    Rice pudding

This is a small restaurant that is open from 6 am to 3 pm, serving breakfast and lunch only. It's in a business plaza and once the parking out front is filled, you have to look around for additional spots, but they are available. It's a busy place with about 3 waitresses, who are kept moving. But from the time you enter and are greeted with "pick a table anywhere" service is friendly, if sometimes a bit slow. They have very few desserts. The rice pudding, which is mediocre, is made there. The pies are bought frozen and baked there. The chocolate cake is Sara Lee. Skip the desserts and focus on the food, mostly made from scratch and served in large portions (averaging about $20 for a lunch entree and another $5.95 to include a soup, beverage, and dessert). Meals are not cheap but well worth the price. We had the beef tips with noodles and the chopped sirloin steak. Both were quite good. And the chopped steak brought back memories of a favorite restaurant on Long Island that served it just right. It's perfect, here, too. The house-made cornbread is scrumptious with any meal. I will be back to try breakfast, maybe. Because the lunch menu has a lot of homecooked items that are calling my name. Lunch for 2, with tax and tip, was $53 and we brought home enough leftovers for a light dinner.

Had another excellent breakfast at Roberts. I also got the veggie omelette again country fried scrambled very good. My husband got the country fried steak and he loved it said it was exactly the way he was hoping it would be "good comfort food "style really yummy. Ton of gravy. His new go to when he eats there. My sister-in-law got the eggs Benedict and she said the sauce could be a little better but other then that everything was good. Always have service with a smile there. They come around filling up our coffee cups nonstop. We really appreciate that they give us a box when we need it. Take our food home. Atmosphere is very nice there. Robert says that small town feeling everybody knows everybody so thanks for a great experience again.

I had a really good experience here. My family and I took a red eye from San Francisco. We landed before 7 AM. After a quick search on Yelp we decided to take a Lyft to Robert's Restaurant. Being so close to FLL, the wait staff saw our luggage and knew the drill. Our server put us at a table with ample space to temporarily store our luggage. Service was top notch. I had the French Toast Club Specialty and that was delicious. I definitely will be back the next time I am in the area.

When I travel I always look for restaurants that the locals go to, a local dive. Well, I found a gem! As I walked in the place I could feel the local vide! We were greeted and seated right away by a friendly lady names Debbie. If it is crowed, look at the counter for a couple of seats. I stated off with a Hot Chocolate, it was soooo good! Whipped Cream and Chocolate drizzled on top! I ordered one of the specials, Eggs Benedict with Home Fries with grilled onions and American cheese. Probably the best I have had, including high end restaurants! The ham was thick and amazing, look at the pictures. Others got Chicken Fried Steak that was amazing and an English Muffin with Bacon and Cheese. All were fabulous! If you are Local, what are you waiting for, if you are visiting you must try! Enjoy!

Humble, cozy local spot for comforting breakfast or lunch. The waitresses are super friendly and kind - always filling up your coffee refills. You feel like family here! We loved the country fried steak with gravy, biscuit with butter, eggs, home style potatoes, and chocolate chip pancakes. They also have soup, loaded club sandwiches, and full thanksgiving turkey meal everyday!

The food was good. Quite good. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and the 2x4. Biscuits and gravy didn't taste like Cisco brand canned gravy so I was happy. The 2x4 came out quickly, accurately, and tasty. The service was mediocre. The girl that took our order had to be asked for refills. Seemed.... Grumpy. All in all - for 40$ it could have been better.

I've been coming to Robert's for a few years now and I love that I can always rely on getting good breakfast food here. I usually get an omelet or some kind of egg dish. This time I got egg , cheese and ham with a side of hash browns. The service is a little bit of a hit or miss as this place gets packed with people. The atmosphere isn't bad it can get pretty loud as the tables are kinda crammed in. But I seem to overlook these negatives as the food is consistently good.

    Tuna Salad Hoagie

We were in the area for an appointment and decided to check it out. We weren't sure if we wanted breakfast or lunch so Robert's fits the bill. I had a tuna hoagie. It comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, provolone cheese, green peppers (which I asked to not include) and oil & vinegar (which for some reason I love). It came with chips and a pickle. The sandwich was huge and I ended up taking home 1/2 of it. The bread to tuna ratio was perfect. My husband had the Cuban sandwich. He was happy that it only had mustard & it was pressed. He was a little disappointed there were no pickles on the sandwich. He upgraded his side to steak fries for $2.50. The first time the fries came out they were not cooked through. We sent them back and got a new plate of fries. They were perfect the 2nd time. I had coffee and my husband had Diet Coke. Both beverages were kept full. The downside to Robert's is the pricing. I decided not to get breakfast because 2 eggs (which comes with a side & toast or biscuit) is $13.50 - and additional 90 cents for a bagel and an additional $2.25 for cream cheese. By the time you have the meal you want, it is almost $17 for eggs. Omelettes we're about $16. Same deal. I just couldn't. Service was super friendly. The restaurant (including the bathroom) was super clean. The tables are a bit close to each other, but that wasn't a deal breaker. We will definitely return if in the area.

