I want to update my recovery journey with Dr. Kotler, which might help someone feel empowered to move forward with this big decision. I remember these reviews helped me making this decision. My first visit with Dr. Kotler was in April of 2018. I reached out to him to correct many deformities after a botched rhinoplasty and an unsuccessful revision rhinoplasty. Both of my surgeries felt traumatic, so I did not want to go through it again. I gave a chance to silicon 1000. I visited dr Kotler about 8 times or so throughout the last 3 years. My nose was in a terrible shape, but I saw improvement each time; I stayed hopeful. I continued my treatment after our initial treatment ended. I paid for extra visits, but even with that, it was significantly cheaper than going through another revision rhinoplasty. Dr. Kotler is an amazing listener. He is very respectful about what I have to say. He hears you out right away because he really pays attention. It is amazing. This skill makes him an excellent doctor. I was very particular about little details about my nose, but he listened carefully to make sure we do the changes I want. He often asked me to mark the areas I want to improve. Sometimes he pointed out areas that I overlooked. So it was teamwork. We raised the tip; my extremely crocket bridge is perfectly straight now by adding volume to the wall of the bridge, we filled in a big slope, we made my columella area symmetric, my tip is finally symmetric, my graft on my bridge is no longer visible, and we increased the projection. The silicon rhinoplasty created more dramatic change than my revision surgery did. Not only did I not like my nose aesthetically, but it was also uncomfortable to smile. It was like wearing smaller shoes than my feet. I felt it every time I tried to smile. I am just one of those people... with a lot of nerve ending in my nose. It is a slow process by nature. You have to wait few months between procedures; sometimes, life gets too busy to bother with it. I also took my time to figure out what I want exactly, so I do not ask for anything I later regret. We built trust by being careful. But being able to control the changes through good communication is empowering- it helped me make peace with my terrible surgery experiences. It requires patient and commitment, but Dr. Kotler and Mary Jaku made this journey very pleasant. They were always welcoming. They are caring, approachable, and genuine people. Dr. Kotler completely reconstructed my airways and gave me the cutest little nose in the process. As a singer, I had struggled to breathe in and out of my nose my whole life, hindering me from performing to the best of my abilities. It wasn't until I went to Dr. Kotler that I realized how severe it was. He corrected my deviated septum and turbinate bones and now I can officially breathe like a normal person. My vocals have significantly improved. I'm also obsessed with how natural the rhinoplasty turned out. Where do I begin? Lets just start by saying that I have my surgery anniversary date for my rhinoplasty coming up on the 25 year mark. I worked in the entertainment industry (still do) and felt it was time to look into getting some work done on my appearance due to my awkward look, mainly too much nose which didn't fit my face just right. I researched Dr. Kotler for about two years after seeing him make appearances on Dr. 90210 (anyone remember that show?). I was nervous beyond anything i had ever put myself through and after getting to know this wonderful and brilliant man, I decided to have my rhinoplasty procedure (deviated septum, a bump on the top part of my nose and too much cartilage on the bottom which made my upper lip area just out). The surgery day came and went and after I was informed that I was in the top 5% of "hard issues" during my procedure. DR. Kotler performs with skill and expertise even under the heaviest challenges. Under his guidance and that wonderful staff (Mary is still with him there), I went through the post op procedures quickly (use arnica if you want the bruising to subside quicker) and it virtually only took about a week or two for the swelling to subside. Here I am over 25 years later and my nose fits my face perfectly still. Dr. Kotler is by far, one of the best surgeons around (Apparently he was a great surgeon back when he was helping patch up military wounds and later repaired botched nose jobs of other surgeons) and would highly recommend you put yourself into his care when it comes to matter of making you feel and look more confident. The comfort and care he gives even years after my surgery is way above standards for this type of procedure and every office personal he employs gives you the family feel the second you make your first contact. I wish this site allowed photos so I can show you what a remarkable job he did but you'll just have to take my word for it. Nose surgery with dr Kotler- very unhappy with results. It does not look discussed. He did not fix the issue. My daughter still has a bump on the bridge of her nose. - the reason we were there to smooth her nose structure. I knew he didn't solve the issue when I saw her nose in photo he showed me shortly after surgery in the waiting room. He said it was swollen. At the recheck, he blamed it on scar tissue and wanted to inject some kind of material into her body to even it out. No thank you. His nose method with the tubes in the nose made her recovery horrible she couldn't breathe through the tubes and it was useless. If anything it made her nose look like miss piggy for a time afterwards Thank goodness it didn't stay that way. All this pain and money to go through this surgery and it was not completed as we discussed. I should have known - there was no technical discussions, just a photoshopped image of before and after on a computer in his office of what could be done- where is that image after the surgery? That perfect nose was definitely not obtained by Dr Kotler. Very disappointing. Her surgery was in 2019. I have been waiting to write the review to see how it heals and so as not to upset my daughter. My daughter says she can feel a narrow ridge on one side of her nose. ? Dr Kotler was referred by a friend. I didn't do my homework and read reviews as I should have. I hope this review helps others make their decision. read more

