    Yooooo I'm at Roberto's!
    Tin-Trung P.

Food: 8/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 I just want to thank the burrito forces that brought me to Roberto's! The experience was so quick and easy, I placed a take-out order via phone call, and my food was ready before I walked through the door. To explain, I will share a small poem. I was famished, desiring burrito; Hope arose when I spotted a shop by Roberto. I made a call and ordered my meal; And when received, OH how it made me feel! Full of meat and potatoes, It was frightened of a spill on my clothes! Scrumdidlyuptious was that offering It deserved a poem that I will continue to sing Overall, really great place for a late night grub. If I had more friends it'd probably be a cool place to hang out too. A no frills takeout system. Just call and place your order, no need for name or number or credit card. Food was ready and hot. Wish the fries were crispier but I can't say they weren't delicious. A fan of their green salsa. Would be happy to visit this place again!

Best Roberto's in SD or Las Vegas. Red hot sauce doesn't take smoked like the other Roberto's locations which is way better. Also the menu items are made better and with more ingredients. Favorite taco shop in SD. Open late till 2am.

Taquitos. They were soooooo good that they were almost gone before I remembered to take a picture.

A friend bought me taquitos from here and they were soooooo good! I never get taquitos from anywhere bcuz they are always so dry and just not good. These were really good, very flavorful and they did not hold back on the guacamole. I'll definitely be going back.

This taco shop opens late and near our Airbnb, making it convenient for late night food runs. Especially after being out all day. My friends picked up the food for us and we were surprised how generous the portion size is for its bucks. A lot of places that I tried in the past, especially carne asada fries, it's best eaten hot and right away. A lot of times the fries are way too thick making you full fast, but it's not the case here. The fries were thin and light batter. A plus it was not soggy! I couldn't stop eating. Flavors were there and everything was on point. Heard service was also amazing. Will definitely visit whenever we're in San Diego!

Shredded beef taco combo and two enchiladas à la carte

I think this place has the best refried beans in San Diego... Crispy shredded beef tacos the best . Two cheese enchiladas $6.95 and the enchilada sauce is awesome.

Great little hole in the wall shop with kind customer service. After craving adobada fries for 4 days, I was looking around yelp where I could find this and Roberto's accommodated my request. (Receipt line item was carne asada fries), same price 14.55 plus tax. TOTALLY hit the spot. Huge portion, the meat was tender and crispy in all the right places and had all the toppings I love - guac, sour cream, cheese. I got both the red and green salsas and was delighted that both were spicy but not too spicy where I can't taste the food as well. I'm only sad my metabolism won't let me eat this every week but I will definitely be back.

9/2/24 - My receipt for Cali Burritos

Roberto's Taco Shop in Clairemont SD was a perfect accident. I wasn't sure if the other locations were open. When I called this location, they were open, & open regular hours on a Holiday (Labor Day). Yess! Can't leave SD without getting a Cali Burrito & taking some Cali Burritos home. Got a tad lost w/ Navigation. But clear as day you'll find it near a smoke shop. What a great spot esp for those munchies. I Phone ordered & when I picked up, my food was ready & hot. Good Sized Burritos. Half now & half for my next meal. Red & Green salsa was thrown in the bag. The Red sauce was a good spicy sauce. The Green sauce was good but appeared gloppy. Hopefully it was just solidified, & not an old batch. Still tasted good. We were happy with our Burritos. Next time we'll eat inside or at the tables outside & not in the car. Good thing I had a rental, Bec oh boy did I make a mess w/ those salsas Lols.

I ordered catering for my work event and OMG! The carne asada is AMAZING!! The hot sauce is great too! Shout out Lulu and Rene for all the help and going above and beyond to help me with my last minute order!

Best Carne Asada I have had great customer service. Shout out to Lulu for the great customer service. 100 recommend

Simple no frills type of place with excellent food! Ordering inside was quick and easy and food came out fast. The carne asada burrito I got was delicious and had fries inside, the tortilla was so so good! They have sauce bottles on the side inside the place, the only seating they have is outside but the view is gorgeous!

The menu and recipes at Roberto's have not changed in decades and I wish they would open a location in Los Angeles. Roberto's on Miramar (now another taco shop) was where I learned to appreciate authentic Mexican food in the early 90s and they set the bar for me as far as what Mexican food should be. They have the best carne asada (full stop)!

Service was excellent as well. Our waters never ran empty and after apps, they gave us new napkins to set our forks and knives down while they took our small plates away. They even offered to give us a new set of forks and knives. I think it is small details like this that make a difference. The most prominent detail I really liked about this location was the ocean view. We made a reservation for outdoor seating, and had an amazing view of the ocean and sunset. Parking was a little difficult. There's only one row for free self parking, but it is very limited. They offer $10 valet which I had to do because I could not find any parking. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. Because this restaurant is a more high-end / upscale restaurant, I would recommend this location more for a special occasion or date night rather than a casual place to eat.