Unfortunately, I will never know if any of it actually tastes good. I have a nut allergy, the kind that in 25 years of living and ice cream in 30+ countries has never once stopped me from ordering. I asked about a specific flavor, was told it contained no nuts, and then was promptly informed I could not order it due to my allergy. After some back and forth I was told the only flavor I could order was vanilla :( I appreciate caution around allergies, I truly do. But most establishments handle this with a standard cross-contamination warning and let the adult with the allergy make an informed decision. As someone who has worked in an ice cream shop (without a problem) it makes me question their food handling and cleanliness... I left without ordering anything. But everyone around seemed to be enjoying the $9 scoops of what I can only assume were life-changing flavors The place looks great. I hope they revisit how they handle allergy disclosures, because I genuinely wanted to love it and I'd like the chance to actually try it someday.

We've seen their sign for a couple of years now on Federal heading north between Hollywood and…read moreSheridan. The name never landed with us as it sounded like a standalone food court. It was the sign underneath that read, "Too tired to cook today?" that made us take notice. Looking at the online menu we found that it was not only a who's who of Latin dishes of different nationalities, but they also served bar fare - chicken wings, burgers, quesadillas, etc. Not knowing what their specialty was, we never committed to it. But today was one of those days where we felt like something different and we took a chance. The gamble paid off big. The menu was all over the place, so not knowing what direction to go in, I addressed the waiter who was all too ready to help. He pointed me to some of his faves: the Bandeja Paisa, Lomo Saltado, and Ropa Vieja. I'd had my eye on the Lomo Saltado, a popular Peruvian stir fry dish. The Bandeja Paisa is Colombian, and the Ropa Vieja - Cuban. I asked him what the nationality of the ownership was, when he revealed it was Colombian. I was immediately skeptical of ordering the ropa vieja - being half Cuban, I could not fathom the idea of a Colombian-owned restaurant pulling this off. So Joe took one for the team there. The waiter assured me that everything he has tried has in fact been delectable. But hey, what else is he supposed to say? But no, he assured me these were not marketing words, but words of experience. So I went for the Lomo Saltado which was served with black beans and rice, and french fries. He didn't hesitate to vouch for the black beans... I think he sensed my Colombian skepticism. Joe had replaced his fries for sweet plantains, so I took his cue and substituted my fries for tostones. But, not before warning the waiter that I would be particularly particular about the quality of my favorite plantain dish. He gave me a confident nod - so I played along. Joe's dish came out a few seconds before mine, and being the impatient carnivore that I am, I (let's say borrowed) his ropa vieja before he had a chance to pick up his fork. I was very pleasantly surprised. On par with any old clothes I have tried at any Cuban restaurant... and even better than some, albeit in longer strands than I've experienced. However, extremely juicy, full of flavor and tender. Then came my Lomo. I'm a first-timer, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was fan-tastic. A bit charred outside with a juicy medium innard that cuts like butter, and to my relief, deceivingly tender. The lomo napped on a bed of sautée-charred veggies whose sweetness was a nicely balanced contrast to the savory meat. The black beans were definitely on point and seasoned with Colombian love. And those ten-ton-tostones!!! By far the thickest fried medallions I've had, but with a brutally loud crunch and still a real easy chew. And unlike John Travolta in a black T-Bird jacket, totally Greaseless. Often times, tostones of this variety are tough and as chewable as week-old yellow paper mache. Nope, these are some of the best tostones I've had in a couple of years. But by far the best of their kind. I also borrowed one of Joe's sweet plantations which once again left no trace of greased lightning and were rendered a perfect dark brown with a nice and plush sunshine yellow inside. The portions were more than generous and the price was comfortably modest. I expressed my deepest gratitude to our waiter for his patience and his spot on recommendations. He also swore by their burger which he had just sampled for the first time and which is made partly with Colombian chorizo and served with a side of chimichurri. Chorizo and chimichurri for little cha-ching.... I'm sure I'll be chowing on that real soon. Food Corner is a cornucopia of Latin influences, and so far, it's also a master of two of them. (We were too excited to take photos)

The broth was so clean tasting with milk and something else- i don't know but I would go back just for the soup!!! SHRIMP COCKTAIL -$15.95 -Large Gulf shrimp, served chilled with lemon and our own house-made cocktail sauce. Good sized shrimp, good cocktail sauce, nice presentation but shrimp completely bland and tasteless. they did not add salt or spices to the water which made them not worth the money. we would NOT order those again. All entrees Served with French Fries, Cole Slaw, Pasta Salad, Rice Pilaf or Vegetable Du Jour. Add a cup of soup or salad 3.95 FRESH SEA SCALLOPS (FRIED, BROILED OR PAN SEARED) -30.95 Extra large northern deep and cold water fresh sea scallops, tender and succulent. We had them pan seared in butter and lemon and they were OUTSTANDING!!!!! Perfectly cooked, flavorful, you could taste the freshness. We split the dish and there are some of the largest scallops I have gotten in a restaurant. Sorry for the picture of the few scallops left, but we basically snarfed them. We were happy and full. We will definitely be back as they offer fresh calamari soaked in buttermilk then lightly fried, fried whole belly clams, raw oysters, oysters Rockefeller, crab cakes and more we want to try. Out of the 20 or so people having lunch , most people had big juicy hamburgers, or massive salads, or fish sandwiches - all of which looked delicious. Definitely give them a try - you will NOT be disappointed.