***PSA: I no longer have to trim my nose hairs, read why below*** I had my initial rhinoplasty in my early 20's. I was unsatisfied due to some undesired results, so I had another, then another. After 3 rhinoplasty's, my nose was left with an uneven bridge, fish hook nostrils(oh hi nose hairs) a pinched tip and just overall an uglier nose than I started out with. It left me with a low self-esteem and always feeling self-conscious. I wore a lot of hats to try and hide my face as much as possible. Over the years I searched for procedures that could fix all of the issues I didn't like about my previous rhinoplasty's. Most of them required another surgery, a tissue/cartilage graft from another area of my body, anesthesia, down time and an expensive price tag. I don't like the idea of having to be put under anesthesia if I don't have to so that was a major reason I never move forward with another surgery. Non-surgical rhinoplasty's kept popping up when I googled nose jobs without anesthesia so I started looking into that more. I went to see Dr.Kotler for a non-surgical rhinoplasty. I had had two surgical rhinoplasties (done elsewhere) and was not completely satisfied. After a couple of years living with my nose, I decided that trying to feel good about something I didn't actually feel good about was too exhausting. I started doing a lot of research and eventually found Dr. Kotler. I was nervous to consider another procedure, but speaking with Mary and Dr. Kotler put me at ease. I had two sessions in total using Silikon 1000. The results made ALL THE DIFFERENCE for me. Dr. Kotler is a master of his craft! He is exceptionally thorough and patient. On my last visit after surgery, Dr. Kotler said he was going to do a culture of my chin because it was dripping. He didn't do it. Turns out I had staph infection. Because of letting the infection go for another month, I lost 3 months of my life being sick. Also on that day, my eyes were already infected. I started driving home to Florida after the visit. I was able to drive only for about 2 hours before stopping at a motel. I went to an eye doctor there. I had to spend about 4 nights in the motel before my eyes were better for me to drive home. The chin implant was removed by a doctor in Florida, but the infection continued. I had sufficient financial cost, lost income, physical and emotional pain because of his neglect. I asked him to reimburse me for my additional costs, which he didn't do. He offered to put another chin implant in, but I had to pay for the anesthesiologist. I think he expected me to pay for a new chin implant also. I told him I did not think I should have to pay anything since I already had a lot of extra expense. I had done nothing wrong and he made 2 mistakes. He did not agree to that. read more

I had my cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty with Dr. Kotler 10 days ago, and it was the best decision I have ever made. I had spent years of my life considering this procedure, too anxious to do it. When I came across Dr. Kotler's website, and the bounty of educational information on there, I for the first time ever didn't feel nervous about this procedure. From there I made my consult, and I never looked back! My consultation was great- his imaging software is a game changer and gives you a great idea of what your nose will look like post op, and is a great way to work with the doctor to ensure your needs are met. His staff were extremely helpful in every aspect of the consult, booking, billing, etc. I am an anxious patient, and going into surgery day, I felt great as I had no unanswered questions or concerns. The months and days leading up to the surgery, I would call the office whenever I had a question and it was promptly answered by either his receptionists, nurse Mary, and even Dr. Kotler himself outside of normal business hours. Himself and his team make EVERY effort to meet your needs, and make you feel at ease and confident going into surgery. Come surgery day, I had the best experience at the surgical center where he operates out of. The same quality care and attention was provided in this step of the process as well, with the surgery center and their staff. My recovery went well. Dr. Kotler called in his free time and attended to every question I texted with. My recovery was not surprising- Dr. Kotler and his team did an incredible job preparing me on post op care, and telling me what to expect. Their transparency helped to ease my nerves even more so. Currently, I am 10 days out from my surgery and feeling great! I am back to all my normal activities, and my bruising is extremely minimal. Although my nose is swollen (which is part of the healing process) I am already so thrilled with the results and can't wait to see them progress as the swelling lessens! I consulted with