LONG STORY SHORT, I've been through HVAC hell, and finally decided to go with a new, local company with stellar reviews that recognized my system's warranty. Mario came to inspect the system, identified the repairs that needed to be made, was in and out within 2 hours only a day after I requested service, and not even $500 later I'm enjoying a cool, air-conditioned home. Extra points for not trying to upsell me on an entirely new system (lol - happened to me twice since buying my home, neighbors actually warned me about non-local HVAC companies), AND I can safely say that when I DO eventually need a new HVAC system, I'll be going with Manny's. Ended up paying $1,300 to replace a transformer, capacitor and fuse and to hose the outside unit down with water. Also wanted to charge almost $500 to "chemical wash" the unit, which is something I know you can do yourself pretty easily. I know most places charge the same but it all feels so much like a scam when these parts are all no more than $40-$50 each max. When booking I also go left on read when messaging via Yelp and had to call 2 hours later for them to actually book and send a confirmation. Then they said the tech would text 30 minutes before arrival and they did not, and when I told them I was expecting a text heads up they said they "didn't receive these instructions".
