I had a good shopping experience at Robert Paul for tuxedo rental. Robert is very kind and helpful. It did not take a long time to be helped during my appointment and I was able to get me sized for different colors of tuxedos to try on. I tried the white but went with the The Michael Kors in black tuxedo which was very nice. I do recommend to be able to come in a few days early to get try on the rental just in case things need to be resized. I had my ceremony on Friday and was asked to drop the suit off on Monday or Tuesday business hours. read more

My wife went to Janene's to get her wedding dress, and Robert Paul was recommended. I was sold on their whisky try-on experience for all my groomsmen to enjoy during our suit fittings, so I decided to go with them. The whisky try-on was great, and we all had a good time. However, the overall experience with my groomsmen getting their suits is the reason for the 2-star review. First, they send the suits just 3-7 days before the actual wedding day. This was far too close to the big day, which I had expressed concern about to Robert Paul. I requested that the suits be sent to my guys earlier, but they said it would incur an additional charge. When we started receiving our suits, several of my groomsmen had issues. Some of the pants were so tight they couldn't even sit or bend over without risking damage. One of the suit jackets was also too tight. They made mistakes like ordering the wrong pants for the wrong person and then sending the correct ones just a day before the wedding. Because of this, one of my groomsmen missed our rehearsal dinner. Another groomsman never received his replacement pants, which were supposed to be overnighted. He was forced to wear pants that didn't fit properly. These mistakes are unacceptable and added far more stress to our wedding party than necessary--stress that no couple should have to deal with two days before their wedding. I would not recommend Robert Paul to any groom. These are not the kinds of issues you want to worry about with your wedding right around the corner. Thankfully, my suit had no issues, but after seeing what happened to my groomsmen, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened to a groom as well. read more

Recently visited Robert Paul SF for the first time and I'll definitely be a repeat customer. Located on Grant Ave near Chinatown and conveniently next to a parking garage if needed. Robert, the owner of the store works daily and is easy to work with. He answers questions, takes measurements, and provides realistic commentary based on your goals. The decor is modern chic and makes you want to have a whiskey. There are lots of modern styles (suits, sports coats, shirts, and accessories). So we just started to explore my finance's wedding suit and we barely know anything about how he would look like. Other places are either too conservative that does not fit our need or not having available samples to try on. Robert is amazing. We didn't make appointment and just walked in, he warmly welcomed us, introduced their bespoke suits and even made a preliminary design for my fiancé. I came in to find a dress shirt and to see what else they had. The store was cool, they had a huge range of dress shirts. I was pleased to discover the design I was looking for. I decided to give Robert Paul a try despite seeing it online for less money, I mean I'm shopping in the City and I'm sure all stores do this so I can't be too upset. So I suggest if you are a broke boy then maybe consider looking for a shirt on Wish or Temu. Anyway, the service was the best component. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. They took the time to learn about what I was looking for and assisted me in finding the ideal fit. The atmosphere at the store contributed to how Awesome the whole experience was. While in San Francisco's Union Square, I randomly found RobertPaul, San Francisco which specializes in men's suits and tuxedos. I met with Robert, the store manager who spoke with me about my specific needs and then carefully took my measurements to ensure I was fitted with the perfect suit. I selected a suit from their extensive Michael Kors collection which Robert complimented with the perfect shirt, tie, and pocket square. The suit was perfectly tailored and led to my adding three more suits to my collection. Each time I've wore my suits, shirt, and Tie ensemble, I've not only felt great, but I've gotten very positive responses to my fashion choices. I went to Robert Paul to buy a dress shirt for a wedding. I was looking for a specific brand and style, and they had it in stock. However, when I saw the price tag, I was shocked. The shirt was $80! I did some research online, and I found the same shirt on Amazon for just $30. I asked the salesperson about the price difference, and $3 said that Robert Paul "curates" their inventory and only sells high-quality items. I told him that I didn't think it was fair to mark up a shirt by 270% just because they put it on a hanger in their store. I ended up not buying the shirt from Robert Paul. I went to another store and found the same shirt for $50. I'm glad I didn't get ripped off by Robert Paul. Bottom Line: If you're looking for a suit store that won't take advantage of you, stay away from Robert Paul. They buy cheap clothes from Amazon and mark them up by 200% or more. You can find the same clothes for a fraction of the price elsewhere. read more

Be careful when buying from this establishment. Salesman at the shop attempted to sell me a 25 dollar shirt for 70 dollars. My friend bought one of their shirts for 70 and when we ended up double checking on amazon, they were 32 dollars. Make sure to always double check the products online before buying. I needed suits for my father and I for my wedding and I saw Robert Paul on Instagram and wanted to check them out. The entire staff was very nice and helpful and the tailor was top notch. My dad I both got great Michael Kors suits custom tailored all within a couple weeks. This is a long time coming, but I would really like to share our experience with this place. We used Robert Paul when they were new. I like to support small businesses, so when my partner and I decided to get married, we tried to get everything, from clothes to jewelry, from local businesses. We were given decent service when we visited them, their employees are friendly at first. Our fitting and pickup was delayed a few times. Long story short, after a few delays, when they finally asked us to come pick up the suit days before the wedding, it was missing the waistcoat. When we inquired about it, the associate helping us said he can't find it and went to check in the backroom for a similar colored waistcoat and found one 2 sizes too small. After about a couple months of planning and back and forth with this shop, they charged us full price and gave us a completely incorrect order 3 days before our wedding trip. IF YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED, DO NOT TRUST THEM. They're expensive and not at all reliable and will ruin your special day read more