several other plastic surgeons, all of whom informed me that my nose was "too difficult to operate on." I felt discouraged until I was referred to Dr. Kotler. I literally went back and forth about having a rhinoplasty for about 15+ years before coming across Dr. Kotler and his wonderful team. After a biking accident when I was little, I was left with a bump on the top of my nose as well as my nose being slightly crooked, which always bothered me. Surgeries in general give me anxiety and it's hard to know who to trust when it comes to altering a prominent facial feature. I had researched dozens of doctors and ultimately decided on Dr. Kotler because of his more natural look with rhinoplasties. I also liked the fact that he is a super specialist and has many years of experience with using permanent fillers, in tandem with surgery, to achieve the end result if needed. Dr. Kotler's experience blew me away. He has performed well over 5,000 nasal procedures and was patient with my every question and concern. Annette's digital imaging was very helpful to capture what was realistically possible. Mary prepared every detail so that I knew exactly what to do for pre and post op care. They give you everything you need (informationally and medically) so that when you leave surgery you can go home and rest and not worry about a single detail (it's all either in the bag or folder that they provide). The airway device that Dr. Kotler invented that is put in during surgery is a game changer! I couldn't believe how well I could breathe after (with packing in) and it was easy to irrigate. Also, when it came time for the packing and airway to come out, the technique they utilized made the pain pretty minimal. There is slight discomfort, but nothing to worry about. I am on day three of my recovery with minimal bruising. I had about 6 sessions of permanent nonsurgical injections done last year to increase the volume of my low bridge, and was extremely pleased with the process and results. Dr Kotler was very patient and personable during consultation and subsequent discussions about the look that i wanted to achieve. I trusted his expert opinion on how to improve my profile and he was willing to accommodate the specific changes that i wanted. Each session was quick and precise with minimal pain, i got used to it after the second time. Initially i was under the impression that this procedure would dramatically increase the size of my bridge after 5 sessions but that wasn't the case. It's important to note that the changes are conservative and gradual, but it was definitely an improvement compared to how it previously looked. I have no words to describe Dr. Kotler's craftsmanship, but his heart as well. I had my procedure in 2009. I went to several doctors, and Dr. Kotler stood up by far as the best choice, he was also the only dr who offered before and after pictures. This was my second and complex nose surgery including medical reasons with deviated septum and repair to a broken nose. 11 years later The job is still fantastic. Last year I had a major sinus issue and rare throat infection. I went to 3 ENTs, but only Dr. Kotler did a proper swab, discovered bacteria, prescribed the right med, and after several months of suffering, I finally was able to defeat the bacteria. He also referred me to a great regular ENT who handles my case going forward. Dr. Koteler didn't just change my life, he saved it. I visited Dr. Kotler for saline nose injections after 3 unsuccessful surgeries with another surgeon. I was initially very nervous about the saline, but Dr. Kotler immediately made me feel comfortable. Not only is he an expert of his craft, but he's conservative and transparent. My consultation for revision rhinoplasty with Kotler was degrading. I read reviews of how warm and fuzzy the experience w/him is, but that can flip off like a light switch. That's the short version. Long version: I have a condition that has involved many Drs, as I've moved around a lot. Also, both of my parents are Drs. And I worked for 3 plastic surgeons. I know doctors. Keep that in mind at the end of this. Positive: his support staff, Mary and the woman who does the imaging, were great. You can see in other reviews how scary surgery is. Despite having the means many times over the past decade, I only had the courage to go through with mine because I served as a class rep for a $6mil class action lawsuit. I earned a fee for working on it for 4yrs, and I felt good about that money. I had a chance to have rhinoplasty when I was younger but didn't. At the time, an ex who tortured me with a knife and threatened to kill me for 3yrs called me some colorful names for even considering it. Only after winning the lawsuit that helped so many people did I feel at peace with doing this. The surgery did not go well. I was crushed. My appt with Kotler was sudden, and it was the 1st appt I had since my original surgeon just cleared me. I rushed to find tools to help communicate with him as clearly as possible. I hadn't spent the previous 10mos obsessing over what I wanted. If anything, I avoided thinking about it. W/my first surgeon, I thought we had total understanding of what the plan was. Not only was nothing from that plan accomplished, he made everything I disliked about my nose worse. When the imager saw my before/after photos, she was shocked. It's truly awful. And Kotler agreed. He took one look at my nose and essentially said, "Yep, that's bad. And I know how to fix it." He often interrupted as I talked, and it became clear that this is because he views