Bought brake pads and rotors in October 2022 it is now March 2023. They are grinding like I need…read morenew pads. I purchased more pads and rotors this morning. I had them installed and then took the used defective parts back to AutoZone. The idiot checking me out rang everything up and the refund that showed up on the credit card reader was $15 less than what I had paid. I questioned him on the amount, and he had no idea why there was a difference. He was wearing a gray shirt so I assumed he was a manager. The receipt states CSR # 22. The poor guy needs some training. I asked if he had a calculator and he said no....1) hes standing at a computer, 2) im sure he has a cell phone, 3) im sure theres a calculator in the store. I had to walk out to my car and get my cell phone in order to have a calculator to use. All this guy wanted to do was argue with me, but had no idea why the total on the credit card reader showed a significantly less amount than what was paid. I decided to proceed and signed the machine so that I could look at the receipt. Tax is not included on the amount that shows on the credit card reader, and this gentleman who I believe was a manager had no idea that's how it works. It would've saved him being nasty to me and quite a few minutes of my time if he had been trained properly. It's Richmond Kentucky so I wouldn't expect a whole lot more than that. Drive to Lexington and avoid the idiots in Richmond.

He was very energetic and informative. So since my husband was at work in Lexington I couldn't show him the vehicle so they said no prob! Here take it to him and let him see it and drive it and see what he thinks! So we took it and let him see it but he wasn't able to drive it much. But he said Tuesday we will come back and also have it inspected just to cover all our bases. So Tuesday comes and we were unable to get it inspected and Kim and Patrick were both great and patient with us. I felt so bad breaking an appointment after they had put it on hold for us on the lot. So Wednesday they took it to Toyota for us who my moms friend was going to look at it for us up there. We have been super picky and annoying through this whole thing I know we have but we had to just make sure. They also gave us the previous owners info so we could ask questions about some things. They were nothing but extremely helpful and accommodating to us. And today we finally came in and Kim took care of us. Even let us speak to service and got us the notes from the inspection Honda did themselves and the notes from the mechanic and the service they recommended which they had taken care of already. So we feel extremely confident in the quality of vehicle we bought. I am 9 months pregnant and forgot to bring snacks and I had a huge sugar crash and Kim was kind enough to get me some snacks and sweets to bring it back up. I would recommend gates Honda for anyone looking for a used vehicle. They won't sell you crap. They definitely take pride in making sure you leave in a great vehicle. And second, Victoria and a young man in the service were extremely helpful. In fact, they were fantastic! Their focus was on resolving my problem, no matter how much time it took. However, the sales personnel need tutorial sessions about what different models can and cannot do. For example, how to activate voice commands on different Explorer models. They may not know about non-Ford products, but they definitely should know the features on newer Ford vehicles. If nothing else, conduct an internet search. The customer should not know more than employees of Gates. And finally, the Finance person should know which financial institutions have branches in Madison County. The person gave me incorrect information. A few years ago, I had a negative experience with Gates. This experience has been better, but it has not been excellent.
