vaccines. We have literally never had any issues with other Vet clinics, especially in regards to sedating our dog (unless for difficult procedures or teeth cleaning). This entire ordeal (1.5 hours) was suppose to be a normal simple vaccine & bloodwork, however turned into the WORST Vet clinic visits experienced. If you have an anxious dog, please find a more suitable and experienced clinic. The amount of stress and anxiety created within such a short time frame was unimaginable. An absolute disaster of an operation ran at this location.

In truth I didn't receive a call until 2:10 pm, I didn't answer however I called back within 15 minutes. After a day of phone tag, I received a call from them just an hour before they closed to let me know they would not be able to perform the surgery as they had removed my dog from the schedule since I "missed" their call at 9 am. Again, I had never received a call from them in the morning - just the automated text for confirmation. I asked what their next soonest availability was and they said the next two weeks were booked and we would have to go somewhere else. I also would like to add that we did call other vets to see what the other options for treatment would be, and one of the vet hospitals we reached out to had requested medical records from Nohl. This was another factor to my dog's surgery being cancelled, because the receptionist desk assumed that we would be going somewhere else for surgery instead of contacting me for confirmation. This was truly a disappointing experience as we had nothing but good things to say prior to this incident. The communication was incredible up until the day before surgery. Now, I have to find another vet, pay another exam fee, and possible prolong the condition my dog is in.

I have a senior dog who will be 15 in a few days. I've never really had any terrible experiences with the staff or the doctor, until recently. My dog was treated for a uti that he may or may not have had, but based on the doctors quick visit with my dog, he prescribed him the medicine. I contacted him about a week or so after the medicine was complete to let him know my dog was still urinating on himself and I was concerned about pancreatic issues. He told me to come in and they would conduct a urinalysis. Perfect! That was complete and I was told I would get a call with the results the following 24 hours....that call never came. I reached out to the office about a week later asking for the results and was told, "it was negative." I asked for further information bc the symptoms my dog was exhibiting didn't make sense with the negative result. No explanation. Ok, fine. Even that didn't necessarily leave a bad taste in my mouth. A few days ago I walked into the office, in tears, asking to speak to the doctor as my dog has rapidly declined and was not doing well. As I am crying and visibly distraught, three of the staff ask me "well what's wrong...is it bloodwork that he needs?" I said, "no, I want to speak to the doctor, my dog is not doing well." They continued to ask, "what exactly is it" again, as I am visibly distraught. I told them I did not feel comfortable disclosing that information as I believed it was obvious as I continued to say my dog is not doing well and I wanted to speak to the doctor. I was then told to try to email the doctor and he was not available to speak to me. As upset as I was, I did email the doctor....guess what, I never received a call or an email back. I decided I would switch to a different vet as I am in need of guidance as my dog is not doing well. I contacted the office asking for my dogs medical records to which the staff told me they would email me. I did not receive the email. I then called the following day asking for the records and was told, "I have been meaning to call you, I don't think the email went through." Well, there was no way she was "meaning to call me" bc it was already noon and they like to drill into everyone's head that between 1230-3 they are in surgeries. So, really...they weren't actually going to call me back. Anyway, she resent the email with no attachments, amazing! Forget about having compassion, they can't even send a proper email! I called, for the third time, and this time I was angry and said I needed the email as soon as possible, this was absolutely absurd. The staff then proceeded to explain that she had a full lobby of people and she would send it later, to which I cut her off and told her to not explain further, I just needed her to do her job...send the damn email, it takes two seconds and if they would have done it correctly the first time, we would not have to go back and forth on the phone. Given all of these things, I have yet to receive a simple call from the doctor himself. I would have never thought in a million years that people who work with animals would treat pet owners like this...absolutely insane. No compassion, no brain cells either. Please save yourself the money, bc this place is insanely priced, save yourself the terrible staff interactions, and find yourself and your pet a different clinic.
