Read a great review by Tara T on this restaurant. So I decided to swing by and have lunch. What an odd set up. Four parking spots and a drive thru. I parked and went inside. Tight quarters, but clean and well organized. Decent sized seating area. Easy ordering, classic menu. I ordered carne asada tacos and Tara was right, these are street tacos (I opted to leave off the guac) but double the normal street tacos size. These came with a larger single corn tortilla that was cooked in some fashion as it held together really well. Meat has a great flavor, onions and cilantro are fresh. I ate these as served with no sauce, and they were delicious. Good quality beef, well seasoned and thoroughly cooked. They have bottled drinks, a soda dispenser (Pepsi products) and a condiment bar. I'll be back. Will probably drive through next time. Thanks Tara T!

I have visited two locations. One downtown (near UNR) and South Reno on Steamboat. I have had their breakfast burritos. I've also had the carne asada burrito and their special priced chicken tacos on Wednesday nights. Kinda weird that it's not on the traditional "Taco Tuesday" night? The breakfast burrito was filling, hot and satisfying. Fluffy scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. The carne asada burrito is delicious. It comes with a good portion of steak and guacamole. The chicken tacos are not my favorite. While they have a great price they taste like saw dust and are loaded full of grease and they also come with cheese. We all know that Mexicans don't put cheese on a taco....onions and cilantro only, and I happen to agree. They have a very nice condiment bar with red and green salsa, green onions, radishes, cut limes, and pickled carrots with jalapeños. Try both salsas, but the red has just a touch of heat.

You have a return policy and didn't honor it.

Miscommunication on the menu. Taco combo does not state it's hard shell tacos only. Lady in the kitchen was rude about not wanting to fix the order after I asked politely. So, some feedback: clarify your menu, do not be unnecessarily rude to your locals, and do not park your massive red Chevy suv in the only handicap spot you have if you're not disabled.

So - there is a white people tax. Menu - veggie burrito 9.80 - carnitas - which I ordered $10 - my receipt - $4.50 to add carnitas - I'm simple but I'm not dumb - they're robbing you and ask when it happens - done me wrong - not coming back - the lady said it was because of avocado and acted like she didn't know the language - even if true - $4.30 for avocado seems steep

First off, huge shoutout to the staff at both locations. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a group of about 12 showing up and ordering at different times, plus another large party there, and they handled it all really well. The patio has such a great Midtown vibe, and I'm always happy supporting local small businesses. We ordered a little bit of everything: ribeye gorditas with homemade tortillas, street tacos, quesadillas, loaded papas, elote, and I even attempted the AYCE tacos. The carnitas was some of my favorite in town, the guac was delicious, and my friend loved the skirt steak tacos. Plus, the three salsas they serve are all so good. Tacos are always subjective, but I'd absolutely recommend giving Ana's a try because there's something for everyone on the menu. The cocktails are fun too, and I'll definitely be back.

Upon walking in,I was impressed with the patrons, this was a no frills crowd who looked like they were all in on a secret that this place was going to be a really good foodie spot. This is one of those spots where u walk up and order at the counter and they bring your food out to you.I loved the decor as you can really tell the owners are proud of their Jalisco roots. As an added bonus-I do tend to like taquerias that have pics of the menu items on the walls-always been a good luck charm for me that the place would be pretty good. We ordered a few things-A Super Burrito with Al Pastor($13.50)-it was pretty tasty-way way filling-killed my buzz totally-which I guess was the goal-I'd order it again for sure.We Also got a Shrimp taco($5)My wife is from Jalisco,so kinda picky with her Mexican food but she thought it was pretty tasty-one of the most flavorful tacos she has had in a long time.We also got the 2 enchilada plate with ground beef and chicken($15.50)-This dish came with rice and bean-I really liked the rice quite a bit and beans went well with the chips because of the added cheese on the beans. One thing I didn't love was the fact that you had to pay for chips and salsa-I'm sure I'm just spoiled from all the places that gives those out for free but I guess that's the way it goes-pretty sure it was like $3-no biggie. In closing-if u ever find yourself in Reno and u want something other than the commercial stuff they sell in the casinos-I would highly recommend walking across the street from Silver Legacy and walk into this little hole in the wall hidden gem of a restaurant and enjoy yourself a taste of Jalisco -you won't be disappointed.

My wife's regular taco was chicken and mine was chorizo. I enjoyed my chorizo taco also. The tacos came with both a green and red sauce, both of which were good. The red sauce had a slight kick to it. Overall the food and tacos were good. Simple menu. Lunch specials available. Complimentary chips and salsa - The salsa was thin, I prefer a thicker salsa. Not much quantity so we had to ask for more. They gave us a little more. Seemed kind of stingy. Ambiance - Decent size location. Not busy at all on a Friday prime dinner time. But I did NOT appreciate the hidden charges. 50¢ extra for chorizo. 3.5% credit card fee. If you disclosed it, it would NOT have made a difference, but nowhere on the menu nor did any employee mention these additional charges. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2018...?

The bread arrives with that perfect crusty exterior and airy interior that holds up beautifully once it's "drowned" in the vibrant, slightly spicy tomato-chile sauce. The pork inside is tender and flavorful, and the balance of acidity, heat, and richness feels fresh rather than heavy. It tastes remarkably close to what you'd find in Jalisco, which makes it feel genuinely authentic rather than a watered-down version for tourists. We also got tacos dorados de papa and those were pretty amazing too. The micheladas and chavelas are just as impressive. They're crisp, well-seasoned, and perfectly chilled, with just the right amount of lime, spice, and salt on the rim. They pair incredibly well with the tortas and make the whole meal feel even more special. On top of the food and drinks, the service really elevates the experience. The staff is attentive, friendly, and clearly proud of what they serve, checking in just enough without hovering. Overall, it's a spot that delivers on flavor, authenticity, and hospitality, making it a standout choice for anyone craving great Mexican comfort food. Will definitely be coming back.