himself as an Ultimate Authority on rhinoplasties. Ok, great. I told him about my decision not to have rhinoplasty when I was younger and how traumatic this disaster has been. He gave a "you've come to the right place" vibe, along with a spiel about how I need a "superspecialist", i.e. him. Sure. I said my previous surgeon--also a face specialist--got defensive when it became clear that something went wrong, and that in my experience many Drs can be defensive. Kotler interrupted, "Not all doctors." I said, "Of course not, but a lot of them--" "Not all doctors," he repeated, being defensive about Drs being defensive. Fine. I joined the imager, and she manipulated photos of my nose, asking if I liked this or that. In the middle of it, I was rushed back to the exam room, where I waited. Mary checked in to say they didn't forget about me. Cool. Waited more. She came back, said they couldn't finish my appt bc of another patient. No prob. She said I could come back at 4:30. Can do. Had to wait another hour. They took me straight into the imaging room, where I hadn't finished with the imager before, and Kotler sat as a witness to the rest of the process. As I tried to articulate things that concerned me on the screen using my limited surgical vocabulary and the reference photos I brought--that the imager had said were good choices--he grew grim. His response to concerns was, "It won't be like that." Throughout, I gave caveats: I know you can't replicate another nose. I know the screen is an approximation. I'm just trying to be clear about what I like, then you can tell me what's possible. He stopped the conversation and took me back to the exam room. His warmth switch had flipped. He said he was declining my case bc I'm the type of person who would be impossible to satisfy. I almost laughed, but just said "Really?" He said I was too particular, and he could tell I'd been over-obsessing. That he didn't just know surgery, HE KNEW PEOPLE. In other words, he doesn't work with people like me. He said with a shrug that he won't do it, but maybe another surgeon would. Maybe. I realized I hadn't been interviewing him to be my surgeon. He was auditioning me for the privilege of paying him over $10k to cut my face open. I know doctors and no, Kotler is not humble. He has good reviews because he casts his patients to fit his ideal, whatever that is. If you read the first review of the "not recommended" section, where most neg reviews end up if they aren't deleted (yes, this happens), he wrote a wild response full of accusations, denials and blame. Who knows what his response will be to this. More degradation? Denial? Deletion? But no, Kotler, I'm not remotely impossible to please. I didn't even write a negative review for the Dr who royally messed up in the first place. But I did for you, bc you made sure I knew you viewed me as a lesser person. There's a big difference between "I'm not right for you, because even I have limitations" and "You aren't right for ME, and I doubt anyone else will take you". Dr Kotler did an amazing job on my nose in 2001. I was able to breath better, and the appearance was so much more refined. Dr kotler is the best surgeon in Beverly hills. He is a master at nose jobs especially revisions. I am so happy with his work that people don't even notice that I had my nose done..its beautiful. Its so natural , people think I went to the spa or had botox because they can't figure out what's changed, or my lips look fuller. He is truly skilled surgeon and is an artist. Honestly I never write reviews but I had to because this is a big decision for anyone and I am soooo absolutely happy that I made this decision with Dr. Kotler! My biggest fear was it not looking natural and people being able to tell I got my nose done and he is so good that he made it look like how my nose such look! Natural to my face and not too shaped so when I saw my friends all they thought was that I looked prettier but didn't know why. Dr. Kotler is an amazing plastic surgeon. Not only are his skills unparalleled but his staff are wonderful as well. I had to have a very complicated rhinoplasty revision due to a car accident decades prior. Dr Kotler is the best of the best! He is so knowledgeable and has years of experience which makes you feel so comfortable in his hands. His work is so natural and phenomenal! I didn't even know that was an option but Dr Kotler took the time to go over everything with me and all my options. I felt so confident with everything and am so glad I chose him. The procedure itself was so easy with no bruising and minimal tenderness thanks to Dr. Kotler's skills. It was super quick too as I was done in under an hour. I chose to have numbing cream applied beforehand so that takes 30 mins extra. I work in the health care field as a surgical nurse and deal with many different surgeons. I can say hands down he is a rare, special one that is not only incredibly talented but also a wonderful man with the warmest bedside manner. Dr. Kotler is an absolute gem!! I cannot even begin to express how grateful i am for him and his expertise! When i was younger i was in an abusive relationship which left me with a nose broken, i had a corrective rhinoplasty but it didn't leave me as satisfied as i thought it would. I consulted with Dr. Kotler for a non-surgical rhinoplasty and he corrected my deviations and profile over a couple of sessions and I could not be happier. I never thought I would feel this good about myself again but thanks to him, I do! I also love the office staff! Everyone is so lovely and amazing.
